DB related links wait event

Dear Sir

In one of my db, I use db link to generate the report for a different database. The db in which we use the dblink to remote databases; the following wait events are showed continuous:

PX Deq Credit: send blkd

PX Deq: Execution Msg

SQL * Net message from client

They indicate any problem? How can we get rid of it?

    Sounds like an extension not desired may have snuck on your system, perhaps as a ride-along with some free software.

    Can I conclude that the most important issue on the database is db file sequential read and should be the subject of an investigation?

    Or rows returned are meaningless on the performance? Tunning?

    A wait event isn't a problem. It is just a little work of the database and the database is there work wo.

    This is a problem only if you too (in many calls of i/o) or slow (long of IO call duration)

    Your instance has been started just two minutes ago, no? This is not very important. Caches must warm up.

    You need to install Statspack. Read about it ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/spdoc.txt

    I have a doubt about oracle wait events, specifically of "SQL * Net message from client. I've read a lot about this, I've seen some say that network and other material resources can provoke him, and saw that the problems in the application code can cause it too. I am tracking a few tests here and I don't have that chooses are the double event, usually a lot of SQL * Net message to client waiting (I used sqlplus, developer sql and pl/sql). Can someone explain to me why? Another question is where this wait type cause interference, meet it demand for the database and stays on hold and do not meet another request so that the wait is over, is it? The waiting just finish when the application closes the database connection or there is another way to end the waiting?

    Do you run them from your server applications or from the DB server itself?

    "SQL * Net client message" is an idle wait event although he'd still explain to the elapsed time of the query.

    It indicates only that the database is waiting for the other entries of the customer and when he expects the DB, those expectations get incremented.

    I suggest you explore size SDU, RECV_BUF_SIZE, and SEND_BUF_SIZE parameters.

  • Related links?

    I create a file that will connect to other PDF files.  All the files are on a flash drive.  The finished product will be copied in several other flash drives to be distributed to customers.

    How I have same link to files if I want to open them in a browser?

    I know that I can create the link and choose "Open a file" and Acrobat will guide me through to find the file, but I want to open it in a browser, so should I choose "Open web page", but then I don't know what to use as the URL.  I've read about relative links and I think that's what I need.

    I saw an example of a person with the same concept.  The files are on a flash drive, and when I looked at the link information that he was ready to open a web page.  The link itself was /somefoldername/thefilename.pdf that's all.  And if clicked it opens the pdf file in a browser.  Key is also that I can take this USB to any computer and it works.  So I know that this is possible, I'm missing a modest but significant step.

    You don't need to use web links to it. If you create links in Acrobat for files that are located on the same drive as the "master" file, they are always relative.

    I have a remote control and test server (xampp) set up and everything worked until I changed it. But the links are now displayed like this

    Well Yes.  It's the behaviour expected of a local test server.  The reason is that the / drills all the way up to your hard drive instead of the site xampp folder.  If you publish your remote site, your root relative links will work as it should.  Just trust your code.

  • Root Relative Linking is not possible?

    I'm trying to set up my site so that the links are relative to the root of the Site, but it does not allow me to do.  I can click on the button of the root of the Site in local news, but when I click on save and then go back to it, she returned to the Document-related links.  I do not have a Web URL that I can enter in, and I have to use the link relative to the root (I can go into detail as to why, but I'm going to keep for now).

    This problem is resolved in the latest version of Dreamweaver which is Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2014. Please upgrade to the latest version to prevail the fix.

    (1) how the site root-relative links work in DW and the server? Or...

    (2) how to reliably automate change of hundreds of links relative to the root of the form

    /images/image.jpg relating to the document?

    In other words, to

    .. /images/image.jpg or

    .. /.. /images/image.jpg or

    .. /.. /.. /images/image.jpg etc... According to the location of the directory.

    The old format (/images/image.jpg ) used to work properly in my previous Setup of DW 8 but appear grey in DW after 'redevelopment' of mac cs5.5 DW. (they look good on the server, but it is difficult to change the image-heavy pages locally when they are all gray).

    I tried to change the files to how DW creates relative links root now:

    /public_html/images/image.jpg, which is a flow of root very easy, attractive, since there is a one-to-one mapping. These look great in DW, but are detailed on the server!

    I looked at the "Advanced" site configuration, and it seemed that it would be possible for the nuke part /public_html/ of my server info... but it also seemed that there was the potential to do damage, modification of these parameters, which are automatically generated from our server connection settings, which seem to work.

    The "links from the document / site root" toggle... did change how DW interprets existing links, or simply change the value by default when you add a link?  I did 80% of the file... before paper links I wondered if relative to the root is not better?

    Of course, it seems less ambiguous for all these pictures if theres a way to make the relative root works for the mode of creation of DW, DW link checking and server.

    Think of your site definition is set up wrong.  public_html should not be to anywhere in your local site.  It is up to your remote site under the directory root definition.  See screenshot.  In my example, the root directory of the server is htdocs /.  This is where you put public_html

  • Wait events "direct path write" and "direct path read".

