database cloned from 32 64-bit platform issues.

Here's the scenario: Prod database is running on windows server 2003 32-bit, 10.2.0.5 recently patched to 10.2.0.4.

Need a test copy of this running on Server 2008 R2 64-bit, so I installed 10.2.0.4 with - ignore the switch of sysprereqs running setup.exe, then patched to 10.2.0.5, which is taken in charge on 2008 R2

create a database named "test", to create directory structures, file init, etc..

then copy datafiles of new destinations from the last user online, startup nomount, managed backup, create controlfile with set of base data etc. then question restore database until cancel using backup control file, apply a few archives copied from prod and then cancel and open resetlogs. (my usual process clone)

but this time, when you do an open resetlogs I hunted and session close by ora-1092. I try and again beginning of database and get the errors that require data recovery files, and publish all recover data file '.. ' commands and try and open again, again put on the door. Check the alerts log and he asks "open upgrade. I connect as sys, startup mount and open upgrade, database begins!

So I think I have run better catproc on this database anyway, so I try to run it (as sysdba) and get:

SQL > @c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\rdbms\admin\catproc.sql
DOC>######################################################################
DOC>######################################################################
DOC > the following PL/SQL block will cause an error ORA-20000 and
DOC > end the SQLPLUS session if the user is not SYS.
DOC > disconnect and reconnect with AS SYSDBA.
DOC>######################################################################
DOC>######################################################################
DOC > #.

ERROR on line 1:
ORA-06553: PLS-801: internal error [56319]

Disconnected from the database Oracle 10 g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64
little Production
With OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options

Then, connect as sys even once, stop the DB and try to upgrade to start, get again errors "datafile needs of recovery", recover the data files and open with upgrade, try running catproc again and the same error message saying that I need to be connected as sysdba , which I was.

In any case, the database is in place and works ok at this point, so I stopped, issuing start and get kicked again when trying to open, save back with mount starup and then change the database open upgrade and it opens again.

I think I'll just create a blank database at this stage and exp/imp, but I've been under heard that 32-bit backup could be restored to 64-bit platforms - unless I missed something somewhere?

any ideas?

Thank you!

Already, I have installed Oracle EE and have installed JDeveloper today. The two are running without any problem.
SQLDeveloper, I downloaded initially without the JDK, but that has not worked, and read the many responses to other people who have had the same problem (something mscvr7.dll or something like), as by their exhortations, I downloaded the SQLDeveloper which includes the JDK, which is be 32-bit (there is no 64-bit with JDK SQL Developer bundled with it). I'm on W7 64-bit.

Can someone help me out here? I don't have much of a clue when it comes to JDK.

    Thank you very much
    Jason

I think the problem is that the 32-bit java jdk tries to load a DLL 64 bit from the windows directory.

You must download and install the 64-bit SQLDeveloper and tell him to use the 64 bit JDK.

Is maybe that you have only a JRE installed, in which case you will need to download and install a JDK.

If you have problems to do this work, post them here and we can help you.

A work-around may be to make sure that the option 'Use OIC/thickness pilot' in tools | Preferences | Database | Advance us unchecked. This way Developer SQL shouldn't need to go near the ocijdbc dll

  • Current database cloning using RMAN

    Hello

I have my database (11.2.0.3.0) of test running on Windows server 2008 R2 64-bit. My name is TESTDB database and its operation in log mode archive with ASM. I want to clone the same database using RMAN... I checked the many documents and have searched in google also, but did not find the right document. I am very new to the database of ACTIVE RMAM feature.

Here I have the different file name with the structures of different directories also...

    my doubt is:

    * 1. How to copy a database running in log mode Archive with the DSO to the remote computer with the same name of DB via RMAN? *
    * 2. How to copy a database works in log mode Archive with ASM in a remote machine with the different DB name like CLONEDB via RMAN? *

Please suggest me how to proceed?

original title: 64 bit update tries to install on a 32-bit platform

  • The 32-bit platform has been abandoned for JDeveloper 12.1.3?

