DBID in the backup files

Hello

on 11.2.0.3 on Win 2008

no way of knowing the DBID of the backup files that I want to retrieve a new database?

I am in this case:

Duplicate backup target connectionless-oriented

And in the documentation, I found this example:

DUPLICATE a DATABASE to dupdb DBID 8675309 prod

UNTIL TIME ' TO_DATE (NOVEMBER 1, 2007 ',' DD/MM/YYYY "").

SPFILE

NOFILENAMECHECK;

So I need have a dbid.

Thank you.

1-check the backup log file.

2 - If you use a recovery catalog, check the table: RC_DATABASE

3 - If you have backup of the data file, follow these steps:

channels | grep MAXVALUE

will display something like this;

strings dbfile_data_D-UPKDEV_I-430114139_TS-SYSAUX_FNO-2_9ip3v1id%_843023949 |grep MAXVALUE
430114139, MAXVALUE
O430114139, MAXVALUE
430114139, MAXVALUE
430114139, MAXVALUE
430114139, MAXVALUE
430114139, MAXVALUE
MAXVALUE
430114139, MAXVALUE
430114139, MAXVALUE
@430114139, MAXVALUE

the DBID is 430114139

    • < number > _ < hash > .json bookmark-YYYY-MM-JJ_

The files in the bookmarkbackups folder are currently in compressed format .jsonlz4 (i.e., they show data binary like a ZIP compressed archive) and cannot be easily unzipped for access the JSON text format.
The files are compressed means that a single error in the file will make it impossible to unpack the file.

Have you checked all the available JSON backup to see if everything works?

A backup created manually JSON is always not compressed, so can be easily inspected or opened in a text editor (Notepad > "Pretty Print"), but with a compressed file, it is much more difficult.

Recovery of a file via an undelete utility is no guarantee that the space occupied by the file has not been used by another file, and so is corrupt.

    Hi guys,.
I also experienced this problem and based on the previous explanation in one of the threads here I got the following article - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_process_the_backup_file_-_Firefox

I myself have deleted only the file places.sqlite and places.sqlite.corrupt from the profile directory and was able to import my favorites since the backup file successfully.

  • Lost bookmarks do not recover, system shows "failed to process the backup file ' how to solve?

The ability to access saved previuosly bookmarks disappeared recently. I work in the system to get a restore from an earlier date (10 files appear), but to all the world I get the message - Impossible to treat the backup file - I think that this has coincided with a recent update. Are you able to help?

One possible cause is a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

  • "The backup file contains unrecognized data and cannot be used.

Original title: - what are MS provides a BKF recovery tool? "The backup file contains unrecognized data and cannot be used.

I'm trying to restore BKF files created by NTBackup.exe after the crash of a hard drive running XP Pro. The new hard drive is the same brand (WD) goes into the same computer Dell Inspiron and the same OS. No catalog file is available and trying to recreate the NTBackup recovery gives an error message.  No catalog cannot be created for many, but not all of my backup BKF files.

I do not consider the solution of SysTools $89 for a large part of the answer. This problem is not uncommon and I hope MS has or can tell me a free tool to allow me to restore from any of my BKF.

    Thank you.

  • Could not open the backup files on a USB key

I supported some (bkf) files on a USB key with XP. I transferred these files on another computer with XP. I can not open them on the other computer with XP and I can open them on the USB key.

    Hello sherbrookeqc,

Before giving up on the .bkf files, look on the internet for the 3rd party software backup that restores the backup files in Windows XP. It could be your .bkf files are corrupted, but they may be recoverable using other sources.

However, if the files are empty they may not be not recoverable.

    Good luck.

  • Restore the backup files. Windows Vista Expert needed!

Help!  Recently, a virus wiped out my operating system (Windows Vista).  C drive my PC had literally nothing about it.  Then I got a new VISTA OS installed by a repair shop.  I tried to restore my previous configuration from the backup I had on an external drive, using the Vista Backup & Restore utility.  This "worked" except that he restored the backup files in a separate location on the C drive.  Using the windows Explorer I see all those files that have been restored in a folder named "Thom".

However the new Vista installation has the user name "Thomas" where a configuration complete, (Documents, Favorites, desktop, etc.), was created.  When I connect, it's the config I see (new office, new files and folders for this new user, 'Thomas'.  I want to use the configuration, (files, folders, office computer), under the former name "Thom", not this new one, "Thomas."

I'm afraid to just delete the files under Thomas I'm afraid I'm going to destroy my access to Windows in general.  Currently, I show only a user account in the control panel.  I don't have the 'Thom' user in the folder of the user within the new configuration.  How to delete files and folders under Thomas and use files and folders in the folder named Thom that is located on drive C?

All restoring the backup files are there, they show just a folder on drive C, titled "Thom".  When I connect to my pc it takes me to your desktop created by the new facility.  I need ALL the files in the backup (office, e-mail, files & folders), not the Setup program created by the installation of the new Vista.  I want to be able to connect to windows and have it use the backup files, which are located in this folder named "Thom" which show on the C drive.

Can I simply combine or merge or copy the files in the folder 'Thom', I want to use in the files of the same name, (contacts, documents, Favorites, desktop), which are under the name of "Thomas"?  Can I remove folders under the user 'Thomas' and all it's files and records and hope that windows then takes me in the files that I want to use?

