HDMI settings

I'm trying to watch a movie from my PC on my HDTV.  When I plugged the HDMI cable, a box of what I wanted to the settings for the connection and I think that I chose the wrong option, because now I only get a black screen when I plug the HDMI cable?  I can't find the settings that arises at the start?

Hi Catherineblake,

Thank you for visiting the answers from Microsoft Windows Vista forum.

There are several reasons as to why there is no display on the TV. I recommend the following steps to resolve this problem.

Method 1:

For Windows Vista you HDMI plugged into your TV, you must set your resolution to match what your TV supports.

To check what resolution your TV supports; all minimize you windows, right-click on your desktop and select properties of the graph...

Click on the information link and click on the tab for digital television. Under supported models, it lists the resolution your TV is compatible.

Go to display settings and set the resolution on your PC to match what your TV supports and apply.

Method 2:

You can try to uninstall and reinstall the video drivers supplied by Device Manager.

Method 3:

Check the settings of the display card. Try to restore all settings to an earlier date when he was not working.

Try these steps and let us know what happened?

Kind regards

  • Satellite U500-176: Impossible to get an HDMI output to work on television or monitor

    Hello

I have a new Satellite U500-176 but impossible to get the HDMI to work on a TV or monitor.

Usually, when the monitor is connected and I press Fn + F5 I get only the 1 option (LCD).
Occasionally, the HDMI options work but when I select one it goes to the screen and runs successfully for a few seconds then automatically returns.

    Any ideas?

    See you soon,.
    Roy.

    Hello

Hmm, what operating system are you using?
Was - this operating system preinstalled by Toshiba?

Please take a look in the BIOS. There should be HDMI settings. Please check if it is enabled.
In addition, I would recommend checking the graphics card driver update.

What version of BIOS you are using the most recent?

  • Setup Motorola Atrix with Google TV via a HDMI device problem, help?

I'm curious to know if anyone has had problems with implementation of devices via HDMI or using the Motorola Atrix (I'll be crossed this announcement on the forums Android and Motorola too to see what response I'll be there too).

"After connecting my Atrix, turned to the Google TV (29') using the HDMI cable I got with the phone, I go to 'Settings' > 'Video input' > HDMI settings" > "Device list" > and click on "Enable", I get an error message that says:

No HDMI devices have been found. Please check the connections.

Thanks to a default function I chose, the "remote control" screen on my Atrix.

I tried all four cards HDMI on the TV and received the same error message.

Anyone would be able to help me solve this?

I have the Sony NSX24GT1 24 and my phone is a Motorola Atrix Mobile phone black MB860 running on the Android 2.3.4 version.

p.s. I really like my phone and I really like my TV and the possibility of using the two together! I really hope I can get help with this. Thank you!!

Fixed! I had to press the input button on the very complicated, heavy Google TV remote control button (bad design).

  • Smaller with the 2511 X HP monitor screen HDMI cable?

Hi people, I have a desktop HP p6230f, Windows 7 64-bit o/s and a GPU ATI Radeon HD 5770. I had no problem with it until last night. Finally, I changed my DVI cable connecting the monitor to the computer during an HDMI cable.

I have a picture of a 1 "wide black on three of the four sides of the screen! For example; If I drag an icon on my desktop or one of the items in my sidebar to the outer edges of the screen, they begin to disappear behind a blackened by the section of the frame of the screen about 1 "of the actual plastic mount that make up the structure of the entire screen!

Now that 1 "size approximate but the width of the glass of the monitor is 21 3/4 but I can get about 20" of the real, usable, the screen display and 12 1/4 inches monitor glass vertically measured I can get about 11 1/8 inches of usable display! This means that I get less of 23 "usable display when measured diagonally.

I already checked the monitor to the HDMI settings and I don't see nothing wrong in the settings of Windows 7. I'm about to reinstall the driver for the monitor, but I seriously doubt that will work.

Also, I noticed that all my fonts and size of my desktop icons are smaller than they were before the change. I know how to enlarge them all but the problem is that they seem to keep back to the small size when I shut down the computer and start it back up.

Now, it is possible that the problem is not related to the HDMI cord and I'm only note this 1 "black frame on each side and the top of my screen for other reasons unrelated to the monitor HDMI cable.

