Upgrade memory Dell PowerEdge T610?

Hi, I have a T610 with 8 GB (4 x 2G 2Rx8 PC3-8500R). I would put more than 8 GB, (4 x PC3-10600R 2 G 2Rx8). Works? What is the best setting?

[of]

Hello.

How many processors you have installed?  There are several guidelines of population of memory including memory on all channels balanced for optimal performance.

For a single processor, you will only be able to use six modules because of this limitation, where:

A1, A4, A2A5, A3A6: 2GB with capacity of 12 GB total memory

For the two processors:

A1A4, A2A5 & B1B4, B2B5: 2GB gives the ability of memory of 16 GB. I advise to use strips of memory ability higher such as 4 GB, 8 GB, or even 16 GB because they offer memory expansion more and robust.

  • Dell PowerEdge T610 and ESXi 4.0 integrated

    Hello world

My company has just purchased a new Dell PowerEdge T610 as our first server VM. They bought exactly the same configuration that Dell recommended for virtualization, which came with an option to get the ESXi 4.0 embedded. By charging Dell about $ 2000 for the premium service when buying the ESXi, society has decided that we will install ESXi embedded ourselves (on a SD card or USB key).

And so the task was given to me

Now, here's the problem I encounter. I downloaded the ESXi 4.0 installable with customization of Dell, and it seems to work fine on a USB key. But I can't find the instructions on how to actually install the embedded and non ESXi 4.0 installable version. I have ESXi 4.0 installable on the stick, but how do I get the embedded installed on it (or SD card). I see that people have done with ESXi 3.5, but all it seems to be there on the net about installing ESXi embedded yourself is only how to install the installable on the USB. It's a stupid, and built-in question is nothing more then a installable on a USB?

    Sorry for a newbie question...

Thank you very much in advance!

    André

integrated, installable should be the same, the difference is that with the integrated option you would not need to install

  • Update memory Dell Poweredge R510

    Hello.

There are two Dell Poweredge R510 servers with the following configuration:

    CPU: Intel Xeon X 5675 (3.06 GHz, 6 C, 12 Mb cache)

    Additional CPU: Intel Xeon X 5675 (3.06 GHz, 6 C, 12 Mb cache)

64 GB of RAM by 2CPU (LV double rank of 8 x 8 GB RDIMMS) 1333 MHz

We want to upgrade servers with 128 GB of RAM.

What is the most appropriate way to do it?

Can I order 8 modules with 16 GB of RAM and replace?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Enzorik,

You can order and use the 16 GB DIMMs in the R510. You can see the directives of the population by proc on page 117 of the guide, located here. Before the memory upgrade, however, you must be certain that you have the server to update BIOS, Drac, lifecycle controllerand Raid Controller. This is to ensure that the server remains stable.

Let me know if that answers your question.

  • Upgrade memory Dell Dimension 9150

    Hello

I'm looking to upgrade memory RAM on my Dell Dimension 9150 Dual Core (DXP051) clocked at 2.8 GHZ with 1 GB of ram. Motherboard is Dell 0YC523. IGB memory currently.

Watching the RAM is OCZ Enhanced latency Platinum XTC Edition revision 2 with speed 800 Mhz - CL4 (4-4-4-15) latency. 2 GB

OCZ recommendation is to increase the volatge of ram to 2.1V on the BIOS but I don't think that this is possible on the Dell motherboard.

Previousposts research, someone also asked a similar question but for an XPS 720 PC.

The solution suggested something about SLI or EPP ready... I'm not sure what it means. This means that the RAM must be SLI or EPP ready to be compatible with the motherboard of Dimension I or the mothersboard must be ready for use of these modules of memory SLIp/PPE? Can I use this module and if so, how do I change the voltage or the motherboard will adjust it automatically?

If not, can I get some other RAM?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Dell PowerEdge T610 (memory upgrade)

I bought Dell 16 GB certified replacement Memory Module for select Dell - 2Rx4 1333 MHz RDIMMS LV systems

Currently, I have 8 GB of RAM (1 GB on every slot machines). After I installed this new memory and restart the server, it shows invalid memory configuration. So, I changed the memory setting in BIOS 'Advanced ECC' to 'optimize memory '. But it detects more than my current speed of the memory is 8 GB. Is there something wrong with the configuration of the memory? I tried to re - establish the new RAM.

    Help, please. Thank you.

    Hello.

Your memory configuration is not valid because the channel memory CH0, is not balanced with channels CH1 & CH2. Refer to the schematic illustration below:

In order to balance the memory on these channels, we should have memory DIMM in:

A1, A2 & A3 = B1, B2 & B3 in addition also A4, A5 & A6 is B4, B5 & B6. That's why CH0, CH1 & CH2 memory modules must be identical for the performance and optimal memory configuration. Depending on the upgrade amount of memory you are looking for, you can buy 1 more 16 GB DIMMS and then fill in slots A1 B1 & offer a total capacity of 32 GB. This will provide more flexibility for future memory upgrade

Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Upgrade memory Dell R710

    Hello

For r710 Server I bought a kit of memory: 2 pieces of 8 GB.

The current Ram configuration is 4 modules of 2 GB each.

the server is dual CPU, so the memory are in A1, A2 and B1 B2.

could you please help how to organize to DIMM, so it can walk with each of them.

