    Hello

The friendly name of a Windows computer, it's how a user recognizes the machine on the network. The friendly name appears also in some software applications and system information. Change the friendly name can be done on the desktop or in the registry.

  • Vista hangs after login, error event ID _

Hello, I had a lot of trouble with the Vista machine for a few days. System boots, I have connection, I see the office, then after a three or four minutes, freeze current applications, then I can't do anything. Freezes even if I do not open all the apps. So I try Ctrl-Alt-Del, nothing seems more answer. So I have to hold down the power button to shut up down, then power, boot without failure. When in safe mode, system seems to work very well. I can access files, etc.

I tried the method suggested to go to msconfig, turning off all services and startup items, then try to turn them back on a few at a time to try to isolate that one poses problems. Last week, I thought that I reduced to superfetch as the problem, so I disabled it, and my system has worked fine for a day, pc used for several hours, then turn it over to freeze problems.

I also tried to go into safe mode event viewer, examine the mistakes and try to solve the problems. I do not have any progress.
I copied the error: ID of event below. Can anyone provide assistance, advice or where to start?
    Thank you.

All the error messages you have posted (most are related to research and are probably not part of this problem - some are related to DCOM which was caused by the initial error of the Service Control Manager won't start don't not because addictive has not started - but it does not say that (but it will be in the paper and I would like to know that) and you seem to have F-Secure Management Agent or something like) it as a secondary firewall that seems not to start but is no big deal if you have Windows Firewall upward and operation - this is a great product and does its job well - a secondary firewall is not really necessary but I guess that he can not hurt, if it works - although this could be the program which intrudes that Mcshane mentioned in his post - system freeze because he thinks (, there is violation of firewall, but I don't know which), the one that concerns me most is:

THIS could very easily cause your system will crash - in fact, I'm surprised, he started even with this error.  Did you get a lot of that or is it only once?  If you get a lot of them, this is a serious problem, we will have to address.

Do you know when this problem started (it seems that you have a close time)?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

If the system restore does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not work, try to start in safe mode (repeatedly hit F8 key so that the start and go in safe mode with networking).  Then we will check some of your system files:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to solve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a cause.

This is not like a malware problem, but it can't hurt to check just to be on the safe side (and since we are almost out of options).  In Safe Mode with network (click several times F8 during the boot process) and try to run anti-malware programs. To resolve this problem (if it is a problem) download, install, and run the following two programs: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php and http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html.  You can also try a free trial of Pandasoft (www.pandasoft.com).  Before you download pandasoft, uninstall all anti-virus program you currently use (because the installation and execution of two simultaneously can cause conflicts, freezes and all sorts of problems).  Once you have uninstalled your current AV program, download, install, update and scan using Pandasoft.  I think you might be amazed at how much she notes that other software missed.  Once complete, uninstall pandasoft and re - install your current AV program (unless you decide to spend that I did when I tried about 4 years ago).  You can also try the new, free Microsoft Security Essentials http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/default.aspx (with the same caveat that only program AV one ALONE can be installed and running on your system at any time). Restart after you have completed all the scans.

If this does not work, you will need to do a repair/system upgrade using the Windows Vista Installation disc authentic (you own or that you can borrow from someone).  Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html as well as the upgrade from an earlier version of the Windows section of the following: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918884.  Although this will not affect your data, settings or programs, you should always back up your data before you start just be on the safe side. If other procedures do not work, it is almost certain to work.  You can have a lot of updates to re - install (including all you need to remove service packs).  If the version on system with SP1 or SP2 preinstalled cane and the disc is an earlier version, then you will need to do a slipstream drive as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/151606-vista-sp1-slipstream-installation-dvd.html.

I hope one of these procedures can solve your problem.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try something else.  Return message anyway so we know how it turns out.

Keep aside the papers, there are real problems with your computer?

If so, can you describe the same thing in short?

"Please contact Support Services Microsoft support to report this error." is a robotic message and generic. Nothing spectacular as such.

  • DCOM problem without an answer - please help

I keep searching for an answer to an error in the event viewer I meet.  Here is this error:

    Event type: error
    Event Source: DCOM
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 10016
    Date: 14/04/2011
    Time: 08:11:34
    User: Authority NT\SERVICE network
    Computer: LEARNING-ADF6F864
    Description:
The application-specific permission settings do not local Activation permission for the COM with the CLSID server application
    {5F36DC27-B076-4D0C-BD8C-7AEE14022193}
the user NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE SID (x-x-x).  This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I have read the information in the Help and Support Center Microsoft - but these instructions are not clear to me.  Here are the instructions:

    To assign permissions

    1. Using Regedit, navigate to the following registry value
      HKCR\Clsid\clsid value\localserver32
The clsid value is the information displayed in the message.
    2. In the right pane, double-click default. Appears in the dialog box change the channels . Leave this dialog box open.
    3. Click Startand then click Control Panel.
    4. Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Component Services.
    5. In the Component Services snap-in, expand computers, expand my computer, and double-click DCOM Configuration.
    6. In the right pane, locate the program by using its friendly name.
    7. Right click on the program name and select Properties.
    8. Under the tab Security , in the launch and activation permissions group box, select Customize, and then click change.

Add the user to the list of permissions and give the user the appropriate permissions.

