Custom storage profile-HDS.

Could someone explain the process to apply the profile storage custom volume to the compellent?.

Click on the top level of the navigation tree, then you should have the option "Set up my Volume Defaults". Select that and then the Advanced tab, check the box 'Allow the selection of the storage profile' and click OK. Who will show you profiles of storage in the storage section now. From there, you can create your own profiles.

  • vCloud Director storage profiles

    Hi all

    I'm trying to set up a script to set up the new organization and virtual Datacentres in our vCloud 5.1 environment.  The problem, I came up against, it's that I can't specific what storage profiles are assigned to the new Vcc as it is created, it uses just for "* (all) ' storage profile.  What I need to do is add storage profiles I need for the VDC and then remove the "* (all)" profile.

    I am sure that there is a way to do it using the vCloud API and I understand that you can work with that of PowerCLI.  I've never worked with a REST API before, so I don't really know what to do with it.  I managed to interview gives information on existing storage profiles to help search for the clouds to find items and I'm sure that I can use to turn off the "* (all)" profile of an Org vDC but I can not understand how to go about adding a new profile (or rather, by adding one of my provider vDC storage profiles) to an Org VDC.

    Any help/pointers appreciated!

    Dave

    I had another game around this afternoon and there remove the * (all) profile once the new profile is added.  This will be part of a script to create a new Org vDC so I didn't do something to ensure that the * (a) is not in use because it will not.

    Maybe this isn't the most effective way to do this, so I'm more than happy to have criticized him if there is a way to better / easier to go about it!

  • How the scripts for the new virtual machine storage profile

    Hey all,.

    I have a long script that I've been put together so that our operations people size new virtual machines.  I ask a series of questions for such things as the VM name, cluster, VLAN, plug hardware, OS/template, etc.  I use LucD method to create a temporary copy of a customization OS specification to insert a static IP address.  I have everything works except that I can't figure out how this script drop-down list:

    storageprofiledropdown.jpg

    vSphere 5.0, any VCD.  Looks like it should be pretty simple, but I can't find anything on how to do it.  It would be nice to choose this in the New - VM cmdlet somewhere, as well as the use of the GUI.  Any ideas?

    Throw a glance PowerCLI 5.8, when it is available, there is a charge storage profile cmdlets in there (as we showed in our VMworld session this week).

  • How to change the VM storage profile in vAppTemplate?

    Hello world

    I have a project in front of me to migrate existing virtual machines to a profile of existing storage or the * profile to a profile of newly created storage.  I have determined how to get this done for VMS in vApps already and I am able to update profiles of storage for virtual machines and see them to migrate to the data warehouse associated with the new profile of storage.  I'm currently stuck trying to figure out how to upgrade virtual machines in VAPP models.  I can recover the VAPP model using Get-CIVAppTemplate, but I am not able to browse the virtual machines in.

    So my question is: How can I use on the VMS in a VAPP model to be able to change the profile of storage?

    If not, is there a method to reach my goal (all move to a new storage profile) that I don't see?  I'm afraid I'll make a mess of things in storage by updating virtual machines individually.  If there is a way to lift and move a whole tree (similar to SSMove of Lab Manager), that would be great!

    Thank you

    Jason

    I wasn't always able to solve this problem via PowerCLI.  My eventual solution was manually copy/move the VAPP model in the catalogue and choose the correct storage profile in the process.  Fortunately, we didn't have many models VAPP and it took no more than a few days.

  • How to remove the local drive of the storage profile

    I use 5.1.1 with last vcenter vcloud. My problem is that my profile of single storage includes local disk. (when I click on * all properties in vcloud)

    I went to vsphere client to vcenter (Home > inventory > data warehouses and the cluster data store) I see ESXi local disk. is there a way to delete it without deleting the content of the discs? the vcloud vms will go to local disk? concern is not shared between hosts. Thank you

    You create profiles of storage for data storage you want to use.

