dealing with points of reference on green screen?

I am putting together a small shot of green screen involving a pan across a table top with glasses, sitting on the table.

I was about to mark the green screen to follow the bottom, so I can put in a layer of a bar scene in post.

my amateur question is how do you deal with inlay on the track on the green screen in post points?

should I make sure that the marks on the green screen are a certain color?

I was wondering how it works when I move into the glasses and see the markers in the background through the glass?

Thank you!

Dean

The best option for tracking of markers is to make the same color as your background but about 1 stop more light or darker in color. Most of the tracking software will manage this difference very well. The second thing we do is make big enough markers so that they are at least 15 to 30 pixels wide in the shot. They've got to be big enough to track. The third clue is to use as much depth of field you can so the edges of the markers are sharp. Avoid the blur of movement and markers of development.

Make sure that your markers will show the prospect. Don't put them right on the rear wall. You need at least 4 on the table top and about twice that many on the wall back. The markers that have different geometric shapes are also easier to follow than the circles. Triangles, cross, square...

Try and plan your photo so that you do not have the markers through the glass...

Last Council... He is a great. If you want key glass remember that glass is very reflective. Put as much white behind the camera and on the sides you can for glassware looks good and has some interesting thoughts. If you have a sample of the bar of the texture or the background, see if you can place that strategically so that reflections appear in the glass.

Now that I'm done with the advice, here is a requirement. Do not pull on DV or HDV, or any other color space compressed original film. You need all the color information, you can get to draw a convincing key with your main subject glassware.

Here are the images I'm trying to follow in AE:

The images is simply done the wrong way. The author of it (this is a 3D rendering, of course) didn't know how to do it correctly. For this kind of thing you need a grid on the screen, not just markers or the person should have to provide details of its 3D program for example through cinema 4 d AEC export. Actually I just use a 3D layer and line it up with the images, and then hand animate what is what you have to do, anyway, for some parts. There is simply no good way to follow this with AE - 2D, 3D step. If a tool tip like 3D Equalizer could be able to buckle on the laptop using follow-up based on the geometry by defining the limits of the boxes, but I guess you can't save 50000 Euros for this work...

  • get a green screen with no video only sound

Why do I get a green screen with no video only sound?  Is this a driver problem?

    Hello

Try a new installation of the Flash plug-in as follows.

First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    Flash Player Uninstaller.

Once the download is complete, close all the browser windows, open your downloads folder and run the program uninstaller.  Once done, restart the laptop.

Then (unless you already have it), download and install Firefox , then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash. Note: You can deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading.

Close all browser windows before you run the installer of Flash.

Start Firefox and see if the videos etc. play Ok in this browser - if they do, close Firefox, open Internet Explorer and click on the same link Adobe Flash above to get a command prompt to install the Flash component.  Once completed, restart Internet Explorer.

  • HP laptop: Video Green Screen with sound

I just bought a HP laptop laptop 15-f111dx A8 series 8gm, 750 GB.  When you try to view videos on you tube or facebook I have sound but no picture, just a green screen.  I went online to try to find a solution and have upgraded Flash Drive. It worked once and after turning the computer and turn on again, he returned to green screen.  All the patches I've read on the internet are for older computers or another version of Windows. What can be done to correct this. A brand new computer should not be set up correctly before buy you?

    Hi @Novice60,.

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I'm sorry you are having problems with your new laptop HP 15-f111dx.  I looked into your problem with video does not properly or the green. Try clicking on the green screen, in the tab named storage Local and put 10 k and the green screen should disappear.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need to update the graphics driver may need to be updated.

Have you tried another browser? This link will help you to upgrade your browser if necessary.

  • Dolly zoom with green screen in the background

I'm about to do a shoot with my subject based on a table with a green screen set directly behind. I recently decided that I wanted to do a cart in, to zoom back, but realized I might have a problem trying to get this effect of dizziness with a green screen and no real picture during shooting. Is it as simple as zoom in firing and then dolly by placing the image in later? Any help would be much appreciated.

The Vertigo Alford Hitchcock effect is created by placing a leading player and then moving the camera to the actor while zoom you back to keep the actor of the same size in the frame.  Perspective is controlled by the position of the camera so that camera movements to the actor of the relationship between the actor and the substantive changes. You get all kinds of travel natural Parallax that awaits your eye. When you zoom while you move your brain does not expect the framing remains constant as the perspective moves. This gives you the effect of dizzying Vertigo.

