Definition of my HS SX50 to shoot in RAW

Having decided to try using RAW rather than JPG images, I turned to my user manual to set my Canon SX50 SH to shoot in RAW. According to the instructions from the manual, page 146, my camera seems to be missing some of the options.
It says to press the func button, followed by JPG set / RAW but I have these options available after the adjustment knob by pressing the func key.
I have 1) ' shot') 2 3) 4) movie setting size image format
those are the only choices. According to the manual there should be a lot more in this menu
Can you help me?

What shooting mode, you are, RAW is not available in Auto, Movie Digest or mode of the sports scene.

It is available in P, Tv, Av and M modes

I have problems when I shoot in raw + jpeg.  It seems that the raw files get corrupted.  I shot raw without a problem.  It's only when I shoot in raw + jpeg.  Raw files will not appear in Photoshop elements.  I installed the Canon software and could see all the raw files; However, I noticed that when I tried to post some full screen they would not show.  I also noticed that these block-ish look raw files.  They appear more digital research.   Is there a specail required in RAW + jpeg map?  I formatted ones I have before their use.

  • NEX 3N unable to shoot in RAW mode with lens SEL55210

With SEL55210 lens, the camera not the focal length so I try to shoot in RAW mode and gives an error message. If I change it to JPEG format, there is no problem. Is it a fault in the lens, or I have to change some settings in the camera? There is no problem with the kit lens.

    Thanks for your help.

    Peeam

    Hi peeam,

Yes, you're right about the lens is different according to the SELP1855. 1855 a motorized or electric zoom which allows the camera to control the lens. So, even during the activation or deactivation of the zoom features, you would still have to manually turn the zoom of the lens ring.

To be able to control the zoom using the camera, I suggest to use lenses that has Power Zoom (models that begin with SELP).

  • SHOOTING RAW

Is their any reason to use AEB when shooting in Raw?

You must use the AEB feature, because the RAW format can provide the true of only + -0.5 EV EV range.
If this is the beach you must, then no need to support the shots.
But if you need an EV +-2 or something like that, using the RAW file would result in loss of data and details. It is preferable to use EV bracketing.

  • Are Canon SX50 - programming (with RAW) mode you able to review the photo after you take it?

Just bought my camera and have carefully read the manual.  I want to work in program mode, so that I can shoot in RAW.  However, I can't seem to figure out what combo of menus and functions, I can use so that I can get a review of my photo after consider.  This feature works well in Auto Mode - but in Auto Mode, I can't shoot in RAW.  Anyone?

    Thank you

You should be able to press the control button to the right of the optical viewfinder to view images, regardless of what you are in the mode. It does not matter if the image is so RAW or JPEG. I assume that you entered in the menu and ensures that you do not have the exam put off.

  • RAW and JPEG shooting - how to reach?

Hi all - I want to shoot in RAW & JPEG tomorrow for an event. I'm sort of a newbie to this, help a friend at the last minute.

I don't have the original software provided with my Rebel T3 (that I read that I would need access to the RAW files).

    So I have 2 questions:

    (1) if I shoot in RAW and JPEG mode, I'll be able to access the correct JPEG files right now?

    (2) is there anywhere I can download free software to be able to access the RAW files then? Or is the software available for purchase as a replacement if you lost yours?

Digital Photo Professional is the free software which provides Canon. You can download the site somewhere.

RAW + JPG mode does let you see that the jpg immediately using software you already have on your computer.

This combo is a good idea since you don't know yet how to deal with RAW files and they seem very dull until you their punch up with some sharpness, contrast, color, etc. I'm not at all familiar with the DPP software.

2 pictures of each shot shooting into space memory fast burns. Take an extra memory card.

  • 5 Lightroom import not shooting information with JPEG files

When I shoot in raw 5 Lightroom doesn't have no problem importing my shooting information.  I try the super fine jpeg on an Olympus MDGs em 10 mark ii.  Lightroom matter very good photos, but there is no shooting of information that accompanies the photos.  Anyone know of a fix?  Thank you.

Triple-check that you do not have an import of metadata preset active.  In the import window, right column, under apply during import, make sure that metadata are set to None before importing JPEG files:

If this does not help, please download a JPEG sample directly from the camera (not imported by LR) card to Dropbox or similar and post the link here. We will check that indeed the EXIF metadata that are compatible with LR 5.

  • Camera selection help

I'm looking into getting a new camera for me.  Occasional photos of the family and others.

I'm wanting to get a camera that is about the size of a smartphone and take better pictures than one (my wife, for example, has one of those Amazon Fire phones).

I was watching the ELPH cameras and cameras in the series.  Any recommendations?

In the same sense, what makes a camera like the better/more expensive s 340 ELPH Powershot Powershot 150 IS?  Looking at the specs for individuals and others, they look for the most part; more big difference I noticed is the ability of Wi - Fi, I have no interest in.

    Thank you.

The PowerShot A series and the series ELPH cameras are only slightly better than newer than sensors mobile phone cameras are only slightly larger A and ELPH. A beautiful compact camera that would be higher than the cell phone would be 120 in my opinion. It is a camera very pocketable which has the same sensor size as the much larger G16 amateur camera and all full manual controls and the scene modes you could want. The lens is much brighter than the A series cameras and ELPH, with a much better ability to low light that cell phones are usually able to. The S120 can shoot in RAW and JPEG format and has a decent zoom range. I know the price is probably more you want to spend, but it would be a real advance upwards from a cell phone camera that you would really notice. The S110 is the old model and is much less expensive and would still be a big improvement over cell phones.

As far as the cost of the differences on the 340 s and 150 IS, the 340 a longer zoom range, for movies HD is a high definition, has a larger screen at the back of the camera and wifi. The 340 also has a range of ISO superior to work with.

  • Advise on the treatment of raw cr2 files

    Nice day!

I'm new shooting from raw files and are in need of some good advice & counsel to treat you in Aperture.

My camera canon 6 d, my version of opening is 3.6.

I import my photos to the Aperture library with selection of predefined effect 'auto-enhance', some how when I load the individual photo to see, it seems to 'do' my pictures 'dark' as compare when I saw from my camera.

I import my image to other raw by this time deselect the "settled", same thing happens when I see the photos in Aperture.

    My questions:

1 is this normal for the treatment of the raw files? Which means I have to make a few exposure & contrast adjustment?

2 or is there any tips that I can learn from your part in the treatment of raw with opening files?

    3. the pictures are perfect when I saw from my camera, however, it seems somehow bit 'out' when I load in Aperture.

Thanks to advanced tips & advise sharing.

    See you soon!

  • Watermark?

In the Photos, I and signature 'J' in the lower left corner. At first, I thought it was the JPEG, but I only shoot in Raw. How can I remove this mark? It does not matter in LightRoom. ? Help

Which would indicate that you are shooting JPEG and RAW (check your device settings) so pictures is stacking the two - JPEG had a badge J and the RAW has a R badge - when in edit mode you can choose to use RAW the original and displays RAW rather than JPEG - short of a complicated export format remove, waiting and re-import who loses some info the ony solution is to shoot JPEG or RAW - not both