    We have a query that takes more than 2 minutes. It's a 9.2.0.7 database. We took the request trace/tkprof and identified there so manay 'direct entry path' and 'direct path read' wait for events in the trace file.

    WAITING #3: nam = "Write" direct path ela = 5 201 p1 = p2 = p3 70710 = 15
    WAITING #3: nam = "direct path read" ela = 170 201 p1 = p2 = 71719 p3 = 15

    In the light of the foregoing, "p1 = 201" is a the file_id, but we could not find any data file, the temporary file, the control file with this id # 201.
    Can you please let us know what "p1 = 201" here, how to identify the file that is causing the problem.

    Whatever it is:

    Read the file live and direct file writing events are reads and writes of tablespace TEMP. Wait events, folder # is reported as db_files + id of a temporary file. So, 201 means temp #1 file.

    Now, as to your real performance issue.

    Without seeing the SQL and the corresponding implementation plan, it is impossible to be sure. However, the most frequent causes of temporary entries are the operations of sorting and group by operations.

    If you decide to display your plan and SQL execution, please be sure to make it readable by formatting it. Information on how to do this can be found here.

    I have Troubé trying to change the absolute links to relative links in my project.

    I want to have my projects open in any electronic environment. Naturally for this I need to be able to use relative links.

    I can't make them work any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    You can use Captivate settings to generate an Autorun file and then edit it with any text editor so that loading the CD ROM it will open the menu file of publication.  If all of your records are at the root of the CD you have just the autorun of the value to something like folder1/index.htm, but just check whether or not you change the forward slashes so that they become the backslashes instead of slashes.  (Oblique are used in web environments, whereas the backslashes are more used in LAN link paths).  I don't remember if it made a difference, then you would be well advised to knock out a CD or two and do tests in your final production environment before burning your CD-ROM

  • Be confused with the absolute/relative links

    I have a simple site and use PHP includes.

    I use paths that have the... / in front of them so that they are related.  I understand that I may use a path with just the bar oblique fwd and not two periods at the front, but I don't know why.

    My site works ok direct, but not when I use localhost to preview in the browser.

    What I'm doing wrong or not seeing?

    You are also confused about the difference between absolute and relative links. An absolute link is a complete link - it contains the full path. Links that start by... / and / are both relative links. The first style is compared to the document. The second is relative to the root of the site.

    When you use PHP includes, the path to the include file must be compared to the document or the file must be in the PHP include_path.

    When you use links inside of an include file, they should normally be from the root of the site.

    Your links do not work locally because the root of the site is localhost. Probably, you develop your site in a subfolder of localhost. Therefore, the links point to a folder above what you want.

    The solution is to create a virtual host. Details on the configuration of the virtual hosts in Windows can be found in this tutorial on my website: http://foundationphp.com/tutorials/apache22_vhosts.php.

  • RMAN stuck on wait event "CPI RDBMS response."

    Below is a summary of the issue I faced, followed by details.

    Summary:

    I'm doing a "Save as copy" operation to RMAN, but it is retained by the db writer process. The event of waiting for writer rman process and db is "RDBMS ipc reply. The db writer process is in turn blocked by the process of "RBAL. The RBAL process seems to be waiting on the same process of writer db with wait events ' enq: FP - global fob contention "." Any ideas what could be causing this and what can I do to solve this problem?

    Details:

    I run the following operation in RMAN:
    RMAN> backup as copy database format '+DEV1';
    However, the process is stuck on the event of waiting "RDBMS ipc reply.

    All the locks of CBC point to the APPUSER_LOG and USER_DELIVERY_LOG tables.
    Could someone help me please in the setting of this query, I need to avoid latch and scattered read... .as application knows huge slow...

    Even if you run based on rules in general, this query will run based on costs due to the indicator.

    This is typical of an unnested "IN" subquery - it looks like the optimiser has unnested your double-level IN subquery finding the maximum action date for a user who has done something in the last minute into a massive group and aggregate (so we've got unnesting and complex view merging all in one - I don't think I've seen that in 8i before).

    Your db file scattered reads are probably extreme because (a) the USER_DELIxxxx table is big, and (b) the number of rows you are getting from the APPUSER_Lxxx table is more than the one that Oracle expects. You may find that collecting stats on APPUSER_Lxxx addresses this issue

    I can't see any reason why the appuser_log table should be subject to cache buffers chains latch problems - if the plan is true than the only thing it suffers is one full scan. However, given the "one row" estimate that comes out of the VW_NOS_1 line, the optimizer is free to do all sorts of silly things as it works through the chain of nested loops, and if the number of rows from the driver is much more than one then the indexed activity against USER_DELIxxx could be huge.

    For example:

    Is the next step in this nested loop (and similar things happen more down and in the previous sections of the plan) suggesting that a systematic index scan rnage will pick up thousands of lines - which, even if only about right, could mean a huge number of buffer visits to the table. ... the numbers don't make real sense, either by the way, but once again, it is probably due to the lack of appropriate statistics.
