Decommissioning for win 7 on a desire h8-1414

Hi, I was hoping that someone knows if I can run windows 7 on a desire h8-1414.  It came with windows 8 preinstalled.  If yes how can I do to do a clean install. Thank you.

Hello

Look at debut8 to add the appearance of Windows 7 before making the jump to downgrade.  A free trial version is available, and the product is only $5 If you decide to keep it.

Don't forget to make a series of HP recovery disks before doing anything. You can use a disk imaging product hard commerical which takes fully supported Windows 8 for the image of the entire hard drive to external storage.

Be aware that some of the functions of the menu (ESC at startup) startup will no longer work.   This a good reason for not not downgrade to Windows 7.

You will need a license of Windows 7 at retail and media.

Try Windows 7 for HP HPE h8-1330z drivers as this model uses the same motherboard.

Boot into the bios and look for the Secure Boot Configuration selection as part of security. If secure startup is enabled then delete the keys to secure boot and disable secure boot.  You also need to enable legacy Support  and disable the quick start. See the image below.  Here are the settings used for Windows 7.

When you install Windows 7, do a custom install and format the entire hard drive.

Although it is possible to install Windows 7 in UEFI mode, I have yet to find a reliable procedure to make it work on my HP laptop so for now sticking to Legacy mode.

The keys secure start of compensation can be a problem if you want to reinstall W8 using the HP recovery discs.

  • questions about the decommissioning of win 8 for Win 7

I plan to install Win 7 Pro on my Win 8.1 on my desktop computer. My computer came preloaded with Win 8 and then I upgraded to win 8.1 by using Windows Update in Control Panel. So I have the computer manufacturers 64 bit Win 8 Support disc that came with the computer, but no Win 8.1 disk. I also have my old drive for Win 7 64-bit. My main concerns regard the problems potential decommissioning and also possible future problems if I decide to come back to Win 8 (regardless of the version then in force).

    I have two questions:

    (a) there will be problems if I decide in the future to upgrade Windows 7 Pro to whatever the current version to win 8 given that I only have my Win 8 of the manufacturer of the computer drive?

    (b) in addition to needing all the drivers for Win 7, are there other problems by going win 8 for Win 7?

If you want to downgrade to Windows 7.

You will first need to go to the website of manufacturers for your model computer and first find out if there are native drivers in Windows 7. A large number of computers that are preloaded with Windows 8 have no native driver support for Windows 7 by the manufacturer.

If there are native drivers for Windows 7, there should be a problem.

Prior to decommissioning, I highly recommend facility backup the Windows 8.1 currently on the disk, so if you decide to go back to Windows 8, you can simply save your data in Windows 7 and restore the image of Windows 8.1. Learn how to:

I've recently upgraded to win victory 10 8, I am not satisfied one or the other. I bought Win 7 Professional SP1 64 bit generator system "OEM" the other day. I would like to erase the hard drive and install Win 7 pro.

I don't know if it's easier to re - install win 8 on one partition and win 7 on another. I have the factory restore disks for win 8, which came with this pc. Have never created two partitions, I'm sure I could handle it, but I have now that I won't have the drivers for win 7 on this computer.

I think I can do this with good help and I ask for this help PLEASE.

I'll keep my fingers crossed and go from there. I'll look around for other similar situations. As I sit here and ponder this object I'll probably imagined more questions to ask. But meanwhile your top shelf and we will no doubt talk again.

  • Satellite M100-180: where can I find drivers for Win 2003 Server?

We bought a Microsoft Windows 2003 server. I have install then on our laptop Toshiba Satellite M100-180 PSMA1E-02Q00WRU.

With the laptop, I found Windows XP CD and Express media player recovery CD Reanimator. No disc drivers there. May be dealer lost drivers disk? If that - where can I get new CD of drivers (I am from Russia, Smolensk)

I try to download the drivers from the web (toshiba.com.ru), but they are very large (I have a dial-up internet). Then I download driver modem (4M). Installation of the works, but no modem appear after that. And no serial port too.

I plug the USB-serial converter and install Standart Modem (USR external). Then I have to connect to the internet and try to download the drivers with windows update. No results...

    HEEEEEEELP ME! :)

PS Sorry for my English :)

    Hello

: D the dealer nothing lost! The pilot tools & utilities can be created in the Windows XP operating system that came with the laptop.
With the help of Toshiba, you will find a Protect & Fix tab and the option to create a driver disk ;)

Further, all the XP drivers are placed on the page of the Toshiba driver. But unfortunately, nothing for Win 2003 server.
Maybe test it works for XP drivers also on Server 2003

  • Satellite P300 PSPC4A - BIOS no updates required for Win 7?

    I have a Satellite P300 (PSPC4A-03P01P)
Currently 2 hard drives, both are partitioned.
    Disc 1 - C and D
    Disc 2 - F and G
Current operating system on the C drive is OEM Vista 32-bit HP
    BIOS version is V4.20. 05/01/09

I want to upgrade the Win - 7 HP 64-bit operating system
I know that this will require a format the C partition.

In preparation, I downloaded all the drivers for Win 7 64 bit

    My Questions:

The BIOS will require the update to support 64-bit?

If partitions D, F and G are left intact, Win-7 64-bit on the C drive will be able to read?
Or these partitions will also require formatting?

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

There is no relationship between the BIOS and the operating system. Thus, you need not upgrade Bios for Win 64 bit.

    > If partitions D, F and G are left intact, Win-7 64-bit on the C drive will be able to read?
    > Or those partitions will also require formatting?

You can install the Os on C: and it will be able to read information on other partitions too.

Your laptop is not model portable American and you must use drivers of European support page.
