  Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

  There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

  If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

• The addons on Firefox stopped, but they are all still turned on?

  After you restart Firefox multiple times, it seems that some addons that I activated have stopped working, I have to say that all the addons are always enabled, but have stopped working. They are all updated and so is Firefox, they were compatible before restart me Firefox. Does anyone have an idea of what is happening and how to fix it? Thank you!

  It is possible that there is a problem with the files that store the registry extensions.

  Delete the files (extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the extensions registry.

  If you see disabled extensions or is not compatible in "Firefox button/Tools menu > Modules > Extensions ' and then click the Tools button at the left end of the search bar to check if there is an update available compatibility.

  If that didn't help then remove addons.json and possibly prefs.js in the case where there is a problem with preferences.

• Constantly check addon compatibility on new install v32

  Since I updated to the latest FF v32 it always checks the compatibility of the addons whenever I start it. It was really boring, so I went back to a previous version and everything worked well, all the addons worked and there was no question but this new version has done nothing but give me a headache. Is this a bug in the new update system or what? Do a fresh install with it, with a new directory and I tried with same. Remove the old prefetch (if any), the windows cache, restarted, but the same problem.

  Upgrade to FF28 & addons all + userscripts show that disabled, even if they are enabled.

  All that done as a cause of Firefox go in a "reboot several times 50 times more than one by one and each time asked me to manually install each addon. The process took more than 5 minutes and left me very impressed by the ability of Firefox bugs.

  End result? I am still sitting with the same problem. All the addons are showing that off, when they are turned on in fact. I cannot change them, uninstalled them or install new addons.

  PS. Oh and I write of Sleipnir not Firefox because Firefox has refused to work with the buttons on this page for some reason any (yes I'm allowing scripts in NoScript)
  PPS. Oh and my old account here for some reason some refused to open a session, even though I wrote the user name and password and I tried using the user AND email for the login process. Overall, very impressed with the services of Mozilla for now. I really want to move to a different browser.
  PPP. I have over 300 tabs open in Firefox, so can't go on the road to reset, because Firefox has no way to record a session.

  Honestly, Firefox must be transportable by default. What the point of having a browser that you spent 12 months + customization with 300 + tabs open, if your Windows partition is damaged and you cannot retrieve your tabs because it is installed? I will never use the installed version of Firefox again because it is impossible to save. If I had been using portable Firefox at the time where I could have accessed my XP partition corrupted with Ubuntu live USB, back up the folder and be good to go on my new install of Windows 8. Instead I had to start from scratch. That's what you get for not using of portable software.

  This is resolved. The steps that I followed:

  1. Ignore all the Internet advice and find a way to do it myself because no one else seems to know anything about Firefox.
  2. Save the entire Firefox portable folder making it a 7zip file
  3. Disable all addons
  4. Download the latest mobile Installer
  5. Install using the portable Installer but navigate up to the existing installed cell phone directory
  6. Open portable Firefox after updating
  7. Update all addons (do not select all again)
  8. Restart Firefox
  9. Now activate the addons, then restart Firefox

  Note: installing addons now I find that I can't add using the button 'Download' for the addon, I have to copy the URL of the button, paste it in a new tab and press enter

  I want to improve every time I have the same problem. A normal level is normal, but then the new version will check the addons for compatibility and there it does'nt go further.

  I used version 3 for years, as whenever I tried an update, it crashes. Even with 9. So I had to always go back and reinstall 3, where everything would be fine. 9 works on my laptop with Vista and the new feature I wanted was synchronization, to synchronize bookmarks. This idea of love. But on my desktop with XP, could not for the life of me get Firefox works with any version past 3.

  Here's the solution that worked for me:

     opened the version that worked, and saved bookmarks to USB drive. That's the main thing I wanted in the new version.
     uninstalled FF
     manually deleted all files in FF and Mozilla folders on the hard drive, including any folder named "mozilla" or "firefox"
     edited the registry (read about how to do this properly elsewhere) and manually did a search for and removed every single instance of "mozilla" and "firefox" that existed on the computer. Made sure I did search from the top of the registry tree
     rebooted
     installed firefox 9
     imported bookmarks from USB drive
  

  everything works fine now! Years of updates does not work and a clean registry does the job.

