Dedup Cache and 6.0

I was sure we were told on the forums beta 6.0 would move its dedup ram the disk cache (the beta forums are no longer available) I remember this because dedup cahce settings and ram usage are huge problems for our customers and sites

But it looks like 6.0 always use RAM, can anyone tell me why this was changed or was it only related to r3 rest?

Voltmeter digital dedupe cache will always be in the RAM memory (DVM is the current repository engine).  Backup copies are stored on the disk and updated every hour (by default), but it runs in RAM for faster access.

The repository of R3 (which was intended for the 6.0 release, but was delayed) will manage deduplication differently and will not store a cache of deduplication in RAM as DVM. At this point, it's all the information I have about R3.
