• Full customization VM pool comments works not

  The problem:

  I deployed a pool (VMs dedicated, full) and im using a specification of customization of the comments that I made on my server.

  When the provisions of the VM (looking this provisioning in vSphere client), it will be a virtual machine by using the template, I can connect for about a minute and it still has the name of the Image that I use. After that it restarts and it starts first time Windows 7 installation (as shown in the picture).

  It seems that the customization is not from for some reason any. I have deployed the virtual machine with the option ' no - customization will be done manually "and it works.

  The spec of customization settings are:

  name: name of the company
  NetBIOS name: use the VM name

  License: no key (for more convenience, but with the key do not work or the other)

  Admin password: admin Local move from the VM model

  Run once: -.

  Network: typical
  Domain: test.local
  Administrator

  Any idea why customization does not start on my deployment?

  Good to know you solved the problem, that's exactly why I suggested directly deploy you the vm of vc and check. If direct deployment does not work with the same custom specification, the problem is always with the design or the custom specification. view automates everything we do manually in the CR.

  To cut a long story short, creating models of Windows 7, is it possible to permanently assign a personalization of political commentary to a model? If I switch manually deploying a VM from a template, I can assign a customizing of comments, but it * has * to be done manually. I want to be able to deploy a VM from a model and still have it use a customization comments automatically. It's on vCenter/ESXi 6.0. Don't worry if it's via the web clients or vi. I can set the virtual hardware level for all that is necessary.

  You can only build an answer file named unattend.xml (with all your customizations comments), store this file in c:\windows\system32\sysprep, run the sysprep command using the command C:\windows\system32\sysprep\sysprep.exe / generalize /unattend:unattend.xml and stop the virtual machine. Convert virtual machine model and now you're ready to deploy the virtual machines in this model if you do not specify personalization comments on deploying the Model Wizard, you can always get the customization of file unatted.xml.

• Customization of VCD comments fail to finish before vmtools restarts the server

  You are looking for assistance. I'm trying to run a script powershell to the customization post. This script works fine if run independently. The question I see newspapers is vmware tools marks the complete script once past the initiates a reboot of the system. This obviously prevents my powershell to finish. The script is copy the files to the client to then proceed with an installation.

  So my question is that nobody knows how to stop either vmtools to initiate the restart until the end of my script or how to tell my script to stop the vmtools start resetting. I still want the tools at the end, but not until my script is done.

  I tried to add various command to the script with no joy, I think it's because vmtools run command shell of power and esteem/marks it complete and moves independently of what happens. This is for servers Windows 2008 R2 and im using VCD 5.1.

  Any ideas would be appreciated.

  Based on the newspaper it seems to me that you actually run VCD 1.5 (not 5.1). Could you tell me the Version/Build date help > about? If this is the case and you can't find a way to run your script synchronously, or the timeout of 100 seconds is not enough, I recommend you to run your commands by planning a separate Windows task runs after reboot (this is how we do it in VCD 5.1.x):

  \\system32\\schtasks.exe / create /sc ONSTART $ more HIGH/np/z v1 /ru SYSTEM /tr 'order' /tn "my tasks".

  Remember that you may need to remove it later, because Windows often fails to do so, even if the arguments instruct to do.

• Access to SQL Server on Windows Server 2008 guest of Windows 7 comments

  I am to evaluate VMWare workstation, and so far it looks pretty nice.  However, I cannot access SQL Server and hope someone can help out me.  Here is my configuration:

  -Windows SBS 2003 Standard physical server acting as my domain controller

  -Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit physical acting as my host

  -Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit comments development machine that needs to access SQL Server

  -Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise with SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer comments

  I connect on all computers with the same domain account that is a local and domain admin on all machines.  I use the same connection of brideged to the network adapter that connects to my domain name on the two guest computers.  The Guest Windows 7 can see files in actions on Win2008 guest.  However, in sending SMS on reviews of Win7, I can't connect to the instance of SQL Server on the guest Win2008.  I tried to disable the firewall on the Win7 host and guest Win2008 and it does not help (I tried initially just add the exceptions recommended Win2008 firewall but does so as a test, I have completely disabled the firewall, but still no dice).  Since the guest of Win7 can see the actions on the guest Win2008 I know there is some sort of communication here, but something is missing for SQL Server.

  If you have connectivity between VM then basic network isn't really a matter of VMware itself.

  I had Google troubleshoot the connection to SQL Server 2008 or have a look at measures to resolve SQL connectivity issues.

• 2008 R2 customization by changing the name of the local administrator to administrator account

  VMware View 4 on vSphere ESX 4 environment.

