DBLINK 11g to 8i
Hi allI can create dblink 11g to 8i?
I want to copy data from 8i to 11 g.
Thank you
Yes, but we do not want to use exp/IMP.
Why?
If you have 9.2.0.8 or 10 gr 2 database, you ETG via 9iR2 or 10 gr 2 DB.
E.g. On 10 gr 2 DB,
SQL> create table tableA@11g as select * from tableA@8i;
Kind regards

Problems connecting to the database msaccess 32 bit on 64 bit 11G
Here's the question:
I have a database to 9i (32-bit windows) with a connection hsodbc to an old one to an Access database so once the schema can see and copy data from an access database has said, everything works fine.
I'm about to move the 64 bit 11.2.0.3 on windows 2008 server 64-bit database, database is migrated and tested ok.
The problem comes from the connection dg4odbc, I created the AS400 database connections and they are ok, but I set up an ODBC for the access database, using the 32-bit ODBC interface as MS recommends, but I always get this error message:
ERROR on line 1:
ORA-28500: connection between ORACLE and a non-Oracle system has sent this message:
[Microsoft] [ODBC driver manager] The specified DSN contains an architecture
incompatibility between the driver and the Application {IM014}
ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines of RADERDB
According to MS technet, it is do not use the c:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe to set up the ODBC connection, but I used only executable, when I use the ordinary 64-bit ODBC admin I can't even see msaccess drivers first.
The funny thing is, when I point the tnsnames.ora on the old server 9i entry, it uses the ODBC connection and then the dblink 11G and then works fine. However, it is a band-aid solution and I want to get everything works from the new production database server.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance...
The message means you are using a 32-bit with a 64-bit program ODBC driver. It does not work. If you want to connect with the 64-bit DG4ODBC, you must use a 64-bit ODBC driver. A package is available on the Microsoft Technet site (AccessDatabaseEngine_x64 - http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=13255 ) that ships the drivers ODBC 64-bit for their Excel/Access programs.
Please note that product installation gateway 32-bit on Windows 64-bit is NOT supported.

Dblink Oracle to sql server, multiple database on the same server sql under a dblink
Hi, we managed to set up an Oracle dblink to sql server and retrieve data.
The user of sql server have been using via dblink has access to multiple databases on the same sql server
But the question is how in oracle (if possible) prepend you the SQL access to this?
For example:
Sqlserver_prod has the user sqlserver_user which seems to be set up as default database sqlserver_db1
But we have select access to sqlserver_db2
all work well as sqlserver_user
Select * from table_fromdb1
Select * from dbo.table_fromdb1
Select * from sqlserver_db1.dbo.table_fromdb1
as does
Select * from sqlserver_db2.dbo.table_fromdb2
more in Oracle
Oracle_db a dblink sqlserver_prod. World connection sqlserver_user
everything works fine
Select * from 'table_fromdb1"@sqlserver_prod '.
Select * from 'dbo '. "table_fromdb1"@sqlserver_prod
But how to (if possible) access from oracle
sqlserver_db2.dbo.table_fromdb2
without having to create a new sqlserver_db2_user referenced in a new dblink
If oracle for oracle would be
Select * from remote_oracle_schema.table@remote_oracle_db
Hello
You cannot select a table in a different SQL * database server from that to which the gateway instance connects.
As stated in the documentation-Oracle® database gateway
Installation and Configuration Guide
11g Release 2 (11.2) for AIX 5 L Based Systems (64-bit), HP - UX
Itanium, Solaris (SPARC 64-Bit), Linux x 86 operating system,
and Linux x 86-64
In the section.
The example SQL Server multiple databases: Configuration of the modem router
A separate instance of the gateway that is required for each SQL Server database. Each
instance needs its own Gateway system ID (SID).
==========
You will need to create a new instance of the gateway for the SQL * Server DB2 as well as a link separate db.

Hi all
My version of DB: 11g R1
Why the dblink is not created using the command below
SQL > create database public link testdb.xyz.local using 'TEST '.
ERROR on line 1:
ORA-00933: SQL not correctly completed command.
She was successful, if I jump the domain name in the command,
Example: create the database public link test_db using 'TEST'
What is the difference? Why the dblink is not created when using the domain name.
Kindly help.
Kind regards
Krish.
A period is a special character in an identifier as an all lowercase letters of the space.
You must put the name of the link between double quotes.

Link between Oracle database 10g and Oracle database 11g database
We have a database from Oracle 10 g to which connect us with SID = mod
The TNS names file is present in the directory Oracle NETWORK\ADMIN on the development computer contains the following two entries among others
MOD =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 10.70.10.23)(PORT = 1521))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 10.70.10.21)(PORT = 1521))
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = mod)
)
)
NEWMOD =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 10.70.10.7)(PORT = 1521))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 10.70.10.9)(PORT = 1521))
(LOAD_BALANCE = yes)
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = MOD)
)
)
In the SQL client we can log on to the mod and newmod each with its own username and password.
To create a link of database as follows
CREATE newmod CONNECT TO DATABASE LINK Public user1 IDENTIFIED BY password1 USING 'newmod ';
the database link is created without problems.
However, in trying to retrieve data from tables in the database that uses 10.70.10.7 and 10.70.10.9 using a command like
Select Column1 table1@newmod;
We get the following error:
ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified
How can access us the tables at the entrance to tns newmod because it resides on a server 11g, while tns mod entry is on a 10g Server? (both use the same service name, but are located on different ip addresses)
Your help is very appreciated.
Have you set TNS_ADMIN variable? Check if you have any additional TNSNAMES file. ORA in your ORACLE_HOME files.
Point A of TN-entry NEWMOD to a host. Load Balancing is not needed.
Try to create the dblink with the connect descriptor.
create database DB_TEST link to connect to SCOTT
identified by "password" ' (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 10.70.10.9)(PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVER = DEDICATED) (SERVICE_NAME = MOD)))';

