    Hello

Can someone point out to me a document that gives the steps to out place upgrade database ebs 12.1.3 11.1.0 to 11.2.0.3? I tried it myself and it went well but I still don't know if something is still missing because there are still 346 invalid objects in the comic book. Here are the steps I followed:

    On the source:

    Start adpreclone

2 run utlu112i.sql (copy it from the 11.2.0). House)

    Follow the recommendations of utlu112i.sql.

Back up the db of the source and the apps folder

Copy the backup on the target server.

    6 copy the pfile.

    7.

    On target:

    install the 11.2.0.3 software

    apply the required patches

    Restore and recover the database.

    catupgrd.sql run

    Start catuppst.sql;

    Start utlrp.sql;

                 run d bupgdiag. SQL

    run adconfig.sh contextfile = < contextfile > level db.

Stop listener and database and restart to load the new approx.

restored apps folder (backup of the source)

                 run adcfgclone.pl appsTier

    run autoconfig.

    Kind regards

    Hi Vinod,

Please find some off-site links update:

DATABASE UPGRADE 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.3 DATABASE WITH R12.1.3

See also the forum as it's been discussed on several occasions.

Have BTW, regarding your invalid objects you tried recompiling of the objects by using:

1 adadmin > schema compilation apps

    2. connected in sysdba > run @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql

    Best regards

    Hi all

I am upgrading a database of the EBS R12 of 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.4 as per notes 1058763.1 .

While applying patch 17501296 , we have to run the postinstall.sql. Do we need to apply it to the database running the old house?

    Kind regards

    Vinod

You must run this script (and all other scripts to fix post) after upgrading 11.2.0.4 database are completed

Apply the patch on the ORACLE_HOME 11.2.0.3 after you install the software and before you begin the upgrade.

2 - step installation "sqlplus" / as sysdba "SQL>@11gR2Home/md/admin/catmgdidcode.sql after DB Upgrade?

Run the script after the upgrade.

The way simplest would be using quick Clone - run preclone on the database/application, stop the application/database, run post clone on demand database and change the SID.

Documentation fund quick Clone version 11i and 12 [799735.1 ID]
Cloning Oracle Applications Release 11i with rapid Clone [ID 230672.1]

  • A few questions about integration between POET and EBS

    Hi you
I am a new bie BIEE. In those days, have a look at the POET architecture and BIEE components. In the next project, there is some work on the development of POET based on request of the EBS. I have a few questions about integration:

    (1) generally, the POET application and database server is decentralized with application and database EBS? Both BIEE 10g and 11g version can be integrated with EBS R12?

    (2) in the POET administration tool, the first step is to create arrays of physics. If the source application is EBS, is it still necessary to create the physical tables?

    (3) if the physical creation of tables is needed, how to transfer data from the source of BSE BIEE physical tables tables? What ETL tool is preferred for most of developers? generator for warehouse or Oracle data integration?

    (4) during the data transfer phase, there are many many large data to transfer, how to keep the entire? for example, it must transfer 1 million lines of source to physical tables BIEE database, when 50% is completed, users try to open the POET report, they can see the new data of 50% on the reports? is there some transaction in phase control ETL?

could someone give some pointers for me? I am very appreciated if you can also provide any other information.

    Thanks in advance.

    (1) generally, the POET application and database server is decentralized with application and database EBS? Both BIEE 10g and 11g version can be integrated with EBS R12?

You shud look at OBI request here that uses OBIEE as a tool for reporting with pre-built modules. 10g & 11g comes with different versions of the applications of BI that supports sources such as Siebel CRM, EBS, Peoplesoft, JD Edwards, etc...

    (2) in the POET administration tool, the first step is to create arrays of physics. If the source application is EBS, is it still necessary to create the physical tables?

His independent of any source. It comes to OBIEE modeling to create the RPD with all the layers. If you build from scratch, then you will need to create all layers else if BI Apps is used so you can get pre-built RPD and other pre-designed components.

    (3) if the physical creation of tables is needed, how to transfer data from the source of BSE BIEE physical tables tables? What ETL tool is preferred for most of developers? generator for warehouse or Oracle data integration?

BI apps comes with ETL pre-built mapping to use with the tools majorly with Informatica. Only applications BI 7.9.5.2 comes with ODI, but oracle has the intention of having only ODI for any other versions.

User will see still old data because its good enable Cache and serving it after each load.

