  • Need Switchable Graphics for Windows 8 after upgrade?

    Hey guys,.

I see several issues where people lose their switchable graphics after upgrade to Windows 8.

Now, the only drivers graphic switchable which must be downloaded for future needs on the site of the factory which should be HP.

Now, is the first step, we want to take

    • Check and see if your mobile phone is supported by Windows 8.

You can check HERE to see if it is supported.

If this isn't the case, then more than likely there will be no available drivers until the phone is supported.
    • If the laptop is supported by Windows 8 HP website and your product type # in the next selection > and then select the operating system > click Next > and look under the section that says "Driver - Graphic" and start the download.
In addition, there are several places where you can find ' workaround ' meaning drivers, you can download switchable graphics 3 third-party sites. As AMD and Other installs

    Other facilities

It will be the call to users to go and download these drivers. Now that could be a hit or miss.

SO BE VERY CAREFUL OF ANYTHING TRY YOU AND DOWNLOAD IMITATING SWITCHABLE GRAPHICS DRIVERS.

  • Switchable graphics for windows 8.1

When I arrived to my laptop it was switchable graphics, then, I upgraded my windows to windows 8.1 8. After I did it I downloaded the AMD catalyst driver that was specifically for windows 8.1 and now for switchable graphics functionality disappeared. Does this mean that when I go to the games he will automatically know to use my graphics for AMD / Intel graphics card?

The way to do is to download and install the package from the HP AMD and to install all. Then download the driver for AMD thenadapter and installi for the AMD HD graphics card via Device Manager. This can be a decent workaround. Try it and share your results. It is the catalyst control panel located on the HP support server that is specially coded switchable graphic interface, not the driver.

  • Switchable graphics need to ATI Mobility Radeon 5400 series and Intel HD Graphics for Windows 8

    Hello Sir,

My laptop is HP Pavilion dm4-1063 cl. Now I have upgraded to Windows 8 and I can't use graphics switcable ATI Mobility Radeon 5450 and HD Graphics from Intel. Please help me! Which one I need to install on my Windows 8?

    Thank you very much

    Steven

    Hello Steven_29,

In order to use switchable graphics, you will need to go to HP.com and download the driver for Windows 8 if it is available.

If this isn't the case, you may need to go back to win7 to use switchable graphics.

Here is a ">link to another thread that Cloud_Strider posted which may help.

I would like to know how everything goes.

  • Not able to install switchable graphics after windows 7 installed on HP Pavilion G4 cost

I replaced the HDD with SSD and windows 7 ultimate (X 64) installed on my laptop HP Pavilion G4. However, I am not able to install on my laptop switchable graphics now.

    I tried this

1 installed HPSA and run the update and tuneup. He asked me to update ' AMD high definition Graphics Driver "but it failed with several attempts and after awhile now he doesn't want to do this update at all. Now everything is green in HPSA but I'm still not able to switch graphics

2 tried to download drivers HP page, but it says 'AMD Catalyst Mobility cannot be downloaded because of incompatible hardware/software on your computer.

3 tried to uninstall the driver but windows update drivers automatically.

    4. I've also updated suggested such BIOS http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02948560 but still no luck

I don't really know what I can do here. There are some similar queries in the forum but they seems to be for different models.

    Can someone please?

Product name: HP Pavilion Notebook PC g4

Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Service Pack 1

Well, I managed to finally install.

    That's what I did

1 looked up the number of my product in the drivers

    2. Recovery Manager installation

    3. AMD graphics card driver Version8.810.4.5000. (I tried earlier but did not work this time)

I tried two things earlier, but not sure about the sequence... No doubt this time I tried both of them after the BIOS update.

  • Switchable graphics using Windows Update update

    Good evening

This may be a very stupid question, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere else.

I have a HP Envy-m6 with switchable graphics, with the usual of an Intel HD 4000 combination and an AMD Radeon HD 7600M graphics card.

When I bought the laptop and did not realize he had switchable graphics, I made the mistake of updating the drivers for one of these cards through the manufacturer sites, bringing all to go haywire. I finally managed to restore it and I was told that the only way in which you can update these drivers is via the software driver on the HP website offerend (or perhap use HP Support Assistant).

However, only today, Windows Update indicated that there were updates for pilots of the AMD and Intel. My question is simple: can I update the two drivers through Windows Update, or it will cause switchable graphics break?

