Defining a router and 2 switches in a network

Hello!

I have a question, please reply as soon as possbile.

Look, I'm new in routing, just lerning, CCNA Discovery course, there is the problem:

well, I'll put in place a ROUTER and 2 switches, I have set up in terminal:
the end result, we have:
ETH 0/0 (from where internet is coming) - IP - 192.168.100.200
ETH 0/1 (inside the network) - IP - 192.168.80.1

Also, I configured the same way ARP:
Slash rip router (config) #.
slash network (config - router) # 192.168.100.0 / / IF I understand ARP allows data transffer beetween networks and make it visible on the other

slash network (config - router) # 192.168.80.0

now, if the two devices end network (PC), I ping the ping works and the package was sent and received.
!!!! THE PROBLEM IS > why I can't ping (PC0) 192.168.100.201 the 192.168.80.2 (PC1)
the INVESTIGATION period was made.

There are in tie my tracert schema package. Thx for the reply and attention!

you have the default gateway configured on the two PCs?

  • Cisco linksys router and cannot access the wireless network

    We have cisco linksys wireless router.  When we installed everything first, we could connect our wireless laptops to the network.  Now, however, the network is detected, but there is no access to the internet.  We have even a guy from ATT were out and he said that the wireless router has been installed backwards?  He installed a dsl fast access on our laptop icon, and now we can access the wireless network but only if we connect as the first.  We can also connect iPod to the wireless network.  They detect the network, but when we enter the password cannot connect.

    Hi JC_3094,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community and thanks for posting the question.

    According to the description, it looks like you aren't able to access the Internet.

    The likely causes of this problem is if the router is not configured properly.

    Here are some steps that should help you to solve this problem.

    Method 1:

    Check if the router is configured properly to get access to the Internet.

    Method 2:

    Try the steps mentioned in this link and check:

  • Routing between a router and a switch L3

    Hi I have a question where I have two sites we try to connect through an ethernet port. In site 2, I use the port of gig0/0 on router 1941 and configured the port as such:

    interface gig0/0

    IP 192.168.18.2 255.255.255.252

    IP route 10.0.4.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.18.1

    site 2, I use a switch 3750 because I have no port available on their router together and is configured as such:

    interface FastEthernet4/0/1

    No switchport

    IP 192.168.18.1 255.255.255.252

    IP route 172.20.0.0 255.255.0.0 192.168.18.2

    Although the two ports appear as more and I can ping their interfaces locally, I can not ping interfaces aside until now neither their networks.

    I tried changed the front door of the local interface, but that does not work either.

    The carrier claims that I must have on one vlan and suggested this config on site 1:

    Interface gig0/0,955

    encapsulation dot1q 955

    IP 192.168.18.2 address 255.255.252

    And there is the problem.  I can not configure a subinterface on the L3 switch and cannot add the vlan as they recommend.

    Any suggestions from anyone on how to connect the two sites?

    Thank you

    Pete

    The real port must be configured as a trunk because of the end of the router. If so -.

    (1) create a vlan 995

    (2) configure the port as trunk but don't allow that vlan 995 on it

    (3) create IVR and IP migration

    Post your DHCP configuration.

  • How is the best way to connect the configuration of my router and switch?

    I have a cable modem. connect to a switch, I have 2 computers connected to the switch. I also just connected my router wireless switch. That's the best configuration or I lose my firewall of the router in passing is not by ports directly above?

    Most of the cable modems will give an IP address, so connect a switch to the modem and then connection of two computers and a router to the switch will usually result in one of these three devices, get an IP address (and internet connection), while the other two will not be.  (Notice that I guess a true "Modem" and not a "Modem/Router" device).  The correct configuration would be to connect your router to the modem (router gets the unique IP address).  The router can then process from the addresses IP what either side LAN of the router, then plug the devices you need (including switch) to the router's LAN ports.  This also ensures that all devices will be on the same subnet that your connection scheme to separate devices on the router wireless from the other two devices on the switch (here, assuming that you have a router/Modem device).

  • Need router and switches for simple network tips...