    See http://www.oracle.com/us/solutions/ent-performance-bi/bi-applications-066544.html...
and a lot more docs on google

    Hope this helps

  • Error KFFComponentConfigurator

    Hello

I'm using the form of coding update 11.1.1.8.2. I have two KFFComponent fields on the form. The EBS team made another environment cloning activity in this environment and I started having error. The list of tasks when I click on the task, it gives an error

I get the message as a "data extract" on the line items on my form. When I check the console I see this error.

If I remove two fields, then, I am able to see the line items, but when I add these two fields KFFComponent I get this error as well as the extraction of data on the form. Teams of said database EBS works fine.

    Hey, Ketan,

Maybe it's because package is missing required for flex fields. This script package are in the zip file of the directory solution accelerator

    1. "11g_Accelerator\CodingForm\scripts\AXF_FLEX_FIELDS.sql".

    2. "11g_Accelerator\CodingForm\scripts\EBS_R12\AXF_LOV.sql".

    3. "11g_Accelerator\CodingForm\scripts\AXF_GRANTS.sql".

Connect to basis of EBS by using patterns of applications and run these scripts in above-mentioned sequence. Then try again. It should solve the problem.

    Kind regards

    Vikrant Korde.

  • SQL * more wild returned data String - spaces (required) are abandoned in character data

Does anyone know how to preserve the credibility of a string returned by using SQL * more variable substitution for use in a title column.

I am under SQL * more script and the output of the securities. I need to find out the name of the company (in the text name of the legal entity). However, the substitution variable returns / outputs the data to the correct record, but corrupts the content of the returned string by spaces dropping (necessary)?

In the script below, I tried several combinations to include using a technique of faking the output as a formula in Excel. It is very effective with the attack anywhere to Oracle/Microsoft problem at the output to Excel. For some varieties in solution, there are two methods to fill the Legal_Entity_Name which each produce the same corrupt result. I use method 2 because it's a little more friendly.

    The output is directed to a local directory C:... If you try to run this script... note the output in the script path is c:\Ora_scripts\Corrupt_Example.xls coil;

In the database, EBS R12, the correct output should be: Industrias Selkirk of Mexico S de RL de CV . (IN THE SCRIPT, THE SAME SELECT STATEMENT IS USED AS THE MAIN QUERY - IT PRODUCES A CORRECT RESULT).

However, data is corrupted to: IndustriasSelkirkdeMexico.

  • FDMEE BefImport

    Hi all

We managed to create two scripts Jython that retrieve data from sql 3rd party databases and populate the tables of the AIF and successfully import, validate and export.  These are housed in the script of the BefImport event.  Since extract us data from multiple source databases (EBS, HFM, Accpac, SUN, etc.), will be our event script just BefImport continue to grow as we add new connections and queries?  Or is it possible to have several BefImport scripts (like we do with regular import scripts in classic)... or can we somehow have several applications of FDM (as in Classic) rather than all human beings in one place?

Also, I noticed that the import data in FDMEE seems to perform validation at the same time.  You can see your validation errors based only on import.  Is it a default setting or something you can deactivate and return to import and validate separately?  Not sure if I like or don't like, but I just want to know my options.

    Much appreciated,

    Mike

    Hello

We managed to create two scripts Jython that retrieve data from sql 3rd party databases and populate the tables of the AIF and successfully import, validate and export.  These are housed in the script of the BefImport event.  Since extract us data from multiple source databases (EBS, HFM, Accpac, SUN, etc.), will be our event script just BefImport continue to grow as we add new connections and queries?  Or is it possible to have several BefImport scripts (like we do with regular import scripts in classic)... or can we somehow have several applications of FDM (as in Classic) rather than all human beings in one place?

You can have only a single Script of BefImport. If you use an open Interface Card, you may also have separate projects to ODI for each source so you don't need the BefImport.

FDMEE and FDM are different about the integration of scripts. In FDMEE, the integration script is replaced by ODI or Script of BefImport process.

There is another option to have separate scripts. You can have 1 script to the BefImport event that calls the external functions built in other scripts.  In this way, you could have BefImport_HFM.py, BefImport_EBS.py,... and the original BefImport.py. This last script call functions in other scripts based on your source.

Also, I noticed that the import data in FDMEE seems to perform validation at the same time.  You can see your validation errors based only on import.  Is it a default setting or something you can deactivate and return to import and validate separately?  Not sure if I like or don't like, but I just want to know my options.