If I can't use Windows Update to update these drivers, HP will come out a combined driver package that integrates these new drivers on the Support Web site at some point?

Apologies if these questions are obivous, but I couldn't easily find the answer elsewhere, and I would rather have to re-install my drivers from scratch once again.

    Hi Tio_Holzman,

Updates Windows checks the site of the manufacturer for updated drivers.  I recommend that you use the HP drivers, HP may have modified them for your exact system.  As you said when you install the drivers from the manufacture website, they do not always perform as you want and this is why.

The HP Support Assistant check the HP site for the current drivers for you exact model.

Pilots will be published or updated at the discretion of HP.

I hope that this has answered your questions.

  • Switchable graphics in Windows 8?

Hello (please forgive my English waste ).

I recently bought and installed windows 8.

The transition from Windows 7 to Windows 8 was smooth and relatively flawless, but I have a question:

My computer (HP Pavilion dv6) has 2 graphics cards, one to save the battery (family AMD graphics card) and the other for games and other (something AMD radeon HD graphics card), but given some of the games I ran smoothly at a framerate high on the old operating system runs badly with a very low framerate, I don't think it changes the graphic card it uses. I downloaded and installed an updated for the 'gaming' graphics card driver

Is it possible to make it again change? I want to say that I can do at the moment?

    Thanks in advance,

  • U330 Switchable Graphics Driver Windows 7?

    Hi all

Just got my new switchable u330 with switchable ATI Radeon HD 3450 graphics. Made the switch to Windows 7 last night and just published in a bunch of problems, especially the lack of access to the switchable graphics.

I have checked the Web site of the main breadwinner and found virtually all the other drivers that I need, except the switchable graphics driver. I do not understand that the Thinkpads have switchable graphics drivers on the download site, but there is currently no Ideapads.

Anyone solve this problem? Should I go back to windows vista in order to use this ability? Pretty crappy, if that's the case. I'll be even able to run again, even if I switch back? I'd really appreciate any input you guys can provide.

    Thank you!

The closest official response is that the official driver of Windows 7 will be available on or about the public Microsoft October 22.

In the meantime you can troubleshoot by testing the drivers beta Windows 7.

  • Latitude E6420: no switchable graphics in Windows XP?

    Hi all

The 6420 Latitude that I bought a few weeks ago came with Windows 7 Professional pre-installed, with which worked switchable graphics Intel/Nvidia. Now with Windows XP, Device Manager shows only the Nvidia card, no trace or the onboard Intel. I'm assuming that means that the machine works always with dedicated graphics under XP. My hypothesis is correct, or I forgot something? (I tried to install Intel drivers, but received messages to the effect that the system is not supported).

    TIA,

    Shady

That's correct - XP does not support switchable graphics.

  • Deliver the switchable graphics card Windows 8.1

Hi, I had a problem since upgrading to Windows 8.1 with my graphic card on my laptop. I tried to go through the official support, but they were not very useful (I wanted to reinstall windows 7 and stick to it) so I decided to try one last time to repair my laptop here.

I have a HP ENVY Ultrabook 4 - 1053tx http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4132&lc=en&cc=my&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5285... , which has no windows 8.1 on the site of HP drivers. It came with Windows 7 that I upgraded to 8 (no problems with it).

Since the upgrade to 8.1, I met the following problems:

-Audio is choppy / stutters not bad, which is very annoying when listening to music. I am facing this problem in any media player, I have try and on Youtube/all other Web site. This problem occurs only when the laptop is connected which leads me to think that it is a problem with the 7670 M Radeon HD card or driver. The laptop is on the 'performance' mode when plugged in (i.e. the best graphics) and use the Intel one 4000 when it's on battery power.

-If the laptop goes to sleep / screen saver turns on, I sometimes wake up questions. Sometimes the screen goes black for a few seconds then the office returns, and a box at the bottom on the right say that the Radeon driver handed over a fall.

-J' have a video game installed (Football Manager 2012 through Steam). If the laptop is disconnected, or I put the game specifically to use graphs when it is connected to energy saving, the game loads fine. He tries to open with the Radeon card, it hangs or does not load. This happens every time.

