DataGuard swinging back on primary eve:

I spent my primary database to the standby to the database successfully.
I'm now trying to switch back sleep in elementary school

However, I run a small problem.

I'm using the command

ALTER system set log_archive_dest_2 = reporter;

but I get the error:

incremental changes to log_archive_dest_2 with spfile;

(I don't have this error when swicthing primary fron of Eve)

Sorry, it's just want to confirm, original specified validation _2 log_archive_dest_2 and not log_archive_dest_State.

Is this correct?

    Dear all,

    I have a primary - eve of installing oracle 10 g 2 on Linux. My backup database is a database of physical intelligence.
    It was working fine since there an abnormal reboot on the computer to sleep. My primary database OEM says:
    August 7, 2011 11:28:46 Data Guard of STANDBYDB status is error ORA-03135: connection lost contact. It shows in detail: error ORA-01034: ORACLE is not available

    Now the problem is that my archive logs is not applied to the standby database. When I query on the primary database, last few records are as follows:

    Select sequence #, applied to the order of v$ archived_log by sequence #.

    (2) I can't tnsping my database primary data pending
    (3) I can see the archived logs is passed from primary to standby, are there physical files.

    Kindly help me to solve this problem.

    Thanks, Imran

    You can see the values for ORACLE_HOME used on the backup site.

    I would say looking for multiples / characters, or a leak late in the ORACLE_HOME /.

    A mismatch between the value in listener.ora and the value defined in the shell over that Eve was launched could cause something like this.

  • steps for Data Guard with a primary eve and 2

    Hello

    Database: 10.2.0.4, 11.2.0.1
    Operating system: Windows, Unix

    A > primary database
    B > database ensures 1
    C > database ensures 2

    I want to configure * 2 Eve * databases for the single primary database.
    Allows to take, A, B and C are my machines. My Data Guard configuration will be like, * archive logs will be mobile * A to B and A to C.

    If I do all passage between and B , now that b is primary and remaining has and C are pending data bases. At this point also, Archives of the newspapers should move from B to A and B to C. In addition, even should arrive from C to A and C to B, if I make the passage between B and C. If all goes well, then I'll do switchback to the main database (A) primary.

    How should I mention PFILE in all machines , parameters like

  • primary eve exact latency?

    Hi all

    How can I determine the correct offset between when a transaction is committed on the primary database and when that transaction is written in the newspaper to watch on the physics of the day before... ?

    OEM Grid has a metric called Transport Lag which seems to be related to this time but he always report a delay in Transport of 5 to 15 seconds even when our redo generation rate is very low (200 Kbps). The primary and the standby are connected by a gigabit relatively underutilized network so this offset is unnecessarily high.

    Then, first - is the statistics of the Transport specific Lag (just select * v $ dataguard_stats where name = 'delay of transport' ;))
    If not how can I accurately calculate the time difference between validation YVERT of acquisitions on the primary and the timestamp of the transaction, arriving on the eve... ?

    In the published Oracle doc ' Data Guard redo Transport network best practices 10 gr 2 ' the author states that he has an offset of less than 2 seconds with a rate of generation of redo 2Mbytes/s on a network with a latency of less than 1 ms. " Our network latencies are also less than 1ms and our redo generation rate is 1 tenth of their still our Transport delay is always between 5 and 15 seconds.

    Thanks in advance

    I use physics standy by db

    This means that my watch is in a State of Mount, so cannot run this query
    in this issue >

    You're right, I did mention that you had to open the db in read-only mode and run the queries.

  • AirPlay guard swinging back on iPhone

    I do not have wifi, but it worked before. I plugged my phone the business center to my apartment complex and is where it seems to go haywire. Now, it does not connect. WiFi on but not connected, it's Bluetooth. Still no connection. AirPlay on my phone will automatically switch to iPhone AppleTV. What I am doing wrong?

    Perhaps you are setting up the iPhone as a personal hotspot so it and the Apple TV can send data back without needing to connect to a router/wifi access point?

  • Why an Add - keep it swinging back on Ask to activate when I set it to always turn on?

    So my question of the unit is not resolved, but for some reason, whenever I put it to "Always enable", every time I leave the tab it switches back on 'ask to activate '.

    There is a problem of non-public safety with the Unity Web Player, so temporarily may not be programmed to always enable to avoid untrusted sites using this. I hope that this will be resolved in the next version. However, in the meantime, you can give a site permission using the Plugin notification icon.