Import of data from 11g to 10g pump
I have 2 database: first is 11.2.0.2.0 and second 10.2.0.1.0
In 10g I created the link of database 11g
CREATE THE DATABASE LINK "TEST. LINK ".
CONNECT to 'monservice' IDENTIFIED BY 'monservice '.
Using "(DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = host) (PORT = port))) (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = sid)))';"
And run this query to dbLink test that work well:
Select * from [email protected];
After him, I try to call the open function:
declare
number h;
Start
h: = dbms_datapump.open ('IMPORT', 'TABLE', ' TEST.) LINK', null, ' 10.2 ");
end;
and get exception: 39001. 00000 - "invalid argument value.
If I remove ' TEST. LINK "argument, it works fine

Think maybe it's a bug - there are a number of issues related to this kind of thing and I think you should be on 10.2.0.3 at least to do this.Sorry - iniitially I thought that you were shooting 10 g (and not the reverse).

Extraction of data through an existing dblink
Hello
I am trying to find a way to recover data using a dblink with ODI 11.1.1.5.
I found this article, but I think it's a little dirty: http://www.business-intelligence-quotient.com/?p=1187. In addition, in the version 11g, the name of the table is enclosed in double quotes and I can't seem to get rid of them. (If you know how it, it would be useful... ;).)
I think I should write a LKM that creates a view of the staging. To use it, I should have a way to set the name of DBlink whenever it is used in an interface. How do I set? A variable? And how to access with something like this:
Create the view... ( .... )
as some... from < % = odiRef.getSrcTablesList ("", "[SCHEMA].) [RES_NAME] (",","" ") % > @DBLINK_NAME < % = odiRef.getSrcTablesList (" ","[POP_TAB_ALIAS]",","," ") % >
Thanks in advance for you help.
ConcerningHello
I used very effectively LKM Oracle of Uli to Oracle DBLInk with the view of the target. Chances are, you will have more joy with the creation of objects in your target (DWH) as the source system.
Take a look at the following:http://www.business-intelligence-quotient.com/?tag=LKM
I did create an option in the LKM to pass the name of DBlink and make reference to the value of the option in the LKM.
I don't see the problem with the creation of the view on the target, more so we couldn't go create views the source in my case so this suited us perfectly.
You need become friendly with your DBA, most of them listening - you have a valid reason to edit the tnsnames.ora so suggest you get that done - your not go anywhere with DBLINKS without some changes.
Hope this helps,

What can I do?
Thank you!Hello
Oracle 9i supports all Format of Date masks supported a 10g database. If you use a database connection, the database tries to set the same NLS settings on the remote database as defined in the current database session.
When you get the error? Do you get in report designer or in your own application? If it's in your own application, check the masks of date format of "globalization application-level attributes."
You must also ensure you actually close the database link in the ' Code from PL/SQL to cleaning "security-Session of database to avoid problems of links of open database in your database session pool. Because otherwise, database sessions that do not need the link database are also affected by this problem, as the generator,...

NB100 - 11G - HARD drive not detected during installation of Windows XP
I have a Toshiba NB100 - 11G with Win XP Home and a 160 GB HD RAM upgraded 1 024 to 2 GB. Recently, I tried to install Win Pro SP3. However, it did not work and the message was that the hard drive was not recognized. I have no problem restoring with the provided Toshiba Recovery CD (which has Win XP Home).
Does anyone have an idea why I couldn't install Win XP Pro? Could it be related to my RAM upgrade? (The only thing I changed.)
Thanks for a response. Sincerely, Allan.
Hello
The problem is that you integrate the driver SATA Windows XP can detect the internal HARD drive. Otherwise, you get a blue screen or the HARD drive is not detected.
With the help of nLite (freeware tool), you can create a new drive to install XP with SATA driver package. This is described here:

Satellie Pro L830 - 11G - access to the recovery partition
Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellie Pro L830 - 11G, running Windows 7I would like to restore it to the original settings.
I tried various things, but so far no luck.When I look into the system, I see that the system recovery disk is always classified as "Healthy (active recovery partition)", but there ' hatching / diagonal lines "current running through it (if necessary) - when I right click on this drive, it offers me only the opton of"aid ". It gives so many 1.46 GB AND free space as 1.46 GB
So, I don't know if that means he's here and I can access it somehow, or if it is just an empty disk but with no real possibility to recover original parameters.
Hello
This 1, 4 GB partition is created by Windows and has nothing to do with the created by Toshiba recovery partition where is backup recovery image. Toshiba recovery image has certainly more than 6 GB I think.
On Win7 machines you can start the image recovery installation using F8 at startup. When you do this, you will have the menu boot advanced options and select the option to fix my computer. Detailed information on the recovery image installation you will find in the user manuals document s or on follow Toshiba document - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm
Please note: disk image installation HARD recovery works if your phone has only factory.
If you have changed something that he probably does not work. Under change something, I mean own installation operating system or changes in structure of HARD disk partitions. -