    I have to get a new router and switch to an office with 9 computers, 1 printer, and a server.  They are all Mac computers. Two Mac computers are running Windows XP through Parrallels (not sure if it matters).  All computers have just need access to the Internet (through the router), access to the printer and 5 of them on the server.  A few more important details: the router will be located about a quarter of a mile away (where we could get a broadband Internet access) but will have a fiber optic cable running to the office, where will be the selector. In the building off site where the router, we would like to have a backup disk to send important files at the end of each day (or set up to do this automatically later).  The optical fiber has capacity of the card.  We want that the router must be connected only (wireless).  Any suggestion that router and switch combo would be enough?  Thank you!

    You can use a RVS4400 router that has a gigabit capacity with 4 ports, connected to the gigabit switch.

  • NAT router 1841 and 3550 switch help

    Hi experts, I need some help with setting up a network.  Network diagram is attached.

    I created 3 VLANs on the 3550 Switch and activated InterVLAN Routing.  I can't do a ping from one VLAN to another.  I've added static routes to networks VLAN on the router.  Is the only part I'm not sure where and how configure NAT?  For example, if it was just a standalone router Cisco 1841 I would just create list of access and NAT FA 0/0 outside and FA 0/1 on the inside.  It would be great if someone can give me an example or point me to the right direction.

    Router ISP--> Cisco 1841--> Switch Cisco 3550

    Cisco 1841 router:

    FA 0 / 0--> WAN Interface

    IP address: 30.20.10.2

    FA0 / 1 Interface LAN connected to the 3550 switch-->

    IP address: 10.0.0.1/24

    Cisco 3550 switch:

    FA 0 / 24--> to connect to the Cisco 1841 router

    IP address--> 10.0.0.2/24

    FA 0/1 - 0 / 10--> VLAN 1

    FA 0/11 - 0 / 20--> VLAN 2

    FA 21/0 - 0 / 23--> VLAN3

    Thank you

    Hello, it's the same thing, but in your access list, you need allow all of your internal address ranges. On your router and 3550 make sure routing everything is OK, you say you have connectivity.

    This means that your network 10 should be able to get to your 192 networks and vice versa.

    On your 3550, you can have a default route to the router. And your router should have roads to 192 networks via the address 10 of the 3550.

    Then the NAT configuration

    Int fa0/1
    IP NAT inside

    Int fa0/0
    NAT outside IP

    IP access-list standard MYNAT
    Permit 10.0.0.0 0.0.0.255
    Permit 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255
    Permit 192.168.2.0 0.0.0.255
    Permit 192.168.3.0 0.0.0.255

    And then in your NAT statement

    IP NAT inside source list MYNAT interface fa0/0 overload

    Hope this helps

    Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.

  • Connect 6224 VLAN routing and management VLAN

    Happy holidays all the world-

    I read several posts here and elsewhere on the inability of the 6224 to deliver its own management interface. OK, enough, I get it. But what I don't understand is a practical solution to what seems to be a huge problem if you want to use the network to connect to the device to manage (instead of the serial console port).

    Let's say I want to have three networks A, B, and C on the 6224 and configure it to route between any combination of them. Let's call them VLANS 1, 2, and 3. Three ethernet cables will connect to three ports on the 6224. for the network A, b and C. Let's just ignore shifts and redundant connections to do this.

    The management VLAN can not be assigned to one of these networks, right? He said in the documentation, and it turns out if you try to do it on the configuration of the switch. It doesn't let you do.

    So, how do you reach the 6224 for management? Create a fourth network, VLAN 4? This seems to be the general theme of the answers to questions like that, but how do you reach this seemingly isolated network? By definition, it cannot be routed. Any computer that you normally use on A, B or C, can not reach D.

    So what then? A dedicated computer for D who cannot reach the other thing than the switch management port? What about another completely separate router (I have a Cisco ASA with some ports to spare, or a hint of irony, an another 6224!) to provide a connection between D and a networks normally used? This is crazy.

    Of course, missing me something here. I can't believe that the answer is, 'If you enable routing, the management interface is essentially unusable"but that's what it looks like, from my possibly twisted point of view. I want to have my laptop computer and any other computer, sitting on a network that can be put to rout by the 6224, and for that same laptop also be able to reach this same 6224 management interface.

    Someone please help me understand this?

