  • How to convert the Ascii string containing hex to hex string info?

    Dear all,

I am busy doing a control/reading program for pumps of ISCO.

Right now I'm in trouble with to send orders for PUMPS in HEXADECIMAL. When I use a CONTROL to the STRING in HEX display, everything works fine (when I manually write down the command in the control of the chain).

Exist it a couple of pieces order: string Destination, length, ordering, Checksum. I'm doing a sup - screw that automatically calculates the checksum (modulo 256) and adds it to the string. Everything is going well: first of all, I shared the ascii bytes command and I calculate the checksum and add as ASCII HEXADECIMAL value to the chain of command. Also a CR (= 0d) is added. Now the whole string must be converted to hex. The string contains the right nummers HEX, but they are in ASCII format. Here was I feel worth it, I don't know how to do it!

    So to summarize:

I have an ascii string that contains the values HEX (for example 315230303652454D4F544531420D) and it must be converted to a HEX string (for instance 3152 3030 3652 454 4531 420 4F54) for the pump of the ISCO can understand the command.

    The VI is attached.

  • "Decimal string to Number.vi" bug in LabVIEW 2009 SP1

The "decimal string to Number.vi' seems to be the conversion of the input data in the type int32 internally even when the input tape in vi data is expanded floating point (no points of constraint).  This is causing me grief.  See attached vi

This bug is still present in LabVIEW 2010?

    Thank you

    Richard Ballantyne

There is no bug. You use the wrong function (see Help) If you want a floating point output. Use Fract/Exp string to a number.

  • The decimal string to number Conversion, cutting necessary zeros

I'm new to the forum, but have been using labview for awhile. Finally found something that really puzzled me, hope I can find someone who is smarter than me! It may be something obvious too, but here goes. The attached vi is the cause of the error. I have a serial number I need to convert a decimal string into a number, I use later the number of "math" so he need as a number. The system always receives a serial number of 6 characters (ie. 123456), but today the system has received a serial number with two leading figures of the scale (ie. 003456) zeros. This compensation of all the bells of alarm stream (sent 4 digits), but the error found that started the 'intelligence' at the beginning of the monitoring program. I would like to know if there is a way to force the zeros in the decimal number in string to not shave off the coast of the 6-digit value above.

File is located in LabVIEW 2014

    Ideas or comments, thank you!

The problem is not the string functions.  This is the display format for your digital indicator.  Change the properties on that.

Hi, I have two decimal strings, each of them contains the numbers change over time. I want to plot them on the graph XY, a string for each axis. Can you show me how do?

This is not a formula, but a constant simple schema of a table complex. Wire remains, then do a right click of the terminal of the initializer of the feedback node and select "create constant. That should do it.

  • String ASCII to decimal string and its sum

    Hi all

I am a beginner in Labview and this is my first post on the forum.

I get a package series "1200F" on a MCU COM port. These are all ASCII characters.

I want to convert all of these ASCII characters into decimal numbers and add their decimal values to get the sum. So I took the ASCII string in a table using "Array of strings of bytes" and then typecast this constant using type U8. I put this in a loop and collects the decimal value using the Array function build. So I "Add elements of an array" function to add these decimal values to get the sum.

The problem is that for the input string, I am able to get the sum of "1200" only. At the time wherever I type the last character ASCII F, the sum does not. I see that when the sum exceeds 255 it resets again from 0. I have attached the VI for reference.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Convert 32 to avoid the limitation 255 of U8.

  • String hexadecimal "Hex Ascii" string!

I'm having a mental block and wonder if anyone can help!

I'm a device reading series and return a hexadecimal string. I need to view this hexadecimal string to the operator within a context area (PDA). The Message box will obviously contain normal text with the annex at the bottom HEX code.

When I run the code for the pop up box shows the message readable for the user, but the returned HEX string appears in the appropriatte of ascii characters (because the pop-up displays a normal string).

My question is, how to make a hexadecimal string appear in an indicator to display normal, 'same' string as it appears in its Hex display indicator:

0x0A1C - hex display should appear as 0A1C in the channel display indicator.

    Thanks in advance

  • normal string to hex string

    Hi all

This question has probably been asked before, but I can't seem to find a situation that quite matches the issue I am experiencing. I have a table that I flattened as a string of data, reverse order, take the first two elements, reverse the new order and feed the characters in a loop for. I want the string to hexadecimal, thus having FE0C (in hexadecimal) through the loop for, but when I select the execution I see that normal display characters cross instead. When I view my channel, I already have a right-click to display the hex that is correct. How to convert the normal string to a hexadecimal string?

    Thank you

    J

You can use Type Cast to change into a U16 (since it is supposed to be 2 bytes) or the Unflatten of the chain.

