Satellite Pro S300 - 11G: headphones Pluging will not completely cutting speakers

With high volume settings and with the headphones plugged-in, a very distorted sound leaking through the speakers.
Have tried using several different headphones.

The machine is that the satellite Pro S300 - 11G retrograde to XP and less than a month.
Toshiba service are threatening to charge if the problem turns out to be the software, not hardware. (even if they provided the software!).

You have the volume of the Microphone high value?

Maybe he just returned from Mic. Try to cut the Microphone, or turn down the volume to about 10%.

I tried to change settings in the BIOS (according to Toshiba utility the latest version), but even in the Bios is no information about this SSD or HARD drive installed. (or the CD player when I re - install this drive again)

To my knowledge, not all laptops support a 2nd HDD rather than the ODD (optical disc)

Also, not all CD/DVD drives are compatible and could be used for all laptops.

So agree with the user above and I think it's the problem of compatibility also.

    People,
    I have a Satellite Pro A100, with a RUG * a DVD-RAM UJ - 841 S Drive.
It will read fine data disks, but refuses to play with the audio CD or video DVD.

    I tried to uninstall & Re-Installing DVD - RAM Driver;
That got rid of the "IO error" that I received, unfortunately I don't notice the full error: S.

Sometimes this error is displayed because the player does not support the environment.
Always it is every way is supported by readers and I think that in the user manual, you will find an index CDs or DVDs compatible

Maybe the drive is defective and can not calibrate lens in the right position.
But this laptop is not very old, and I can't imagine that the drive is defective
    However, nothing is impossible.

What you can do is to carefully clean the lens and see that it will help.

  • Satellite Pro 2410 - Wireless card (Belkin) will not allow

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro. I think it's a 2410, the model is PS241E-5G7U9-EN. I also have a Belkin Wireless PSMCIA card, model No. FSd7010. For a long time * these worked perfectly.* the computer serves pretty well, and I received it as a gift.

About 7-8 months, I had a catastrophic failure. I do not have the restore disc, so I had to do a format and a new install of XP Pro, and then I added drivers Toshiba etc. supplied with the PC, as I had this drive. I updated Windows SP3. The Belkin card took the latest downloaded drivers.

First of all, I had huge problems to make the card work, due to all kinds of conflicts and other issues. Now, the card will work, BUT only when the machine has 100% power. As soon as this fall, or if the machine is cut off in any other way that a stop (Hibernate, or lid closed), the card Belkin turns off and will not allow all. It allows for a second, detects the networks, then turns off.

Normally, I have to wait to be able to reach 100%, uninstall and reinstall. It is massively frustrating. I know that the PC is quite old, but it is a useful tool to the top and its primary function is Wi - Fi browsing. Anyone know how I can fix this problem? He worked before so it should again.

    Hello!

You have installed the laptop with the Toshiba Recovery disk?
You have the same problem with SP2?

Try to test the PCMCIA card in a different cell. Maybe it's a problem of the PCMCIA card.

  • Satellite Pro L450D black screen and will not respond to any keys

    Hello

My niece has used his Toshiba L450D for almost a year now and he really liked it, who was until last month. She turned on her laptop and when she presses the button of the mouse, the button cracked and he fell into the laptop.

Now my brother contacted Toshiba and I was told because it is under warranty it might return for repair because it was a common fault. Then he he packed in loads of air bubbles and a box to make sure it was safe.

A few weeks later he came back repaired but we were all shocked that the laptop was put in a very loose box and you could hear this rattling noise. When we turned on the battery was flat and we had a new boot menu.

As she installed it Windows 7 laptop would boot directly into Windows 7, but now after the repair of the laptop shows a menu black screen with as follows:

    + Windows 7 +.
+ Recover Windows to Factory Settings [active EMS] +.

So we started in Windows and everything went well, but now after 5 or 10 or even 20 minutes, laptop displays a black screen and will not respond to keys or mouse movement. There is nothing on the screen its just black.

I started in SafeMode (which was more difficult with the new menu) and it does the same thing. I even managed to do a virus scan quick who took 3-4 minutes and was clean.