    Thank you

    Chris

    PS: I have an email address. It is almost unique on the entire planet. I use it to connect to this forum. But Dell, like so many others, insists on ignoring these facts and let me create an another unique identifier while playing a game of 20 questions. That's why my remarkably stupid random username.

    Thanks again, and I hope that someone gets at least a good laugh over this.

    Vlan management can be considered as a port OOB. If the intention is that it be separated from the rest of the traffic and on its own dedicated network. However, you are not limited to manage the switch through just the interface vlan management. Each VLAN with an IP address can be used by customers in this vlan to manage the switch.

    For example, if you assign a VLAN 2 address and ip 192.168.2.1. Customers in VLAN 2 with and the 192.168.2.x subnet ip address can access 192.168.2.1 to manage the switch, while being able to communicate with clients in other VLANs.

    I hope this helps some, let me know if you need help on your config, or to specify anything.

    Thank you

    Hello, Benjamin.

    I guess that your router does NAT same for site traffic to site.

    So, you have to deny traffic between ACL 100 sites.

    PS: If this does not resolve your problem, could you please share isakmp/ipsec its on both sides?

  • Why my xbox getting kicked out of router and sometimes subsistence have limited connectivity

    I have an Xbox 360 that works on all other routers very well so I know very well that this is not my wireless card. When sharing the internet threw a computer to the same router there is no problem. the computer uses a wireless card. so I do not understand why the computer share internet with a xbox there is no problem with the router but the Xbox connection it itself using a wireless card (and the Xbox is still closer to the router to the computer) has horrible problems such as disconnection without reason. and sometimes the connection and all I can do is communicate with fried but nothing else. and this is a new router because the other was replaced because he was falling packages. This new router is now a RT-AC66R. It's actually pretty cool, I can walk like three blocks away and still have the wifi on my phone. My xbox is about ten feet away from him and the computer is about fifteen feet away. and now my new problem is that I can run is no longer an Ethernet cable to the computer to share internet. because the computer sees the xbox but xbox does not see the pc. or rather the xbox has failed the test of pc. and also, I can share is no longer my internet with another pc. I changed the map from one pc to the other wireless and connect the pc with the wireless card without problem. and this is supposed to have an incorrect ip address. and if you return it the problem are the same now that with the wireless card works, but cannot share internet with each other. and before there was no problem of internet sharing. but I could see the other pc also not one way or another. I solved this problem and now the PC can not only see each other they can copy cut and delete files on the other pc and the media. but it's when I can share is more of the internet with the xbox. and now the xbox can not see ether pc. and I thought that was the problem, so I disabled the sharing and then it still doesn't work. I have even made the system restore and that did nothing. I have been reading forums for two days now and no help no one has the same problem as me. a pc is Windows 7 Professional and the other is running Vista Edition family Basic. Please someone anyone help me im going nuts. I'm about to get a switch, so I don't have to keep switching the ethernet cord so I can have only two things in line at a time. I have also in the future will get a long enough cord to plug the switch directly to the router. but don't have the money to do it right now. I live in a motel and already got in trouble for my landlord to reset the old default router so I could do better for my system. then I told her that it was dropping packets. then he replaced. and set up a cage to stop me reset it. but all I have to do is with my finger tilt it upward and I access to the reset button. I have to pay for the internet service and am really frustrated because I tell him something is wrong, but he thinks that his fine because he bought a new router. But if my xbox is still having the same problem do you think it might be the cable from router to the modem Ethernet. but the new router does not drop to all packages and it works beautifully when he wants to. Sometimes it stops just to put a signal and it will stay like that for hours. even unplug for 30 seconds and in him plugging back in does nothing. or do you think it is because it has only a limited number of ip addresses available and put them to save to say ten days instead of one. because by resetting my wireless card and other peoples computers also reset the wireless card when they have problems connecting or it ask for a new ip address. that such use then upwards of all spaces allocated for the connection? I don't know it's just a theory of reading the forums if it's wrong to death someone please let me know. also, I asked another question about the before samething but DK if I explained myself well in the issue of ether, because I'm so tired that I have a bad typeing it drives me crazy I want to just reset the router by default so that I can access it Web page. so, if you can help me that would be awsome is the other post.

