Dell S2340T touch itself, lol!

My S2340T monitor has decided that he does not like the site I am trying to display the game I play or email that I read.  Alone, he decides that I touch the top edge of the screen in the middle.  Sometimes it does, and when that happens, I can't use the computer.  Fortunately, he's constantly even if my fear is this is where it goes.

I use this monitor with a non touchscreen Dell 15R with an i5 chip running Windows 8.1.

Before Windows 8.1 there was an easy way to find the commands to calibrate the monitor, but now I can't find these controls.  It could also be a driver problem?  In any case, I can't find the appropriate program to recalibrate the screen.  And at what cost, I certainly hope that this stupidity is not 'out' on me.

Clues on how to solve this problem?

Thank you!

dbolesny,

The controls are in the operating system itself.

    Martin818,

Yes. You would connect the monitor cable upstream USB to the USB port on the computer. You would then connect the monitor to the computer via DP (DisplayPort) or HDMI. You would then load the driver: http://dell.to/XGHyx7

  • S2340T recording and Volume control

    Dear all,

Hope someone could help me with the couple following elements, as a result of my recent purchase & install a Dell S2340T multi-touch screen:

    1. I am the "habit" of registration of all my products by their respective manufacturers. Apparently however, for Dell products get a seat needs a "Service Tag", and such a label is provided for 27 "or big screens (smaller have only an order # on their packing boxes). So how am I really save this new and VERY expensive monitor of mine with Dell?

    2. I use the S2340T both as a PC to monitor (via the DisplayPort + USB-input connectors) AND as a display of television (via the HDMI connector); then between the two functions is done by selecting the entry in the buttons on the bottom right of the screen. Also, noise produced by the PC is managed by the speakers connected to the soundcard of the PC, while the noise generated by the cable box is managed (via the HDMI connection) by the speakers built into the base of the S2340T. Given the above configuration, here's my question: How can I (at some point) control the VOLUME of the built-in speakers while watching TV (volume / lower / mute), because it seems there is no button on the monitor volume control, and PC (from the keyboard) volume controls affect the speakers connected to the sound card and not integrated in the monitor (despite the USB upstream connection)? Any useful info you could provide on any of the foregoing will be more appreciated.

    Good week end,
    Eric

    Hi Eric,.

I regret to inform you that from now on, there is no hardware to control the volume of the built-in speakers of the wireless monitor. There is a utility software Dell Display Manager, which can be used to control the different functions of the monitor. You can download from here after you have selected the correct version of the operating system installed on your system. However, the utility above can also control the functions from within the operating system of the computer. I'm not sure if this app could be useful that you use the monitor to watch TV via HDMI using a decoder or an external source such as audio-video input.

I want to share that usually when we use the screen to watch TV via HDMI, the TV's features are controlled by the decoder and the monitor receives the signals audio video him. A remote control is provided along - with set-top box to change channels and you should be able to control the volume and mute as well. However, I don't know if the above applies to your situation or not.

Thank you for sharing your point of view on the volume in the monitor controls; appreciate it. Unfortunately, integration from above function via the driver update is not possible because there is a hardware/firmware integration as well.

  • S2340T better than USB (DisplayLink) HDMI?

I had my S2340T monitor for about nine months and have always had problems with it under Windows 7, 8 and 8.1.  Plug into a USB port and use the latest DisplayLink drivers causes artifacts on the screen while scrolling or moving the mouse on the screen.   I have two monitors.  Another one (a HP 2311 x) is connected to a DVI port on my card from Nvidia 260GTX.  There is no problem on this monitor. I wonder if I might have better luck by giving up USB and try to use the S2340T with HDMI.  When I tried, the monitor reports that there is no input signal.  But still, it seems that avoiding DisplayLink entirely is the way to go. All advice is appreciated.

After working with customer support Nvidia for about two weeks on this issue, here is the solution:

The DisplayLink (all versions) driver does not work with the Dell S2340T. You must use HDMI instead of USB. In Device Manager, uninstall the driver under USB DisplayLink graphics cards. You must contact your supplier of the graphics card of a program to check the stability of your graphics card.    I can strongly recommend Nvidia.  I use the GTX 260 card, and the stability test is here. Test your memory with memtest86 first. Finally, please monitor the temperature of your system, especially the CPU, with a tool of the manufacturer of the motherboard. You can't wait for the stability of the system unless your system temperature is within the plug. For reference, I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, the motherboard is ASUS P8Z77-V LX, BIOS is 2204, processor is Intel i5-3550, 16 GB of DDR3 memory.

  • Drivers for dell inspiron 15 3537 windows 8.64 bits

Can anyone please share the link for drivers dell inspiron (15-3537) 8 windows, 64 bit?
But beware that it isn't dell site that my pc is not in warranty so I won't be able to download on their site.

Warranty does not come into action as far as I KNOW when you download the drivers on the manufacturer's website.

Driver downloads are free and can be found here for your device.

An another workaround is a SW named Driver Pack solution that has an installer online that automatically installs all the necessary drivers and can be found here.

But I recommend that you download from the Dell Web site itself

  • How to disable the pinch zoom on the touch screen of Windows 8

I have a windows pc, 8 that is running a photo booth.

When the kiosk software is open pick up the entire screen so that users cannot navigate in windows.
Everything works fine, but in Windows 8, users are able to pinch to zoom it in software.
This is done on the screen touch itself.  There is no mouse / keyboard to the user.
Is there a way to disable the pinch to zoom so that this does not happen on the newsstand?
    Thank you

    Hello

You want to disable the pinch to zoom, we can try to change the following setting:

    (1) go to the control panel

Here is a link to open Control Panel:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/where-is-control-panel

    2) click the mouse

    3) click on device settings

    (4) select the device

    5) click settings

    (6) and then click on turn off pinch zoom.

