    I received a window indicating I should install a new version of Java. During the installation, a window came "update Java 8 71 trying to install a new tool of assistance." (Stopping the service will take a moment)

      2 remove the contents of the download folder:

  • I think that Windows Update tries to install an update that I don't need me

    Update of Windows on the computer, I'll put in place says that this important update is available:

    When I try to install from Windows update I get this error:

    It then provides a link to "Get help with this error" which takes you to a page of results from help and Support Windows. No listed results mention a C 8007371 error, but one of them is "Resolve problems with installing updates" I click on that one.

He listed under 'Problems found', "components Windows Update must be repaired", followed by 'Fix the status - set' and a happy green check mark. For those interested, here are the details of the report:

A good time to check if the patch can be installed again!

    I try from Windows update - fails with an error C 8007371
    Restart and try again - fails with an error C 8007371

    So, I decide to try to download the file directly from microsoft and bypass the Windows Update mechanism

    Downloaded KB2699988 from Microsoft.
    Tried to install it in the 'normal' windows desktop: come to the last part of the green bar and then I get:
    "Some updates were not installed - the following updates don't have not been installed: security for Windows Update (KB2699988).

    Tried again to install the SafeMode file. Had this error:
    Setup Windows Update Standalone - Setup has encountered an error: 0x8007043c. This service cannot be started in Mode safe.

    Went on the forums and then I tried these challenges listed as possible solutions to this problem:

    1 ran the System File Checker scan according to the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936212. He returned a value of "Windows Resource Protection has not found any breach of integrity."
    2. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936212 (2nd half of the page) listed by using the System Restore tool to move to another point in time. I have all the old points system, restore, so this isn't an option for me.
    3. clean start up the PC and then ran Windows Update according to the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135: essentially the same as before. However, to stop all services, and then restart the Windows Update service, I tried, once again, to install the stand-alone Installer KB2699988 (file name of this file, for your benefit is .msu Windows6. 0 -KB2699988 - x 64). After the execution of this file, this message will appear: "Setup Windows Update Standalone - the update doesn't not apply to your system" OK is my only option here.

    So now the leaves wondering if this necessary update is really necessary at all. Why Windows Update says that I need this file which is not even for my computer?

    Hi langsat,.

    Welcome to the forum of Microsoft.

    I would like to know some information like:

    1. What is the number of KB of the update for office XP that fails?

    2. Please check if you have Office XP installed on your computer application?

    Some time, you get the update, if the application was installed before, then removed. All by removing certain tracks or files of the application have not eliminated completely.

    In this scenario, you could get the update. If it the update to office XP SP3, it is not required in Vista.

    3. click on start-> Control Panel-> Security and then under Windows Update, click view update history. Check your history of Windows Update and this list, what is the date of the last update installed, and let me know the number KB of the update that failed to download and install recently?

    If you find that the number is KB832671 for Office XP Service Pack 3 (SP3), you should follow the steps mentioned below:

    a - open programs and features by clicking on the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking programs, and then clicking programs and features.

    b - search application for Microsoft office XP if installed, and then click Uninstall. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    c - in the case where you do not find the application in Add Remove programs or unable to uninstall it, and then download and run windows clean up utility from the link given below: http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

    d Please delete all files for Microsoft office XP, if you find.

    e for more information please follow the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

    f - once all the files are deleted, restart the computer once.

    We can also do the following to reset the Windows Update components manually:

    Step 1:

    Click Start, run and type cmd. Right-click "Command Prompt" and select "Run as Administrator".

    Click on 'Continue' in the UAC prompt.

    At the command prompt, type the following commands and press ENTER after each command:

    net stop wuauserv

    net stop bits

    Step 2: Rename the Catroot2 folder.

    Type the following commands and press ENTER after each command.

    net stop cryptsvc

    Ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 catroot2.old

    net start cryptsvc

    Step 3: Rename the folder "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution".

    Ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    Step 4: Save the files used by Windows Update and Microsoft Update.

    At the command prompt, type the following commands, press ENTER after each command, and then click OK every time that you receive a verification message:

    regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll

    regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll

    regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wucltux.dll

    regsvr32 wups2.dll

    regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wups.dll

    regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuwebv.dll

    Step 5: Start the service of Windows updates, Background Intelligent Transfer and the event log service.

    At the command prompt, type the following commands and press ENTER after each command:

    net start bits

    net start wuauserv

    net start Eventlog

    take the exit.

    Please try to download and install the updates using windows update. (Be sure to restart the computer if updates need to reboot before installing).

  • Windows Update tried to install automatically over 163 k updates and she didn't particularly

    Original title: not updated for Windows 7

    I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 Pro to replace my Vista OS is no longer supported. A week ago, tried Windows Update automatically installs more than 163 K updates. It locks up my computer at night and mostly did not. Once the computer is restarted Finally, I changed the setting to automatic updates to the manual. Since then, the update crashes and fails to install. I tried to run FixIt, convenience store and standalone installer. These also just hang out without ever "disputes" or completion. I also tried the search for updates failed and download them directly from Microsoft. Each time, the dialog box shows the facilities are successful, but they show as failed in the history of the update. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Office 2007 SP2 update tries to install repeatedly, even if Office is not installed

    Hello

    I have a PC running Windows XP Professional, connected to a corporate network.  In the past, Office 97 was installed, but it has since been uninstalled. Any Office program is now reported by Add/Remove programs.  Other computers on the network have Office 97 installed.

    On this particular PC "Automatic Updates" reported that "the 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2 (SP2)" must be installed. I let settle and the notification disappears until the next time I restart the PC, after which he reappears. This happens repeatedly.

    How can I stop this behavior, please?

  • Windows Vista update will not install and causes cell phone restart. Laptop will not reboot and Startup Repair cannot fix the problem.

    Windows Update tried to install 4 days now. Every time he tries it tells me it failed and trying to install in manually. He said then the laptop restarts, but it does not start. Startup Repair tells me that it cannot solve the problems.
    I don't know how to go beyond this problem, can someone help me? I have no disk Vista as it came pre-installed on my laptop. Help, please!

    If your Vista is preinstalled, ANY support for your laptop is the manufacturer of the computer, not Microsoft.

    Try this:

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