    I have a network administrator who do not want to enjoy internet that we pay to help please

    I have trouble getting my computer to share its internet connection with another computer and an xbox. I had their work and now the xxbox. I had their work and now the xbox can even see the computer and the other computer which is running vista and continues to indicate the ip address is incorrect. I live in a hotel and already had introuble for reset the router to the default password, so I can fix the parameters. but now he baught a new router and put a cage around him so he can not be reset to zero and the computer sharing wireless internet runs 7. and the xbox can sometimes connect to the router but keeps having started from, or sometimes it says that some live content xbox is not available. I know this isn't the xbox wireless card because it works on all other routers very well. and as I shared a connection with the computer vista very well before now, it won't work at all. can someone help me please?

  • NSX design with cisco UCS/fabric interconnects and Nexus switches

    Hi Experts

    I am new to NSX design and deployment and working on a project. We deploy NSX for applications of level 4 (web, app, db, DC). I use logic, DLR, ESG and DFW switches. I next we intend to use roads static confusion..

    1. do we cover all the VLAN from the virtual to the physical environment? for example mgmt VLAN, level vlans(web,app,db), vxlan transport vlan or it should be only a VLAN specific?  which means would be I have set all the VLANS in environment NSX in my physical switching environment?

    2 vds? don't we create not only 1 vds initially during the deployment of vcenter or more? Should we take any special consideration while deploying to the deployment of the NSX?

    3 static routes - we configure static routes on the DLR and the GSS? Should I use the default routes upstream? on the physical router should we be routing all subnets from virtual environment to the GSS.

    4. where and who should create virtual machines? Via vCenter or before the deployment of the nsx NSX?

    5. we have a level of domain controller. Should it be part of 3 or separate applications with allow any any rule on DFW?

    Thank you

    Sam

    (1) the VLANs which exist for physical Machines span the logical switch VXLAN NSX in the following cases:

    • If the current deployment there are physical Machines in the same Vlan and subnet IP with Virtual Machines. If this common Port Vlan group is migrated to a switch logic VXLAN Backed port group and not possible to change the IP addresses of the virtual machines, and then a bridge DLR (Distributed logical router) works as the conversion between Vlan physical and virtual VXLAN
    • If Conversion of P-to-V of the physical Machines continue on this Vlan

    VLAN which cover only the virtual machines or virtual local networks which cover only physical Machines must not be delayed.

    (2) for the deployment of the NSX, there may be more than 1 dVS or only 1 vDS according to the design. There may be another type of traffic other VXLAN base of virtual machines such as backup, storage, VMotion and the overall design, management, best practices apply here as well.  A requirement of the NSX is a common VDS that spans the entire Cluster. For each Cluster, this "common VDS' may be different. Yet once this VDS maybe a separate VDS dedicated VTEP or VTEP features functionality can be added to the existing VDS. It may be best to separate the VTEP vDS.

    (3) for the DLR, a default gateway is usually sufficient. If static routes are used, the GSS must then drive by default upstream and the static routes with the next hop of the DLR downstream for the subnets in the subnets IP VM logical switch. On the physical router static route to the VM, but also DLR - ESG logical subnets Subnet switch is required. Management of static routes is easier if route summarization is possible, or if necessary, close to the IP subnets, so it may be a good idea to use the dynamic routing such as Ospf or BGP protocol. There are also features of IP address management in Vrealize and other IPAM solutions if Automation is necessary for large and dynamic environments.

    (4) NSX has no functionality in the creation of the VM, it only creates Services network such as switches, routers, Firewalls, Load Balancing. The creation of the part VM continiues the same way as before. A point to note is maybe the logic is created appear as VXLAN named port groups on the VDS. NSX Manager creates groups of ports on the VDS, the only difference is that the name includes VXLAN. The virtual machine is like before added to this group of VXLAN Backed Port settings, or added to the logical switch from NSX Manager interface that appears again as a Plugin for VCenter. VCENTER is so point to create virtual machines and add these VMs to the logic is.

    (5) level of domain controller can be a separate layer, or other third party, may be preferable to upgrade separated except 3 applications. Usually, it's the same design without NSX. dFW rules can help protect the domain controller with allowing only ports of the virtual machine or physical Machines being admitted. dFW rules can apply to VXLAN based logical switches NSX so that VLAN based DVS Port groups because it's the kernel module.