    If this is not familiar: when you visit a site that wants to use the unit, you should see a notification icon in the address bar and usually (but not always) one of the following values: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an information bar slides between the toolbar and in the page area.

    The plugin notification in the address bar icon in general looks like a small, dark gray Lego block; It can be red for high-risk plugins.

    If you see a good reason to use the unit, and the site looks trustworthy, you can go ahead and click on the notification icon in the address bar and he approve it. Firefox should then load the player into the page.

    is that what sounds all medium/normal?

    With the size and speed of this transport, this model will influence some.  There are screws under a decorative cover on the two ends of the support that can sway a lot worse if these screws are not tightened.  It seems to me that this is a normal operation you are familiar.

  • Accordion Panel swinging back on layout after refresh

    Hello

    I have an Accordion widget with two panels. On the first Panel is a welcome screen and the second a user registration form. In this form, I have validation on the server side. If the information entered fails validation of the severside, refreshing the page, when the first Panel is opened, which contains the Welcome screen. Does anyone know how to maintain the current open Panel after a refresh of the page, so the remains of the user on the second Accordion Panel, containing the form?

    Any help would be fantastic,

    Thank you.

    How to link to a specific Spry Panel is described in this tutorial on my website: http://foundationphp.com/tutorials/spry_url_utils.php.

    The tutorial addresses pass values in the URL, so only the basic principles apply to your scenario. During the validation of a form server side, you need to use the POST method, so you'll need to adapt everything to use conditional logic side server like this:

    var Accordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("Accordion1", {defaultPanel: });

  • ARCHIVELOG-gap - and Eve-primary data base: possible alert?

    Hello

    Which can be determined by the message "Sequence gap rΘcupΦre in thread 1, sequence gap 14918-14918 ' in the alert.log to standby-database.
    Is there a mechanism implemented in the GridControl to check if there is a gap?

  • Passage of the roles - ensures primary school

    Hi all

    We have a requirement in our environment to switch mode on primary eve. This is to stop the machine from primary database since it is now more than 350 days.

    I have a few crossing the reg of doubts.

    We have two servers

    1 Server1-Prim - main database hosts with SID - LPBT

    LISTENER - WITH SID-LPBT ON 1521 PORT WITH HOST = 80.0.1.187

    TNSNAMES with entries for the two services LPBT and STBYLPBT

    2 Server2-Stby - secondary database hosts with SID - STBYLPBT

    LISTENER - WITH SID-STBYLPBT ON PORT 1521 WITH HOST = 80.0.0.240

    TNSNAMES with entries for the two services LPBT and STBYLPBT

    Our is a physical standby and passage procedure below of the manually using SQL commands instead of dataguard

    Digital allows a primary and standby to switch roles without data loss.

    No need to recreate the old primary school. Conducted for a scheduled maintenance.

    Steps to follow:

    1. check if primary can be switched to sleep mode

    SQL > select switchover_status from database v$.

    If returns the value "TO_STANDBY", its good to pass the primary role of Eve.

    2 convert primary to standby

    SQL > alter database validation to the transition to physical standby mode;

    If the value is "ACTIVE SESSIONS" in step 1, then

    SQL > alter database validation to the transition to physical standby with the stop of the session;

    3. stop and restart the old primary as before

    SQL > shutdown immediate;

    SQL > startup nomount;

    At this point, we now have two databases, such as the day before.

    4. on the basis of data target standby, check status of the digital switchover. If the value is "TO_PRIMARY" then

    SQL > alter database validation at the grade crossing;

    If the value is "ACTIVE SESSIONS", then add "WITH the STOP of the SESSION" to above the command.

    5. stop and restart the new primary database

    SQL > shutdown immediate; start-up;

    6. start back on new database (former primary) pending

    SQL > alter database mount standby

    SQL > alter recover managed standby database disconnect log file using current;

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    My question is after the transition to digital, if we connect as 'conn sys@lpbt as sysdba' since sqlplus window from another pc, how the request will go to the new primary database server (80.0.0.240) since tnsnames only will point to the old principal server (80.0.1.187).

    can you please explain how it works, or should we add a few more entries to the listener or files tnsnames.

    Please notify

    We have three databases and we use the db_links inside these three db for transactions

    so can we not use as main stbylpbt, as db_links does refer to db_link-host - lpbt solve in tnsnames who will fail.

    Yes, you are right. You have to re-create these links db to point to your new primary database ("old Standby") using guests as "STBYLPBT".