So yes, I'll reinstall the DVI cable and see if that makes a difference, but even if it does, my question is; Why this would happen when connected to the HDMI cord, (I will also check the drivers of the HD 5770)

    Thank you

HAH! It wasn't my imagination! Just when I was about to throw in the towel and admit that I was imagining all this and he went even to pull demand for assistance on the site I found the problem.

For those who can run in this one day in the future, the resolution is in the "AMD Vision Engine Control Center" . I had lost my settings because I got an error of starting due to my inability to follow directions on a USB HUB, I added to the system last night*.

On the left of this Panel of the user is a number of adjustments, you can do on a good many things involving graphs including the monitor you are using. Just click on the box entitled 'My digital flat screens' and Tin the drop-down list, click on "Options of scaling (Digital Flat Panel).

You will see a slider that lets you adjust the scale yourself, or you can put a check in the box and have done automatically. If you use the cursor like I did, drag it over to the full adjustment right up to '0% overscan. As you do that you will see on the screen grow to fill the entire display window, (every 25 inches diagonal of it).

That's all! Click "Apply" and you're done. This issue is resolved.

** (that's another story, but the short of it is that you do not want to add devices to the HUB USB FRONT that the new hub will load its drivers!).

  • HDMI problems

I have a laptop HP DV5, that I had connected to the TV in the past using the HDMI cable I got screen and audio that all fine now it has stopped working. When I plug in the laptop screen flashes about 3 times then TV has no signal. How can I get the HDMI settings where it ask you how you would like it displayed (its Vista).  If I plug in my other laptop with windows 7 everything works fine any idea? Thanks, Josh

  • Help! I'm in hell HDMI!

My TV - a Sony Bravia KDL37S5500 - has never been able to connect to my laptop via HDMI without blinking intermittently, which then becomes the image of a blue tint.

My laptop is a HP G61-110EA.

I sent Sony TV for repair, because it does not work with any of my laptops.  They say that the problems of my devices.

They told me to change the HDMI settings on my laptop.  I am running Windows 7 and don't know how to do this.  As I say, the TV does not work with my laptop or my apple TV, so I really can't be sure what the situation is.  Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Ive tried different cables and the problem persisted.  I tried my devices on other TVs and they were all very good.

If it works on other TVs and not on your Sony when you are using the same HDMI cable then the problem is with your Sony TV.

In Windows, there is a presentation mode that is accessible by holding the Windows key and by pressing the P button when connected to an external monitor. Presentation mode works with external monitors and digital projectors to allow a user to choose where it will be displayed.

. If the screen turns blue and makes other strange things, then the TV has a problem of entry.

Are you sure you have connected the HDMI cable to the HDMI input correct? My Philips HDTV has three HDMI inputs. There is one at the back and two on the side.

  • Significantly more faint image on the TV screen

I have an old Gen II Apple TV that outputs via HDMI to a Panasonic 1080 p, quite a good TV.  No matter what I do to the settings of the TV (or the Apple TV HDMI settings), the display of the images/video generated by the ATC is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than the image delivered by cable to the TV - the first arriving via port HDMI 2 and the second by port HDMI 1.  Yes, even if I change the ports, the situation is the same.  It is NOT a problem of TV.  It was NOT held because my BIKE is 'old' - is this way from day one.

I wonder if anyone noticed this as a problem and THAT, perhaps, it has been addressed in ATV4.  He became especially disturbing now that the TV is behind the glass dielectric "FrameMyTV."

Not had this problem myself, nor seen such reports. Have you tried another cable? Tested on another TV?

  • Satalite L500-1R3 red lines appear at different locations, watching movies on TV

When im connected to my computer laptop hd tv with hdmi cable when watching films, there is a red line that appear in different places all the time the film is going.
Sometimes, they would change to blue line according to the colors in the movie.
Also the film for a s-2 slows down randomly or going fast as if it were a documentery and not a movie.

Same goes with the vga output only that I don't have the red lines on the screen.
And why quelquesUne my lap top don't get recognized by 2 / 3 output from the HDMI to your TV.

BTW I checked it 2 TV so is not the problem of the tv and it is not the problem of cable as well since the ps3 connection and play does give me no problem as I mentioned above.

I am running windows 7 64 bit with all the drivers updated.

Hope some of you had this problem and would be able to help me.

Also the face recognition almost never works: p

Have you noticed the same sense on s to laptop screen?

I think you should check the different HDMI cables and should check the HDMI settings and the different ports of the TV, even if the HDMI cable works very well with the PS3.
The fact is that these lines does not appear on the TV using the VGA port and VGA cable so it has something to do with port HDMI, TV or the cable.