  • decimal string

    Hello

Do you know if there is another function, similar to the image below, which does not convert the float value?

The function you are looking for is "'number fractional string ' as already suggested."

Is the one you use for integers, it's why 2.7 is converted to 3.

    Kind regards

  • Specific string matching (Hex 2E2E)

I have a file that I have to deal with, a beautiful simple function to create.

Read file, find the part of the file with the string of some data in it, create the output of data in expanded format table and save the spreadsheet file (for example csv will do)

This is the problem, the data is in the format:

    PS1 #PS0 #, #PS3 #c3... 31, c34 #... 126

(I can remove the # and no probs.) The bit that kills me, is that I need to extend the range of c3 to c31. We'll never find a match pattern '.. 'because'. ' is a special character in match pattern and matching of regular expressions - thank you NOR.)

I can kind to locate using the string split function, but it does not I want very efficient, if someone at - there ideas for a better way around this problem?

    See you soon

    James

    Hi James,

    Try this:

  • create a string ASCII of BCC

I've been working on trying to fix a small detail in a communication routine, I write for speaking to a Hitachi L300P motor controller. My problem is that the commands are sent in blocks with a command STX to indicate the beginning, a node to indicate which of the RS485 devices is called, control, data, a sum of check blocks (BCC) and a carriage return. My problem is the generator BCC I wrote, which proved to be very similar to this example, returns the BCC # as a single hexadecimal digit, but the instrument apparently wants the number broken down into ASCII characters that she, or Bcc from 05, would represent Protocol wants to apparently "30-35", ASCII '0' '5 '.

My befuddled brain fatigue think I had a simple way to do it, but remember me (I was working on it until about 0230 this morning).

The example from the manual of the controller is:

    in ASCII

    (STX) 01 00 1 (BCC) [CR]---> 02 30 31 30 30 31 33 30 0D where the ICC would have returned '30' and their protocol sends 33 30 which are ASCII "3" and "0".

    As always, thanks in advance

  • Decimal display problem number ASCII

Having a weird problem with a pilot Plug-and-Play for the Keysight/Agilent/HP 8510 C.    There is a driver of VI (joint) called «Output Active Marker.vi»

The problem I have with this VI is that it works great my marker value between 9.9999 and - 9.9999.

When marker value will between 99.999-to-10,000-10,000 - 99,999... VI does not move the decimal place on the DBL indicator.   For example: a reading of marker-15.347 display - 1.534

Also, when a reading greater than 100 or less than-100 is dicplayed, it has the same problem with the decimal point.       Example:-104.56 bed - 1.04

I have shot-up the word Agilent Key dictionary for this function (located here: http://www.keysight.com/upload/cmc_upload/All/08510-90280_8510KeyWords.pdf ) and it says that the output is an ASCII string, a undetermined DBL. (page 515 & 516)

I tried to take the VISA Read and Write functions and output directly to the chain of output... reading but it has the same problem.

"" So it seems that this function of reading VISA plays nice with the C. 8510 .oes someone has an idea of the way of "difficulty" it?

Thanks for your help guys.    All I had to do was remove the bytes read-write thread, then the thread count to a constant 49 at the input to the function Read byte.   Works perfectly with no other required conversions.

Anyone know who is the author of this Plug-and-Play driver?   This feature should probably be updated with these changes.

  • convert integers in equivalent characters in string - character of ASCII code

I got out of my data and information of the associated string to an array of strings, and then to a spreadsheet file.

I want to do this by converting an identical string of characters (integers and other numbers).

I tried Type font with a constant string as the input of type but it DOES NOT WORK.  Instead, I get the ASCII character whose numeric designation corresponds to the integer, for example integer '50' become 'P' capital.

    I want all over '50' string '50 '.

Please advise, and no, I don't want to make the berries of the clusters.

I found my answer, but only after the search for 'Number' rather than 'Integer' conversion conversions.

In the range of programming - number of string - string/number of Conversion - decimal string functions:

'Converts number to a string of decimal digits less than width characters wide or more if necessary. If the number is floating point, it is rounded up to a 64-bit integer before the conversion. »

  • Conversion number to a hex string

    Hello

I want to send a command string hex to a device via the serial port. The chain includes a fixed part (address, function, register) and editable part (setpoint). The fixed part is a string constant hexa (0106 0022) the editable part is a number (1000) converted to string hex (03E8). Finally, the two are coding pour get the final string. The problem is that instead get: 0106 0022 03E8, I get: 0106 0022 3033 4538.

After concatenates two strings, it seems that the second part is turned into ASCI.

    I can't find the solution!

    Thanks for your help.

Sorry, I saved the vi in a different version.
