Hello. I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 15 3521 which has a combo Jack

Hello. You can use a microphone stand alone in a combo of Dell. The type of microphone that it accepts is the gender incorporated into a combo helmet (a smart phone). Here is a picture of headphones. Notice that the plug 4 segments instead of the normal 3 segments. It combines the headphones and microphone in a single dose.

If you have a normal mic with seizure of 3 segments, you will need an adapter for use with a Dell combo Jack. The adapter is called Buddy helmet and it looks like this. Notice the segmented 4 plug.

When I try to adjust the brightness of the screen by pressing the Fn key and pressing the up/down arrows, nothing happens. I finally found it to work several months ago. I downloaded Dell Quickset and BIOS update today, but this does not solve the problem. Any constructive suggestion appreciated.

I just tried this and IT WORKED! I don't know how much luck you'll have, but try the Fn key and pressing the up and down arrows while your computer starts. It worked for me. For my Inspiron 1420, I adjusted the brightness, while he was when the screen went black and the words "Microsoft Corporation" above and the Green loading bar going across the screen. That's what I did and I hope it works for you! :)

  • Dell Inspiron 14R 5420 - new keyboard does not

    Hello

A key on the keyboard of my laptop did not work. I checked that it was a problem on the keyboard, so I bought a new. I removed my keyboard before, so I thought that it wasn't a problem. So I installed a new one, everything is ok. Then I turned off my laptop and saw that the keyboard has been aligned, so I moved it a little more. Now both new and old keyboard does not work. The connector looks fine, but I am not a technician. I tried reinstalling the driver, but they don't always work.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you for you time.

    Hi Edivar_f

    Please write to us.

As the old and the new keyboards do not work, looks that the port on the motherboard has gone bad.

Just to doublecheck you can try an external USB keyboard and check how his work.

  • Dell Inspiron 15 (3521) Touch screen replacement help

This past Christmas, I got a Dell Inspiron 15 3521 touchscreen. Recently, I took it to his laptop computer case to find that the screen was cracked. It was not a crack in the external display. If you run your fingers on the screen, it's smooth, but there are visible cracks and a section of the screen that the office does not appear, but only an odd mesh of white and black with some other colors included in the section. I looked up the screen replacements and I found a detailed description on YouTube showing how to replace the display in the Dell Inspiron 15 3521. He was a link in the description of spare parts. That would solve my problem, but I just have a question: my phone is a touch screen and I am not sure if the replacement screen is a touch screen. I want to be able to use my laptop up. If it includes the ability to touch, I want a touch screen replacement. I'll post a link to the site with spare parts. Please respond and tell me whether or not it is tactile. If this isn't the case, please leave a link to a screen touch screen replacement. Please help me on this. I'm the kind of person who will lose sleep if I can't be sure. Here is the link: http://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=category&id=141&subid=428&refine=lcd+screen

Those who aren't touch screens - they are the standard LCD panels.

To change the Panel, you must replace the touchscreen glass and LCD as a unit:

  • Problem with my Audio (DELL Inspiron 15 3521)

Respected by all, I buy all new Dell Inspiron 15 3521 laptop 2 months ago. It was working great. A few days ago, the "Windows updates installed". and then I am facing problem in my Audio. When I start my laptop, within 5 minutes the sound stop working without giving me any message. When I disable Audio and activate again "Device Manager", he began to work, and then it works until the computer is turned off again. When I shut down my laptop and restart. the same problem occurs. I re - install Audio driver, but the problem persists. Please help me in this regard.

    Thank you

There was a recent update of Windows that causes havoc widespread with audio. I suggest you try the solutions for this first before trying other things. Here are the 2 solutions the members of the forum have reported so far.

    ===========================================================================

    1ST SOLUTION POSSIBLE
Countiss Forum member wrote that it is because of Microsoft...

"KB2962407 update, stipulating that she fixed"Shortcut autonomy when an inactive audio device is not turned off on a computer running Windows". ".
You don't have to do a restore of the system to get rid of updates; easier to go to Windows Update, view update history. On the top of this screen, click installed updates. "Then comes the with button the update you want to uninstall."