In addition, you should check if this issue would be reading different movies from different sources (HDD, DVD, etc.)

Last but not Lea I would recommend updating the graphics card driver.
It seems to be an INTEL GL40 graphics card.
    Try a page Intel driver

  • Why is my new apple tv flicker

Today, I bought a my first Apple TV and hooked up when I got home. Connection fitted perfectly and with the touchpad functions new distance takes some getting used to, but what bothers me, is the flickering of the screen that happens every minute or two. No matter if I'm playing music, watching a show or a game. I have checked all my connections, the signal strength is perfect and I am disappointed that I am already having a problem. Does anyone have an answer or I just need to get my camera to the store? I probably don't re-use appletv, if return is the only answer. I've heard so many good things on fire from amazon, but wanted to remain loyal to Apple. Help, please

Apple TV has a setting for the video resolution and refresh rate.  It should automatically detect that your TV is capable of however, there may be a better setting to manually choose.  Go to settings and video then hdmi settings and try selecting a lower frequency in the resolution of your TV.  For example, there may be several 1080 settings with say 60 or 50 Hz.  When you open the settings page it shows what is currently selected in the lower left corner of the screen.  I bet you will find a setting that eliminates the occasional flicker.

  • 2 questions about Sony STR DN1030

First of all, how can I activate AirPlay without turning on the TV at the same time? I have a Sony's Bravia TV. I tried to change the HDMI settings but did not understand right now.

Secondly, one of the reasons why I bought this unit was because it supports the reading of Zone 2. I called Sony to ask about it before you buy it and was assured that she had the ability. However, I find now that Zone 2 does not work with AirPlay, which was the main reason I wanted. Someone has understood how to play Airplay through Zone 2?

    Hello

  • DMA2200 on PC-monitor does not work?

    Hello

Well I have except the fact that the DMA2200 support not the VOB files, that the dvd drive is not region free and I had to reverse the mistakes of codes avi using the FourCC change codec, I'm surprised that I'm not able to see anything on a standard PC monitor.

At first, I plugged the Componet video output (Y, Pb, Pr) of my DMA2200 directly on the vga input of the monitor (Dell 1900FP) with a cable special nine, but I saw just nothing more than a black screen. I changed the monitor for a LG Flatron L222WS monitor told me that the frequency was out of reach... Certain signals does not cross?

But as the DMA2200 has a HDMI output that welland the Dell1900FP supports DVI - D Dual Link entry too, I. The 1900FP has a resolution of 1280 x 1024 and it can be run up to 75 Hz, 60 Hz it's native refresh rate. So, I went back to the store and bought a HDMI<->DIV - D Single Link cable.

    Only one? Yes, why not!

DVI dual link as its name suggests has drivers more than the single link DVI for signal transmission. Single link DVI supports a maximum bandwidth of 165 MHz (1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz, 1280 x 1024 at 85 Hz) and use 12 of the 24 pins available. Dual link DVI uses all 24 pins available and supports a maximum bandwidth 2 x 165 MHz (2048 x 1536 at 60 Hz, 1920 x 1080 at 85 Hz).

So, I plugged the HDMI<->DVI - D on the DMA2200, the Dell1900FP monitor and the monitor directly on channel 2: digital input. But... a black screen again. As I left the monitor rescanning the entrance, he tells me "Please press any key of the mouse button. It seems that the monitor sees a digital signal, but expected more... hmm... what to do?

I tried to use NTSC (instead of our PAL) on the DMA2200 menu as the frequency changes, but it does not work. I also used all of the selections of entry on the DMA2200-menu (like composite-sd and hd). Normally, the HDMI options is grayed out and uses the default Auto option; but in composite-hd, my old TV mode (connected by SCART) turns black, but can still use the menu on the screen before the DMA and am able to change the HDMI settings, like 480 720 (if I remember correctly) and 1080 p (progressive format) and 1080i (interlaced). I hoped a solution here, but maybe it's just not my day.

    Then.

Y at - there anyone out there that can help me to get a picture on the monitor? Whether vga or dvi - d... Please...

Your Dell LCD and DMA2200 not being able to understand/sync between them with a direct DVI connection you could try to put a device inbetween them so that your Setup program can work. Try this device, basically, you connect the DMA2200 using RCA cables to the KWorld device and this KWorld device is then connected to your Dell LCD screen.

    See you soon.