Separately, it works but not together, and I tried different configurations.

    Thank you

When mix you them, the server turns on and cross the message "Memory Configuration"? If the system is able to bypass any configuration problem he would then invite accurately (such as available memory can be reduced, cannot put X in X slots etc.).

Make sure that your BIOS is up to date (6.4.0) for memory support more up-to-date. If you need to update the update of the BIOS of the controller of life cycle and thus if necessary iDRAC. The standard Dell support answer is that these three elements must be on the current versions.

If it works with the 2x8Gb and 4x2Gb separately, make sure that you try not not mix registered and ECC Registered memory. If the server does not initialize correctly it is likely. Google search to check part numbers.

Check whether the mode of BIOS memory is Optimizer

Put the two 8 GB in A1/B1

    Put four 2 Gb in A2/A3 B2/B3

Let us know how it goes!

Note: This answer is based on my own experience of the R710 and I'm not a member of Dell support, just an end user. Best responses of others may follow.

  • Upgrade memory Dell R410

    Hello world!

    I have Dell R410 2xE5506 6x2Go Hynix DDR3-1066 PC3-8500th non - Reg ECC RAM 2Rx8

Now I need 32 GB of memory. I want to take out the 2 GB memory and put 4x8Go (for example this one).

    Issue.

This memory will work in my server? Confused, low voltage and the manual is written as follows:

Intel Xeon 5600 series also support s Low Voltage DIMM and parsimonious feature (Manual)

    voitsykh
is ok - I have processor e5500 series? It will work with memory low voltage?

Yes, it will work. LV memory is able to operate at 1.35 or 1.5 volts. Since the 5500 series does not support LV memory DIMMs will operate at 1.5V.

    Thank you

  • Update memory Dell Poweredge T410

    Hi all

Recently, I decided to switch my server memory to 28GB.

I just tried to put it in my server and he gave me a warning that the configuration of the memory was not supported.

I started looking on the internet how to put the memory in and I can't find the answer, so I hope you guys can help out me.

What I remember is the following:

    3 x 2R Registered ECC 1066 MHz 4 GB

    2 x 8 GB 2R Registered ECC 1066 MHz

In this server, I installed 2 processors (Intel Xeon E5620)

So far I found out that the configuration of memory on both processors must be identical, so I decided to try again with 2 x 4 and 2 x 8 GB and has always failed.

I tried many configurations but cannot find one that works.

Does anyone know if it is possible to what I want to achieve and if so how?

    Thanks in advance,

    Olivier Smet

Sorry if my English is a bit poor, but I'm from the Netherlands and at the age of 15.

    Hello Olivier

With this memory, there is not a configuration supported with two processors. Memory must be installed in pairs at all least, and then the memory must be identical in both channels. That means the minimum supported memory would be 4 DIMMs matched.

There is a diagnostic configuration where you install only one MEMORY card in every way, but it is designed only for troubleshooting.

    Thank you

  • Dell poweredge R510 128 GB of RAM

    Hello.

I want to upgrade my Dell PowerEdge R510 with 128 GB of RAM.

Can I use the 16 GB of RAM x 8 double row? Like this a broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

Or I need memory command quad rank for my upgrade? And if so, Dell provides this type of RAM?

    Thanks in advance.

    Enzorik,

The 16 GB x 8 DIMM you mentioned here

are indeed certified replacements for the R510. They would be the DIMMs to use.

    I hope this helps.

  • Dell PowerEdge T320 - upgrade memory

    Dear all,

I recently put a server DELL T320 with 64 GB of RAM, I want to add additional memory and would like to know is this server supports 32 GB memory cards. There are now two empty slots in the server and I want to add Two 32 GB cards in them.

    Server model: Dell PowerEdge T320
    Processor: Intel (r) Xeon CPU E5-2407 v2 @ 2.40 GHz
Board of Directors information: 0MK701, Version A01,.

    Chipset: Intel C602

    Current memory: 16 GB x 4 (64 GB total)

Product data sheet says that 32 GB is supported. www.Dell.com/.../PD

Is that no matter what knows the exact part number and make memory which is supported. Please notify.

    Kind regards

    REDA

    Hello.

Yes, the server supports 32 GB memory modules. However, due to the restrictions imposed by the population memory guidelines requiring that balanced memory channels, will need you 3 modules 32 GB and 16 GB 3 modules such as:

    A1, A2, AND A3: 32GB

    A4, A5 & A6: 16GB

Here's the 32GB module part number: SKU # A7916527 & Mfg # SNPF1G9D / 32G. Make sure that your BIOS is up to date.

  • Upgrade memory PowerEdge 2900 III

All 3 poweredge 2900 people use the same type of ram? I have a dell poweredge 2900 III and am looking at an upgrade of ram which is listed as compatible with the first generation, the PC2-5300F. I was wondering if this does not work for my 2900 gen 3.

Also, can someone shed some light on what the maximum capacity of RAM for the 2900 III.

    Thank you guys!

    Hello.

The PC2-5300F which is a fully Buffered DIMM is which was delivered with all the 9th Gen Dell servers and should be compatible across all revisions of 2900. What is the size of the memory you are looking for? In my view, that the maximum RAM capacity on the 2900 III server is 48 GB.

I hope this answers you questions.