I would like some advice on what my niece is very angry, and it's difficult to explain what is happening to a child in the primary school.

    Any help would be grateful.

    Hello

Have you tried the option of HARD drive recovery?

If this is not the case, try to set the notebook back to factory settings using HARD drive recovery.
Turn on the device, press F12, choose repair my computer, then select Toshiba HDD recovery.

    I hope it will work!

I have just updated the firmware from R1D06 and shortly after the startet LED to change.
Now when I turn on the 3G card, the blue light flashes once every two secconds and it also runs on the Wifi light, even thoug Wifi is disabled.

The light does not change when it is connected, always the same Flash.
And the Wireless Manager seems to lose its connection to the card and says it is not connected, even thoug it's on and internet works. Sometimes there is no blue led, and saw that it works correctly once, this is not always the same behavior.

Connection is good, thoug disconnection a lot and sometimes windows uninstalls the material.

I would like to try downgrading the firmware again but can't find it on the on the net anywhwere, but do not know if my card is defective or not.
Toshiba europe has a support email?

    Can't find that either.

    Hello

Unfortunately I can't help you with this issue, but on the Toshiba download pages when a new update is available the old one disappears from the list and just one is available.
It is the same with the BIOS updates.

If you need advice or assistance may contact nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer.
They have access to the database of Toshiba and they can get for you older version of the firmware.
Talk with them. I don't know that they can help you with this.

    Hello

You suggested that this light doesn t work since the replacement of the motherboard.
Am I wrong? In my opinion this is something mechanically. Can not solve yourself.
In this case I recommend to contact the ASP again and explain the situation. Generally, the warranty should cover the repair procedure.

But suddenly sound only coming sound speaker that is built into the computer.
I tried to reinstall the audio drivers but no success

It seems that he doesn t know I have something out of the phone or microphone. And I even tried to upgrade the Bios.
It may have something to do with the upgrade of the Microsoft Vista?

    Hello

Have you tried plugging a headset to the headset jack to see if it would work?

This external sound card is not only known to me and I ve no experience with this device, but using the helmet you could check if this problem is related to the headphone jack or another part.

On the other hand if you use Win XP then you can check the settings in device-> Realtek HD audio Manager manager.
There is a tab called Audio i/o.

Plug in headphones and see if they would be activated it.

  • Satellite Pro S300 - 11 H: charging not not after re-installation of software

My laptop has been "reset" by a Virus called AdwCleaner last week removal tool (CAUTION - do NOT run it on your laptop - if could ruin your life!)  :(

In any case, the result of it was that I had to take it to a repair shop where they were unable to restore Windows XP I had used since I got the machine, and so they have had to re - install the original Windows Vista which was the OS when I bought it. (I bought a "downgrade" to XP disc with the laptop)

Until that happened, the charging of the battery and everything worked well, but since I'll be back my laptop from the store, battery does not charge.

When I hover over the right low battery icon, it says "3% available, battery not charging".
The battery is OK, because if I unplug the power cable, the laptop stays on.

Is there some setting somewhere that is revealing the machine do not recharge the battery?
How can I get it back to normal?

    See you soon,.
    Select this option.

    Guess what?
I m wondering if the guy installed all the drivers of Toshiba Vista that are released on the Toshiba UE driver page.
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?

I m thinking in particular software and tools such as value added package

I also recommend you to check the Device Manager.
In Device Manager, expand battery area.
Here, you must first uninstall the
-Battery method to check compatible ACPI Microsoft
    -Microsoft AC adapter
    -Battery composite Microsoft

    Reboot the laptop.
Check how to work the battery charging process
In the case where they would find the new hardware (these would be three uninstalled devices from Device Manager) wait until the system has installed the driver, reboot once again and check the load

  • Satellite Pro S300 - screen is blank and can not restart

A week ago, I left my Satellite Pro S300-EZ2502 at night (as usual). It was fine tonight.

