One of the clients in another office has notifications that Windows is not genuine.
It is a Dell Optiplex with Windows 7 pre-installed pro.
Have you tried to rename token.dat to no avail, have no version of work in previous versions, either.

My dell optiplex 740 will not start.  The screen is black, once it displays the Dell logo.  It does not say that the computer is in mode 'sleep'.

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?
    3. You receive an error message?

    Method 1

See the articles below and check if it helps.

Computer stops responding with a black screen when you start Windows XP

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314503

After the Windows Logo appears or after you log in to Windows, a Windows XP computer cannot display the wallpaper, a black screen or a blue screen

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/318027

    Method 2

I suggest that you start the computer in the last good known Configuration mode and safe mode, post back with the result.

A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

How to fix a computer that does not start

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-XP/help/Setup/how-to-fix-computer-that-will-not-start

    Method 3

If the computer can boot in any mode, then I suggest that you perform the clean boot procedure and check if it helps.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

REMOVED FROM WINDOWS VISTA AND NOT GENUINE WINDOWS 7 INSTALLED

    Hello

What is the best way to go to solve the following problem? My brother downloaded a non-genuine version of windows 7 to Utorrents. My laptop had Vista originally. I can't find any trace of Vista anywhere, and now it's a problem when I set up my wireless internet connection.

Have to buy an upgrade to a real windows 7 or what? Vista is obv not terrible as it sounds. Just want a normal work :) laptop

    Thanks for your help

    Mike

In this case, you have two options.

    (1) buy a copy of the full details of which edition of WIndows 7 that you want to use (this one sounds, basic home edition can be sufficient - if not, Home Premium) and reformat/reinstall using them.

    (2) buy an edition upgrade of WIndows 7 for which edition you want AND get the discs of recovery of the manufacturer - reinstall Vista and then upgrade to WIndows 7.

    (3) - ONLY possible if the COA sticker is present and correct for a qualifying operating system (that would be) - buy a complete upgrade to Win 7, and use double-install method to install it clean.

  • (For Microsoft employees) Apologies for not genuine Windows 7 Ultimate

I have a laptop with Windows 7 Home Basic pre installed, it was authentic 100%. At that time I was 12, I don't know what Windows Anytime Upgrade (I don't know about the authentic software, pirate, crack, serial, k product key, etc because I was 12). I entered, and there was a lot of function of the new Windows 7 (Home Premium, professional, ultimate). I tried the product key for Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade (just try, you know about the time that was my first laptop...), I found it on a website, not a keygen, crack or hack, it is only the serial number. I try to enter the upgrade key Windows 7 Ultimate for Windows Anytime Upgrade. First of all, the upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate cancelled because the series was not valid. So, I canceled it.

Suddenly, when I restart my pc, it is automatically upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate! It's weird! I waited and my PC has become Windows 7 Ultimate... I used the Windows Update, and it is perfectly works like a charm! I did not know why the non-genuine Windows 7 Ultimate could not detected as not authentic, I used it for almost 2 years as a truly authentic Windows, no window pop up, no warning non-genuine, it's like the real genuine Windows.

When I was 15, I recently know that no authentic (cracked, steal the serial number) is an action contrary to the law, 'hurt' Microsoft Corporation and the true owner series I entered... I feel guilty...

"I apologize (very apology) for Microsoft Corporation and all employees of Microsoft, especially under Windows, because I use non-genuine Windows 7 Ultimate edition (upgrade of Windows 7 Edition family Basic)." I don't know anything at this moment here because I was still 12. »

Now, I have to my WIndows 7 Home Basic with the product under the laptop key... But, the problem is, I get the Windows 7 Home Basic, Windows 7 Ultimate edition not authentic, I downloaded it on the third party site, it's 100% clean official Installer for Windows (not cracked, hacked, or more). I created the bootable USB and installed on the laptop.

My question... Is my Windows 7 Home Basic (now has been updated 10 Windows entitled Digital Home) become non-genuine (in religion: illegal, prohibited, illegal) because I have no money to buy the actual key Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade... I'm really very sorry...

Please accept my apologies to Microsoft Corporation and need your advice for me...

    Thank you

Because you have restored the authentic Windows 7 Home Edition basic and upgraded to Windows 10 Home, you are now in compliance. Nothing to worry.

Click Start > settings > update & security > Activation

If it says that Windows is activated, then fine.

  • Build 7601 a copy not genuine Windows. Problem is that it is

I have a problem. I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 computer laptop I've had for a good 2 years now since March. It came with Windows 7, and I know that it is authentic, because he never had the message at the bottom right. However, today, a message saying "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine", but it is! What should I do? Excuse if this is in the wrong topic, I don't know where it goes into the subject.

Well, I did said the comment. The analysis said that. I hope that I copied it correctly.

  • All of a sudden not authentic Windows 7 prof

I received a computer laptop gateway by my brother in law in last November. It worked perfect until a month ago, when suddenly the screen went black and a message appeared in the corner saying windows was not authentic. I ran virus/malware and it comes up with nothing. I don't understand why it isn't authentic all of a sudden. last week he began to have greater problems; super slow, refusing to open the system recovery, open new downloads and won't let me not sign as an administrator. my brother-in-law would never give me a pirated version, and it was fine for months then I don't understand what went wrong. There must be malicious software that is not be picked up by the scan, but I can't try to disassemble anything because it now cannot me access to recovery, or important files. Help!

