"Default User" in the Documents & settings

I don't know why is there a default user folder, or if something happens: so it can be deleted without compromising all the necessary data?

Hello

The My Documents folder is your own personal folder in which you store your documents, graphics, and other personal files. When there is more that one person using the computer, Windows creates a my documents of each user on the computer.

By default, the target or the actual location of the My Documents folder is C: \Documents and Settings\\Mes Documents, where C is the drive on which Windows is installed and is the currently logged-on user.

I wouldn't recommend allows you to delete the folder because it is created by Windows for each user on the computer.

  • How to configure the calendar to change default user of the connection?

There are 2 accounts: administrator and user.

I would like to know if it is possible to set the calendar to the different login user account based on this condition.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

It is not possible to schedule a task to connect to the user account. As you mentioned you need to do some maintenance tasks, you can create tasks to perform these maintenance tasks automatically.

When the above message has been received, the G: drive was not connected. Once it has been connected, archive.pst became available.
It seems that the Documents & Settings folder system has migrated to the external hard drive backup and is therefore no longer on the C: drive, or at least I can see it there.  Can I just drag and drop the folder Documents and Settings of the G: drive system into the c: (about 750MB)?

    Hello

Win 7 and Win 8, Documents and Settings is a folder hidden, locked, unlike XP.

Documents, videos, photos and etc are now included in the C:\Users\User name, and that's where your installed programs will send them.

You can change their default location, and your software usually sends to the new location because of the way it is redirected.

I don't think anything has moved physically now that I re-read your post.

You say the keyword but... it has been imported into the new perspective.

When a program is something important, is usually not a physical copy of the file. It basically accesses its location of origin, as if the imported file is just a shortcut to the original.

Your Outlook was simply looking for the file to its actual location through the 'shortcut '.

Most all programs have an OPTIONS, PREFERENCES, or SETTINGS button somewhere.

Search through the links at the top of File, Edit, help, etc. It should be in one of these if ut doesn't have its own icon... a gear, for example.

  • Document pages block for another user has the file open

    Hello

    I'm using Pages 5.6.2

In our society, we begin using pages for the edition of our records. We use a shared network of synology to quickly access our files. It's a DS-209 + II.

Now, we had several issues where a user still had a file open and open another file.

My question: is it possible to have pages or finder or what ever tells me that the file is open by another user?

I think something like Microsoft Word has set up: "the document is locked for editing by another user.

Please let me know if there is a way to have this feature in place or to have a sort of work around.

    Thank you very much!

N ° not a feature of the Pages, or configurable one or the other. The work is to use Word only (a safer bet), or an edit shared management of the users of the document will be closing their documents Pages and exit Pages to release the locks on files - when they are done with the document.

  • Why can't I access My Documents & Settings folder?

I understand from reading some of the forum messages that Documents & Settings (as well as a few other folders) are now the junction points. However, according to the instructions of a program plug-ins for Photoshop, I bought, I have to install some files in a folder which should be in the Documents & Settings. Here, specifically:

    C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings
So since I can't enter D & S, where the devil to put these files now in order to get this program to work? I paid a little money for these plug-ins and I'll be so frustrated if I can't make them work.  How can I now in the Adobe folder which is D & S (which I can not enter) and Application data (which I can not enter in)?
    :( Help, please.

    A few ideas:

    1. find an Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings folder in a subfolder within C:\Users\\AppData .
    2. Vista having search for a folder named CameraRaw.
    3 contact Adobe support.

  • Question how to display the layer on a document level automatically-javascrip at the level of the document?

I have a form in which the user selects immediately their favorite in a drop-down list called color FavColor they have the choice between three colors: blue, yellow or green.  Based on the user's selection, custom layers (BlueLayer or YellowLayer or GreenLayer) are immediately displayed with additional specific questions for the user.  Right now I have the Javascript below in the area of validation of the box FavColor.  It works very well.  My problem occurs after the user saves the document and try to reopen it to print it.  The data is all there, but the relevant layer does not appear automatically (I have to re-enter their FavColor so he can run the script again).  Can someone help me find a solution for this? Is it possible to run a script when a document is opened to determine which layer should show?  Or do I have to create the user save the file differently so that the entry is "committed" to the document?  I'm still pretty new to javascript and programming these formulas so thank you in advance for your help!

  • I cannot get my printer to print to the edge of the page and can not find the right settings.

I am creating a spreads in InDesign A4 A5 booklet, what I've done now, but for some reason when I print it is not printing on the edges of the paper. It is short on the edge and runs along the long edge of about 3 mm 6 mm short. I don't think that the printer we have is full bleed, but I expect to get a little more narrow than at the edges. I looked at the document settings and reset all the options of bleed and Slug and I don't see anything to change in the settings local printers. Please someone any idea that I might be able to change?

    Thank you very much

The list of features of the printer touts unless expressly impression "edge to edge", it cannot print almost certainly one of the 4 edges. It is a mechanical limitation, and 3-6 mm is fairly typical.

    Why?

It is likely, there is nothing else to try. If you feed something that would or should print on the edges, if the printer is capable of that and got the 3 and 6 mm printable area margins, this is certainly the best it will do the printer.

  • Framework of travel when you open the document on another computer

When you create a 8.5 x 11 transparent (filled with "none") framework, applying 0.5 pt black STROKE and by setting its x and are coordinated 0, I select framework and get coordinated x 0, y 0, 8.5 in width and height to 11.  Then I save the document, close it and have another user (on another computer with exactly the same hardware/software configuration) to open it.  The coordinates of the image are now coordinated x to-0.0035 in, the y-0.0035 in, 8.5069 in the width and height to in 11,0069.  If I have this user close the document (without changing anything) and I reopen it on my computer, the measures are coordinated x = 0, y = 0, width = 8.5 in. and height = 11 in.  I searched all preferences but impossible to find out what causes that.  Any idea anyone?

Your friend has "dimensions include STROKE weight" selected and you do not, I think.

  • In XP Documents and Settings, are files under Admin, default user, all users, and duplicate files etc?

I see in Windows XP under Documents and Settings administrator, all users, default user and owner records. This is a duplication of files? I'm trying to clean up my hard drive and I would like to have just a structure, such as the owner or the administrator. Can I get rid of all the others and save a workspace of dick? How do I do that?

    * original title - more disk space? *

N ° don't get rid of one of these data structures, or later, you'll be sorry.

For everyday use, you should use the profile of 'owner '.  All your documents, music, images and other data must be different subdirectories to the title of owner.

The administrator is a built-in account for emergency use administrator privileges (for example, if your daily profile becomes corrupted).  Probably, you don't see administrator on the Welcome screen.

Every user is an account that is used to share data between different users.  If there is only a single user defined on your computer, there should be very little in every user account in the "My Documents" of this profile part, but some applications that you have installed may have placed hidden files in different folders in the profile all users.

Default user is a model that is used to create new user profiles.

If you are interested in which is placed on your hard drive, download and run JDiskReport.

If you fear that you progress low hard drive space, there are a few things you can do, but all of them are essentially temporary measures.  If you're really under out of space on your hard drive, you can buy a bigger hard drive.

Run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr.exe > OK)
    Adjust system restore space
    Disable the Indexing Service
Uninstall the applications that you use is no longer
