Hello

my database of catalog SID is PROD @ rmandb
and target database is SID PROD @ test8

How do I configure the tnsnames and connect to the database to record the catalog
RMAN target sys/sys@PROD rcvcat rman/rman@PROD
Save the database;

Verification through tnsping on RMANDB

1. is it necessary to have different SIDs?

2. for the two database DBID is different.

Thank you.

Name two different databases, the same is a very stupid thing to do. I correct that if I could. However, assuming that 'rmandb' and 'test8' are the names of two different servers, your tnsnames would look like this

prod_rmandb =
       (DESCRIPTION =
         (ADDRESS_LIST =
           (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = rmandb)(PORT = 1521))
             )
         (CONNECT_DATA =
           (SERVICE_NAME = prod)
         )
       )

prod_tes8 =
       (DESCRIPTION =
         (ADDRESS_LIST =
           (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = test8)(PORT = 1521))
             )
         (CONNECT_DATA =
           (SERVICE_NAME = prod)
         )
       )

And your connection string would be

rman target sys/sys@prod_test8 rcvcat rman/rman@prod_rmandb

    Hello

    How knowledge/check if the RMAN backup was performed using a current control file or database catalog? I mean RMAN prompt or sqlplus is it possible to know.

    Thank you

    You're welcome my friend

    You can see them using two methods.

    as I mentioned above, you can see them connect to the catalog database and you can query using the view that I sent

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/backup.112/e10642/rcmreprt.htm#BRADV89601

    the other method is the list command, you must use the list command after connecting using rman "rman target / catalog cat_user/cat_pass@catdbtns" command

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/backup.112/e10642/rcmreprt.htm#BRADV8136

    Check the value of the control_file_record_keep_time parameter. The default value is 7 days. in the output of the list command, if you can see the old backups to the value, you must be sure that the backup information comes from the catalogue database

    SELECT * FROM parameter $ v where name = 'control_file_record_keep_time '.

    an example of command list

    the list of completed database before backup ' sysdate-10'.

  • Cannot get the remote database catalog

    Hello

    I use the ODBC Oracle (version 11.2.0.1.0) gateway to connect to a database from Intersystems Cache. I can run a query of the following type

    Select * from remote_table@cachedb

    However, the issuance

    Select * from all_tables@cachedb returns the following error

    >
    ORA-28500: connection between ORACLE and a non-Oracle system has sent this message:

    Obviously, there is no table named "all_tables' to the remote database. I was under the impression that the executable "dg4ODBC" translate properly a query on "all_tables', 'object' etc. in the ODBC equivalent to interrogate the database catalog.

    How we supposed to to query the remote database catalog?

    Hi all

    I created an instance of database, rmancat, to be my instance of catalog.

  • Can I merge a JPG and RAW file into a catalog and keep your changes?

    I used to shoot RAW and JPG and always used to all copy in the same folder. That worked well, but was a bit pointless as the JPG served as only a temporary preview until the RAW was loaded in behind her. For the speed of editing events, I started to divide files in two separate folders and import, but tag and basic edits, crops etc. on jpg files, so for the use of the 'News' site, then work on any higher quality customer since the FIRST requirement. Would be nice if I could later merge the two together to make these fundamental changes - and sides etc - then were applied to the RAW files. They have the same names - bar extensions, of course - be renamed by LR import. I tried on a test session, but it just seems to add separate JPG and RAW images to the catalog. Is it possible to him have associated the RAW not published with the edited JPG?

    Guy

    Guy,

    I don't want to get into or the not-so-rights of your workflow.

    You can try Syncomatic Plugin from John Beardythat will synchronize the metadata and possibly develop settings between different file formats with the same (or similar) base name. Subsequently you can stack the Raws with JPEG files, possibly using Auto carpet when capturing".

    But remember that application development parameters of a file to a Raw JPEG may not create the desired corrections, as the base is something completely different.

  • photos should be on the hard disk and not a network before catalog reader can find them.

    My photos are on a network drive. I created a catalog on the hard drive of my computer of these photos. When I later open the catalog, Lightroom indicates that the file is not found. Photos should be on the hard disk and not a network before catalog reader can find them?

    "Can't find" indicates Lightroom does not know the location of the photo because it has been moved, deleted or renamed outside of Lightroom.

    To resolve this problem, follow these instructions: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm

    Photos can be on a network drive.

  • How to export the images from the Collection as a catalog and then merge with another catalog?

    How to transfer a version edited photo in a single LR catalog to a new LR catalog that has no editing.

    Tip! The Lightroom Catalog is a database file and contains no actual photo files, all it contains is information about the files that you have imported and info on the work you have done with the original image file.

    Please provide information on what you are trying to reach.

    The normal workflow is to create a catalog of the original files and then you can have virtual collections, smart Collections, Copies to make alternative options.

  • Missing folder then drag and drop on the OBIEE catalog view

    Hi guys.

    I had a folder on shared folders and I moved it to a different folder on shared too, using a simple drag and drop on the catalog on OBIEE view and everything by moving my browser crashed.

    When I logged on again, my folder disappeared. He disappeared, I couldn't find it on the place of origin or target folder.

    Any idea to solve this problem? I lost more than 50 analysis and 10 dashboards.

    Kind regards.

    Hello Luiz,

    The easiest way is to restore a backup of your catalog, you have one, right?

