DC700 small form factor: lost network card driver

Hello world

First post so please be gentle with me!

I know the below door on an old PC and an old OS, but I'm happy with both and they meet my needs.

I had a recent power cut at home while my PC is turned on. Everything was going well after the restart except the network drivers, who have apparently disappeared?

Record the serial number of the PC to the HP Web site, I learned that the installed network chip is an Intel 62566 DM-2. I therefore downloaded the driver appropriate to HP (SP51782) package and tried to update the driver without result. I also tried to download the drivers from Intel owners with the same result! That's always what I see in Device Manager:

Any tips/advice/guidance would be accepted with gratitude.

Thank you...

Peter

You are the very welcome, Peter.

It's really slow.

Yes, you are probably better off getting a gigabit PCI NIC, but make sure it's a down a profile that comes with the extra-thin bracket.

I would like to avoid a PCI express x 1 NIC

I've read too many messages from people get these PC does not recognize the card, and the PC will not boot.

Can't tell for the life of me why this happens, but that's what I read on these PC dc7xxx.

    Hello:

The problem is that you must incorporate the necessary sata ahci drivers for windows XP to see the hard drive.

Has Windows 7 and XP is too old an operating system to make them.

Read the info at the link below, section of Intel and then read the downloadable PDF document for instructions on how to integrate all the drivers.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-and-software/SATA-drivers-for-XP-solution-on-0x0000007B-BSOD/m-p/114120#M17758

The only other way to install XP on this model is to go into the bios, the storage section and change the setting of sata ahci to ide emulation, save the setting here and once again, when you go out.

The problem is that if you do this, you cannot change the setting for the preferred setting of DCIS, unless you know how to install the correct ahci sata driver after installing XP from the controller.  If you try to just change the setting back on ahci without having to install the controller driver, the PC does not start upward.

Try "slipstreaming" the drivers first and if you can't swing, install XP in IDE mode and I'll help you get the drivers installed, so you can change the BIOS to ahci setting.

  • 8200 elite Small Form Factor: can I add a graphics card in my computer?

So I have a HP Compaq 8200 Elite Small Form Factor and I was wondering if you can add a dedicated graphics card. If so, what are compatible?

Video cards that will be compatible must be discreet and very low power 16 x PCIe video cards.  Low power generally assimilated to the discreet with less than 1 GB of video memory video card. Use these criteria when searching for candidate upgrade video cards.

The following video cards have been listed as optional and is compatible with your HP SFF PC desktop computer.

    graphics card nVidia Quadro NVS295 PCIe x 16, 256 MB 641462-001

    graphics card from nVidia Quadro NVS300 PCIe x 16, 512 MB 632486-001

    Graphics ATI Radeon HD6350 PCIe x 16 512 MB 637995-001

    Graphics ATI Radeon HD6450 PCIe x 16 512 MB 637996-001

    AMD over-pants 2270 PCIe x 16 graphics card, 512 MB

Upgrading the PSU to what would be needed for a video game level card is not sustainable for a Mini PC like yours.

  • Compaq DC5800 sff: compaq dc5800 small form factor 4 monitors

My machine is a Compaq dc 5800 small form factor. Running windows 7.

Wondered what would be the best way to get four monitors to work on this machine. Different programs of 4 separate monitors 4 on each of them, what graphics card should I buyto achieve?

I have a usb to vga thing that might work for a monitor, so this means that I need a chart of small form factor card that can work 2 or do I need one that will run 3. I read that once you install a graphics card, you can't activate the onboard graphics in the bios. I don't want to have this problem. Please help me.

    Thank you

    Here is the Manual:

    Manual

You'll need a card video low - profile pci-e x 16. Even if you buy one with 3 outputs as a vga, one dvi and one HDMI usually you can only use 2.

    http://www.TigerDirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7717576 & SRCCODE = WEBGOOPA & scid = scplp698686 & kpid = 7717576 & gclid = Cj0KEQiAiamlBRCgj83PiYm6 - gBEiQArnojDzV29tsehaj_KoZBvaF_tPNYEd-lz4cTMeNrlTNijXoaAjPg8P8HAQ & gclsrc = aw.ds

And Yes, when you install an add-in pci-e video card, you will lose the integrated graphics card.

In order to drive the moire than 2 monitors you need a second video card, or a multiple display adapter cable. You have a pci-e available x 1 slot and there is such a thing as a video card pci-e x 1 like this:

    http://www.Matrox.com/graphics/en/products/graphics_cards/m_series/m9120pluslpx1/

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=9SIA4UB1J73800

Some of these x 1 cards actually have a quad cable optionally, you can add the display.

These are not for gaming but can run extra for things monitors as having walked fellow RSS site or desktop computers more available to work.

    Hello Sir,

My motherboard will be support nvidia gtx 660 if I upgrade my power supply 500w or 600w. and I have core 2 quad q9550 processor.

Small form factor PC is poor candidates for upgrades.

They are PC entry level designed and produced to run software on corporate networks office productivity.

A power supply for a Mini PC upgrade won't be over 240 Watts as far as I know.

There has been a lot of people who are looking to save money by buying a small form factor PC entry and believe they can be upgraded as a PC game.  It's just not really practical. You may be able to upgrade the video card that can run games modern, but adding that a video card beasty and just food will not happen.

Read through some of the threads where many people try in vain to upgrade their PCs. If you want a gaming machine, it is better to buy one or make one yourself.

My PC is dc 5800 sff small footprint with Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz, 4 GB of RAM. Now it runs with Intel Graphic Media Accelerator 256 MB. I find it difficult to play games (like Pro Evolution Soccer 2015) in full resolution. I've seen a few posts on the forum that says HD 6450 1 GB HP is correct; However, I would like to make 'extra' room 1 GB for the future. And I had Msi Hd 6450 2 GB and Asus Gt 630 2 Gb(GT630-SL-2GD3-L) on the spirit, but do not know if it will market voluntarily on my PC.

Can you help me and suggestions are appreciated?

    Thank you.

    Hello:

Food's owner, which means that you can use only one.

This means that you need to customize a graphics card to work with the existing configuration.

The GT 610 or HD 6450 should work within the limits of the 240W power that has your PC.

Each card must be much better than the card integrated Intel.

I'm not too familiar with the hardware upgrades, so I wonder if a Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB would be compatible with my HP Compaq DC7800 Small Form Factor?

    Hello:

Here is the link to the plug for the GeForce 8800GT...

    http://www.GeForce.com/hardware/desktop-GPUs/GeForce-8800-GT/specifications

Certainly, this card will not work in your machine for two reasons.

    1. he needs a power outlet extra that doesn't have food dc7800.

    2. the draw of the power of the card (105W), is too much for the PCIe x 16 slot 25W prorated and 240W power your PC.

These PCs is designed for light desktop for administration.

If you want to add a video card, it must be a down a profile that comes with low profile brackets in the area.

I recommend the AMD HD 6450 or Nvidia GT-610 low profile cards that will work within the limits of the power supply of your PC has.

    Hello:

For a video card, I recommend the AMD Radeon HD 6450 half-height card, which works perfectly with the 240W power supply in your PC.

Make sure that you get one that includes low profile brackets in the area.

Memory... you can install a maximum of 4 x 2 GB memory PC2-6400 for your model if you are running a 64-bit operating system.

I have used this brand in my dc7800 CMT.  I bought 2 games and maxed out.