Symptoms make me feel that there is something wrong with the Radeon graphics card or its drivers. I tried to reinstall the intel and drivers radeon (win 8 versions), but it has not solved the problem. I also tried to install the driver to win 8.1 for the 7670M I found here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4158&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5371... but it also does not solve the problem.

I tried to reinstall win 7, then upgrade to 8, then the upgrade to 8.1, but which does not either. I am out of resources on this topic. I don't really want to go back to windows 8 as I like the improvements to the 8.1 but these questions (one audio including) are driving me crazy.

Thanks for reading this, I hope that you have any ideas for me. :-)

Well, I think that I found a solution to my problem for a long time. It seems to boil down to a problem with the start program Intel RepID. I changed the mode "acceleration" of "Maximized" by establishing "Enhanced" in it, and so far this has solved the problem! I've been using the laptop plugged in for a little over an hour and no problems so far.

I can't take credit for the difficulty, I stumbled on this thread that had the same symptoms whch pointed only when it is connected, and they thought it was to do with the technology of quick start: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio/Crackling-sound-while-playing-music-in-HP-SPECTRE-15-4010nr/td-p/2386327/page/5

In any case, thanks for your help @Dindin trying to solve the problem. I hope that this means no more problems with my laptop :-)

  • additional graphics for windows 7 32 bit

I have a PC running Windows 7 32 bit, powered by the processor intel i5 2nd genration (32 bit). It has 4 GB of RAM and built-in 1 GB memory graphics. Now I plan to upgrade my graphics memory by adding the graphics card of 2 GB (Radeon, ATI...).

This can affect the performance of the system?

I watched a lot of messages saying that the available memory may get reduced if I add this additional graphics memory.

    Please suggest.

"I watched a lot of messages saying that the available memory may get reduced if I add this additional graphics memory."

This only happens if you are using a laptop or a PC with integrated graphics that "shares".

RAM system with the graphics accelerator, in which case the maximum limit for your motherboard

can be only 1 GB anyway (the setting for "shared" system RAM graphics is located in the BIOS).

-With the current series of Nvidia, the GTX750ti can be considered a close replacement for the GTX560ti, with the added benefit of low energy consumption and the extra 1 GB of VRAM.

Only 300W power minimum is necessary for the GTX750ti.

-However, for about the same price you could get a GTX660, who needs a minimum 450W power supply, but performs better than the GTX560 ti and GTX750ti.

-Also check the comments for the AMD 265 R7 and R9 270 and compare the performance and price

with Nvidia cards in your area.

Having more than 1 GB VRAM can be useful with some AAA latest titles to run max @1920 X 1080 settings, especially if wanting to use Anti-Aliasing 2 X higher settings.

Only a handful of games use a lot more than about 1.30 GB of VRAM

EG - Crysis 2 uses 1.8 GB with my set-up.

-As mentioned Mike... 2GB VRAM is not always equivalent to a faster card. Some low-end cards

delivered with 2 GB of VRAM (like a gimick), but they cannot deal with this amount of data efficiently.

Read a few reviews compared to the indicators of game.

-GTA4 can use a little more than 1 GB of VRAM, but you really need 64-bit Windows.

While even heavy system RAM use games go much more than 4 GB of system RAM, you are currently

not even get all the benefits of 4 GB, due to running Win7 32 bit.

BTW - GTA4 has bad folding (one of several problems being wrong door console on PC).

but this can be corrected by using the FXAA in Control Panel Nvidia (MLAA if you use AMD card).

Other anti-aliasing options have no effect on the aliasing in GTA4.

  • T400 - video feature - Switchable Graphics

ThinkVantage System Update detected, downloaded and I installed the update ' features of video of ThinkPad (Switchable Graphics) for Windows Vista Version 8.52.4.4 - 080919 a-069896C-Lenovo. The status reads 'Have not installed' even if I chose "install automatically after downloading.

The side effect is that I do not see the "Catalyst Control Center" in the Notification area, or anywhere else on the computer.

How can I remedy this? Is there a way to get the update of the system to download and install again?

    Thank you!

The issue has been resolved. I had to manually download and install the switchable graphics software from lenovo site. I can see the Catalyst Control Center back.

I think you meant dv6t - b 6, 00.  That threw me off for a while.  The AMD driver for your model (SP59850) is scheduled for release soon.  Keep control of the download page or the ftp site.  It will include the Catalyst Control Center.
