• Full customization VM pool comments works not

  The problem:

  I deployed a pool (VMs dedicated, full) and im using a specification of customization of the comments that I made on my server.

  When the provisions of the VM (looking this provisioning in vSphere client), it will be a virtual machine by using the template, I can connect for about a minute and it still has the name of the Image that I use. After that it restarts and it starts first time Windows 7 installation (as shown in the picture).

  It seems that the customization is not from for some reason any. I have deployed the virtual machine with the option ' no - customization will be done manually "and it works.

  The spec of customization settings are:

  name: name of the company
  NetBIOS name: use the VM name

  License: no key (for more convenience, but with the key do not work or the other)

  Admin password: admin Local move from the VM model

  Run once: -.

  Network: typical

  Any idea why customization does not start on my deployment?

  Good to know you solved the problem, that's exactly why I suggested directly deploy you the vm of vc and check. If direct deployment does not work with the same custom specification, the problem is always with the design or the custom specification. view automates everything we do manually in the CR.

  Maybe you could get the best of both worlds.

  Run the command sysprep once with the custom unattend.xml file

  Who will transfer all the settings of the default profile.

  Restart the virtual machine and you get a VM that is unique to all of the default profile that you need.

  Now you can deploy virtual computer with sysprep values.

  Please note that you have only a maximum of 3 times to run sysprep, unless you use the reset switch

• Customization of the comments for the virtual machines deployed from model has stopped working

  Hi all

  (Environment: vCenter and ESXi 10 5.1 hosts running Build #3070626)

  We have a model 2012R2 and a file specification of customization that allows us to deploy the VMs 2012R2 server. It worked well for a while. After the Christmas break, it seems more work correctly and we havn't knowingly changed anything to cause this. We have fixed our ESXi hosts Build #3070626 October 6, but have deployed VMs of model since, without problem.

  We have all staged for the VM in advance (IE AD entry of objects and DNS). And then powered the deployed virtual computer, sysprep runs, but does not seem to apply settings in the customization file (IE rename the virtual computer, set the Admin password, join the domain etc.). If feed us the cycle of the VM, sysprep is running again, but even once, does nothing.

  I have attached the contents of my file guestcust.log of a computer deployed virtual (see below), but I do not see the clues about the problem. I thought initially the error on the first line was important, until I've found it is also present on the virtual machines that have been successfully deployed from this template in the past, so it's maybe a Kipper.

  Does anyone have advice for troubleshooting this?

  OK, I myself fixed the end.

  I created a new customization file with exactly the same settings as the old file, and it worked. I can only assume that the old customization file has been altered somehow.

• Customization of VCD comments fail to finish before vmtools restarts the server

  You are looking for assistance. I'm trying to run a script powershell to the customization post. This script works fine if run independently. The question I see newspapers is vmware tools marks the complete script once past the initiates a reboot of the system. This obviously prevents my powershell to finish. The script is copy the files to the client to then proceed with an installation.

  So my question is that nobody knows how to stop either vmtools to initiate the restart until the end of my script or how to tell my script to stop the vmtools start resetting. I still want the tools at the end, but not until my script is done.

  I tried to add various command to the script with no joy, I think it's because vmtools run command shell of power and esteem/marks it complete and moves independently of what happens. This is for servers Windows 2008 R2 and im using VCD 5.1.

  Any ideas would be appreciated.

  Based on the newspaper it seems to me that you actually run VCD 1.5 (not 5.1). Could you tell me the Version/Build date help > about? If this is the case and you can't find a way to run your script synchronously, or the timeout of 100 seconds is not enough, I recommend you to run your commands by planning a separate Windows task runs after reboot (this is how we do it in VCD 5.1.x):

  \\system32\\schtasks.exe / create /sc ONSTART $ more HIGH/np/z v1 /ru SYSTEM /tr 'order' /tn "my tasks".

  Remember that you may need to remove it later, because Windows often fails to do so, even if the arguments instruct to do.

• Customization of comments 2003 64 bit?

  Running VC 2.5 U2 and I try to use the Customization Wizard to comments for 2003 64 bit VMs.  Doesn't seem to work.  I have installed sysprep tools:

  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\sysprep

  And uncompressed compared to 2003 R2 Ent in deploy.cab:

  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\sysprep\svr2003-64

  I'm able to customize 2003 32-bit VMs with no problems.

  Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

  have you copied the sysprep command ON the CD of Windows 2003 R2 64 bit to these files?  I found that Sysprep in Windows 2003 and 2003 R2 do not seem to be compatible.

  For your model, I also would remove all restore points and convert to a new model.   Then try again.

• Customization of the guest operating system

  Dear people,

  I have a configured Windows 2008 VM and trying to put the password (through comments of vCD properties VM customization). A virtual machine VMware Tools installed and sysprep files are all configured correct in vCloud Director cell.

