Debate on AAC and mp3

So I somehow "forgot" to do better than 320 mp3s and ripped my whole collection of 250 CDs on my PC. I know I used iTunes before BLADE, but it was when I got an iMac. (BLADE takes also more space so not very good for laptop...) So when I read recently that AAFC was better (I'm not without loss, I need small files to put music on my iPhone) I almost had a heart attack. However when I looked inside, it seems AAFC seduced only mp3 192 broadband or bottom so I have nothing to fear... I also did a blind test and the mp3s seem to be equivalent to 320 in the AACs to 256, which is also what a lot of people. Also reading at higher rates, it becomes a difference in encoding features and this that they both appear on specific songs, rather than 'quality '.

I know in my heart that I could have pulled off a better way, or used LAME, but how much quality do you think I really lost by not using not no AAC? We are talking about any live CD to 320. I also read that the iTunes mp3 encoder is crap... I really need to know why people say that when others say it is better than some other encoders. iTunes uses which version of the Fraunhofer encoder? I know I should give me peace of mind so I ask maybe in trouble by posting this question, and I have already 'hear' and 'think', I haven't lost much if any, using 320mp3 instead of AAC but I would like to know what others think about it. I hope I will not have to mature my 250 new CD! And what iTunes mp3 encoder uses, it cannot be THAT bad or "antique"? If I can't tell him to AAFC! (I worked in a studio before and I can't hear the difference!) Take a look at the links below that back up what I say.

Thank you

Most of the people - especially if you use iTunes to listen to music on the computer speakers or using standard headphones with an iDevice - will not be able to tell the difference between mp3/320 and aac/256.  Forget engineering analyses - let your ears decide.  Personally, I use aac/256 during extraction of a CD (more usual rather than anything else), but buy digital media from Amazon (AAFC) rather than the iTunes Store (mp3) - mainly for reasons of portability to non-Apple devices.

Overall, the perceptible difference between mp3/320 and aac/256 is far, far smaller than between these and any coding lossless... and there are many combinations of recorded music and the ears of the people for which even this difference is insignificant.

I would like to convert AAC to MP3 audio files.  How can it be done?  I would like to transfer my songs on a flash drive to plug into my car audio system to play my songs.  The interesting thing is that on my drive hard it shows that the music file is MPEG-4 audio type - this type of file will play on stereo car if I copy these files directly to a flash drive.

There was a time when we could select all the songs, right click and select Convert to MP3.

Thank you, in advance for your answer.

(NOTE: the songs are already on my drive hard and do not intend to import them again)

(NOTE 2: If someone used AnyTans - for Windows?) If so, what are your thoughts on his performance?)

MPEG-4 audio is another description for files to AAC format or .m4a.

Import or convert the format is defined in Edition > Preferences > General > import settings. You will lose a little quality by converting, so you would normally keep the originals. Define a flow similar to the original. Don't serve him no 128 k AAC 320 k MP3 conversion.

  • AVI and MP3 thumbnails have disappeared, help?

So I used to be able to display the thumbnails of the avi and mp3 files. Mp3 files have their work displayed, so it was much aesthetic. Avi files had a screenshot. Its not really a drawback, but it looked nice. So, if anyone could help? Here are the screenshots of my problems.

Thanks in advanced for any help.

    Hello

This problem occurs because Windows Vista cannot update the thumbnail cache.

To resolve this problem, reset the thumbnail cache. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. on StartCollapse this includes this image, click on all programs, accessories, click System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup.

    2. If you are prompted, click my files only.

    3. in the files to delete list, click thumbnails.

Note Configure other options you want.

    4. click OK and then click on delete files.

As I was trying to shoot of boredom that I realized that I couldn't hear anything with the headphones plugged into the headphone jack 3.5 mm. Then I discovered that the hp support site has all the drivers for my model spectrum.

I followed the instructions listed here... http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-spectre-13-4000-x360-convertible-PC/7527520/model/7791774/doc...

but nothing has fixed the problem. To the best of my knowledge, I have all the latest drivers from Realtex and Intel. There is no driver option Microsoft High Definition Audio "generic" indicated in the list of drivers on my computer and I didn't understand how to get a.

    Can anyone help?

    @Jim0505

    Thanks for the reply,

I did some research and found this link contains driver HD Audio Windows (generic), although this is not necessary if the drivers realtek audio have already been updated.

