Upgrade to EBS database at 11.2.0.3

Hi all

I am in phase of upgrade of database EBS to 10.2.0.4 11.2.0.3

Additional patches: 4247037

Blow is the read me this patch file

opatch % applies
#
# Once applied with opatch, the files are located in $ORACLE_HOME/md/admin
# and $ORACLE_HOME/md/support for patchset_mgdsys_validity.sql
#
# Patch Special Instructions:
# ---------------------------
# To install:
#
# connect to the database using sqlplus / as sysdba
#
sqlplus # > @catmgdidcode
#
# If verification with patchset_mgdapp_validity.sql you find items not valid
# Please run $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql which should solve all problems.
#

Please clarify me on this

1. I just need to 'enforce opatch' in 11.2.0.3 House or I hv to do the step install "sqlplus" / as sysdba "SQL > @11gR2Home/md/admin/catmgdidcode.sql before the upgrade of the database at 11.2.0.3.

2 - step installation "sqlplus" / as sysdba "SQL > @11gR2Home/md/admin/catmgdidcode.sql after upgrade to DB?

Thank you
SAL

Apply the patch on the ORACLE_HOME 11.2.0.3 after you install the software and before you begin the upgrade.

2 - step installation "sqlplus" / as sysdba "SQL>@11gR2Home/md/admin/catmgdidcode.sql after DB Upgrade?

Run the script after the upgrade.

Thank you

    Thank you

Please refer to (Notes Oracle EBS R12 interoperability with Oracle 10.2.0.4 [1135955.1 ID] database).

One reason that you want to upgrade to 10.2.0.4?

You can switch to 10.2.0.5 by mentioning:

    Database 10 g 2 10.2.0.5 certified with E-Business Suite
    https://blogs.Oracle.com/stevenChan/entry/db_10gr2_10205_ebs

    Otherwise, proceed to 11.2.0.3 stating:

  • EBS database statistics

    Hi Xperts

I'm new to EBS and I have a doubt: what is the right way to keep statistics on the database of my EBS environment?.

I found that many tables have updated statistics on my EBS environment and also a reading I got can´t take the statistics with DBMS_STATS

I read a white paper from Oracle:

New white paper: best practices for the collection of statistics of EBS database

    https://blogs.Oracle.com/stevenChan/entry/new_white_paper_guidelines_for

In this white paper, I read that I have to use: FND_STATS , I just want to be sure with your advice

    Thank you for your help

    Concerning

    Hi J, a,

Just use request competing to collect statistics of schema. Although it uses internally the fnd_stats, but its simple and standard way to gather statistics for all schemas.

You can find a simple and nice explanation here: http://www.appsdba.info/docs/oracle_apps/performance/GatherSchemaStatistics.pdf

    Thank you

  • Why a sql statement has become slow after upgrade to 11g database

    Hello

My previous version of the database is 9I and any sql statement are well-developed.
but after upgrading to 11g database, a sql statement become slowly.

My senior dba friend told me there are a few different calculating methods from 9i to 11g.
is any body can explain this different methods from 9i to 11g, and what should be attention to calculate at what level 9i to 11g. I thank.

    Sean

The administrator of yours is correct. What he meant, 9i, the works of the optimizer with different formulas and 11 g, there are different formulas. PS this sometimes causes when you upgrade from 9i (or even 10g too), analyze the queries that worked with RBO in 9i perfectly and used indexes, all of a sudden they stop using it because the CBO think not that this is a good choice. It would be too difficult to put formulas here by anyone, but what I can say is that to buy a book.
    http://www.Amazon.com/cost-based-Oracle-fundamentals-experts-voice/DP/1590596366

And practice on 9i, 10g and 11g. It would say a lot of formulas used by oracle.

I'm upgrading our database of 11.1 to 11.2.0.4 EBS Note 1058763.1 said the examples of oracle database installation is required. The database examples guide also gives this link: Oracle database software download | Oracle Technology Network | Oracle

    Am I missing something here...?

    Hello

The two 11.2.0.4 of the database and the CD examples are available in the patch 13390677.

The part of the database is included in the files 1 & 2.

The examples CD is in file 6.

    Thank you

People, I spent a few days on this exact same issue awhile back, making my upgrade. I've searched and searched and couldn't find anything that makes sense with regard to this step.