I do very well until I get to number six on this list - I don't know what is the friendly name.

QUESTION 1 - How can I identify the friendly name in this case?

When I "add the user to the permission list" I guess I'll add 'LEARNING-ADF6F864' to this list.  There is only one user on this computer and it's me.

    QUESTION 2 - is - LEARNING - ADF6F864 the correct entry here?

My operating system is Windows XP SP3.

  • DCOM error Win2K3 SP1 + Update Wizard permissions

    Hi all -

I imported all of a subscriber unit into one of the servers (4.0 (5)) I updated Windows 2003 SP1 and run the Wizard permissions updates which corrects the DCOM problem with master media yesterday. I have attached the error in this post. The error is DCOM event 10016 - machine default permission settings do not have local activation for the COM server application... I was on HIS web of the unity Server authenticated with the administrator account on the unit. I was logged on workstation running IE with domain\userid which corresponds to a Subscriber on the server and has a COS administrator in the unit. The Subscriber of the unit, I imported was imported without other mistakes. Any help would be appreciated. Media master controls also work OK on this server.

    Thanks in advance.

I also had to add the same parameter to AvDSGlobalCatalog to get the search features in SAWeb at work

    Hello SAMCOOWAR,

Did you run a full scan with your antivirus software or any malware removal program recently?  What antivirus software do you currently use?

I suggest running a scan, if you did not already.  Please let us know status.

  • blocking connection on Windows 7

My system is running Win7x64. Access controls required (must provide the password to connect).  Running VMware 6.5.5.

I noticed with VMWare 6.5 + on Windows 7 my host to cling on the screen to enter the password for the connection after choosing an account to connect with.

After experimenting with MSCONFIG and disable all services, then by adding little by little their back test the system every time, I found that when I activated the VMware authorization Service, the host Windows 7 machine will hang indefinitely (> 6-7 hours) after selecting an account to connect with and before the password entry screen appears.

Courtesy of VMware Service disabled, my system starts with no errors.

With VMware authorization Service ACTIVE, my system has the following errors in the system event log:

Any transition happening on the screen stops middle of transition. The shift and caps lock numlock keys on wireless keyboard stop working. Waiting for system to recover is futile (waited all night on two occasions). He died during a print job, the printer is wireless so she would probably go until everything has been has been printed before stopping.

Have little time and resources to play games... but being unemployed also limits of capacity to replace the system (not to mention the displacement of thousands and thousands of data files and reinstall hundreds of installed programs).

Just uninstall all of these updates safe?

  • Error CsBMsgConnector: Unity 4.05 UM w/E2K

Hi, we have this error in our event logs. I found the USBMS_mailbox on the partner server and checked the same login name of account like AvCsMgr. We did a restore of DIRT with success some time so I think the box the letters do not get recreated properly and it may be the original installation? How can I recreate this mailbox? I have stopped the service CsBmsgConnector for now avoid mistakes but you will need the ability to send messages of emissions in the future so would solve this problem.

    HI -.

Copied the two posts online for you :-)

I ended up deleting the account of USBms_ of AD and purged from the mailbox (E2003). I found a stored procedure in the database SQL of the unit called sp_MakeBroadcastMbox. Using utility Explorer data binding (CUDLE) I executed and he updated a table. Now the error has disappeared and things seem to be working again.

    2. posted by: anilve - software dev. Mgr., CISCO SYSTEMS - August 30, 2005, 12:54 pm PST

You use Report Builder queries in CUDLE.

Here is the query that you run-

    =======================================

    DECLARE @RC int

    DECLARE @SyncToDirectory bit

    SET @SyncToDirectory = 1

    EXEC @RC = [UnityDb]. [dbo]. [sp_MakeBroadcastMbox] @SyncToDirectory

    ===============================

Once you press the button run the above query, it will say - 1 affected line. You can also run procedures stored using SQL Query Analyzer, if it is installed on the computer to the unit.

    I hope this helps! Ginger

  • How can I get rid of the system DCOM 10005 error code?

I will be working along and then I get the blue screen. In the event viewer it shows error code 10005 DCOM system and a computer error code of Service Control. This time, the # is 7026. They are different every time. But the DCOM # is always the same.

Make sure that the Search Service is configured to start automatically in the Services Management Console (type Services.msc in the box run from the start menu).

Whenever I restart it is extremely slow and in my opinion, caused by the following 2 errors that appear in the system as event ID 10000 event log:

Unable to start a DCOM Server: {7160A13D-73DA-4CEA-95B9-37356478588A}. Error: '2 '.
Happened at the start of this command:
    C:\windows\system32\igfxext.exe-integration

Unable to start a DCOM Server: {078AEF33-C48A-49F7-AFF3-A0EE810BFE7C}. Error: '2 '.
Happened at the start of this command:
    C:\windows\system32\igfxsrvc.exe-integration

I think they are Intel drivers, but have failed to find a cure for this problem.
Other than a real slow start it seems no problem.
Am that I the only one having this problem and everyone know the cure?

So, you understand where the problem is but why didn t you have installed graphic drivers intel one another? I mean, you know where is the problem and you can correct it.

Otherwise, if a reinstallation does not help, it would be better to completely recover your system to eliminate the problem.