    As mentioned previously, you must redirect all your applications and users to point to the new primary database by making use of the "STBYLPBT" entry TNS.

    in this case, after the success, if we need to change db_names (vice_versa) and listeners as was before

    You don't have to do anything with regard to the 'db_name' or with the listener. Db_name remains the same on the primary and implementing standby.

    I don't understand the reason for you to change the listener. 1 listener on the server must be able to accept connections.

    80.0.0.240 is your host before and there is a listener on this. After a failover, it becomes your primary database. You would try to connect to the new primary database with input TNS "STBYLPBT." It reminds the host '80.0.0.240' which is your new primary database. Hope this clears.

    STBYLPBT =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS_LIST =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 80.0.0.240)(PORT = 1521))

    )

  • Small questions about Dataguard

    Hello

    I have a few questions about Dataguard. I'm new to DG, carry me so for the display of these fundamental questions:

    We plan to install Oracle 12 c to Win 2012 R2 with primary and physical intelligence on different physical servers. We are looking for HA solution, but cannot afford to license CARS. The two primary & Eve are going to be in the same data center connected via a 1 gigabit network. So I have a few questions related to it.

    (a) since both of our primary & Eve is going to be in the same data center with good connectivity. Can I assume that although Data guard is more DR solution, in our case it would be HA solution since we have no network latency.

    (b) is it safe to assume that where primary fails, then the day before can automatically take the role of primary education without any manual intervention, possibly using Dataguard broker?

    (c) so I understand that where primary breaks down, the existing connections transfer automatically from primary to standby db (most recent primary), but how my web based java application will know that more recent connections must be sent to the standby db Server (more recent primary)? I guess net Oracle has a provision to handle this? Who can be automated?

    (d) given that I have only 2 physical servers, can I deploy broker Dataguard on a normal PC (since it is a thin client) assuming the PC is kept in the data center and is online 24/7?

    (e) I was reading about the modes of Protection, account required to our current situation & infrastructure, I choose 'Maximum availability Mode' instead of 'maximum Performance '.

    (f) what is your point of view about Oracle integrated security? I hear too much on Oracle failsafe, because people generally go to a combination of CARS & dataguard for HA? We have a few additional storage that can be shared between the two servers, but I feel with literally no DG network latency can provide us HA.

    Concerning

    Learner

    (a) since both of our main & secondary is going to be in the same data center with good connectivity. Can I assume that although Data guard is more DR solution, in our case it would be HA solution since we have no network latency.

    Well it will not provide the level of HA that is RAC. RAC is a Transparent Application failover. With a physical standby, you need to apply some delay for a failover operation. You can implement the observer that can automate the failover and reduce the time.

    (b) is it safe to assume that where primary fails, then the day before can automatically take the role of primary education without any manual intervention, possibly using Dataguard broker?

    This isn't really the DG broker, but rather the observer you will need to implement. The DG broker automate failover. It will be the observer who "sees" (where its name) that the principal is down and initiate the failover process. To do this, the observer will use the DG broker, so it will be necessary.

    You'll want to read on the QuickStart failover. http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/articles/smiley-fsfo-084973.html

    (d) given that I have only 2 physical servers, can I deploy broker Dataguard on a normal PC (since it is a thin client) assuming the PC is kept in the data center and is online 24/7?

    The DG broker is required to run on the database server. The DG broker will run on the primary and standby. I think that what you're asking really anything is if the observer can run on a PC. Yes it can. However, it is probably not a good idea. A PC will not have the internal hardware redundancy, a server can have. If the PC can fail more often than to a server. And if the gods are bad, it will fail when you most need.

    (e) I was reading about the modes of Protection, account required to our current scenario & infrastructure, I choose 'Maximum availability Mode' instead of 'maximum Performance '.

    Your choice should depend on the amount of data loss is acceptable.

    (f) what is your point of view about Oracle integrated security? I hear too much on Oracle failsafe, because people generally go to a combination of CARS & dataguard for HA? We have a few additional storage that can be shared between the two servers, but I feel with literally no DG network latency can provide us HA.

    Oracle integrated security only works on Windows with a MS Failover Cluster. Real DBAs do not have Oracle on MSFC.

    See you soon,.

    If you see your date system current and last does the end is not even a second. So probably there is no delay I would say.
    You can test by setting the timeout setting in log_archive_dest_2 (or) disable log_archive_Dest_2 for a while do two or three switches of newspaper and made attention to discrepancies between primary & eve and how does it point of view.