I use my laptop, (HP Pavilion, 64-bit), for business and I'm dead in the water until I can access my old configuration.  I am on day 5 of this disaster and I am desperate, please help!

    Hello Reggie999,

Thanks for the return of the response.  You can move the files/folders in the 'Thom' folder in your new user account 'Thomas '.   Or another option would be to create a new user account and call it what you want, then move the folder in this user account.

If you create a new user account and move your files/folders to this account, it would be nice to delete the user account 'Thomas '.  Just make sure that you have all of the files in the profile that you have recently created/added.

  • Restoration of the backup files is not HD

Microsoft window came up with message that my HD was 'BAD', and I have to back up the files and replace HD.  I chose the option to back up all the files on a flash drive.

I have now replaced the HD and run the recovery discs.

When I insert the flash drive it contains a file 'OWNER-PC.'

Open this file, there is another file: "Backup Set 2010-11-01..."

Open this file, I find: "backup files 2010-11-0.

This file contains 19 files: "Save files 1" by "backup Files19".

Each of these files contain files and each of them contain files.

What is the best way to restore my files of the tree of which I guess are compressed files.

    Hello

    ·         How you back up files?

    ·         You use the backup program in Windows?

If Yes, then you must restore the backup files to view.

Here's how you can restore backup files: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Restore-files-from-a-backup

If you did the backup windows of the computer, and then follow the steps of: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Restore-your-computer-from-a-system-image-backup

  • How to decrypt the backup file

    Hi all

I need to know how to decipher the backup file (ACS 5.3) on the desktop. Below is relevant for once you import the file to restore. However, my problem is to extract the file to your desktop

    ============================================================

    GBA backup encryption

Backup of the ACS is now encrypted using a password of dynamic encryption. The user is prompted for an encryption password when executing a backup operation. ACS encrypts only the ACS data by using a dynamic encryption key. CARS and the ACS view data is encrypted using a static key. That is why ACS invites to enter a password for encryption when you perform a backup that contains the data of the ACS. The user is prompted for a password for decryption while restoring a backup that contains the data of the ACS.

When you run a backup in ACS, ACS uses the static to encrypt key the CARS and the ACS data and actually a file of .gpg while GBA backup data is saved inside this file as file separate .gpg .gpg using the dynamic encryption password. When you restore the full backup, ACS invites for the decryption password decrypt the backup ACS data. ACS decrypts the data from CARS and display ACS data using the static key.

    The encryption password must have:

    • a minimum of 8 characters
    • no more than 32 characters
    • letter at least one capital letter.
    • at least a tiny.

«Special characters are allowed except "'", "$", "(" et "") "» ACS displays the password strategy if the entered password does not meet password requirements.

    Hello

I can't think about a way to recover your files, it's to restore the file to a temp ACS server can generate a backup that is not encrypted.

I would say we can decrypt the file on your desktop if we know the method that was used to encrypt it. I think that this information is not provided anywhere in the doc of cisco.

    Kind regards

  • The backup files are smaller in size after ACS ACS 5.2 to 5.3

After ACS upgrade from 5.2 to 5.3 we have noticed that the backup files are significantly smaller in size. They were for example before the upgrade:

    285633099 2011-10-23 22:01 Meduza-ACS-111023 - 2200.tar.gpg

    285809254 2011-10-24 22:01 Meduza-ACS-111024 - 2200.tar.gpg

    And after the upgrade:

    124234429 2011-10-25 22:00 Meduza-ACS-111025 - 2200.tar.gpg

    124234425 2011-10-26 22:00 Meduza-ACS-111026 - 2200.tar.gpg

    What could cause this behavior?

How can we be sure if the backup files have been regular after the upgrade?

So what I wrote is true, but does not apply in your case

I think that there are also a few corrections that reduce the size of the transactions table. GST files relate to records associated with configuration changes and manage notification of these secondary changes, and run-time components. Transactions are stored in the configuration database, but contain no configuration data.

5.2 what they have not well cleaned and it has improved to the point 5.3.

    Impossible to find all the CDETS at the moment, but here's an example;

CSCth78269 Table ACSTRANSACTIONS is not properly cleaned during bulk operations

As you can see it before the upgrade that the size of your backup file has been more and once the size of constant upgrade

I think you should be good. Only way to confirm 100% is to restore data

  • Could not open the backup file Money99 after reinstalling Windows 8

My Sony VAIO came with Windows 8, and I used Money99 on it without problem.  When I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and later Windows 10, I was able to restore the backup file I had saved on a USB key, and I continued using the program.  Today, I re-set my VAIO to factory settings because after 6 months with 10 Windows, I couldn't tolerate frequent them freezes and purple/blue screens of death.  I have re-installed Money99 through CD and it seems to work fine.  However, whenever I try to restore my backup file, it tells me it either cannot find the file or it is a read-only file.  I confirmed the file is located on the USB and it has not defined on read-only, hidden or archive.  He said: I have, the system and the administrator can all open it.  When I did a search on this subject, I couldn't find answers especially to Money99.  Others had the same problem with the more recent of the money, and some versions proposed to copy the backup file to the hard drive before you restore it.  I tried, but I get the same message.  I don't think that the USB is corrupted or damaged, especially after reading that others have had this same problem.  Does anyone have the solution? It would be much appreciated!
