  Well, you were able to recover your files. I don't know where you have saved your files, but you can use the search function and search your favorites using this search term "bookmark *.» *«. It should be very probably a JSON extension file.

  Yes, there is a way. Open the Bookmark Manager (it is Ctrl + Shift + B), go to import and backup (it must be something like that. My Firefox is not in English, so I'm not sure on names). In this menu, you can either create a backup file that can be transferred to your laptop computer or export your bookmarks in HTML format , then import this HTML file on the laptop.

  If the installation provided with your Windows computer discs was preinstalled on the computer - it is OEM and cannot be moved. You can move Windows to another computer if you buy the retail version.

You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on one computer at a time (and if it's a version upgrade the new Windows computer must have its own license of qualification). The previous Windows installation on your old computer must be formatted or deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation.   New computer installed Windows 7 and gave me an option to use Windows easy transfer to transfer files, data, programs, etc. from my old computer.  All I have from the old computer's hard drive; a lightning strike fried either food or his mother by car.  I have attached the hard as a disk to the new computer using the usb cable provided with the external hard drive case.  It is recognized as drive E: on the new computer.

  Do yourself a favor, with the old drive connected externally, in the browser, simply copy the data files to the location of Documents of the PC win7. You can not copy programs, they need to be reinstalled from media origonal. You can copy all the downloaded files instalation

  I just did mine 01/01/2016, installed a new WD 500 GB HDD black on my laptop ASUS K52F, took my DVD 4 restore disks and restored to Win 7 Home Premium, more 10 Windows, which is sitting on my old HDD in the trash. I'll stick with my Original OEM OS and never improve to WIN 10 times.