Wallpaper is red and is now black.

    Everything still works?

    However, he now says:

Windows Vista TM, Build 6002, this copy of Windows is not genuine.

    It is authentic!

When I check the updates - everything is ok. Suggestions, please?

Windows Vista - Home Premium Edition (x 32) Service Pack 2

    Best regards, John

    You are welcome.

The MGADiag tool has few healing abilities and simply in the performer can solve some problems.  However, this isn't the most common result, but of course it happens.  If the error is returned, post a new report MGADiag in forum Windows Vista Validation

    http://social.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/genuinevista/threads

Discord between resource programs at the same time that Windows performs a periodic validation control can also cause a temporary non-genuine opinion.

  • Message on the screen "not genuine Windows 7' then 'join HP Smart adapter.

HP laptop, less than a year, running Windows 7, 64. These messages appeared on my desktop saying "" Windows is not genuine, Build 7601' and ' attach a smart adapter HP for maximum performance "."  I called HP, computer out of warranty is an extra cost, probably a virus.  I have 'Complete Care Protection Plan' of Staples - they do not solve the problems of virus free of charge, but he told me to start safe mode and run my virus program (Norton) and it should show if it's a virus.  I did that, he didin't show a virus.  I had a "Chat" online with Norton, he said, it is not a virus.  Maybe an update has not loaded right.  He gave me a phone number for Microsoft.  Out of warranty, I called extra charges.  I checked my "Updates" and found three that failed to download, so I downloaded them successfully.  Keep the messages.  The brightness of the screen changes also sometimes when I start so I must correct via the control panel and it sometimes takes forever to send an e-mail, especially with photos.  Is it possible to fix this without having to spend another $200,00?

    Thanks for the research.

    Hello 506,

I see that you have problems with some error messages on Windows 7. I have some suggestions that can help with this question.

Here is a link to a Microsoft Web page that has a download that may fix the real problem. Let me know if it helps.

  • Impossible to get Dell Optiplex 9010 to start using Windows 7 DVD

    Hello

I recently bought a new Dell Optiplex 9010 and I tried to re install the OS by partitioning the disk into two discs.  Optiplex 9010 is unfortunately not booting with DVD player. I activated the boot sequence in the WOODS at DVD, USB and hard drive, but still the same issue.

Called dell customer service and they sent a new Win7 DVD and her we had the same problem, I'm lying to start with DVD player.

    Hi santoshmanya,

Please start on the F12 menu and select the option to boot from the DVD drive.

If this does not work, start with the BIOS and disable all options other start the DVD player and just keep trying.

  • Dell Optiplex FX170 showing not

I have a Dell Optiplex FX170, (which is a thin client) and I'm trying to get it to display on a VGA monitor. On the sheet it says THAT VGA is supported with the included adapter, however I do not have the adapter and I tried two different third-party adapters

One of them looks like a DVI - I dual link to VGA:
    http://ImageShack.com/a/img829/1272/F9DA.jpg

    The other fact:
    http://ImageShack.com/a/img36/4626/wwe0.jpg

Two adapters do not work. I also tried on a different acer monitor and it displays the error unsupported entry. The Dell adapter works with her and not third-party ones?
  • This copy of windows is not genuine Windows 7 build 7601 sp1 professional

So after the correction of my sound card I reboot and a few seconds later, I see the watermark this copy of windows is not genuine

I lance malware bytes detected no malware or rootkits so I run AdwCleaner first no scan no adware, but he did find some registrys with remainders of Iomega who opened his page when I start internet explore and when I updated windows defender detected and proposed to remove it and I remove but does not solve the problem. Computer alienware r4 17 x loseing the sound driver problem and the solutions are not perminite and the normal solution which involves disableing / uninstall High Definition Audio Controller then close the laptop lid sleep, open cover the screen normally solves the problem, but it didn't, so I press the switch which switches between integrated and discrete graphics restarted in not integrated any noise then started in SafeMode saw some uninstalled audio peripheral Microsoft restarted solve the sound, but this copy of windows is not genuine appeared.

I might need to enter the key on which is located on the battery (but how when I can not change the key)

    I also have a recovery disk (that came with the computer) which can reinstall windows 7 {last resort}
Before you say it could be due to an update of windows, but I do not run updates unless necessary [Yes that would make my computer windows more vlurnerable but I can't have a update to mess up the computer which it is once]

I am at a loss of what to do next might have to reinstall windows...

First, install the latest Windows updates. I noticed that your installation is Windows 7 Service Pack 1 RTM - 7601.win7sp1_rtm.101119 - 1850.

    http://www.groovypost.com/howto/install-Windows-7-rollup-update-Service-Pack-1/

See if you are able to change the product key.

If this is not the case, try the following:

    Click Start, type: CMD

    Right-click on CMD

    Click on run as administrator

At the command prompt, type the following commands:

slmgr.vbs - ipk xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx (to replace the specified in the current product key)

xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx - represents your product key

    Press enter on your keyboard

    Leave the command prompt

    Restart your computer

    Try again activate by phone.