Oracle 11g R2 under 64-bit Linux.  ASM for data files.   I have several questions regarding the backup process:

For the backup and the multiplexing of newspaper, I intend to use the following method to save the data file, online newspapers, archive redo logs and control files (I deliberately put back on two different file system, i.e., one on the raw disk (file system managed by Oracle) and the other as cooks it filesystem ext3 (System)) :

1, put disc in shape like the raw disk for FRA (for data files, online newspapers, archived redo logs and control files)

Disc 2 to the regular file system format, that is, the ext3 file system (for the multiplexing of online newspapers, archived redo logs and control files).

My understanding is that at the time of execution, the RMAN automatically backups data file, control files, online redo logs and newspapers archived on FRA drive.

    (1) for the online redo logs, I believe that it is saved to the FRA and multiplxed in continuous and simultaneous mode to keep data in sync with it again connects to the CMS, right?

    (2) for the data file, backups RMAN for the FRA at some point.  What might be at this time?  02:00 every day or any time I can specify?

    (3) for remote backup.  I use the OEM to schedule a backup, say, increatmental in week and a full backup on weekends.  Where will the data come from?  The disc of FRA? or the ASM disks?

    Thank you

I think my confusion of the concept of automated backup came here (with the exception of the doc):

For all installations, you must choose the storage option that you want to use for the Oracle database files. If you want to enable backups automated installation, you must also choose the storage option that you want to use for recovery files (the area of fast recovery).

So I thought that if I have activated the automatic backups, Oracle automatically back to the FRA.  Now, I understand that I must manually adjust upward (via OEM/RMAN) in order to achieve the "'automatic backups". "

Another thing is on the online redo log backup.

There is no backup of the recovery online newspapers - that's why it is strongly advised you the multiplex.

We know the redo logs are written in alternating.  Once the online journal are full, they are moved to archive (known as archived redo logs).

The redologs online are not moved anywhere.  They are copied to archive the redo logs.

Now suppose a synario, while online redo logs are loaded into the overall area of the system.

This is the second time that you referenced online redo logs as being in the SGA.  No, they are never in the SGA.  Where are you that?  Log buffers are in the LMS, but this is not the same as the files

and being written on, the system gets crashed.  This online redo log should be stored somewhere,

Yes, they must be stored somewhere.  And somewhere on the disk, exactly to the place specified when the redo log group has been defined.  MEMBER SELECT FROM V$ LOGFILE to see.

If not, when do the recovery lateron, information will be missing.

What information do you think will be absent?  Your transaction is not completed, command does not return to you, until the BONE confirmed to oracle changed data wrote in the redologs online - located on the disk.

For what I understand, it is that while online newspapers are written to execution, at the same time, they are multiplxed to other places, asssume I have already the dest locations, such as the FIU or/u01/oradata/onlinelogs.  This way, when do the lateron of recovery, it will be: data files, control files, archive logs + line newspapers.   But I don't know that I'm right?

No, you are not right.  You're confusing instance recovery (aka crash recovery) with recovery of the media database.  Spend time in the manual of Concepts and use the index to find all references to 'redo '.  Read especially the section on the recovery of body and keep firmly in mind that instance recovery is not the recovery of database.

  • Tool of EBS database pre-upgrade

    Hi all

    I'm upgrading basic 10.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.3 EBS
    OS - RHEL 5
    EBS - 12.1.3

During the execution of pre-upgrade too, utl112i.sql get a warning. Please help me can I follow for the warning of the step.

ATTENTION: - > database schemas with dependent objects on the DBMS_LDAP package.
.... Refer to the 11g upgrade to instructions Guide configure the ACL network.
.... Applications the USER has dependent objects.

    Thank you

People, I spent a few days on this exact same issue awhile back, making my upgrade. I've searched and searched and couldn't find anything that makes sense with regard to this step.

Finally, a ticket of MOS with the EBS administration team gave me this answer:

    ......................................................................................................
When you run the AutoConfig (which is part of the upgrade process), AutoConfig runs a script called txkcreateACL.sh, which will create the ACL for you:
    # | DESCRIPTION
    # | Script to create ACLs required for 11 g DB to utl_http pkg
    ......................................................................................................

So, the quick answer is that nothing should be done related to BSE and ACL. After spending a lot of time to this task, I asked DOC ID 881505.1 to be updated to reflect this important information. Then, they added this line in October 2012:

    ......................................................................................................
AutoConfig will manage the configuration of the E-Business Suite network ACLS.
    ......................................................................................................

    I hope this helps.
