Cursor flashing at reboot

Got a blinking cursor every time that I reboot.  Tried recovery of images minmized which reformats, copies / restores the files on the hard drive, but when he says that the next step is to reboot, and I do, it freezes at startup (HP Logo, single line of pixels discolored at the top of the screen, Press esc to boot frozen in the lower corner options).  At this point, I reboot and I'm right back where I started.

I made a memory and hard drive, the two come back fine.  Don't know what else to do.

Pavillion g7, Windows 7 64 bit, i3

Hello

A way to check if it is a hardware problem or just a problem with recovery disks would be to try the following.

If you have (or can borrow) an installation disc Windows 7 at retail which is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - IE if your laptop comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, it's the version exact of the retail you need.

If you do not access to the retail drives, you can create an installation disk yourself - just download good picture disc from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO on a CD blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key Windows located on the underside of your laptop when requested and when the installation is complete use the 'method of phone", described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want just a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally delivered with OEM installations.

http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

Additional drivers, you may need to find from here.

You are successful in installing Windows in this way?

Kind regards

  • Why my cursor flashes constantly on Windows 7?

I use a 3 - year-old HP Pavilion Entertainment PC with Windows 7. After some previous issues with malware I recently restored my PC to factory settings and since then have downloaded only Chrome, Microsoft Word 2010, origin, Norton Security Suite and a few other programs I know are safe. I've traveled 180 updates (I don't know why there is so much of...) and everything seems to go well until yesterday morning when I turned on the PC and the cursor blinking (flashing and turn off quickly). I tried to disable Aero, try different non-Aero cursors, and close all programs so the CPU would be low but it kept flickering. Happens in all and any program, it gets faster once using Google Chrome or scrolling in the toolbar. The cursor flashes when using the trackpad, a wired mouse I have, and when using my Wacom tablet. It is not affecting the performance of the computer either, but it's extremely annoying. I scanned for virus, nothing found. Watched the updates for my computer, nothing. I rebooted several times, nothing. It's really frustrating and any advice would be appreciated.

    2. click on change settings PC since the next panel, go to ease of access and disable the tab through Web pages and applications using the keyboard navigation.

  • Cursor flashing quickly on Equium A100-306

Having bought my new laptop A100-306 in December, I have now problems with the cursor flashes quickly (and disappears completely when the mouse is not moved) on some applications/games such as the Sims 2 and Home Designer 3D 3D.

I downloaded the latest driver for the graphics card intel 945 GM, but there is still no improvement. The problem is that I don't see where the mouse is that if I continue to move and even in this case the fast blink is very annoying.

If anyone knows how to cure the Please this problem and if it's a common problem with this model? As far as I can remember, we had a week without a problem when we first loaded the Sims 2 initially.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Concerning

    Giles

Is - it the same cursor flicker problem also with common application like MS Word or excel for example?
If note, I assume that this has nothing to do with the laptop but with games

It of possible that the simple Intel 945GM graphics card 8 MB - 128 MB shared memory is not powerful enough to play games and 3D applications.

PS: Try to change some settings in the Intel graphics card settings. You will find the 3D settings button. You may need to activate something. Play a bit with this function

I left by mistake a USB in the port when I restarted my computer (Windows 7).

Since then, when I start the computer, it goes through a few stages starting and then ends with a black screen with a cursor flashing at the top.

If I press ESC during startup and access the start menu, something marked WED... is highlighted and I press on enter and it starts normally.

How can I get Windows 7 to do a normal boot without having to access the Boot Menu each time?

    Thank you.

Tried that, but it did not work.  Finally got and IT guy come and it took him 3 1/2 hours to repair.

Lesson learned.  Have an available for each computer startup disk.

  • The cursor flashes constantly and will not stop.

    Separated from this thread.

It does not work. I'm not using Chrome. I use Firefox. The cursor flashes constantly and will not stop. Now, as I type, everything works fine. But in the contrary case, the cursor flicker with the small guard wheel busy with her.