    =============================================================================

    2ND SOLUTION POSSIBLE
Natakuc4 forum Member says update to Windows 8.1 will fix it. He wrote:

"Ii you still on Windows 8.0." You should switch from 8.0 to 8.1 Windows Windows. See the instructions here:
    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-Microsoft-Windows-and-Office/Download-Microsoft-Windows/upgrading-to-Windows-8-1-from-Windows-8-0-via-the-Microsoft-store/
Uninstall the audio and video drivers before the update. After the update, uninstall the network drivers and chipset and get drivers Windows 8.1 (WB64A).. »

You can get the drivers that he mentions, either from the support page for your model once you select 8.1 as the operating system in the area of selection, or you can get the Dell ftp server, where they are named 'WB64A' and 'WB32A', which means 8.1 64 bit and 32 bit.

  • How to install a graphics card in Dell Inspiron 15 3521

Hello, a few days before I brought a new laptop which is a Dell Inspiron 15R 3521. Its specifications are all good except its GPU which is Intel HD 3000 graphics. I like to play the games and other HD video, but when I try so the computer becomes slow and I can see a graphical Corruption on the screen. So I want to get rid of this 3000 HD and install A NVIDIA Geforce GT 630 M 2 GB GDDR3 GPU.

So my question is who is there any way so that I can replace my 3000 HD and install a GT 630 M? If yes how?

Please help me, thank you... :)

    Hi Narayan Chatterjee,

Dell Inspiron 15R 3521 is delivered with the following "graphics cards":

    • Graphics Intel HD 4000.
    • AMD Radeon HD 7670M.
    • AMD Radeon HD M 8730.

The 'graphics card' system is integrated on the motherboard. If you want to update, an entire motherboard swap is required as well as a few minor as heatsink thermal, thermal components, etc.

You can contact Dell sales team in your area and order a replacement with the enhanced graphics card motherboard. You can check the manual from the link http://bit.ly/YIjAT3 for the guidelines on the replacement of components on the system.

Note: Please follow the safety information on the manual before replacing any component.

If you are in the USA, you can contact our Department of spare parts and accessories on 1-800-357-3355. Please see the link for more information http://dell.to/YYkrcU. • What laptop to buy dell inspiron 15 3521 or 15 3542?

Hello! I am a student and I am planning to buy a new laptop for my regular use.

I'm confused to choose between Dell inspiron 15 3521 and Dell inspiron 3542.

I know that inspiron 3521 is an and 3542 old product is a new version, but I am impressed by the performance of the battery and the reliability of the inspiron 3521. But I'm skeptical if 3521 will have the warranty and support both as the same as 3542?

and I found a very few differences between the processors, they have either 3rd gen i3-227u and 4th gen i3-4005u. And windows 8 can be upgraded to 8.1 for free.

the main reason I am leaning towards 3521 is design and reliability and there 65WH battery were as 3542 is well-bulky and 40Wh battery.

Please offer me to choose between these two laptops. And I would like to know if the warranty will be the same for both products?

    Hi harrish.1992a,

It seems that the 3521 is always available on the website of Dell India. The warranty is indicated under the pc as to how much time it is available. The two models seem to offer the same guarantee. You can always call and ask questions about the extended warranty.

  • Dell Inspiron 15 3521 graphics card

I just bought a Dell Inspiron 15 3521, that contains the following components:

    -CPU: i3-3227U @ 1.90 GHz + Intel HD Graphics 4000

    -RAM: 4 GB @ 1600 frequency

    - AMD Radeon HD M 8730.

The laptop came with Ubuntu 12 and I formatted everything; After that, I installed Ultimate SP1 Windows 7 x 64.

Because I got no CD / DVD with its pilots, I downloaded them via the Dell Support site (choose my specific category) and with a pilot program; First, I installed Intel HD Graphics 4000 and then I restart the laptop. She has worked, good graphics. The latest driver I installed, dell support ( http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/Product/inspiron-15-3521 - I chose Windows 7 x 64), AMD Radeon HD M 8730 that contains this description:

This package provides the AMD Radeon HD M 8730 graphics driver and is supported on Inspiron 3 x 21 and 5 x 21 and Vostro 2521 running the following Windows operating systems: Windows 7 and Windows 8.

After I reboot the laptop, when the office was released, the Office had a problem: (flashed) blinked quickly; I tried thousands of possibilities (uninstall it, download it again, uninstall Intel HD Graphics 4000 and first install AMD Radeon HD M 8730 and after that, reinstall the Intel graphics card; I tried a different version of the AMD Radeon graphics driver and no way).

    What should I do?

In fact, the problem came from Intel HD Graphics 4000; If I install the latest driver for this material, part, it won't work (I'm still having this problem with the display flashing); But if I install a version more old Intel HD Graphics 4000 and after that I install AMD Radeon 8730 M driver, it works... Why is this?

