define 4461 common mode dc offset

Hi all

Anyone know if it is possible to programmatically set a common mode DC offset to the differential output of a 4461 or what should I do with the external components? Please note that this is a different condition to define the differential DC level, which I know you can do.

Thank you

Nick

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the question. Currently, we do not allow the user to directly set the offset of common mode of production. Bonus mode, both positive (BNC Center) output and negative

(Shell BNC) outputs have 2.4 KOhms to land (it is not isolated from the Earth). For this reason, in all cases essentially, regardless of the components you will introduce to the common mode

offset of the output will also present an error of differential gain as well. In addition, due to the lack of insulation, there a limit to how much common-mode offset can be driven out of the ground.

It also depend on the size of your output signal. When you approach the limit, there will be a significant increase in distortion that will run at full power eventually.

I hope this helps answer your question.

  • How to limit the voltage common mode for the switch

The user manual mentions a maximum of ±12V ground for my switch (pxi-2536) but I do not see an entry in the field on the pinout of the connector. If I have a floating supply, should I connect the ground to the chassis on the ground on the back of the PXI? Is there a better way to limit the common mode voltage?

Thank you specify, it makes much more sense!  The best way to go about this that seems will be grounded to the negative terminal of your power supply to ground the chassis security, as I think you suggested at the beginning.  I don't know what frame you have, but you should be able to find a "Reason for connection security" section in the manual. For example, here are the 1044 chassis manual, with the present article is on page 2-4. http://www.NI.com/PDF/manuals/371360a.PDF

  • 9214 OR problem with a common mode error

    Hey,.

I take readings using thermocouples type k using the NI 9214 module in a cRio.  System works very well at room temperature, but once I take the surroundings up to 300 ° C thermocouple, I get the error message: "a common mode error has been detected."

I use the NI 9214 mode high resolution, with disabled OTD.  I went through the documentation on the error, but it is light on the proposed solutions.  I wonder if anyone else has seen this, and if so, how you solved it.

    Thank you!

    Hey GiantDeathRobot,

Thanks for the reply! It was very useful.

Let me start with additional information about my setup.  I use a k type thermocouple in a vacuum chamber to measure stuff inside.  I have the NOR-9214 in a just plug cRIO of data of the current temperatures.  Thermocouples are unshieleded in the room, but are exposed to the end inside the room.

Your comment to the ground made me think that there might be a problem of noise EFM.  So I solved my problem in a weird Garland.  I had the commune for the NI 9214 connected to the nut of the common leg of the connector.  I added a ground cable from the power strip that I use to power all of the components of the House (including the cRIO) cRIO chassis.  This completely clears my noise problem.  I thought I'd follow upward, in case anybody out there is struggling with this as well.

  • Clarification and Confirmation on the practical Implications of common Mode on differential measures voltage

    Hello people,

I've read several documents on the site OR about the premium over common measures of mode and I think I understand, but I'm looking for confirmation through two examples (please).

Both examples assume a data acquisition card OR with +/-10V inputs and a maximum operating voltage of + / 11V (e.g. PCI-6052 with programmable gain 0.5).

Example 1: Suppose a DC voltage with two resistors divider and a differential input on the daq card configuration.  First resistance = 4 Ohms connected to 100VDC, second resistance = 96 - grounded (0) Ohms.  This results in a decline of 4VDC to the terminals of the first resistance.  However, I believe that the differential voltage of 4VDC may be connected directly to the daq card because the absolute voltage (i.e. common mode?) is in fact 96VDC to 100VDC which is outside the "working range' of + / 11V for the card.  This conclusion is correct?

Example 2: Suppose a differential measure between two AC signals and a differential input on the daq card configuration.  First report = 25v@0deg, second signal = 10v@180deg.  Some documents on the Web site of NOR, I gathered that the common mode voltage is the average of the vector representation of the input signals.  In this case, it would be (25v@0deg + 10v@180deg) / 2 = 7.5v@0deg.  I think that this signal can be directly connected to the daq card because one of the signals (25v@0deg) is outside the range of the card work (even if the result "means vectors" is within the scope of the map daq.  This conclusion is correct?

Thanks in advance for any help,

    chassan

    Chassan,

You're right both of your examples. Is the best way to look at that is that even if you take a measure differential the maximum voltage you can submit a single channel to the + / 11V to the 6052E. Hope this clears things up a little bit.

  • 'TV most common mode' which is used by film festivals?

    Hello, from below, is there a standard for this?  4 x 3?  16 x 9?  All my images were shot in 16 x 9...

