  • Icon for Network Magic Folders REMOVAL!

Hello.  I installed my Linksys WRT54G2 router software, and auto-installé Network Magic (Trial Version).  During installation, 2 icons appeared on my desk.  "Network Magic Folders" and "Network Magic", the latter is a shortcut.  I tried to remove the "Network Magic Folders" icon and it is mounted permanently on the desktop.  I read a post with a similar prob, but the "fix" was to right click on the NM icon on the taskbar, click on 'options', under general, select the checkbox 'icons hide NM.

Of 'options' menu when right clicking the icon on the taskbar NM or the notification icon, there is not.  How can I remove this icon, without uninstalling NM?

  • can I safely delete "unused desktop shortcuts" from my office?

my computer is slow, and I'm trying to remove as much junk I can of my C drive, as it got very crowded.  something appeared on my desktop-"unused desktop shortcuts" and it has more than 1,900 items.  can I safely remove this?  I have windows XP home - I'm not very techno

The folder with unused desktop shortcuts is generally created and filled during the execution of the Integrated Desktop Cleanup Wizard. 1900 shortcuts does not seem to be a bit excessive, but if you had the time close to machine, and the cleanup utility was run regularly so I guess it's possible to have accumulated that much over time.

You must be sure to remove the folder, although it won't make a difference to the functioning of your PC. Reasons for a slow running machine are usuallyeither that there is too much background running processes, or you have been infected by some kind of Malware.

    I hope this helps.

  • Cannot delete the desktop icon: Network Magic?

Running Windows 7 64-bit HP.  Network Magic is installed as a 30 day trial when I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 (why I've never waited so long?). I uninstalled by getting in pure Networks/Setup...etc; It's, I think I've done the proper uninstall. However, I can't get rid of his Network Magic Folders icon on my desktop. I can't even move the icon on the desktop. Right click gives: open and create a shortcut.  Selecting open doesn't do nothing, shortened by selecting creates a shortcut on the desktop that can be deleted. Suggestions?

EDIT: Here's an answer essentially the same question (http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7desktop/thread/3a90c945-1072-4bb7-9afc-ec8df2cee03b).  However, I'm not good in the registry to work, I can't go wrong with it as I don't know if the answer is there.

    That did the trick:

    Delete this key...

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\ {C55C499D-3518-44a1-998E-796AC5FC989D}]

  • Why XP machine removes the program icons to game out a journal of my son in office if I remove it from my office after having suddenly appeared?

It is an odd. I used XP for more than a decade. Of course, I know it's old. I have an ACER of 10 latest Windows that I use. I am the admin. on the XP computer. But for some reason, when it installs all new video games and it allows to put an icon on his desktop, he puts one on my desktop also. Not only which is strange, but if I can see and delete it, it removes from his office, and I think he even took his fully front access so he had to start over and reload the game. So, he loses any accumulation of points which is of course essential to the advancement and is tedious to do it again.

I think that I could save some time by going in the trash and restoring them on my desk and suddenly they were on her too.

He could have at one time logged in as me (Admin) and got an Admin too. But it remains in my journal in never just and plays games or even to install them.

If it has mystified me. WTH?

Your 'office' is derived from the contents of two folders.  In Windows XP, those are C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Bureau and C:\Documents and Settings\ is the name of the currently logged in user.

Many programs put their shortcuts in startup in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Bureau.  In this way, the shortcut is visible to any user, whenever the user connects.  On the other hand, if the shortcut is deleted by any user, it is removed for all users.

To solve your problem, sign in with your "computer administrator" account, open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Bureau.  Find the shortcut (s) in question and move them in C:\Documents and Settings\<>

  • Not like Network Magic more

I installed Network Magic on all my computers.  Yesterday, one of the computers is indicated as being on the network, but when I try to limit internet access I get a message saying that he must be upgraded to 5.1.  Why is it so before yesterday, the computer has the latest version? And when I checked the version of the software it doessay 5.1

I'm also posting this question some time ago, but I have not received a response:

Hi I have questions activate my license for Newtwork Magic on one of my computers in the home from the office.  I use 5.1.9005.0 - Pure Network Magic Pro ver. 0 there are a total of 3 computers on the network.  2 are laptops Dell with Vista Home.  The third computer is a desktop Dell Precision 330. The office is currently running Windows XP Pro SP3 of worm of 2002, Pentium 4 1800 MHZ.  I have cable internet, surfboard modem, D - link DIR-655 router.  The Office has a D-Link DWA - 552 XtremeN card.

I installed and uninstall Network Magic 4 times but I still got the same message and yes I ran a clean disk, manually the files deleted and restarted the computer each time. The message I get is: "the license server could not be contacted.  Please make sure you have internet connection and try again. »

I am currently using the Office to send this message then yes I am connected to internet but Network Magic is not recognizing the connection. On my computer, a laptop, Network Magic says the Office is located on the network, but an alert indicates that Network Magic is not installed.

  • Try to uninstall Pure Networks Network Magic, platform Assistant works, how can I get rid of it, can not find in my system

Have left nmrsrc.dll and 2 files nmspce2.dll.  Tried to delete it tells me that they are protected and hidden, do not know how to display them, nothing doesn't show in Add/Remove programs and windows search can not find them.

PFure networks Platform Wizard keeps saying it has encountered a problem and needs to close, have removed the remaining files, but cannot get rid of these two.  What should do?

    Hello

To view the files in XP follow these steps:

    a. in desktop screen click Start, then Control Panel, Panel Options.

    b. click on the view tab and check the box "see the hidden files and folders" and press OK.

    c. you will now be able to see all files and folders hidden on your computer. You can do a right click on the hidden folder and uncheck the hidden box and apply the changes to display it.

