  • How to stop the menu showing "export pdf, create pdf, edit pdf, comment" etc

    How to stop the menu showing "export pdf, create pdf, edit pdf, comment" etc. which always appear on the right side of the screen every time I open a pdf file?  We do not pay for any of these functions and may not use it.  The menu takes a good amount of screen and is quite annoying to have to hide whenever I open a pdf file.

  • Best way to get InDesign files (or the exported pdf file) Acrobat DC?

    Hi all

    I was taken to the top of the interactive forms in Indesign. I like the creation of form-everything is very specific and very accurate. I feel like Adobe is lacking in this regard and with regard to the toolset.

    / But /, Indesign does not support the level of script Acrobat when it comes to creation of interactive form. What I do is, I exported the PDF from Indesign, then by defining it as a background in Acrobat. That worked fine for me up until I created a multipage document.

    It seems that I can not put a background in Acrobat 1:1 with the pdf I created. It still affects each page with the background, be it a page of pdf or page 2 or page 3...

    Someone at - it a good workflow, a way to get the most out of Indeisgn without taking too many steps to change the pdf file in Acrobat? Perhaps with a plug-in?

    Have you tried the replace command pages in Acrobat. Seems it would be exactly what need you.

  • Merge to PDF - create a unique name for each PDF file

    I have been regularly mail merge documents to PDF using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel for quite some time, but once I have a long list of PDF documents I then have to rename each to what it must be rather than 'PDFMailer123 '.

    Which would save me a lot of time with the renaming of the documents is so trying to create the PDF (with Adobe Acrobat), he was able to pick up a field in the worksheet excel information fusion to name the document.

    Is there a way to do this?

    Yes, it can be done if you do direct mail using a script.

  • Export a flattened (without layers) PDF to InDesign?

    My printer has requested a PDF flattened for printing, so there is no confusion of layer.  They explained to me that I have to open each page and flatten it in Adobe Acrobat format.  Is there a way I can just export from InDesign with these settings?  As far as I can see the PDF file gives you options of layers, but it does not give you an option to flatten the layers.

    Thanks for any help.

    Yes. Uncheck the create Acrobat layers to export.

  • Large Volume of data merge issues with Indesign CS5

    I recently started to use Indesign CS5 to design a piece of mail marketing which requires the fusion of data from Microsoft Excel.  With small spots up to 100 pieces, I don't have any problems.  However, I need to merge 2 000-5 000 items of data through Indesign on a daily basis and my lap top current was not able to manage the merger of more than 250 pieces at a time, and the merge process 250 takes 30-45 minutes if I have the chance and the software not crushed.

    To resolve this problem, I bought a desktop computer with a second generation processor Core i7 and 8 GB of memerory, thinking that would solve my problem.  I tried to merge the track 1,000 of data with this new computer, and I was forced to restart Adobe Indesign after 45 minutes of no results.  I then merged 500 pieces and the task was completed, but the process took less than 30 minutes.

    I need help with this problem because I can't find another software which can design my mail merge the way that Indesign can, however, the time it takes to merge large volumes of data is very frustrating because the software crash from time to time the after waiting a good 30-45 minutes to complete.

    Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    It's in the menu data merge, 'Export to PDF '.

  • Exporting inDesign does not layers correctly

    Hi people,

    I'm having a problem exporting layers in InDesign CS4 (on Windows 7).

    I have a multilayer InDesign document, and the main layers has all my text stream.

    I'm incorporating several films, and I use additional layers of place films on.

    I have exported with active "create Acrobat Layers', and then I open in Acrobat and create multiple buttons with the functionality to enable the visibility of layers in and out, so hide or display of my layers of film. Awesome.

    Until yesterday. No matter what I do, when I export on InDesign, with the export of active layer, when it opens in Acrobat, without layers appear suddenly.

    I've checked all my options in the export, and everything is as it should.

    I tried to play with only the export of layers visible and this which makes them visible. Nothing.

    I also tried to export to the interchange format and import as a "fresh" document (someone suggested that) and he doesn't either.

    I'm used to working on a Mac, where I could trash the InDesign preferences file and try again, but I'm on Windows, and do not know if it works in the same way.

    I also created a new document with 2 layers, just to test it with a fresh document. I can't export all the layers with a fresh document, which tells me that there is something wrong with my installation of InDesign.

    Then... currently up to a Creek.

    Any thoughts?