I had this problem as well - but it has happened when I loaded to the top of Chrome; I tried a lot of different things, but could not solve the problem.

Then, I saw the post from TonyBrownCloudCo, and I knew he was on the right track here.
Go to the Google Chrome settings > advanced settings
Disable Google Cloud Printing - it is a used questionable spooler built-in Chrome browser, it must come from the recent update, because I've never had a problem with it before.
I hope this works for everyone.

  • The mouse cursor flashes busy

    Hello world

I've just updated to the latest version of windows 10 and now, every time I enter Acrobat my mouse cursor flashes busy. The Manager of tasks shows 2 different process called Adobe RdrCEF (32 bit), a work constantly and others appearing and disappearing very quickly. If I'm quick enough to close it the problem stops, but it doesn't seem like a convenient way to solve the problem...
Any ideas what I could do?

    Thank you.

    Hi leo69,

Please try to uninstall and reinstall the application.

Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat cleaning - Adobe Labs tool cleaning tool allows to remove Acrobat, then restart your system.

Then try to reinstall the application here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

  • Cursor flashing with the symbol "Watch".

I use the latest versions of Acrobat Pro and Mac OS.  Whenever I try to edit text in a PDF document, my cursor flashes and becomes a symbol of slider and 'watch' combo. I can't edit for about 15-20 seconds then returns the normal cursor and I can change. That seems to only happen when I use the text editing tool.  I discovered that I can "clear" the flicker by clicking one space open on the desktop and then back to the open PDF doc. Any solution would be useful.

It's normal. Fact with me even with my 2.8 GB MacBook Pro with 8 GB.

What his weight is reading the entire section or document to see ifwas on the basis of the text.

Slow the slowest Machine it will appear. I've never seen a Version Mac of Acrobat since versio 3 who has not done this.  If it's just a very small section, it won't take too long.

  • Stuck cursor flashing after "successful installation".

I went and bought and assembled a personal server to learn ESXi (Tyan MB on VMWare HCL and speced out with 2-8 core AMD proc, 32 GB of Ram, 1.5 to 4 disks) I can't use RAID as it is, but I can live wiothout than learning. Yes, I have invested a LARGE amount of personal money in this!

After a painstaking hardware configuration on 2 days, I finally pulled above the server had no error with the material, so I installed ESXi. The installation went well without problem. I rebooted, came to the config box, made a few changes to the nextwork settings, and then I think I told him to do something like re-initiallize, I don't remember because I can't go back more!

When the system is restarted, I got a cursor blinking... that will sit there for hours, no drive or network activity. I tried to reinstall or repair the istall repeatedly with the same result. He finds right after initial start-up as the bios checking, CPU, disks, RAM... then BAM, right to a blinking cursor.

Thinking maybe it was my readers, I jumped into a disc of Windows Server 2008 R2. I booted from it, she began to install it, it see all 4 of my readers and I went through and re - configure all four drive and deleted all partition is VMWare. I ran the installation and Windows Server set up and works great. So I think that maybe corrected a problem. No, same thing. I even went so far as to format the disk to boot via Raid tool. Yet once... do run install and it ends with "Successful Installation" reboot... blinking cursor.

This server has been proven as is... and of course, it seems to be no erros material, so ANY help would be much appreciated!

I'd install ESXi on a USB flash drive, a destination of installation entirely taken in charge. 1 GB or more be done. More is not better, because it won't use more than 1 GB. ESXi extends RAM so he has very little written on the flash drive.

You must run from a hard disk, if you have defined as ACH or SATA but NOT of RAID controller. I would like to disconnect all except 1 player you sure it's the first disc of the sata channel listed in the BIOS.

    I pressed F2, F8, F10 and F12.

    Hello

It seems that something was tangled up in your Windows installation and the computer can no longer start t.

In this case, you have only one option and that s reinstalling Windows. Therefore, you can take the (better) Toshiba Recovery disk or a Microsoft Windows XP disk. It will restore factory settings and your computer is read to use again.