See this article on how to uninstall Network magic: http://www.purenetworks.com/support/faq/13.html

    http://www6.nohold.NET/Cisco2/UKP.aspx?pid=104&VW=1&articleid=21926

If you cannot uninstall the program, contact support for Network Magic team.

Thank you very much for trying to help, find the files I had to remove, they do not delete found files in Mode safe and they deleted properly.  When I cliked show hidden and program files did not see them, Safe Mode works perfectly.  Good job!

  • Network Magic cannot discover a "BEFSR41" router behind a "WET610N" wireless bridge

Just upgraded to a WRT610N 2 version in my office.  He pulls an IP address from my cable router and distributes IP addresses (this is setup for DHCP) without problem.  I need to extend the home network to another part of the House so I took 2 x WET610N wireless bridges.  Since many devices will have to use the bridge I'll recycle my BEFSR41 as a switch.  I have the router configuration and bridge; the bridge connects to the port "uplink" on the router, and the DHCP has been disabled on the router.  But when I run Network Magic BEFSR41 router cannot find the other side of the bridge.  Any ideas?

You need this post in the section Network Magic from this forum.  If the router acts as a switch, it will be transparent and not e seen.

  • Problem detection network with Network Magic/Pure platform Service quirks and WUSB54GC

Drivers: Latest from Linksys site (v4.9.90 setup.exe download)
Programs of security software: Comodo & Panda Cloud Antivirus Firewall
Configs of security software: uninstalled, installed or disabled, and installed/enabled

    DETAILS OF THE PROBLEMS:

No wireless network is detected on the computer with the installed adapter WUSB54GC.  Cell phones, printer (located in the same office) and game console, receive positive signals / have no connectivity problem.  With a new installation of Windows (i.e. the BONES cost installation before using each method) I tried to install the unit using the following methods: 1) using the Setup program on the CD-ROM included, 2) using the last program (drivers) site Web of Linksys, install 3) manually through the device with drivers from the Disk Manager and installing 4) manually through the Device Manager with the newer drivers from the Web site Linksys.  In addition, I tried with the firewall disabled/uninstalled software.

I had some success using the Linksys Wireless Manager program that is included in the installation program.  However, it is only if I choose the option 'connect to the hidden network' when the Wireless Manager is ran in the last step of the Installer (no network is detected the case).  The quirks are that the network is not hidden, and after Setup is complete, I can see all the wireless LANs with the Linksys Wireless Manager (no need to check the option hidden network).  After a few diagnostic tests, I think that the Network Magic software that is installed in quiet mode with the Linksys software is at the origin of the problem.

During the detailed above method that allowed me to connect to the network, I used the firewall software to observe that connectivity can be established only if nmsrvc.exe, a component of the network Network Magic/pure software platform that is installed silently, is allowed access to the network.  After this program to access the Linksys Wireless Manager network can detect networks normally and connectivity problems disappeared.  After he logged initially I can even kill the process, its assistance process and the program manager wireless, still maintain connectivity.  I also thought about this magic (AKA pure networks platform service) network installation two other network protocols that when disabled preventing connectivity.  With certainty the adapter only works if I finish the complete installation program by using the hidden network option and continue to use linksys wireless/network magic software later.

I'm trying to understand why the Network Magic software is necessary to detect and use all networks.  As I said originally, I tried just to install the drivers through the device without success Manager.  The adapter is configured on a machine Pentium 4 of 2001, and this software supports 40 MB of precious CPU cycles and memory.  I want to connect to my wireless network and use the computer without software bloated slow down the computer even more.  My own conclusion, after all these tests are that my router needs the network magic to work properly for some reason, but if that's true, I would at least use Windows connects to the network as Linksys Wireless Manager uses 30MB RAM itself.  Of course, it's more a problem advanced if I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read all this and make their contribution.  Thank you.

I think that the most appropriate statement would be that the WUSB54GC has some compatibility issues with Windows XP SP3.

Specifying the age of the available Linksys drivers I did some research and discovered that the WUSB54GCv3 uses a third party (a common practice), the Ralink RT2800UD chipset.  Latest Ralink drivers for this chipset are over a year newer than the official drivers from Linksys.  They require just a few reconfiguration so that they work with Linksys WUSB54GCv3.  With the updated drivers comes better compatibility and performance often.

Once I installed these drivers updated the device could detect local wireless normally, and I was able to use the Zero Windows wireless utility to connect to my network.  I think that others with similar compatibility problems will have the same result.  For more information and links to these pilots updated already visit reconfigured: http://sites.google.com/site/linksysupdateddrivers/.  There are not official, updated drivers for many other Linksys products here.  Credit for the drivers and the Web site goes to this person: http://sites.google.com/site/linksysupdateddrivers/about.

I was looking at the different programs installed on my desk, left for a while and when I came back, I couldn't open any documents. After a further inspection, I realized that all of the above programs are gone.
I am very serious here and I hope that someone can help me. Is it possible that alright are still there on the hard drive and / or somewhere and can be put back? Please help me; I would be very grateful. Thank you.

Double click on 'My Computer', the window will show you the different readers installed on your pc. Double-click the disk Local (c) under the title of hard drives and a window will open showing you the folders and files on that drive. Click on the search button, select all files and folders to search for and type Excel.exe in the "all or part of the name of the file:" box. Click on the button Search & see if it happens.
    Repeat for Winword.exe and Powerpnt.exe.

If the search finds them, note their location - which will probably be C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office * (where * can be a number).