    Thank you

    Matt

    Screen shot 2011-04-16 at 4.07.29 PM.png

    Matt,

I would guess that Widescreen took over the standard, but that is only a guess. Each festival will probably be a sheet of standard, and I ask that, for each, in which I had an interest.

Now, the key is to shoot what is the most common and edit it directly. Then, if there are others, with different needs, maybe a plan on how you want to manage the other images - Letterbox, pillarbox, Pan & Scan, etc.

At some point in the future, Standard and widescreen will be moot, as well as BY. Until then, there's always a can of "scary to ' out there.

Good luck with the festivals and please let us know the percentages of each format.

    Hey nick,

recently, the ability to sign our applications and make them full production was made possible. This is probably what you have to do now. the thread below must be able to guide through the steps. However, you will need to request keys here:

    https://www.BlackBerry.com/SignedKeys/

and here's a thread that tells you how to save your keys and sign your application:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Tablet-OS-SDK-for-Adobe-Air/howto-sign-your-applications-from...

There are also several other threads to help you along the way. one thing I must point out, is that you cannot use your Flash Builder application to pack your apps. You must use the command line. There is a bug in flash builder which prevents the true packaging and signing. Good luck!

  • Concise description of the isolation modes

I find the documentation ThinApp on patterns of isolation is a bit confusing and seems a bit incomplete. I wanted to confirm my understanding of the modes of insulation and some gaps in my understanding that relate to packages, the registry and folders of files.

Scope: Am I right that all isolation modes (Full, merged and WriteCopy) can all be used in all these places, and if not, that can be used where?

Package.ini - to set the defaults, when not specified in the folder or registry key.

K_KEY.txt files *-for each registry key. Keys not specified by default? isolation, it by default for the parameter in package.ini?

#Attributes.ini files - for each folder in the sandbox - return to the settings of the parent directory by default if not specified. Package.ini parameters by default if not specified for the top-level folder?

Use: Can you please confirm my understanding of each of the modes of isolation, and they are applied equally to the registry and folders?

Full: read and write in the sandbox, do not access resources outside of the virtual bubble for this element.

WriteCopy: attempt to bed to sandbox, but fallback to the host if a machine key or folder does not exist. All entries go to the sandbox only.

Fusion: read from the sandbox if an entry is available, but the downturn on the host if a key or folder does not exist. No idea on the logic of reschedule.

    Hi JohnFx,

ThinApp virtualization can ensure spacing of host file system and registry application data virtualized using files of sandbox.

The isolation mode setting controls the degree and the behavior of the separation. Using the bad isolation mode can cause the application or changes made to the file to not be visible to other applications on the host computer.

    Merged

    • Elements of the system at this location are visible to the application. If a part of the system and virtual elements exist in the same place, the application sees the virtual element.

    • Changes to virtual items go to the sandbox.

    • Amendments to the elements of the system go into the system.

    • New items are created on the system.

    WriteCopy

    • Elements of the system at this location are visible to the application. If a part of the system and virtual elements exist in the same place, the application sees the virtual element.

    • Changes to virtual items go to the sandbox.

    • Amendments to the elements of the system go to the sandbox.

    • New items are created in the sandbox.

    Full

    • Elements of the system at this location are not visible to the application.

    • Changes to virtual items go to the sandbox.

    • Elements of the system cannot be read or modified.

    • New items are created in the sandbox.

    • To change the mode of insulation for a specific folder, edit the file #Attibutes.ini in your package to set the mode for this folder, otherwise that the package.ini parameter is used by default for all objects in the package. Edit the HKEY_XXXXXX.txt file to change the isolation mode for a branch of the registry. More details on these files are available in the VMware ThinApp user manual, version 4.0.1.

Note: ThinApp implements cache modes of isolation during execution to the location of the sandbox. If the isolation mode is changed for your project and the executable file is rebuilt, it may be necessary to remove the tray to sand so that the changes take effect.

DirectoryIsolationMode - defines the isolation mode: merger, WriteCopy or full.

ThinApp implements cache modes of insulation for the registry and the file system when running in the sandbox sand. If you modify the isolation for the project mode and regenerate the executable file, you may need to remove the tray to sand to make the change take effect.

Changing the settings in the file #Attributes.ini

The file #Attributes.ini applies the settings at the directory level while the Package.ini file applies the settings at the level of the overall application.

For example, you can set the isolation mode in the directory, or the application level to determine what files and registry keys are visible and written by the virtual application that you create. The granular setting in the file #Attributes.ini overrides the global setting of Package.ini. The Package.ini determines the isolation mode when ThinApp does not information #Attributes.ini.