Try the above steps and see if it works.

  • The touch screen

First of all, let me thank the poster who already helped me to this question in having posted on the tests under Device Info.  My pre in recent weeks has made these 'ghost' hit after I put the phone down or even when I use it.  First I wrote chalked up tasks and screen dirty and sometimes a little software as problem clean often arrested and turning then turn it stopped it.  These random touch screen became more frequent and cleaning or switch it off had little or no impact.  Finally, I read tests on this forum and the touch of the screen test shows that left all of the touch screen does not work.  Had a feeling that it was something like that, because when you do the SMS I was no longer able to hit the sign in lower left to start a new text message.

Guess that it is a defect in the screen and also guess there is very little that will see this question but have to ask if anyone else has?  I say default as the phone is not never dropped or used in any way that an accident could have happened.  Correct me if I have this wrong, but since this is a defect that should be covered by the warranty and no charge?  I live very rural and the nearest the actual repair center is more than an hour away so before you go I would like to know if it's something that happens from time to time and I do not see a home solution.  Have not even that hooked up to my computer again and I bought the day 1 of the version so no backup tips before you go?  BTW am happy with another pre touching itself and launch of things on its own.  Finally, and I don't think it's a fault of the screen, but all the advice on the protection of the screen?

Looks like you need a repair on this unit, and yes that would be covered by the guarantee as described. You must call the 877-426-3777 Palm customer service and to set up a repair or replacement.

  • Photoshop Touch universal application for the Continuum for phones on Windows 10

A few days ago I bought a new 950 Lumia from Microsoft with Windows Mobile 10 which have the peculiarity of 'Continuum for phones' very useful which allow you to use Universal Windows App on a big screen and see them with the same interface they have when they are running on the desktop environment, but the app is still running on your phone.

With Microsoft display Dock (or others of another manufactuer), you can even plug in you USB mass storage devices.

For my work I only need Word, a file browser, a Web browser and an app with levels just like Photoshop Touch of Sophie photo editing.

I already have all the universal App I need, but I'm still missing something like Photoshop Touch and it is not PhotoshopTouch as a universal application on Windows Store (at least with levels).

If Adobe decides to make Photoshop Touch (or something similar) as a universal Windows application, I use only my phone to do anything and it connects on a large screen, mouse and keyboard when I arrive in my office, without need to bring the laptop with me and with the utility to continue my work on the road on my phone because everything is already there with the Continuum without need for multiple devices and a cloud platform to synchronize files on multiple devices.

Y at - there someone here who want a Photoshop Touch Universal App for Windows 10 just like me?

Well, I'd like to get a Surface Pro 4, then I could use Photoshop CC with it.

Photoshop Touch itself was abandoned, but there are already some applications that allow to fill some of the gaps he left behind (like Photoshop Fix and Photoshop Mix). The problem here, is that they are Android and iOS only for now. (I think not that patch has been released for Android yet.)

Find a Solution for Me dealing with video drivers from DisplayLink USB 3.0

Only, I got this error after the purchase of a Dell S2340T touchscreen monitor, which comes with the DisplayLink drivers for video operation single USB 3.0 cable.

I didn't know it was bound and has worked with the support Microsoft in several calls to Xbox Live and the Support of the MS technology product, but finally discovered DisplayLink forum that many users have been seen this problem and get the error 0xc00d11d1 in Video App in Windows 8 when you try to view rented videos.    From 03/06/2013 they do not have a fix taken care for the question (something is related to pixels display problems in the video application itself).   The latest version of these drivers are 7.1 M1 02/01/2013 that still contains the bug causing problems with video App (content, protected by example. rented video playback).

Note DisplayLink drivers are not specific to the Dell S2340T, but used in many single USB3.0 video cable adapters.

    Solution / work around:

Move to a solution of 2 cables for example. HMDI + USB and uninstall all programs displaylink software.  Restart the PC.   I changed the screen in HDMI and green Mode to avoid this automatic forcing install drivers when the display is detected by Windows 8.

Problem solved! I'll monitor the DisplayLink driver updates in the coming months and see if a fix out for it.

    I'm a fool.

I finally realized what is my problem. I have need of the graphics software and core Displaylink.

    I'm not using multiple monitors.

I am running Windows 8 Pro on a nice with a touchscreen of Dell S2340T desktop.

The tactile feature works without the Displaylink software. That's what I didn't know until now.

The Displaylink auto installs when you connect the monitor.

In the last two months I've dealt with Displaylink and Intel driver updates when all I had to uninstall the Displaylink software.

Once I did that, then turned off all processes and services Displaylink, my Win 8 machine works great.

Netflix, Hulu Plus, NBC News app, metro video and music app, photo app and maps... any great running.

No screen flashing, no blue screen...

Wow. And I was about to buy a new 8500 XPS to try to solve this problem.

Please don't call you a fool! It is a confusing area even for an expert.

I'm sure that if you run the S2340T in "Green Mode" (available in the menus) you will not be caused to load our software, but you will also lose out on wired ethernet features - if you have a desktop computer I don't know you have good mother ethernet and you card will not be worried about it.

Once we' worked ved which end of the wire has the bug (and fixed), then you can return to a functioning single, although at that time there, you get concerned about multiple ethernet connections...

All I can help you in your minority situation is two solution drip, wire and occasionally try again and see if it's been fixed (or visit these forums). I think that the S2340T really shines in a multiuse scenario. It's always great as tactile/camera solution for single use, but if you're wired always upward, two sons of data compared to one is not a huge deal.

Just to give, we demonstrated the S2340T many clients on Intel platforms, and problems are usually very soluble.