  • Linux Mint on Dell Inspiron 13 3521?

    Hi all!

I bought 3521 Dell Inspiron notebook with Intel Pentium Dual Core 2127U with HD VGA, Ivy Bridge, Intel HM76 Express, 4 GB of RAM DDR3, 500 GB of HDD, Intel® HD graphics last week.

It was pre-installed Ubuntu 12.04 oem on it and works perfectly. However, as the person who will use it has used to Win XP and Win 7 I think installing Linux Mint would be a better choice for her and I did. Unfortunately, LM 13 does not work by itself, I have graphics problems causing problem and make non-functional system and it of course because it lacks drivers included in the oem version of Ubuntu. I restored back oem Ubuntu but I wonder if there is a chance that I can get LM works on this laptop or I'm stuck with Ubuntu for good? Is it perhaps an oem version of LM for this laptop available or could we somehow build it using the drivers included on the Ubuntu Dell restore disc and exactly how can you remove it?

13 LM is equivalent to Ubuntu, but you will probably need to update the stack of materiel support yourself.

    More information here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack

The version of Ubuntu, delivered with your laptop is probably already set up with the battery on the right. Otherwise, there is no reason why Mint would not work while Ubuntu would.

Another option is to use the latest version of Linux Mint (with cinnamon 2.0 which is a huge improvement).

  • No microphone on Dell Inspiron 15 3521

Hey, I have the Inspiron 15 3521 with windows 8.1 and it does not recognize the internal mic.

For example when I go to the "speech recognition" and press "Set Up Microphone" I get 3 Options "Micro helmet", 'Desktop Microphone' and 'Other' rather than their work.

I tried to reinstall the drivers and updating the system but nothing works.

    Help, please.

Hi.I recently came across this problem. In my case, there was a small piece of rubber protecting the mic only slightly slipped and was covering the microphone. Just lift the cover from the top of the screen and remove the rubber or paste it again into the correct position. It is located to the left of the webcam.

  • external MIC does not

recently bought a zalman zm-mic1 mic for my laptop dell xps15 l521x and when I plug to the headphone jack (headphones not) we can see that it has been plugged, but doesn't recognize it anywhere. I've been in the settings and it is not seen. even if I click on "Show disabled devices" he does not appear. How can I fix?

The L521x model has a regular headphone jack more taking combo of the variety "smart phone." These combined plugs work with another ordinary or 'smart phone' helmet headsets, the kind that combine the headphones and the microphone in a single segmented plug 4 instead of taking 3 normal segment. They do not work with regular plugs mic because these cards do not mate correctly and does not work with devices on line because the entry of jack combo isn't only mono, stereo.

Here is a picture of a smart phone headset that works with a combo Jack. Notice the segmented 4 plug.

You can do a regular mic or headphones ordinary wodk in decision-making by getting an adapter. Here is a screenshot of a boyfriend of helmet called:

There is another headset buddy adapter that looks like but that is the wrong kind in the screen below.

  • __Upgrading for Vista Ultimate - Dell Inspiron 1420 can't restart and not sound

I just upgraded from Vista Home to Vista Ultmate and my Dell Inspiron reboot correctly... remember to come by saying she does not restart... gives me a lot of options (safe mode,..., normally).  The only way to get it to start is to force a complete power down (holding the button power for 10 seconds) and then try to restart about 3 or 4 times.  Very weird.

  • Line-In does not detect audio microphone?

I recently got a new headset, Razer Pro Kraken, and the line does not detect my microphone, I need because I use Skype. I checked and there the audio turned up completely, and I know for sure that the plugs are correct. What should I do to fix this? I am on Windows 7, if it helps.

And also - I can hear the audio, the microphone right pick up. And I know that he is not a defective product, because I had this problem with previous helmets in the past.

Hello. Your laptop is an Alienware M14x? Have you tried to reinstall the Realtek audio driver?

Reinstalling the audio driver will restore the default audio settings. On many models by default is for line-in (off mic amp) then you may need to select again for a microphone and set the mic boost levels.

I would check the settings both on the recording of the sound Properties tab (right-click on the audio icon and click recording devices, right-click on the microphone and set as the default, right-click the microphone, and then click Properties device, then the levels tab to set the push) and also the microphone of the Realtek Audio Manager tab. I would test the microphone using Windows Sound Recorder instead of Skype.