    First, assign user-defined storage capacities:

    1. Home-> inventory-> data and data Clusters store warehouses
    2. R.Click the data store you want to use-> Assign User-Defined storage capacities
    3. Click new... and set a name and a Description
    4. Repeat for all warehouses of data to include in the PVDC

    Second, to create profiles of VM storage

    1. Home-> management-> VM storage profiles
    2. Create a VM storage profile
    3. Name and assign storage capacities of the list defined by the user that you created
    4. IMPORTANT: Select the VM storage profile (buttons at the top of the window)

    Third, VCD storage profiles update

    1. Manage and control-> them vCenters
    2. r.Click vCenter and refresh the storage profiles (may take a few minutes)

    Fourth, edit PVDC

    1. Manage and monitor--> provider TDC-> open your PVDC
    2. Storage Profiles tab
    3. Add new profile storage
    4. Remove the * any storage profile (disable and then delete r.click)

    I am trying to create a CMYK profile custom that would imitate the ICC FOGRA39 (lying) profile, but would offer more control.

    When you create a custom ICC profile, I'm trying to specify the point of curved gain manually by entering the data increase the tonal value published by the International Color Consortium. But the latest data on the far right point (100 on the horizontal axis) is always 100%, high instead of 0% appropriate. In other words, the point at the top right really must be in the lower right. The point is not editable because it doesn't have a correspondent 100: input field.

    This is how the curve should really look at:

    I want to place the last point at the bottom right, but I can't figure out how to do this. I use Photoshop CC 2014 on Windows 8.1.

    I misunderstood something on point gain curves? Is this a bug? This actually affects the mast for the shadows, or is it just a display issue?

    I would appreciate any pointers to additional information on this problem.

    I should say that you are mistaken. It's my guess, I might add. Since the last point is related to 100% they don't enter the tonal value increase, but the EFFECT of the value tonal increase on a linear input. There is no case in the real world where the curve will go down.

  • Change the storage profile (PAF) policy and apply to the home and VMDK

    Hi there, I need to change the policy of storage on a cluster with a value of virtual machines. I have follow-up vSphere PowerCLI 5.8 PAF Walkthrough (part 1): Introduction | VMware vSphere Blog - VMware Blogs, specifically, run this:

    Get-Cluster "mycluster | Get - VM "myvm.local" | Game-SpbmEntityConfiguration - StoragePolicy 'VSAN-FTT = 1 ".

    This applies to the new political profile is stored in the folder 'home' of the virtual machine, but do not know the VMDK, where the virtual machine is not consistent with the policy. How can I do so that it changes the policy I'm specifying the House and all the vmdk on the virtual machine.

    Thanks in advance,

    You must define the strategy of storage on hard drives as well as in an additional command, for example:

    $vm = get-Cluster "mycluster | Get - VM "myvm.local."

    $hd = get-disk hard - VM $vm

    $vm | Game-SpbmEntityConfiguration - StoragePolicy 'VSAN-FTT = 1 ".

    $hd | Game-SpbmEntityConfiguration - StoragePolicy 'VSAN-FTT = 1 ".

  • Get the object of StoragePod storage profiles [vCloud Director]

    Hi all

    I'm automating DTS stuff for the creation of new vApps in vCloud Director and I want to integrate and use the workflow to Change Storage DRS by virtual machine configuration , but to do this I need to provide him with an object of type VC:StoragePod...  I have worked out how to get the default storage of each virtual computer profile, but may not know how to get to the StoragePod that it covers.

    Don't laugh, but I only managed to get this far before getting stuck:

    var vms = vApp.getChildrenVms();
    for each (var vm in vms) {
     storageProfile = vm.storageProfile;
     ....
    }

    Can someone show me how to get a StoragePod of a profile of storage object ideally default virtual machines?

    Thank you!

    Have you had the opportunity to see this thread: http://communities.vmware.com/message/2147437#2147437 - it seems debating what you are interested... The catch here is that you are trying to do from the side the cloud... I can't look at this right now, but I suspect that you MUST have access to the underlying infrastructure to do what you ask... in this case, you will need to extract the object from VC:VirtualMachine of your vCloud:VM object, then the thread above can deepen assistance.