If you need to compress some files only with large files, rather than a complete application, you can compress the files to the folder with the CompressionType parameter level in the file #Attributes.ini.

The file #Attributes.ini appears in most of the captured application folders. For example, the Attributes.ini file may be located in C:\Program VMware ThinApp\Captures\Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.3\%AppData%\##Attributes.ini. Use Notepad or another text editor to update the file.

    Edit the file #Attributes.ini

Use Notepad or another text editor to update the file #Attributes.ini.

    To change the file #Attributes.ini

    1. in the #Attibutes.ini #, uncomment, update or delete the parameter.

    2. double-click on the file build.bat in the application folder captured to rebuild the application package.

    3. double-click on the file build.bat in the application folder captured to rebuild the application package.

  • 5900 diff amp clipping to 11V

I tried to measure an IEPE sensor (Simulator) released in parallel to the amplifier signal conditioner. Looking for a scope, I got on with a nice 2Vpp sine 12V bias.

    If I place a PXI 5922 with a PXI-5900 differential preamplifier for 40Vpp inputrange.

I need to measure in DC mode. The output of the 5900 is clipping in connection 11V.  (CH + to report, CH-shortcut to GND). I tried a 5900...  all the same

Another point: the reading input range gives me 160V... Oops bug?

    OR-Scope 3.8.2 LV2011

Another question: what is the output impedance of the 5900? 50 ohms?  It is not indicated in the specifications.

Well, I think I found the solution for the clipping.

And there's nothing wrong with the specification of the 5900, however, the definition of the commune of voltage range was missleading me.

While the definition of "municipality" of the common voltage in a differential measurement is Vcm =(Vpos+Vneg)/2 "Common Voltage Range" is not the possible range of common blood, instead of the definition (by NEITHER?) I found here from the States:

"The range of common mode voltage is defined as the oscillation of the admissible maximum voltage on each entry from the ground of the measuring system. Violating this constraint translates not only error measurement, but also of the possible damage to the components on the Board. »

Something that should find its way into the specs of the understanding device and Specifications of Acquisition of data - a glossary

So I can't measure a 12V GND signal with my 5900 input of the unit gain amp is probably capture one

You probably just set your screen resolution to match your monitor.
Right-click on an empty area of your desktop and select 'Properties', then click on the 'Settings' tab at the top.
At the bottom left there is a box of "Screen Resolution."  Drag the marker to change the screen resolution to a setting that matches your monitor...  You determine this by the ratio of the width to the height.  Some common resolutions to the dimensions of the screen are the following:

    4:3 = 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 960, 1600 x 1200
    5:4 = 1200 x 1024
    8:5 = 1440 x 900, 1680 x 1050
    16:9 = 1280 x 720, 1776 x 1000, 1920 x 1080 (widescreen)

After you change this setting and click on 'OK', the screen will become to this resolution.  It will give you a few seconds to confirm that the monitor can display this resolution. If you see the screen, click on 'OK '.  If your screen is empty, don't panic but just wait 30 seconds approximately and your screen will return.

  • Suddenly absent compilation albums

For some unexplained reason, all my compilation albums are suddenly missing in my opinion main albums. In addition, all the songs of these compilations are not viewable in the main display of albums.

You can only see the clicking on artists-> Compilations.

    Why.

    Explain.

iTunes 12.4 has changed how compilations are managed and has at least one bug:

    • When the flag of "the Album is a compilation...". "is defined and the value of the artist of the Album is empty, these albums are listed at the end of any view album sorting by artist, under a separate"Compilations"section
    • However, albums that match this pattern will disappear from the view Albums sorted by something other than artist - we must assume that it is certainly a bug
    • iTunes grouping/sorting algorithm now seems to be to assess the values of the pieces of a compilation album of the artist :
      • an album that isn't really a compilation (i.e., all the tracks are attributed to the same artist) will be sorted by artist name in the flag of "the Album is a compilation...". "is defined
      • the same is true for the albums where most of the tracks is attributed to an artist
    • There seems to be some variations in the results when the indicator "the Album is a compilation...". "is defined and a value is entered in the Album artist field

    Possible remedies:

    • roll back to 12.3.3
    • wait for the next update will fix (hopefully) bug 12.4
    • change your library such as the compilations are grouped together by defining a common value of the artist of the Album (for example, "Various Artists") and by disabling the flag "Album is a compilation...". "(although this will not work for users of the iPod Classic and other models more older iPod that do not support label of the Album artist ).
