Delete the trc on udump/bdump: device (disk) space is not free data

Hello
We have a database that throws a lot error ORA-00060 (deadlock detected). In fact, it is always due to poor design of the application that is running on the database.
The tracefiles in the directory... / udump become enormous. But when remove us these files from space on the device/system files is still occupied by oracle. My question now is:
-> which is expected behavior?
When bounce us the database space on the file system is released again...

Any help will be appreciated...

database version: 10.2.0.3.0
OS-system: HP - UX (Intel Itanium 11.23)

You know who trial (his) have a file open for your deleted file descriptor.
If this isn't a trial background Oracle that has a file open file descriptor and then kill the process and the space will be recovered.

I'm not a unix guru but found something on the internet that may be useful:

===========================================================
A convenient way to iterate through each process descriptors of files is to just run a loop simple shell, its replacement by your particular arguments of the ps, as version:

# for x in the host ' ps - ef | AWK ' {print $2} "; do ls $ / proc / x / fd; fact

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

Delete the existing Partitions during the process.

  • The easy transfer tool Windows calculates disk space before starting to transfer?

Using the transfer windows easy between 2 pc both with vista. Calculate wet if there is enough space on 'new' drive until it begins the transfer?

    Thanks for the help.

    original title: disk space

    Hi Pitski,

Yes, Windows easy transfer evaluates disk space is needed to transfer your selections. If you use a USB flash drive, try to use one with enough storage space for the transfer of all. If your USB drive is not large enough to transfer everything at once, you can copy as many files that it will hold, transfer those files to the new computer, and then reconnect the drive to the old computer and repeat the process.

You can consult the section "what method should I use to transfer my files and settings?" section:

  • I use creative cloud in order to download the trial of Photoshop on my pc but this error:-Instillation failed. Not enough disk space. Please free up space on C and try again (-30)

I use creative cloud in order to download the trial of Photoshop on my pc but this error:-Instillation failed. Not enough disk space. Please free up space on C and try again (-30)

I entered the settings of cloud and told to download for my largest drive E (which it fine for lightroom) but it only downloads on drive C (small disk almost full) for Photoshop. I missed something or is this a bug?

    Thanks in advance

Shared resources and temporary files will be stored on your primary drive.  If a lack of disk space prevents installation then make sure you have enough space on the main drive for temporary files and installation files extracted to be placed.

  • Help! CHKDSK not enough disk space to recover lost data. My hd is not accessible!

    Help me!!!
I've been running chkdsk on my hd
and it is recovering data... suddenly this message appeared: not enough disk space to recover lost data
I tried to delete some data... but can not access my hd!

    HELP ME PLEASE!
    Thankss

    Hey Polo,

    1. What exactly you're talking about when you say "my hd are not accessible? What exactly you get the error message?
    2. It is an external hard drive?

You need to do something to free space on your drive, aiming for 20 percent of capacity.

Move or delete some files to free disk spaceand then try again the Chkdsk utility.

Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

Please post back with the State of the question.

  • Cannot delete the backup files to external HARD disk

BIN... ".  Anyone know how to remove these?  Operating system is Windows Vista SP2.

    Hi John

Some of the files that you see (as the trash) are system files and do not need to be deleted.

Before taking other measures, what volume of personal files is on the external hard drive? Did you direct copies of music/photos etc.? -"Free 465 GB only 213 GB" is not quantify how many do you think should be free!

Also - what the drive and were records of backup performed using embedded software of the player?

The best solution here is perhaps simply reformat the drive (after making sure that you have an exact replica of all personal files on your pc that you can then copy to it) but give us a little more detail the first.

    Thank you - R

  • Lack of available disk space; does not recognize that I have deleted files

Today I found out, I had 2 GB left on my hard drive 150 GB (Windows XP Home edition, HP mini, purchased mid-2010).  I deleted about 20 GB of different files is no longer needed.  The properties of my C drive still say it be only 2 GB of free space, as if these files have not been deleted.  How can I force to actually evaluate disk space?  He always acts as if the hard drive is full, I can't save anything bigger than 2 GB because he thinks that's all he opened.

I tried disk clean, defragment, properties of the material, Manager Matrix Storage Manager hardware, intel and now compress, then decompress it.  He still refuses to admit that I released 20 GB of space.

    Hi akbk28,

I suggest that you perform a cleaning disc again and see if it helps. Check out the following link and make sure that you follow the steps mentioned.

  • When is it safe to remove the old updates and patches recover disk space?

I have a LONG list of updates from windows to windows xp, Media Player, microsoft, etc. in a way at the time where I got first computer and set on automatic updates. I'm sure that they consume valuable disk space but how do I know which ones can be deleted without problem?

Never. If you remove them, it defeats the purpose of the patch/security updates. Your calculation returns to a previous state vulnerable.

If you need space, get an external hard drive for all of your data.

The approximate layout works very well, but the real tv-content (contraction) or the real message (ggroups) texts will not be displayed. Also, by clicking on the wheel of preferences in ggroups will display a small empty box instead of a drop-down list filled with stuff.
The pages all work properly in chrome.

Note that youtube and google search normal, pages provider freemail, news pages and basically all the other pages I can think of work normally and 100%!

I use linux 64-bit, firefox 22. However, this problem is not new, it's happened with older versions of ff too. I'm just tired of pulling up chrome every time, so I decided to report it here for a solution.

Well, after you move a large number of files and the contents of the file autour, I found a solution:

    Delete the line
    user_pref ("dom.storage.enabled", false);
    of prefs.js solved the problem.

    Thank you.

  • iPhoto masters of the same file as file pictures Masters? If this is not the case, can I delete the file from iPhoto masters to save space?

I clean my system and hoped that someone can tell me if my Masters iPhoto file was separated altogether from the new master files of Photos?  These two files communicate with each other, or they are completely independent of each other?  I use pictures now, and I guess my pictures, it draws from its own masters file.  Can I safely delete the masters iPhoto without losing all the photos?  Masters iPhoto file is approx. 113GB and the file Photos Masters is about 140 GB, so I guess they are independent of each other.  I appreciate the help.  Thank you!

    they are totally independent

You can remove without affecting the other

BUT it will save very little space because they are both pointing to the same original photos using the links hard- pictures recorded on the disc to share images with your iPhoto or libraries Aperture - Apple Support

Unless you are absolutely positive that you are finished with the iPhoto library (and unless he had three or more months I suggest you can't be done with it) it is recommended not to delete the iPhoto library - you can never remove parts - remove the library or keep it
