Defining an exact size in pixels for a rectangular selection area.

I need to set an exact size to my rectangular selection box. Is there a way to do this? I tried to use the tool of crop as an alternative method, but I find that I could not figure out how to set the culture to the exact size in pixels or how move the selection area cultures when it was placed above the image.

Thanks in advance...

Hello

What version of photoshop are you using?

Is to use the rectangular selection tool and set the Style to fixed size and then enter the numbers in the width and height fields.

Alternatively, you can move the selection area by dragging inside the selection if you have the option of the enclosed rectanagular tool set to new selection tool.

Then Image > crop if you want to crop the image.

  • tool how can I define culture fixed size in pixels of the cultures

    Hello

I use PhotoShop output CC 2015.0.0.  Quite often, I export a bitmap (bmp) from another application.  I then open in PhotoShop and trimming to get the size I want, in my current project is 1024 pixels wide by 350 pixels high.  I normally repeat this process several times.  Whenever I open a bitmap newly exported in PhotoShop, my area of culture begins with bigger that I want it, and I have to drag the edges to the size I want.  I wish that I could either to the exact size of type (1) of the area of the cultures I want in pixels or better yet (2) create a crop 'preset' box I can use over and over again with the pixel dimensions I want.

I was not able to understand how do either of these things.  In attempting to (1), I chose 'W x H x résolution' and entered my desired width and height, in pixels, but it has not changed my culture area.  In wanting to create a preset, I did manually drag the edges of the acreage for the size I want and then chose "New crop Preset" and he gives a name, but when I change the size of the crop manually, hoping that I can return to my desired culture zone by choosing my preset, it does not either.

If someone can tell me if/how I can do what I want, I would appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance,

    Paul

The pixels that disappears when zooming in will soon be corrected in the next update. The other option for something that size would create a form of rectangle to a fixed rate of size, when you get positioned TI ctrl - click on its thumbnail to create selection and harvest.

  • Just upgraded to CS3 to CC.  My file sizes when registering for the web (.png) are growing exponentially.  Why?

I have a small graphic in .psd I want to add a little more attention by adding a line to a part of the text.  After completing the editing and saving as a .png (normal for me), the file size has increased by a factor of ten.  I watched the recording settings and noticed that I had not checked compression.  Saved again, and it was still twice the size, 50 KB compared to the 27 KB.  I then returned to Photoshop CS3 and made the same exact changes, saved the file as a .png and it increased only by 3 KB.  I don't want my web graphics to develop there as much as it will slow down the experience especially on small devices.  What has changed?

Have you tried file > save for Web and define the metadata None?

I want to know the size of the ice segment that capture my digital photos. I know that the width and height of the cliff of ice in metres already, so I thought that I could convert the equivalent of 1 pixel:? m is really what I want to do. This way, whenever I see a block of ice, breakup, I can pull up the photo, describe the piece, calculate how many pixels to fill the area of ice removed by piece break and convert into zone meters 2 - giving me my order of size. If anyone has any ideas on how to do really, I would appreciate it thanks so much community. I thought Photoshop or Fireworks might help me with this, Ricky

Check out the view > Journal of measures.

If you have a selection and press 'Measure of recording', you should get the field among others.

Another possible approach would be to the histogram, but I doubt it would be very convenient.

  • Out an exact size canvas in PS CS5 for magazine ad?

    Hello

I started in PS CS5 by creating a canvas 4 x 7 "and started designing.  It does not seem good to me so I decided to print a draft of my partially finished and discovered that it's actually HUGE.  I need to go out an advertisement for a magazine that must be exactly 4 x 7 ".  How do we guarantee that the output size will be exactly as planned?

    Thank you

    Hi, auctioneer

This should be fairly simple, there is no that many variables.

Assuming that you want to print at 300 DPI - to simplify the calculations! -which would give you a screen size effective from 2100 high x 1200 pixels in width, assuming that the orientation is portrait.

This image would not fit on my screen, but it does not matter, then the impression, that would be precisely 4 "x 7".

Ignore the 'width' of my picture below, I have nothing that fits your exact size, but I hope that the indicated settings are pretty self explanatory.

    Good luck!

  • Size in pixels is disabled for the canvas settings

Hello. I'm not a total novice, web site design, but I'm pretty new to the specifics within Photoshop. I have recently downloaded a free trial of Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 and use it for a Web Skillcrush Designer course. I noticed that when I went to try the first project, the pixel sizing/scaling was turned off. I put my preferences to display units and leaders in pixels and went to create a canvas of 700px x 700px. However, even if my scale is set to 100%, size in pixels is certainly much smaller than it should be. I double and triple checked my settings, but I think that I can't do something good. I have redownloaded the program and it still does the same thing.

Here are some screenshots of my settings:

    screen-capture-4.png

    screen-capture-6.png

    screen-capture-9.png

This scale seems just totally turned off, but I see nothing else to do. I also tried to open a file of 700 x 700 and it displayed at this size as well.

Help, please! I would like to use Photoshop (and will need to complete this course), but am unable to go forward at this time. Thanks a lot for your time and help!

I know on my MBP retina an image at 200% on my screen, it's what others consider to be actual size.  I'm sure it's far from being a scientific comparison, but that generally seems to apply when I'm not working in PS.

    Yes, it's probably your problem: 304 ppi. Change to 300 ppi and 3.5 "x 2". It should work as 3.5 "x 2" translates in 1050 x 600 pixels

Edit: Wait, you try to get 3.5 "x 2" or 3 "x2.5"? " Anyway would a whole number of pixels in each direction I guess (at 300 dpi)

  • Read the size in pixels of the camera

    Hello

is it possible to read the size in pixels of a digital camera by programming with IMAQdx?

    Hi Thomas,

If the seller has exposed this information as an attribute via their XML file is the only way to see that by programming. I looked at a few aces Basler I, and none of them seemed to have this information. They have an attribute called PixelSize, but refers to the bits per pixel and not the physical size. I skimmed the GenICam Standard characteristic Naming Convention to see if there is a feature of GenICam standard for what you are looking for and have not seen one. Unfortunately, it seems that you will not be able to get this information programmatically.