This thread was created to prevent the diversion of this similar thread:

https://community.Oracle.com/message/12509733#12509733 (when the new version of Jdeveloper will come including ADF mobile framework?)

I have replied to this thread and inadvertently ask myself a question:

    always 32-bit will be supported?

    Timo Hahn replied as follows:

If you check the matrix certification Oracle JDeveloper and ADF 12 c (12.1.3) supported systems , you see that only the windows 64-bit systems are supported. You can try the generic installation program that can run windows 32-bit inn.

That is why this thread for my question.

Certification for 12.1.3 matrix lists only the 64-bit systems. It is not clear if the support of 32-bit system only has not yet been made public or if Oracle has abandoned in favor of the 32-bit platform JDev framework and SDK extension.

We have tried to create and manipulate Developer extensions sql for several years, but there have always been problems; in particular, the absence of sufficient documentation for changes between sql developer and framework Jdeveloper, he comes and the lack of any official source for XSD schema files necessary.

The last issue was the transition to the new OSGI framework for these two products.

Developer 4.0.2.15.21 SQL is supported on 32-bit Windows and use the Jdeveloper 12.1.3 framework which, until today, NOT went public.

I posted a question in this forum and the developers forum sql on a problem of Extension when you use the JDev 12.1.2 and Sql Dev framework.

    https://community.Oracle.com/thread/3566788

This code example, I provided in this thread appears to indicate the following:

    1. a bug in the version of sql developer 4.0.2.15.21

    2. a bug in Jdeveloper 12.1.3

    3. an incompatibility between this version of sql dev and the 12.1.2 Framework SDK extension my sample uses (since 12.1.3 was not available

So I'll try to understand what JDeveloper and Sql Developer extensions will be cared for and on what platforms.

If the Jdev 12.1.3 framework won't be supported for 32-bit, which probably means that extensions for 32-bit versions of Sql Developer will not be supported.

But this version of Sql developer is publicly available for 32-bit systems and its architecture makes heavy use of the extensions. So he itsn can't clear at all whether the general public can develop extensions for 32-bit sql developer if Jdev 12.1.3 framework is not available on this target.

One of the problems with the use of JDev to create Developer extensions sql was that developer sql was NOT available as a target platform for the deployment.

I expect Oracle to announce a delivery date for a 32-bit version of the JDev framework. But since the 64-bit version was only published and that Sql Dev is supported on 32-bit platforms and uses a (perhaps in-house) version of the 12.1.3 framework I hope that Oracle could at least tell us if a decision was made to abandon support for the 32-bit framework or not.

If this isn't the case, then the third party extensions won't be able to support the 64-bit versions of JDeveloper and Sql developer.

    Hello...

We (JDev) support still 32-bit JDK. The change you see is double: 1) we distribute installers with the 32-bit JDK built, 2) we no longer run tests on 32-bit JDK. However, visitors are always entitled to support when executing JDeveloper in a 32-bit environment. The availability of 32-bit computers and operating systems capable of running JDeveloper fades quickly. Only 64-bit supports fusion Middleware, but for development only (JDeveloper) we continue currently to provide 32-bit support. This will ultimately change in the future (in the same way that we no longer support 16-bit architectures), but the time is not yet known.

Also, I just want to point out that the support of 32-bit is mentioned in the doc certification here:

    Other operating systems Updated Oracle JDK 1.7 51 + (32 bit, 64 bit) Updated Oracle JDK 1.7 51 + (32 bit, 64 bit)

    and here

Gets the support of other operating systems (untested), including 32-bit JDK, for the purposes of a single user in a development only environment. Not planned for production deployments.

  • Can I switch from Vista 32 bit to Win 7 64 bit on hp pavillion d4790y?

