    Try a reboot.

Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in system preferences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolate a problem by using a different user account

If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

I'll let Bruce answering your question, but I would point out that Outlook

no doubt running Outlook Express 6 (there is no version of Outlook

  • Deleting photos and it goes to the trash

Recently bought a MacBook Pro with the retina display it with iOS ELCapitan 10.11.4 after migration does'nt migrate my photos and music. I have solve it with copy of the photos with the external hard drive and stick it in iPhotos Library.iphotos.library. It works, but when I remove the pictures that he deleted but does ' t goes to the trash. Please help solve this problem. Thank you.

What kind of library are automatically using, iPhoto or Photos.  The package of photo library in your pictures folder will look like this:

If it's the library that you handle the here's what you need to do to remove a photo from the library and the hard drive (it won't to the trash in the Dock like in iPhoto):

Remove Photos from a library of Photos 1.5

    1. regardless where you are in the library, i.e. Moments, collections, albums, smart albums or projects, select the photos you want to remove, use the command + delete keyboard shortcut to move the photos to the recently deleted smart album.

2 - Click on the albums smart recently deleted in the sidebar.

NOTE 1: If you use pictures 1.2 or earlier, use the option menu file ➙ show recently deleted .

    3. in the recently deleted album, you can opt to leave the photo automatically delete after the 30-day waiting period is in place, remove them immediately or restore them in the library.

NOTE 2: deleting a photo from an album, slideshow, book, etc., the delete key only deletes the photo of this element.  There is no combination of keys that will remove a photo from a project and move directly to the recently deleted smart album.

NOTE 3: removal of a photo of a moment or Collection (window pictures) or Photos of all window deletes ALL occurrences of this photo in the library.

  • ___Can can't delete Inbox email unless it's going in the trash and to return to the Inbox.

This has just begun. I get an email - I'm deleting it - it goes to 'trash' - then either, it appears immediately to the top in the Inbox or it remains in the trash until I click on "Basket" how it goes back to the Inbox. The only way to get rid of him should immediately empty the trash by clicking on it and pour it into the drop-down window. I could use some help.

Your anti-virus program has an e-mail scan option enabled ?
If so, turn this option off, see if that fixes.

  • deleted files are not going in the trash

When I delete a file, it is removed immediately after a warning message. Deleting the file just put it in the trash. I reinstalled the OS X El Capitan, but which is not fixed. I cannot find any setting that would cause this to happen. Any ideas?

    Hi Holly:

Try to open finder > finder Preferences > Advanced Tag and make sure "Show warning before emptying the trash" is checked.

    I also found this:

  • A sent e-mail is also going in the trash in various forms

Sent an email from Google to my credit card customer service. The next day, I noticed about eight versions of this email in the trash. The first note was only 'Dear Sir', but each version a little more mail, until the final version had all of the content.  second version had, "Dear Sir, please see my attachment ', the third was ' Dear Sir, please see my attached below", and so on). It's weird and a bit disturbing, since it was in correspondence with my credit card company. No explanation?

Same problem here. The e-mail rule--> accounts--> Expunge deleted e-mails after one day. week | month becomes active. I installed Spamsieve, but should not intervene. • I created a personal document on my computer at work and when I removed it he wasn't going in the trash, so I could remove it permanently.

Does this mean that scientists have for sure? Could I delete be monitored and goes directly to them? Some documents related to the work went into the trash before that I was so stupid as to create a confidential document of the word, but not since. If I do not remove documents can they be recovered by HIM a few weeks later? In addition, if I deleted a cookie with my name on the list, which will trigger a red flag? I'm panicking. Help, please.

    Hello

You should never do anything on your work computer that you don't want your employer to see. No employee should use hardware company with any expectation of privacy. It is their equipment to be used for business purposes, not yours.

Could they monitor your deleted files? Yes, but I doubt unless their cause.

Could they check your cookies? Yes, but again once I doubt.

If they could recover a file you deleted permanently? Absolutely - it's their hardware and they could, if they wish, hire a forensic specialist in computer to retrieve the contents of the disc.

Should you panic? Only if you have given to their cause, otherwise it is unlikely they will want to bother making a single file you're worried. Good luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Crazy" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Windows help - www.rickrogers.org

  • going in the trash

    Hello

I collect files in a folder; some of them I want to the trash. I make a selection (say a few thousand files) and use the shortcut to send them to the trash. This process in abnormally long and it took over an hour to send them to the trash. Trash is draining normally.

The folder created for the recovery of files is on my session; I have about 25 GB of free RAM.

    Why is it so slow?

Usually, I can do the same and it goes pretty quickly (even if there are many files at the same time).

    Clues?

    Thank you

I should add that the record contains more than 130,000 files it contains.

  • Why files are not deleted in research appearing in the trash?

I went to search - files/folders. JPG - and there were 6,000 points---(mon fils m'a dit de vérifier là)

-When I play OKBridge - all the people on the bridge were there---(j'ai laissé un message OK à ce sujet)

I used shift - delete to delete them all, but they are not in the trash - please help - KC222

SHIFT + delete deletes the files selected without moving them to the trash. You will need to use data recovery software to recover these files.

When a file is deleted in this way, it is actually marked as unused space on your hard drive. Windows can replace the files during normal use, making them unrecoverable. It is therefore important to use your computer as little as possible until what they are retrieved. There are several data recovery on the strong programs - do a search on the web for them.

Finally a tip for the future, if all the data are important to support you.

  • Compact email goes in the trash...?

I had a similar problem when I stop, a message pops up asking if I wanted to compact my email.  Sure! The next day, I noticed there are countless emails from my account Windows Express, that I didn't want to NOT deleted. It's a little different... what's up?

Because of the problems that you have encountered, Microsoft began to save the dbx files in the trash before compacting (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2 for an explanation).

If you have lost messages during the compaction, you can restore the bak files and retrieve messages.  Just process the file bak as a new dbx file and import it as described here: www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#imp1

It is very important that you back up your messages frequently in OE if you care for them.  OE will self-destruct messages on its own.  This happens especially if dbx files get more than a few hundred megabytes each, so make sure you bring things (see www.oehelp.com/OEBackup/) If you hold to your messages.
