  I have a laptop dell inspiron 14R/14 touch screen. I bought recently. It came with windows 8, and I have upgraded to windows 8.1.   Hello, a few days before I brought a new laptop which is a Dell Inspiron 15R 3521. Its specifications are all good except its GPU which is Intel HD 3000 graphics. I like to play the games and other HD video, but when I try so the computer becomes slow and I can see a graphical Corruption on the screen. So I want to get rid of this 3000 HD and install A NVIDIA Geforce GT 630 M 2 GB GDDR3 GPU.

  So my question is who is there any way so that I can replace my 3000 HD and install a GT 630 M? If yes how?

  • Graphics Intel HD 4000.
  • AMD Radeon HD 7670M.
  • AMD Radeon HD M 8730.

  I bought 3521 Dell Inspiron notebook with Intel Pentium Dual Core 2127U with HD VGA, Ivy Bridge, Intel HM76 Express, 4 GB of RAM DDR3, 500 GB of HDD, Intel® HD graphics last week.

  It was pre-installed Ubuntu 12.04 oem on it and works perfectly. However, as the person who will use it has used to Win XP and Win 7 I think installing Linux Mint would be a better choice for her and I did. Unfortunately, LM 13 does not work by itself, I have graphics problems causing problem and make non-functional system and it of course because it lacks drivers included in the oem version of Ubuntu. I restored back oem Ubuntu but I wonder if there is a chance that I can get LM works on this laptop or I'm stuck with Ubuntu for good? Is it perhaps an oem version of LM for this laptop available or could we somehow build it using the drivers included on the Ubuntu Dell restore disc and exactly how can you remove it?

  The version of Ubuntu, delivered with your laptop is probably already set up with the battery on the right. Otherwise, there is no reason why Mint would not work while Ubuntu would.

  Another option is to use the latest version of Linux Mint (with cinnamon 2.0 which is a huge improvement).

  Hello all, first post here but I have been a regular guest for a long time. This forum has been a great help! I searched through the forum for an answer, but the information was confusing and contradictory, so I thought I would ask here.

  The screen on my ASPIRE V5-571P-6604 is cracked. There is a right diagonal cut 3 inches on it as if someone he sliced with a knife. I am still able to see everything on the screen, but the touch function is lost, so I need to replace. I looked online but I don't know exactly what are the parts I need. There are ads for the screen and then the digitizer and then the bezel and then maybe other things. Is someone can you please tell me exactly what I need to buy to replace this screen so that the crack is a party and the touch function is restored?

• MY DELL INSPIRON 15 3521 BRIGHTNESS CONTROL QUESTION

  When I bought my DELL 3521 a few weeks ago, that came with OS Ubuntu, I remember the brightness of the screen is adjustable using the Fn keys (F4 / F5).

  Since I installed Win7 a few days back the brightness of the screen remain very dull (maybe the lowest setting), that doesn't bother me for my day to day work. But for my photo and graphic work, this intensity is far from satisfactory.

  I have checked the internet on it and seen a lot of you also share the same experience. I did almost all of the advice given in it and since there was no improvement, I downloaded all the drivers on the official DELL site for Win7 and install.  Then something happened, it's now, I could see the brightness and the volume of the control on-screen icons or symbols.  Incindentally control of its (speaker) works very well (Fn/F10/F11/F12), while the screen brightness indication appears without any response to the keys (in fact, it indicates the maximum brightness in the scale, and when I try to reduce the scale reduced by point/scale and rest and not move any further).  However, there is no change in the brightness of the screen, which as I have already said, is low.

  I have not yet decided to contact the dealer on this issue which might be a small question perhaps, that I am lying to reconcile with yet.

  I don't know how to solve this problem. Is this a technical problem or a manufacturing defect? Could someone help me please. Must be very grateful.