If the helmet works on another device and still does not work on this computer, it is possible port is faulty.

I would recommend that you get it repaired or replaced by HP support by phone:

HP technical support are available by clicking on the following link:

  • Turbo - Pandora and MP3 too low volume w / Bluetooth

    Hi all

I hope that the forum can help, I have spent the weekend looking for this and other forums and still can not find a solution to my problem.

I have a Turbo that I've been using listening to Pandora, IHeartRadio, Google Music and Amazon music player, but also to play MP3 Poweramp and the app Amazon (for local files) and it worked without problem with an accessory Belkin auto Conenct Bluetooth via the aux on the RAV4, and it worked pretty well for the last 2 years (Droid Maxx before the Turbo words)

This weekend I bought a Hyundai Tucson to 2013 with Bluetooth factory, and while volumes for the phone and for notifications are fine, when I try to play any kind of music, MP3 streaming either stored locally, the volume seems to be half that of other sources. CDs play fine and I burned some MP3 files on a disc and they play very well this way, so it isn't a problem with the MP3 files themselves.

I read that there are problems with the Turbo, with the Tucson, but I've also read of this same problem happening with other brands of phone and the car if she can't be unique for the Turbo or HYundai, but of something inherent in Android. All I know is that I use my phone as a source of music a little and it's embarrassing.

Yes, I made sure the volume of BT is set while the device is streaming, the volume of the media is set as high as possible, I uninstalled everything that can affect the volume with the exception of profile of Volume, which I use with Tasker to ensure my phone not to ring too loudly at work (I have a trigger defined for the SSID of the network to the office which uses a setting saved to breast Profile of volume, when not in the office, I have a reverse rule set to use the 'Normal' setting Thinking that maybe that's the problem I checked and it had been set at 10 on a scale of 15 but put at 15 did not improve the situation.

I tried Volume +, which is supposed to hang on the API and volume boost beyond the normal max level, but this had no effect, either.

Anyone encountered this, or have ideas or suggestions? (I know that the last update release notes indicate that a change was made to the volume of Bluetooth but a) it does not seem to affect the profile of audio BT and b) it worked well after the update with my Belkin BT accessory.

I'm very grateful for any help, thank you!

    Matt

    Hello

I'm no longer Hunt the Turbo as the culprit of this issue, I've now matched my phone with several other vehicles (including another Hyundai, an Elantra 2013) and it has well in other cases... at this stage, it cannot be the vehicle.

I'll pull the fuse for the audio system see if I can reset by providing sufficient volume, and I am also pursuing a resolution through my dealer, either via some sort of update or replacement of the radio under my warranty Platinum.

    Thank you for your help,

    Matt

  • The weird sound quality with backlight Fuze and mp3 VBR

    Hello world

I got my Sansa Fuze (firmware 01.01.11F) 2 weeks and I have noticed a weird problem:

When I'm playing some VBR mp3 files, the duration is not displayed correctly. Files of start playing very well, but when the backlight of the screen gets off (settings I tried different time, show all the same problem), the sound quality deteriorates strongly. These are mp3 files that I ripped directly from audio CD, samples are available on request.

Has anyone else had this problem?

    Kind regards

    Soenke

The question is under development.  Lower rate VBR can trigger the processor at a slower pace, the origin of the problem.  If the backlight is on, there is more work for her, and the rate increases.  The noise disappears.

The decline in the rate increases the battery time.  This problem will be resolved in a future firmware version.

  • Conversion of Wav and mp3 to WMA lossless?

    Hello.

I have been using Windows Media Player 11 on XP Home edition 32 bit and Vista Home Premium 32 and 64-bit. I'm not sure is WMP 12 is different from 11. iTunes converts files...

I can rip cd to mp3, Wav and WMA Lossless. It's ok.

-How can I convert other audio files or screenshots that I made in mp3, Wav, WMA Lossless etc?

Windows Media Player 11 software and Zune does not have an option to convert that I see.

-Is there any software that Microsoft has done or that is third fact which will convert the audio files in WMA Lossless? I would like a good convert.

I have discs vinyls and video tapes that I've captured and digitized. I can make mp3 and Wav files out of them in Nero 6 and I have a production program. But I wanted a WMAL also.

Some sites don't sell or offers mp3 or other compressed files, it is important to be able to record audio files.

