If I plug my usb wireless mouse that works, but when I unplug it the touch pad does not work

Have you checked to see if your laptop model has a physical button around the mouse pad that allows & turns off?  If it does not, many cell phones often have a software switch that can toggle the on & off power mouse pad.  It is usually triggered by a combination of function keys (key Fn + one of the F1 to F12 keys).

Take a close look at the row of the top of your keyboard and see if you can find a key that has a small symbol that looks like a mouse pad.  If you find one, try pressing it in combination with your Fn key to see if your mouse pad features returns.

In the control panel / mouse & or device drive I can how the program works, then disappears.

    Hello

It seems that the wireless mouse or mouse wireless drivers/software has a bad influence on the touchpad.
I put t have a good solution for this problem. Well, you can consult the page of the Toshiba driver for latest driver updates. If the updates doesn't solve this problem I suggest to use either the mouse wireless and disable the touchpad with FN + F9 key combination or use a regular USB mouse.
I guess that you are having regular problems with a USB mouse.

    Hello

Usually, I use my laptop as a tablet pc.
Today, after conecting the tablet to the docking station, I saw that the keyboard and touch pad do not work.
The strange thing is that the Toshiba Software see my dock as connected.
I thought it was a low battery on the dock and I connected the laptop to be able to load but the power light on the keyboard is still off.

Another problem is that the pc can t find the HARD drive.

    Hello

Description looks a little link between the Tablet and the docker of keyboard wouldn't work properly, but however the Toshiba Software recognizes the connected so docker I m a bit confused.

I m also examines the issue with the HARD drive you said that the Tablet does not recognize the HARD drive which HARD disk you hear exactly: internal or external? Some tablets are equipped with a SOLID-STATE drive or HARD drive.

I have an idea; on the left hand side, you will find that the strength of farm the hole. It s close the volume up/down toggle. This hole allows to force a shutdown when the computer is blocked.
Insert a thin object in order to force the closure.

By the way: the touchpad can be enabled and disabled by using the FN + F5 key combination.
Check if the touchpad isn't disabled.

  • HP 15 ab019na: clicking on the touch pad does not work

My laptop newly purchased has just been upgraded to Windows 10. My problem is with the touch-pad. Clicking on most of the things with it (left or right) turn simply on the element, but it does not open the item. For example, the cross that appears in the top right, to a screen, to cancel this screen does not when you click on it. I have to touch it with my finger so he could work (the laptop's touch). A lot of hypertext links do not open when you click on it, but their contact works. The Start button at the bottom left does not open when you click on it, but it's when they are affected.

Clicking is sometimes more convenient than touch, so I would if the issue is resolved.

  • Satellite M40X-189 - Touch Pad has stopped working

The touchpad has frozen. I rebooted the computer and the touchpad worked. This happened several times, and then by restarting does not clear the problem. I checked in the device several times Manager and sometimes the mouse was listed and sometimes it wasn't! I restored the computer to an earlier time when the touchpad was working but it does not solve it. An Agent from Toshiba offers the soft ware was corrupted and I need to save every thing and use the recovery disk to reload the software for the tablet. I'm not ready to do it again. Currently an ALPS pointing device and a compatible mouse HID are listed in Device Manager, and both are erroneously reported as working. Any other ideas on how to fix the touch pad?

    Hello

In my opinion, you should try to use an external mouse to see if it works again and again. Believe me on this path it is not easy to say why this happens.

There may be a hardware problem, but it must be tested. If you preinstall the unit with recovery CD unit will be clean and on this path, it is not possible to say that some additional software has any influence on that.

  • Satellite L510-S432 - Touch Pad has stopped working

    Hi all.

I bought this laptop last 2 weeks, it works well at first.

It was once I rebooted the system to reduce some startup programs through msconfig, the touchpad doesn't work. Before the restart, there is a tool bar showing on top there whenever door - press the 'Fn' and now he gone too.
However, the function "Fn" still work, where I still can control the brightness, the numeric keypad, and etc. through the fair. Fn Fn + F9 key that usually turn on/off the touchpad does not work.

I had reinstalled the synaptic driver, but still, it did not work. I had activated back all system startup that I had to close, it still does not.
I try to restore the system, but failed.

Need help, thanks first to all who help.

    Hello!

To me it sounds like that, the touchpad is simply disabled with FN + F9 and you will need to activate it.

I assume that you are using Windows Vista, then you need to reinstall the Toshiba value added Package. You can find it on the Toshiba site. This package is required for the FN keys and other special functions.
But before installing the new version, you need to remove the old version first.

An interesting thing: you wrote this system restore failed. What exactly do you have and do you have an error message?

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro L870 - Touch-pad suddenly stopped working

Hi - the touchpad on my Satellite Pro L870 - 18G (Windows 8) has suddenly stopped working (after less than 2 months use of)-which makes the phone rather difficult to use. There is nothing wrong with the driver - according to the Device Manager, but I tried to reinstall when even (did not help).
These things are not normally suddenly?

Why device manager says that there is no problem when there is a very clear?

Maybe the touchpad is disabled. Is there a any reaction when you use the FN + F5 key combination?

  • Stream laptop HP 11: after the update of windows 8.1 Windows 10, the touch pad does not work

My Hp Notebook PC 11 Stream works fine on Windows 8, 1 until I updated to windows 10. Now the touchpad is dead. I have to use a USB mouse.  In Device Manager, all the drivers work fine. Any clue?

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome.

    Information below can help you

Make sure your keyboard is on

Check in the settings 'Mouse & touchpad' to ensure that the touchpad is enabled.

Open the Settings menu (Start > settings) and go to devices > Mouse & touchpad. Scroll to the bottom of the screen, and then click additional mouse options.

The mouse properties window opens. Click on the tab more far to the right (it may be called MOMENTUM ordevice settings). Under devices make sure your keyboard is not disabled. If it is disabled, click on the touch pad to select, and then click Activate.

Another thing to try is to see if your laptop has a function button that enables / disables the touchpad. It should look like a tiny touchpad with a diagonal line through it (on my computer laptop is F6, on other laptops we Fn + F5, Fn + F6 , or something else entirely). Try to switch this key if you have before you panic on the misfortunes of possible touchpad.

    Update your drivers

Windows 10 has been out for a few months now, and most of the manufacturers of touchpad have updated their drivers accordingly. But you may need to manually update your driver.

There are two ways to do this. First, click on the Start button and select Control Panel. In the Control Panel window, open the Device Manager.

By clicking on "update driver software... "will your computer Internet search for an updated driver.

    Best regards;

Your touchpad driver is maybe defective. Go to the Toshiba website from the link below and enter your laptop model number and the operating system that you will find on a label on the back and download it and install it the Touch Pad Driver and see if that fixes the problem.

    Hello

The user Tom is right: the touchpad can be enabled and disabled by using the FN + F5 key combination (or F5 only in case of special function mode is activated)
In case this does not help, try to install the driver for the touchpad Synaptic and the Alps from the page of the Toshiba UE driver.