    Is there a Preferences file to remove Windows?

    Which is usually help?

    I will try a reinstall then, but hoped to avoid this...

    Thanks for any suggestion or wisdom.  :-)

  • Export unique PDF pages to InDesign after the data merge

    So I got this hitch with my last job that I can't move.

    I'm generating nearly 700 labels of bag with the help of the data fusion which is each in their own PDF file with a unique file name.

    My current process is:

    1. Open my file in InDesign.
    2. Data merge all labels like "creating a merged document.
    3. Run a script that does some minor changes and then automatically add bookmarks based on a paragraph style.
    4. Export a single pdf file containing all the labels.

    Now, that's the thing that I meet. Initially, I thought open the PDF in acrobat and then divide the file based on the bookmark names - that works very well. However, I also need convert the text to outlines text, then the fonts don't get replaced by our supplier in China (long story). Ideally, I discovered Acrobat can do it himself, but unfortunately it can not be used for several single paged pdf files in the Action Wizard. If I vectorize the text before you split the pdf file, the bookmark naming convention does not seem to work...

    I thought that this might work, but if there was a script that could export PDFs page of InDesign itself and use the paragraph style name. And then I could put just a pdf preset to underline the text. I can't find anything like those well...

    So there's my pickle. I would be grateful for your suggestions!

    Thanks in advance!

    An any other Acrobat Pro script may be worth a try if you want to split based on. CSV:

    /* https://forums.adobe.com/message/5551746 */
    var CSV = function(data) {
        var _data = data.split('\r\n');
        for(var i in _data) {
            if(_data[i].length > 0) {
                console.println(i + ' ' + _data[i]);
                _data[i] = _data[i].split(',');
            }
        }

        var _head = _data.shift();
        return {
            length: function() {
                return _data.length - 1;
            },
            getRow: function(row) {
                return _data[row];
            },
            getRowAndColumn: function(row, col) {
                if(typeof col !== 'string') {
                    return _data[row][col];
                } else {
                    col = col.toLowerCase();
                    for(var i in _head) {
                        if(_head[i].toLowerCase() === col) {
                            return _data[row][i];
                        }
                    }

                }
            }
        };
    };
    this.importDataObject("CSV Data");
    var dataObject = this.getDataObjectContents("CSV Data");
    var csvData = new CSV(util.stringFromStream(dataObject));
    if(this.numPages != csvData.length()) {
        app.alert("Number of pages & CSV row count inconsistent");
    } else {
        for(var i = 0; i < this.numPages; i++) {
            this.extractPages({nStart: i, cPath: csvData.getRowAndColumn(i, 'PartnerHQ_Id') + '.pdf'});
        }
    }

    Note that the column header is supposed to be (this can of course be changed on line 41 of the script code):

    PartnerHQ_Id

  • Data merge problem - bad values when exporting PDF with "All folders" only

    Hi - I have the weirdest problem with InDesign: I use merge data from .csv to create a deck of cards (9 per page), and when I export to PDF from the data merge Panel, one of my field has erroneous data: it uses values from previous records and which repeat.

    What is strange, is that when the noticed, all right. Is also very good if I create a merged Document and PDF export. Is also very good if I export to PDF using just the range of entries it is play: I don't get that wrong data if export as PDF, "All records" in the data merge Panel.  Very frustrating!

    Someone saw? I feel that my data is ok, if the export of individual records is very well...

    Cheers for any help.

    Thank you! Which has me on the path to what looks like a fix...

    Copy all the fields in a new file does not solve the problem - the same behavior, but after the start of charges, I started to adjust the sizes of the fields and stumbled upon a possible solution.

    A field that trouble is a text box for a single digit, if limits are quite small. The name of the field for example placeholder. > is bigger and complained of cut-off text.  Increase the limits of the text box to be at least the size of the reliable placeholder text solves the problem. It decreases the size of a single digit... back of the problem.

    How weird.

    Thanks Peter.

    I want to extract information from the same input field in multipal PDFs (created using document pro) and export them to an excel file. Is this possible? If this isn't the case, Adobe seeks to make this project a reality.

    -Extract all data from a single file can be done via the tools - forms - more form Options - export data...

    -Extract some data from a single file will require a script to measure.

    -Extract all the data from multiple fields in a single file can be done via the tools - forms - more form Options - merge data files into spreadsheet...

    -Extraction of data from several files will require a script Custom Action, as I've written before.