• How to fix unresizeable maximized the window the addon

  I'm on Firefox Mac v42. I followed some instructions on resizing windows on El captain and now I have a window of the addon for "DownTheAll" which is maximized to full screen and has no control to resize it.

  I can move it, but just not resize. Uninstalling and reinstalling the addon has not set so I suspect theres a window size setting somewhere in Firefox, I need trouble.

  Before you give up and go through the hassle of creating a whole new profile, anyone got any ideas please?

  Hi guys,.
  My browser did weird stuff today and now all the addons are disabled with only one option to remove, select not. What the devil? I don't think that I'm not in Mode safe, as it is an option in the Help menu to get back with all the addons disabled. See attached screenshot for reference.

  I don't see another way to do, so I had to reinstall all extensions individually to get back them.

  Image shows in every day, newly developed v.37 FF, with all the addons updated helped start. FF started in safe mode is exactly the same. Have already tried disabling WindowBlinds (title bar skin provider); It made no difference. A hardware acceleration disabled/enabled video. Not good. Updated hardware drivers (unless they released a last week). I hate using IE, and I wouldn't rather load Chrome. My time to play with several browsers on since HotJava.

  Seems to have been corrupted themes or not enough new themes. Upgrade to a more recent March 2015 seems to have cleared up the problem.

• What config preferences would lead the button in the addon to the no fire no?

  The context search X Addon does not work in my default profile, Firefox ver 34. Some of these buttons does not fire, but all the other addons and the links are clickable. Yet the addon works in a new profile I created to diagnose the problem. Deactivation of all the addons in the default has not solved the problem. The problem is perhaps not an addon, but among the preferences of config, but I don't know which. Preferences in particular could be the cause of this behavior?

• How can I get the addon "Colorful tabs" to work with the addon "classic restaurateur theme?

  I have the colourful tabs addon. But after the addition of the addon Classic theme restaurateur (to retrieve my tabs on the bottom), the color tabs addon does not work. My tabs are now all the same color work addon of the tabs colorful so that all tabs are different colors, so to say to which tab is the one that you use the right then the active tab puts a thin line on the tab bar of the same color as the active tab. So if you have 5 tabs open and they are all the diffierent colors, whether the tab your page in the Green, then you will see a thin green line on the screen (sort of like a horizontal border line). I can see a colored line (different from the color of all the tabs are now) under the tab bar. If I click on a different tab, change the color of the line. I can't tell what color my tab SHOULD be if it was just work, so I know that this addon is installed and working, but not to the poster for a reason any. Is it possible to fix this?

  If you only use the extension of the CTR for the tabs at the bottom, then there are other ways like code in userChrome.css or an extension like tabs on background that might work better.

  You can move the tabs on the lower position, just above the navigation area without the use of an extension cord with code to userChrome.css that basically, you just give the tab bar a higher value of - moz-box-ordinal-group (most toolbars have a default value for - moz-box-ordinal-group: 1 to show them in the order of DOM).

• Remove the Addon savings

  I have this addon EXTREMELY persistent malware, which of course, I did not want to install, and I have zero success getting rid of...

  The name of the Addon is "Addon of savings." I uninstalled it through Control Panel and firefox, but still, the addon still appears when I surfed with Firefox... I did a search on the internet, but so far none of the visited Web sites ive seem to offer a solution that works (at least for me)

  Try to delete "HDvid 3 Codec".

  It can also be removed by AdwCleaner (link in this article: Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware).

• Why my addons occur is no longer on the bar of the addon?

  I use the latest from BBC 1.31.1 addon which until a short time has always been present in the bar of my addon. I also just downloaded the addon Watch UK TV 1.46.1, but seems no more on the addonbar. The two addons are enabled (and both have been developed by Mike Redrobe).
  Anyone know how to make them reappear? I have already tried to remove and reinstall to no avail. The addons have not finished on the Tools menu, and aren't in the personalization Control Panel. This problem is driving me crazy!

  Managed to fix it myself (I think I remember to do the same thing when the problem occurred once before):

  Go to tools-> Options-> privacy. Choose "use the custom settings for history."
  and 'Accept third-party cookies' (I don't think it really matter is you check other options or no).

  It worked for me.