    If all of the above are correct, what is the correct url to call the hds streams stored on this external hard drive via rtmp? The original instructions were not always clear about this. I have a file called 1.Test.mov in this folder. I tried:

    RTMP://localhost/HDS-vod2/MP4:1.test.mov

    RTMP://localhost/HDS-vod2/1.test.mov

    RTMP://localhost/HDS-vod2/1.test.mov.F4M

    etc.

    http://localhost/HLS-vod2/1.test.mov.m3u8 work of HLS

    http://localhost/HDS-vod2/1.test.mov.F4M Also works.

    I need the rtmp url so that I can make a .smil for rtmp file rescue, such as:

    Thank you

    All Adobe documentation indicates that the files specified in the vod_common_dir can be listened to both http and rtmp, but there is no specific mention of what the URL correct rtmp for files stored on an extra hard drive. Here's what I did to work around this problem: FMS 3.5 cannot connect to the media on another drive

    1. HLS streaming:

    a. change: rootinstall/conf/fms.ini: adding a new parameter for HTTP and RTMP streaming: VOD_COMMON_DIR_2 = G:\vod2\media

       b. update the: rootinstall/applications/vod/Application.xml: added /vod2; ${VOD_COMMON_DIR_2}

    2. RTMP streaming: Add the path of the external storage in the virtual directory of the file Application.xml without specifying or application name.

    a. /; G:\vod2\media

       b. the Protocol rtmp for this follows the convention of starndard URL: URL syntax: [protocol]://[servername]/[application]/[codecID:][streamname][.extension]

    c. in my case, it would be: rtmp://localhost/vod/mp4:1.Test.mov

    It would be nice if it worked in accordance with the documentation from Adobe, and I hope someone can chime in with the correct answer to the original question. If this isn't the case, it becomes rtmp and http streaming to work from the same external location (what vod_common_dir is supposed to be able to do).

    Thank you

  • Failed to load custom camera profiles

    I use the two 3.5 Lightroom and Photoshop CS5 on a system of Windowx XP - Pro 64 bit with 8 GB of RAM and a lot of disk space.

    I use a X-rite color Checker to generate profiles of cameras custom whenever I do portraits or other color photo critique sessions. The camera profile is usually placed in the

    «Documents and Settings\...» {user...} Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles application 'folder.

    When I try to apply a profile to either lightroom or ACR created profile one is not visible in the list box dropdown camera profile. When I check to see if the profile exists in the appropriate folder, it does.

    I used color profiles before and have always been able to create, and then select a profile. Now I'm more able to do that. I'd rather do not re-install all of my Adobe software since then I have to reinstall all updates and plug-ins.

    How can I get lightroom and ACR to see these profiles and use them?

    OK I understand my problem and it seems that it was a combination of things.

    First: X-Rite color checker cannot create a profile if any of the colors in the image channels are cut. Exposure via the Camera Raw/Lightroom setting and save the file with a DNG do not help the changes in the metadata and not the raw file. I tried to convert a TIF file after making the setting of the exhibition and then to a DNG, it enabled me to then save it as a DNG that X-Rite software then allowed me to create a profile without errors. However, this new profile was not visible in the menu of the camera Calibration.  The reason for this is that in the file real .dcp, instead of having the type of specified device, TIF.

    Second: The type of embedded camera (Canon 5 d, Nikon D90, etc.) in the profile must match the type of camera in the metadata of the image you are trying to apply the profile for. Apparently, Lightroom/ACR, only to see profiles that correspond to images taken by the same type of device. This is logical, since my two different bodies have different profiles. If you shoot with two different bodies, you need to apply profiles separately in lightroom. You must sort the images by camera type, then apply/sync profile applicable to each camera camera separately.

    Third: I found a solution to the question of my overexposed color checker, but unless you are comfortable with the binary .dcp for editing the file with a binary editor, I suggest you only add 1/2 to a complete stop during the filming of the color checker. The problem is that red typically clips before any other color, and since your meter is an average of 18% (including the incident meter in the studio), it is possible to red clip while the Green and blue are fine.