  Local Admin account has been changed to "OscarAdmin".  When sysprep runs, it changes (or deletions / recreate) the only administrator Local "Administrator" account  We do not have the customization add new machine virtual domain but which shouldn't matter.  How do we stop Sysprep, invoked by the deployment of VIC VM, change "OscarAdmin"?

  Just add another account administrator, OscarAdmin.

  Let sysprep anything to do with the original account and use Group Policy to disable the default and just keep a new.

• Customization of the comments for the virtual machines deployed from model has stopped working

  (Environment: vCenter and ESXi 10 5.1 hosts running Build #3070626)

  We have a model 2012R2 and a file specification of customization that allows us to deploy the VMs 2012R2 server. It worked well for a while. After the Christmas break, it seems more work correctly and we havn't knowingly changed anything to cause this. We have fixed our ESXi hosts Build #3070626 October 6, but have deployed VMs of model since, without problem.

  We have all staged for the VM in advance (IE AD entry of objects and DNS). And then powered the deployed virtual computer, sysprep runs, but does not seem to apply settings in the customization file (IE rename the virtual computer, set the Admin password, join the domain etc.). If feed us the cycle of the VM, sysprep is running again, but even once, does nothing.

  I have attached the contents of my file guestcust.log of a computer deployed virtual (see below), but I do not see the clues about the problem. I thought initially the error on the first line was important, until I've found it is also present on the virtual machines that have been successfully deployed from this template in the past, so it's maybe a Kipper.

  Does anyone have advice for troubleshooting this?

  OK, I myself fixed the end.

  I created a new customization file with exactly the same settings as the old file, and it worked. I can only assume that the old customization file has been altered somehow.

  Comments customization Win2k8 R2 is supported on vCenter 2.5 (build 174768)? We have a model, but the host name of the guest operating system is not updated to match the name of the virtual machine.

• Customization of comments 2003 64 bit?

  Running VC 2.5 U2 and I try to use the Customization Wizard to comments for 2003 64 bit VMs.  Doesn't seem to work.  I have installed sysprep tools:

  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\sysprep

  And uncompressed compared to 2003 R2 Ent in deploy.cab:

  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\sysprep\svr2003-64

  I'm able to customize 2003 32-bit VMs with no problems.

  Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

  have you copied the sysprep command ON the CD of Windows 2003 R2 64 bit to these files?  I found that Sysprep in Windows 2003 and 2003 R2 do not seem to be compatible.

  For your model, I also would remove all restore points and convert to a new model.   Then try again.

  Yes, vCenter 4 supports customization of Linux comments. You don't need additional software, just the VMware tools.

  How do I do with this?  I don't want anyone to see my password never - not even myself.

  Now, there's more coming.

  Of course, to perform a system restore, gave place to all of my data will disappear, but all my contacts and my phone number still existed.  All because I've kept backups, I am like a charm!

• How to prevent the text to be cropped when drawing

  I draw a long text in an area of limited width (say half the width of the screen)... when I draw using the graphics.drawText () method, it gets cropped. It draws a lot more text only pertaining to this width. I want my text to draw in its entirety. text is expected to come online in the next (the width is always the same) and so on...   You can replace the try/catch block with the commented line (obviously after getting it without comment)... I did it because I added this code in my project in a separate service file. If you write in your screen itself you can use this line instead of the try/catch block commented code...

• Valuation of an SSD with workstation

  Hi - I have a race to a workstation on a SSD and decent hard drive and I wanted to see if someone could recommend to improve performance?  Start my computer laptop regular host, the SSD is excellent and startup speeds are much better than on the hard drive.  With a Windows 2008 R2 server hard disk comments, it takes 240 seconds to restart the operating system invited and on the SSD about 210, so a 12.5 percent improvement.  So an improvement, but can do better?  The CPU is a grunty I7 haswell, the base OS is windows 7 and I have 16G memory.

  Any thoughts appreciated as improving on the SSD on the host start is so marked, I wonder if we can do more for the guests

  From my own experience it should run a lot faster. Please check that the guest operating system is not the virtual disk, or CD-ROM connected ("connect to power on" unchecked). If this does not help, take a look at vmware.log of the virtual machine to see if that gives you a few tips. Another only looking at this from the point of view of VMware, check the configuration of comments for example services that may have problems starting or the stale drive mappings.

  The correct answers are displayed after the quiz is over and the user examines the quiz. If you want the answer to be revealed to the user in the quiz, then you will need to customize messages of comments to indicate the right answer. They are just the text boxes on the slides, so you should be able to easily add text to them.