  I had chosen to activate the customization with Auto generate the password option is selected. The first time, it has generated an automatic password (but I forgot to note - my bad!). After that I thought specify a new and from there, it went wrong. Now I can't log in even after specifying a password. I seems that personalization does not at all. When I put back "Reset Password" AutoGenerate, it shows as "not available".

  Is there a way to recover my old password? What log file have this info? And no idea what causes the problem here?

  Hello

  After you change the password settings in customizing of comments, you must reapply the customization of comments. This can be done by selecting "power and force recustomization ' in the VM menu. Have you tried that? The password is displayed as "Out of stock" until the virtual machine is powered off - it will show the newly generated password, once it is running.

  The correct answers are displayed after the quiz is over and the user examines the quiz. If you want the answer to be revealed to the user in the quiz, then you will need to customize messages of comments to indicate the right answer. They are just the text boxes on the slides, so you should be able to easily add text to them.

• How to use the API to perform a "Power on and Force Recustomization" 1.5?

  With the help of VMWare vCloud Director, when the virtual machine is turned off, I have the menu ' power on and Force Recustomization "to turn on the machine and do some recustomization work such that reset the administrator password.

  I'm pretty new to Lab manager 4.0. We have a configuration where our virtual machine can use a static IP. So we set static IP pool. Is there a way by which I can force IP customization every time I create a clone bound a model or configuration?

  I tried to look at the Vmware tools and I know that the Tools Customize VM in configuration first time it is deployed. But can anyone help me with how Vmware tools Gets the available pool of IP static IP address?

  When you clone a model or a configuration via the menu item 'Clone...', Lab Manager creates an exact replica of the original. The clones will have the same IP address and MAC address as the original one. This, in fact, is the exact purpose of cloning.

  If you want to give a new IP/MAC clone, you must do this each time that you create a clone:

  1. go to the properties of the virtual machine

  2 remove all existing network interfaces

  3. Add new network interfaces using the button 'Add Interface'

  4. press on "Update".

  5. deployment of this virtual machine will be automatically re - customize its IP addresses

  Why would you force the customization of the comments for the clones? Why not convert your source VM in a model and create machines virtual configuration of him? Virtual computers configuration created from the templates download automatically assigned IP pool IPs that you have defined.

  Hello! I wanted to you guys give some more information about the use of sketches.

  I wanted to do a project where I could take a high-resolution picture and superimpose a drawn character in this "scene / photograph.»

  My photo was taken in high resolution with a digital SLR. I was working on a sketch on my Mac Pro in Photoshop. I dropped it in the CC for I can access it on my ipad and continue working on my sketch while I was on the road.

  I noticed that I could not import my photoshop PSD file layers in Photoshop sketch. It is important that the image being merged.

  Are there plans to make this a feature to keep the separate layers? It would be AMAZING that you can do (even if you only limited to a few layers, I don't mind!) Little is better than nothing!)

  Secondly, I also noticed that the original file was 4128 x 2322 pixel, and when I brought in the sketch, it auto - resizes (without letting me know?!) at 2048 x 1536 pixels...

  Is there a way that I was at least able to keep the original in the future if size at least I can work on stuff in a new layer and when I'm home and back to Photoshop, so at least I know it will be the right size?

  There will be a solution for this?

  Are also do you do cancel button and add a button to roll forward / ability?

Like most things, there are a lot of things for the product team to consider before this feature will be brought to the app. But, it is envisaged, is certainly not out of the question. I have just no idea when (or even if) it's going to happen. I would like to have more information for you.

  I thought that's what you hear on Undo/Redo, but I wanted to make sure before answering. There is an Undo icon (I pasted a screenshot below), and if you press and hold down on it, the forward icon. There is also, in this same menu, a calendar icon where you can scroll backwards 50 steps in your drawing (Please be very careful with cancellations and the function of the timeline. If you make a mark on the screen after going on the timeline, it will substitute all your work. You will get a warning that you are about to delete all of your features, but many people ignore the alert and lose their jobs. So be careful.)

Refer to documentation vCenter for supported configurations.

  I am writing to see if there is a way to customize the memory game, interaction of training.  Know, I would like to be able to provide feedback to the user when a match is found.

  So:

  • the 2nd card is a game

  Is it possible to customize the interaction of training to do this, or that I have to build something like Lilybiri very cool game of Concentration of Custom?

  Thanks for your comment on my old blog. Play training interactions are customizable, but only in their design. Other interactions of training have still less possibilitiy of customization. Provide feedback to a game is not included, have to disappoint you.

  Creation of such a game with Captivate 9 would be much easier than with older versions for which I wrote the blog post. This kind of 'Advanced' use of actions in Captivate will certainly appear in the cookbook for the actions that I am writing right now. It's supposed to be a warning, first of all try to get out to cling to variables and advances of shared actions. Don't forget the new multistate objects! Adds other measures that this allows a lot more Captivate with less time developing.