I have 2 gig ram, but really need to accelerate up to 8 GB. I would also like to get win 7 for the office. Before all this, I need to know since my current OS is 32-bit, but 64-bit capable, if I install windows 7 64 bit will it pass from 32 to 64? And then the 8 GB of RAM will actually work if I buy that as well? Will I run into all the problems of the material inside (processor or motherboard (intel core 2 cpu [email protected] ghz))? I do not understand 32-bit to 64-bit conversions... Thank you

    Hi, Ciaroman:

As I explained to wb2001, there is a difference between an upgrade on the spot and a custom (new installation).

An upgrade in place means that you keep all of your files, programs and settings when you upgrade to Windows 7.

While I always recommend backing up your files in case something goes wrong, all you do is pop in the disk on the Windows desktop and it installs Windows 7 and other than that, your PC is just the way it was before you upgrade, except that you now have Windows 7 instead of Windows Vista.

You may need to install a couple of pilots, but that should be all you need to do.

When you move from a 32-bit to a 64 bit OS OS, you can do an upgrade on the spot.

You have to backup all your files and completely reload all programs, files and personal settings once your new 64-bit OS is installed.

This installation method is called a custom or clean installation.

Now as for the memory... Basically, Crucial memory is the same as the memory that I posted from NewEgg.

If you feel 'safer' purchase of Crucial, by all means do so.

I just give you options for less expensive, but also as a decent memory.

    This choice is yours.

I can't say, I bought my memory from NewEgg (essential or patriot) for laptops and for a few years now and never had a problem with backward compatibility still.

Here's an article on the latency CASE that explains better that I could. Basically the more latency, faster memory performs. This is not the same as the speed in MHz, it performs to.

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/CAS_latency

So, as the number 5 of the same 800 Mhz memory chip should give you a slightly better Windows experience index # a chip number 6.

I'm not an expert of memory. I didn't even know there were fleas in CASE 5 PC2-6400. I thought they were all CASES 6 and that all modules in memory PC2-5300 cases5.

In any case, I went with Crucial memory because it was cheaper at the time.

    So, to summarize...

Upgrade on-site is NOT the same as a custom upgrade.

In place keeps all the files and settings and install just the OS on the existing.

Custom: All files and programs must be reinstalled after installing the OS.

CASE 5 memory 'faster' than the memory of 6 CASES.

Just for fun, when you get your floppy drive to install W7 (I recommend buying retail package so that you get a 32 bit version and 64), put the 64 bit OS installation disc in the DVD drive on the windows desktop and see what happens.

Then, remove the disc and insert the W7 32-bit installation disk and see what happens.

You will then have proof positive, there is no way you can do an inplace upgrade to an OS 64-bit to a 32 bit OS.

Personally, I would do a custom (clean install) of a 32 to an OS 32 bit or 64 64-bit OS anyway. I am suspicious of an upgrade inplace carrying luggage old to the new facility.

Please report if you have any other questions or need additional assistance.

    Thank you.

    Hello

You should check with Support to be sure. Normally the 32-bit and 64-bit key can
be used on the same system. Of course, you need to install the 64 who will wipe away
the installation of 32-bit. The key you should however work to check better
with that which supplied the disc. The manufacturer of your system can also provide input.

    I hope this helps.

  • On Windows 7 upgrade from vista 64 bit stops after that it says the settings and files of collection

I am tring to install Windows 7 upgrade from vista 64-bit.  I'm to the point where it says collect files and settings, and it stops running, and then in the details it shows 3 files located in the c: users\my name\appdata\local\temp\WER followed by numbers.tmp, then version, appcompat or mdmp. (example: wer5090.tmp.version.txt)  He said that these files are the reason. Any ideas how to solve this problem?

1 disable any security software before attempting to upgrade

    2. make sure that your computer is updated (devices and applications)

    3. disconnect all external devices before installing.

    4. check your hard disk for errors:

    Click Start

Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD

    Click on "Run as Administrator"

At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r

When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    User account control permission

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

    3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

    5. click on OK.

    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.

    7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

Also run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-7/Upgrade-Advisor.aspx

If the upgrade continues to fail, you might want to consider doing a custom installation:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.