    In case you have not one there is 2 things you can do:

    (1) set up a backup of your server of BI to the next crash drag & drop

    (2) try to look if you find the folder on the file system: If the problemcs file does not exist or has a problem objects are invisible in OBIEE, so first check if the physical content is still there and if find you there is a way to get it back...

    In MAX, I show the following: a cRIO-9073 with NOR-RIO 3.0.0 installed. My system software has NEITHER-RIO 3.0. In LabView 2009, when I try and add the cRIO to my project in LabView 2009 in New-> targets and devices, I don't have a list in time real CompactRIO and my cRIO does not appear. I tried to add manually with its IP address, but it does not work either. I've updated the cRIO to LabView real-time 9.0 software.

    Is there other software that I need to update on the cRIO so that it is visible in LabView 2009? Do I need a new version of NOR-RIO?

    Thanks for any help.

    I upgraded from NEITHER RIO NOR-RIO 3.2.1 3.0 and LabView 2009 seems happy.

  • Got a new computer and can not copy the catalog on my USB key.

    I have a new Dell laptop and have downloaded Lightroom to my new computer. I tried my backup from my old computer catalog and he said: "the process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file. I already tried to delete the lrcat.lock file as Adobe said to do and it did not work. I have no idea what to do! Help, please!

    Close LR. Open Windows Explorer (Windows File Manager), or on the link for computer workstation work, Documents, or any other link that will open the Windows File Manager.

    Copy the LR catalog file which is normally located in a subfolder of your user account on the USB drive. Then copy it to your new computer, place it in the same WAY as it comes. You must also copy all your image files or if they are all on a disk external drive connect this external drive to your new computer. If all your images are on your internal drive and then when you copy them on they must also reside in the same WAY that they were on your old computer.

  • I am trying to open Lightroom and he says: "the Lightroom catalog named"Lightroom Catalog"cannot open another application already has its opening.

    lightroom error.PNG

    I tried to open Lightroom and this message keeps popping up. I restarted and shut down completely my computer and that did not work. I uninstalled Lightroom and re installed several times and that has not worked. And I went in my task manager and closed all applications and that has not worked. I don't know what else to do. Help, please.

    Using Windows Explorer, go to the folder containing the catalog, it is usually inside the images folder.

    Delete the file that ends with the extension .lock. Do not remove anything else, now launch Lightoom.

  • Records and photographs disappear from my catalog and LR but remain on my hard drive.

    I'm totally frustrated.  I used LR for years without problem until in recent months.   I had folders disappear from my catalog.  Import photos from my card to my hard drive using the LR import feature.  I then note my photos, put some in the collections, use keywords and perform a basic treatment.  However when I get back later - the folder and photos are no longer in the catalog or anywhere in LR.  The photos remain on my hard drive in the same folder that I copied them originally.  I can import again in LR, but lose all the editing, cataloging, etc, I did the first time.  This has happened regularly in the past months.  Tonight, I have imported some new photos and realized that 13 files and hundreds of photos that I took 6/14-8/6 were missing from the catalog and the LR but are right where they are supposed to be on my hard drive.   This isn't a problem with linking a file in LR in the folder on the hard disk - file and the photos are not anywhere in the LR catalog...  I have no idea how to solve this problem.   I have no idea how to solve this problem.  Any ideas?  Help?

    Do a search on your drive and see how many catalogues are about it. You are looking for *.lrcat. Sounds more like you have several catalogs and or you are using a type of system of automatic backup and for some reason LR among the old default catalog backups.

    Either that or the catalog is being corrupted, which means you have a hardware problem. Could be the hard drive or RAM.

  • Sharing of inconsistency between the API and the user interface for catalog

    In the vCloud Director UI, you can go to the properties of a catalog and share TWO everyone in read-only AND specific users/groups to have full control of the value. The API seems to allow to BE ReadOnly value all or specific users/groups to full control. Even when I put the two in the UI, when I do a GET with the API, if IsSharedToEveryone is set to true, the individual user/group access control settings are not displayed. They are mutually exclusive?

    So who is correct? the API or the UI?

    If the user interface is correct, how can I get the same result with the API?

    What I want to achieve, is to allow full control to a specific group of users and read-only for everyone.

    The workaround is to have a group set for total control and another with everyone in the org in a different group of read-only value.

    Hello

    This is a limitation of v1.0 of the vCD REST API. It is already fixed and will be available in the next version.

    In this case, the user interface is correct.

  • 2 days (and more) to import a catalog of photos 10 k in LR5?

    I've recently updated to of LR4 LR5... update in this catalogue has been relatively quick and seamless. I move now a few things and created a new catalog in LR5 and I import catalog LR5 "old."

    This 'old' LR catalog has about 10 k photos inside (without RAWs, high-resolution JPEGs and videos), and the import process in the new catalogue has worked for about 2 days now (this is my second attempt, after I killed the first attempt thought something was wrong because it took so long).

    I read several threads on this import process is slow, but it's a bit much either? Any ideas on what could be going on here? Or maybe other solutions?

    Thank you!

    Andres, I checked your catalog and get the same thing as you but no error message in my attempt.

    However, I did try the export as catalog and then import those exported in a new and that everything worked well, then I would say going in this direction because it is obviously something lost in the original. It will be better to have a catalog of don't move forward.
