You cannot extend a partition back by using disk management.
There are two ways to do this:
First of all, you could download ind run a third party partition manager - the one I use is GParted. It is booted from the CD and will do exactly what you want without deleting all data.
You can get it here: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/
The other method is to backup your data, delete the partition, it is on and then create a new partition of the total free space. If you find my answer helpful, please click the button "Vote as helpful"! Thank you! My Blog

Windows 7 disk management utility does not allow the creation of simple volume:
Hello
I used the Windows 7 disk management utility to reduce my about 450 GB C drive at about 210 GB. While I try to convert the volume unallocated resulting in a new simple volume, it fails with an error message indicating the space is insufficient on the disk (s) to complete the operation. The original disc was almost empty, while I performed the shrink operation. What is the problem here?Try one of the two utilities listed below. I think you will find they work better.

Does anyone have a solution to our problem?
USB-6251 is not recognized (detected) in MAX but is detected by the Windows 7 Device Manager.
Is our configuration: Windows 7 (64-BIT), DAXmx 9.3.0f2, MAX 4,8 and USB-6251 (S/N 12B647A. P/N 194929 D - 04 L)
We had a 'ready' indication/led the 6251.
We tried several things... (all do not work)
1. we have installed DAQmx 9.3 (for Windows 7)
2. clean MAX Database by the following
http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/WebSearch/86256F0E001DA9FF86256FFD005B827C?OpenDocument
Michael B.
Yes the 6251 appears as a DAQ hardware. Device charger OR placed in the auto-start services window. We have refreshed MAX.
Success! I had to manually start the device loader. Even if the service has been set to autostart, it did not work. Right-click on the service shows that the beginning was selectable. Click Start and the service began. Start to MAX and can now see the device. Open the front panel.
How does the monitor devices OR running in the interface of the status bar to the device loader service?
I don't understand why the service was not working. Is it a security issue? I am logged in as administrator. I'll try once again as a normal user.

lost user account after using the windows recovery disk.
Help, please. I turned on my computer and found that windows vista could not start due to a currupt file.
I have tried rebooting several times without success and ended by using the samsung recovery disc to get windows vista to work.
I had to create a new user account and have been able to find my original account on the C drive but don't know how to restore it so I don't have start with a new account from scratch.
Any help is appreciated.
Information, the original version of windows is now called windows.old and it is here that I want to use the user account.
Hi Geek teenager,
Surly there is a way to restore the user account that is sitting in windows.old on the C: drive, instead of having to reinstall all the programs that I never downloaded?
Programs need to be reinstalled from the original media: CD, DVD, download, etc.
You can recover data from the windows.old folder, but not programs.
Set up a new account.

Repair of bootcamp after having extended the Windows partition
Hallo
I have a Mac with windows on it.
I expand the partition for windows, first by spreading 10 GB of mac, I don't then open windows and look for the 10 GB he wanted, but could not open windows, the error occurring has been 'missing in operation.
When I use the following solution:
sudo fdisk e/dev/disk0s4
p
setpid 4
07
Pavilion 4
p
To write
There
After "sudo fdisk e/dev/disk0s4" it says "resource busy".
When I try to active the disk and partition in the windows repair utility, its says 'ACTIVE kan only be used on disk MBR.
Sorry for my bad English, I really hope that someone can help you.
What you are attempting is not supported by Apple - Boot Camp: resize the Windows partition .
Can you post the output of the following Terminal commands?
diskutil list
Cs diskutil list
sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0
sudo fdisk/dev/disk0
The "sudo" commands will prompt to enter your password, and there do not appear to come back. You can also see caution against improper use 'sudo' and the potential loss of data due to an "abuse" of the order.

Manager Windows 8.1 and the HP recovery disk manager cannot remove the recovery partition
I have the following computer: HP ENVY h8 desktop PC - 1437c. I used the HP Recovery application to do a recovery on a flash drive disk. When you have finished this operation it was not an option to remove the recovery partition (drive D on my computer. I tried to reopen the HP Recovery Manager and try to remove it like that, but to remove it is greyed out. I also tried to delete it using the 8.1 windows Disk Manager, but there is no way to do there either. If I right click on the recovery Partition, I get only an option 'help '. How can I get rid of this partition and recover lost space using it now on my hard drive. Windows and HP did not want to provide more records with their computers, but they do not have a problem of screwing of MY hard drive that I bought and paid for. I should start to charge rent for the space.
I just used the software and created another partition as drive D using all unallocated space. I can delete probably once again, or maybe I'll just use it as a storage device for my files instead of recovering files sofetware... Thanks for the help

Ran the now computer disk management statement of bad size of HD
I was going to create a partition on my computer with disk management. I have Windows Vista Home Premium with a 500 GB HD. I went to disk management, made the shrink option with the settings by default, and then it was 'shrinking' volume, my computer restarted itself. When the computer started back, he brings now my HD is 340 gb, before it was a 455 GB report, which I know is normal for a 500 GB HD, someone knows why this is?

I am trying to create a new partition in Win7 using the disk management utility. Shrank lecteurC existing to create unallocated space. Am not able to create a simple volume with this space unallocated due to the following error message.
"You cannot create a new volume in this unallocated space because the disk already contains the maximum number of partitions".
How to fix this or go around with another method to create partitions?
Hello
You will need to convert the dynamic disk before creating the extra partition. To do this in disk management:
-Right-click the disk 0 (gray area) which indicates the total size of your hard drive
-Select 'convert to dynamic disk.
Once you have converted to dynamic disk, you will be able to go and create the new simple partition.
I hope this helps.
Best regards, Damian

I have an old computer with installed Microsoft Windows XP SP2 and 3. I bought a new hard drive and also a new external hard drive for her case. I have correctly installed the hard drive inside the enclosure, and I think that I have installed correctly (in the motherboard SATA port) eSATA port, according to the manufacturer's instructions. I plugged everything... first eSATA, then power and power switch. I restarted the computer, and I chose to analyze disks in disk management. However, the new drive is not recognized. The SATA port on the motherboard could not work or did I buy the bad, perhaps, hard drive enclosure for my system? Or something related to the software? Thank you.
Hi Donnadream,
Connect the hard drive to another port and check if that makes a difference
Step 1: You can follow the steps mentioned in the article below, which deals with a similar question

I used to be able to watch VIDEO (including the .avi) files in the preview pane in windows Explorer, but it has since stopped working. This change took place after the update to the latest version on windows media player. (version 12.0.7601.18150)
attempted fixes:
1. in options from files of the variations of tab - all reviews of checking / unchecking "always show icons, never thumbnails" and "show previewhandlers in the preview pane. the first has nothing to do with this problem. However, the 'show previewhandlers... '. "when checked this error message is displayed in the preview pane" "this file cannot be previewed because of an error in the windows media player rich preview Manager." When unchecked the poster preview pane a thumbnail with the icon of the program it is supposed to open, in the present case, WMP, this correction allows the preview of the PHOTO but NOT of VIDEO. " also I reset by default, of course.
2. they also examined the options under system settings panel-advanced control and troubleshooting without success.all the less someone ' one can confirm that there is a problem with windows media player? or it comes from windows Explorer?
UPDATE:
https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=xBgrJ3XO-Z8This shows that the problem is with WMPRPH.exe (Windows Media Player Rich Preview Handler) it happens when wmprph farm, now if someone knows how to impose this program to continue to work as it should which would solve my problem.