I tell you all this because if you want to remove this with a green screen, you have to shoot a background plate with the same or almost the same schedule as you shoot the Green screenshot.  Let's say you press down on the cart for four seconds and move 10 feet. During that four second dolly you zoom from 70 mm to 24 mm. To make the effect that you will need to choose something for a flat bottom which has enough geometry in the shot to give you perspective and Parallax changes and positioned the camera about the same distance from your player does not exist it would be if it was in the scene. You then the second even 10 feet and 70-24mm zoom 4 you made to operate the shooting in the studio. Just use a still image or a locked off camera shot like a bottom plate, you won't get the effect of strong "vertigo" you get hit for roll of shooting.  I discovered this the hard way when I shot a film about of 15 years who needed a dozen effect dizziness hits. I had to reshooting plates bottom about four times until we finally get to work. All other attempts just looked weird.

Why some videos play well on Facebook while others have only audio with a green screen?

    Hello

Green screens are almost always a sign of a video driver issue.  Could you please send the contents of your "Display devices" section after generating a DXDiag report?

What is a Dxdiag and how to report a?

I suspect you may have an outdated video driver.  This FAQ can help you learn the steps required to update:

Finally, if the driver update doesn't help, try turning off hardware acceleration using the steps described here:

    Hi, try this:

Hi, if you have not disabled the functionality of hardware acceleration, so I suggest you do that. Go on youtube and at the beginning of the video, right-click on it and click on settings and you should see a display setting. Disable hardware acceleration.
It is also recommended to update your chart and the latest video drivers. You can see an improvement by simply turning the hardware acceleration feature.
    See if that helps.

  • Casts a shadow on the ground with green screen images

    Hello

I have pictures of green screen of a player market with a green screen. After the green screen overlay I want to cast a shadow of the object on the ground. Seems simple enough :-) I have tried everything I can think my green screen images like a layer 3D and then add lights, which appear to be rising shadows/light on the actor, but not cast shadows. Shadow a shadow directly behind the actor but no way to "move" it is on the floor.

If someone could provide guidance, I would be very happy.

    Thank you

    Hi bogiesan,.

    Thanks for the help.

My film is shot with a green ground. The problem I have is that the final product must be an actor walking with a transparent background, but casts a shadow on the ground. So that the shaow displayed any context the customer decides to use the video with.

If I try to apply a drop shadow or a radial shadow the shadow BEHIND the actor not appear below. I must do this 10 times more difficult it must be.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks again,

    Bob

I'm not enter the question, then, sorry. Just use the shade that you have captured. A chromakeyer to shadow is not difficult.

The problem with faking a shadow is, Yes, it is ten times more difficult than do in the original shooting because of all the problems we have discussed. There is no interaction with the feet with a layer of shadow and 3D projection is realistic enough to be accepted by an audience; It will still look fake. You CAN create a 3D shadow carefully placing a light in a 3D scene and place a copy of your matted character perpendicular to the light source and by setting the layer to cast the shadow only. But this is not always true.

  • Green screen with video call

I had an update today on my version of the Skype android tablet. Before the update, I have not had any problems to make video calls. Now the other user can hear me, but only sees a green screen. I made sure I'm on the right camera and everything. On my Tablet I see the view of my camera, all right, but not the other end of my call.

    Help.

It is a problem of manufacturer: eg inear July 1, HTC has done the update of 3.32... to 3.33... for some countries but not in others, such as in the Canada. • Green screen with Toshiba Satellite C75D-A

Hi Alicia, don't mean to raise an old issue of 2 months, but what described you exactly Word for Word is EXACTLY the problem I have in Windows 8. Exactly. I can't right click videos to disable "hardware acceleration" either. Using software rendering instead of the GPU also tends to not work. I had this problem about 3 months after the purchase of laptop. Which is a Toshiba so its different than yours. Updated all drivers (which is a pain on Toshiba) and have tried everything. Don't be fooled by quick fixes, generally restart, waiting and what not he will restore the videos but they always back to green screens.

The ONLY thing that did a temporary fix, and even if it didn't work 100%, maybe like 75% is go to advanced options in IE and hit the "reset" button, then restart my computer. Unfortunately, I have to go and redo all my settings, which is a pain, but which sometimes fix it.

The videos that this is the case, unfortunately, are all types of video, not just adobe. YouTube videos, video advertising on the side of web pages even. I'm still trying to find a solution to this for 8 months. The only satisfaction I get, is that videos inexplicably start working again after a day. If you can't find a permanent solution, I'd love to hear it.

The real problem is that your graphics drivers are buggy.  Disable hardware acceleration allows you to work around the problem, but we are doing all of this treatment on the main CPU, which means you use more resources system and power to do the job.

If you run Windows Update automatically, you can check just for graphics driver updates periodically and toggle this setting to see if the problem goes away.  You can also notify Toshiba, as an increase in the volume of requests for information helps to learn more about the problems in the field and to give priority to these kinds of patches.