The next day, I got a black screen and a flashing light orange on the left side. I tried to turn it off, don't restart, no dice. I tried removing the battery and restart under just current alternative, nothing, I tried the opposite. Nothing. I tried to let the battery and then recharge. No help. Very rarely when I plug it in again, I will get the green light for a few seconds, but then again the yellow flashing light. Nothing EVER on the screen.

I've only had this laptop since MAY! What's wrong!!

Have you installed extra RAM in the system?

Try to remove one of the Modules or swap them around.

Otherwise, it may be a motherboard problem. An FSL can repair it for you - free if its under warranty.

  • Satellite Pro S300 EZ1514 - could not initialize Solid State Drive (SSD)

    I have a Satellite Pro S300 EZ1514.

Recently I bought a SATA II 64 GB SSD to replace hard drive current cavalry. I first tried to install XP with SATA drivers rationalized in.
The installation process recognized the SSD and has the original file copied to it, but when it restarted to continue the installation process the system wouldn't boot from the drive.

Then I tried to install Vista Business 64 from the recovery disk came with the laptop.
After launching the recovery disc, the said installation process the hard drive has not been initialized and click OK to initialize now.
After clicking OK to initialize the system not restarted that at the end pointing upwards on the screen telling me to initialize the hard disk.

Then I tried initializing the disk manually on my desk.
Plugged into my office, initialized and formatted in NTFS. Plugged into the laptop to retry recovery Vista. And once again the same screen appears. Reconnect the disk SSD the Office to see that the player has is more initialized and was to be initialized again.

Then I gave up and installed the SSD on my desktop under master boot and installed perfectly fine with XP. For testing purposes I then handed the ssd with XP pre-installed in the cell to see what happens. To my dismay the computer laptop would not boot and on top of that when I put the SSD drive in the desktop only to see that the drive has been initialized is no longer and I had to reinstall XP again.

    Conclusion:
It seems that the Satellite Pro S300 series is not easy SSD and just post it self off Initialise the Solid State Drives.
This seems to be the logical conclusion that the SSDS works perfectly well on my desktop and the laptop is fine now with the old turntable hard back in.

Does anyone else have this problem or a solution?
I would still put the SSD in my laptop to save energy.

    Hello

The laptop is equipped with common serial ATA HDD.
The SSD might work, but is not a must.

There are several different SSD on the market and a problem of compatibility of equipment can always happen.
Maybe an other SSD would work properly, but these are just suggestions.

    Hello
    I have a Satellite Pro S300 - 11 H running Vista Business.
I registered for the Toshiba Windows 7 Upgrade and received 2 DVDs and minimalist upgrade instructions.

    Following the instructions:
Part 1: Toshiba Upgrade DVD - all the success, after recording all the fingerprints of TrueSuite Access Manager.

Part 2: upgrade to MS Windows 7 DVD - I uninstalled iTunes as it recommended. It then crosses the first steps OK, but on the last step of the installation, it gives the blue screen of death. PC restarts and Vista is restored.

    Part 3: Not running

I wasn't looking over time so don't see does not error messages. Is there a log file of the installation failure Windows 7 that I could check to try to find out why the upgrade failed? Tips and tricks

You can live without TEMPRO. Believe me that. Beast of sounds now but maybe the tool delete as first step I made on my new laptop Satellite.
In any case, if you want to have it just download the latest version of the Toshiba support page.

  • Fully operational GPS on Satellite Pro S300 with F3507g card

    Hello

Some good news. I have the GPS works entirely on the Toshiba Satellite Pro S300 with F3507g 3 G card. I think that the measures to make operational work on any Toshiba laptop with the same card.

It requires new 3G Toshiba drivers for the card that exposes the COM7 GPS port, some trick with the COM port for the card out of the location data (this would have been done by a Toshiba application if they support the GPS), then it will work with any application that supports GPS.

I used the land bridge to verify this works and this allows tracking on Google Earth, see [image here | http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/2262/earthbridgepd2.png] (note that I blanked my exact location because it locates my front door). This signal was achieved with the laptop near a window.

What I plan to do is to make a small application to enable or disable the GPS receiver and will post some instructions on how to address all this, which is quite easy other cunning of Com port that I hope, I can make do with a small, free program.