Finally, a ticket of MOS with the EBS administration team gave me this answer:

    ......................................................................................................
When you run the AutoConfig (which is part of the upgrade process), AutoConfig runs a script called txkcreateACL.sh, which will create the ACL for you:
    # | DESCRIPTION
    # | Script to create ACLs required for 11 g DB to utl_http pkg
    ......................................................................................................

So, the quick answer is that nothing should be done related to BSE and ACL. After spending a lot of time to this task, I asked DOC ID 881505.1 to be updated to reflect this important information. Then, they added this line in October 2012:

    ......................................................................................................
AutoConfig will manage the configuration of the E-Business Suite network ACLS.
    ......................................................................................................

    I hope this helps.

  • the upgrade of EBS 11i database 9i (9.2.0.6) to 9.2.0.8

    Hi hussein.

    RHEL 4
    EBS 11i

    I'm upgrading of Database 9i (9.2.0.6) 9.2.0.8.
    I read the note:
    Oracle9i Patch Set Notes - version 2 (9.2.0.8) Patch Set 7 for Linux x 86
I just don't understand the following:
    5.4.2 Recommended hangcheck-timer Configuration Defaults
The following are the recommended default configuration settings for the hangcheck-timer module. These are in addition to the recommendations for parameters in the Oracle RAC documentation.
    I do hang check timer?

    Thank you very much

    I do hang check timer?

It is a RAC instance? If this isn't the case, skip this step.

    Thank you

    Hello

PL ensure that you apply only the central units or power supplies, not both. These patches can be involved - you will need to choose the path of the CPU or the path of the PSU. PL see Section 7 MOS Doc 854428.1 (Patch updates Set to day for Oracle products).

It is already mentioned in the first link referenced above.

You can check the log of the hotfix file to know more details.

If the hotfix information are not uploaded properly he will be transferred to the database the next time you run adoption, please find following excerpt from 12.2 doc.

How to fix information is stored

The adoption of utility stores fix information in the database automatically whenever it applied a patch successfully. However, if the patch is not applied successfully, or when you run adoption in pre-installation mode, patch history is not written directly to the database, but instead, is written in these hotfix information files:

    • javaupdates.txt, which contains information about the changes to the Java files
    • adpsv.txt, which contains information about the changes to all files except the files Java

Note: In the name of the file, hh is in 24-hour format.

These two files are in the /admin/ directory. Every time that you run adoption, it checks that the existence of the information of the files in the patch directory. If it finds them, it automatically downloads the information contained in the database of the history of patch. If the download is successful, adoption, and then deletes the files in the directory. The adoption of log files if the upload has succeeded or failed.

  • The upgrade of eBS 12.1.1-> 12.1.3, adpatch hangs on AR_GTA_CONSOL_TEMP.xdf

    Hi all

Having just successfully upgraded my environment 12.0.6 eBS--> 12.1.1, I'm trying now to reach from 12.1.1 12.1.3.

I am running patch 9239090 , and everything worked well, until he hit AR_GTA_CONSOL_TEMP.xdf. My upgrade was 'hooked' on this issue for good over an hour (maybe approaching two hours now), and nothing seems to happen.

Looking for the o/s, the app server area seems to be very slow, the load average around 0.1 to 0.4. I see a lot of "java" process, but they all seem pretty inactive. The database server also seems to be slowed down.

I don't know if it's cool, or just running really slow.

I tried both google and the search of MOS, but had no chance to find any information on this issue.

    Oh, if it's important, platform/OS is Linux - x 86-64/RHEL5.7.

Clues, ideas or pointers would be appreciated.

    Thank you

  • 8.0.5 extracted EBS database

    Hi hussein.

We have a customer Oracle Apps 11.0.3 on NT with Ora DB 8.0.5
We try to migrate it to AIX 11.5.10.2.
We implement and fresh install EBS 11i on AIX.
We'll extract 8.0.5 .csv data and charge using the charger of the interface.
The problem is, the NT Server is saturated and the hardware cannot be upgraded or added space.
I can't export the side of NT Server because no space is available.
I have a laptop with enough space to export data from the database of NT.
My laptop has 8i client. If the customer 8i can be able to export the 8.0.5 db?
Since on the customer site, we limit from 08:00-17:00 hours and no work on Saturday and Sunday.
I want to export all of the database and import to the office so that we can play on it and have our own time doing
What we want to do on the database. for example the extraction.
This project contract barely of liquidated damages (LDP) we have to finish it in time.

My question is how to export data from NT using my client oracle in my laptop?