    Thank you.

Windows Media Encoder 9 was very useful, I used it
several times but as you know it is obsolete now.

Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 can be worth a try.

  • Several modules of COD and mp3s

    Hello world.

Our company makes PC games and is branching out into various other formats; iPhone, Blackberry, etc.

I make a version of Blackberry from one of our games which is a little larger than the traditional Blackberry apps.  From now all assets etc. come out to be about 7 MB (note most of them are not loaded at the same time, there are several screens, phases, etc.).  So here are my questions.

    (1) the documentation seems to imply that there is no limit on the size of the COD file after that version 4.0 is out.  However, we seem to have hit a wall in a few words about the mark of 6 MB.  After that I start getting weird errors when I start the Simulator not being able to find classes such as Bitmap, and resources.  Once I have remove resources that put me over the limit, everything goes back to work.  Can anyone confirm or deny this size limit?

    (2) I could avoid the first issue of splitting things up in several projects.  So I have a project of library with assets for a certain part of the game and another library of cod with assets in another part of the game, plus a file of cod with all the code.  This works very well for the loading of graphics when I use the Bitmap.getBitmapResource (), which also takes a module name.  However, now, I have a problem with the sounds.  If I put the sounds of the game in a separate module of cod, I don't see no mechanism by which I can retrieve this add-on when I need to create the javax.microedition.media.Manager object using the getResourceAsStream().  Someone at - it no experience when trying to load a sound from a separate module of cod? It seems that no matter what I use, I seem to end up with a null data stream object.  I tried to use a class in the sound as parent of getResourceAsStream() like this module...

    Class.forName("com.blah.soundsmodule.ClassInSoundModule").getResourceAsStream (filename);

And the base getClass () .getResourceAsStream (filename) in every combination I can think... put the file at the base, or nested where I actually want folder structure wise, using the "/" before the file name (and leave it turned off), but any combination that I use, I find myself with a null stream.  Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Forrest

Hey, thanks for the quick response.

I wasn't able to get cod: / / working for me, but I like the idea.  If you had an example of code, I would like to see it.

However, I have solved my problem by having a class with a static method in the cod library file that gets the InputStream object and it returns to the main application in the main cod.  Thought I'd post my method in case someone else runs into a similar issue.

  • Export the clip with no video, audio only and keep the timecode

I have transcribed for a documentary film clips. There are many of them and my transcribers using a program that can use the timecode of audio and video files.

We are Dropboxing so I want them to be just audio files, but I need the timecode to stay on the clips when I export the audio.

So far he strips and all I get is life.

The original videos are in. MTS format. They import in first CC very well, but when I export the audio the initial timecode disappeared.

The other option would be to compress the video and the watermark, but the time code disappears when I do that too.

I think that I get it.

You want just the files as small as possible. Right? That's why you just want audio?

Well, rather than do without the video completely, just to reduce the flow of something terribly weak, where the video is barely able to be seen. You want to export to a format that the program can handle, like Quicktime. But where I could export to 25 Mb/s, you might be able to export 1 Mb/s. The video will look terrible. Well, so what? Who cares? Right?

    But there the timecode.

When their web page says they can accept different audio formats, I don't think they hear audio by itself. They mean that the audio in the video stream may be audio AIFF, WAV, AAC and MP3.

  • Audio IOS RTMP live stream

Hi guys I hope that some of you will be able to help me.

I'm trying to stream audio from a live RTMP stream using the NetConnection and NetStream classes. I managed to get my app works without problem on Android, but I have some major difficulty make him play the audio back on iPad. Interestingly, it works in the device emulators when you are debugging, but I guess this isn't really an accurate representation. I tried streaming RTMP in AAC and MP3, but without success to be. I check through debugging that there haven't connected to the stream, however I just get no audio playback.

Everything I read on door to believe that this is possible on IOS that I'm only interested by audio and video not. Can anyone help?

Just an update on this for all of you who come along after me.

I managed to get this working on the MP3 but not AAC (I guess just AAC is not taken in charge?).

My problem was the buffertime. Docs seemed to indicate that it should be set to 0 for live streaming, however he switch to "1" has solved my problem on the particular flow I pointed at.

So, essentially above the justchanged line:

    ns.bufferTime = 0;

    TO

    ns.bufferTime = 1;

Would be nice to know if someone got AAFC works though...
