Dell U2713H preset sRGB...

Hello to all the forum...

I just bought the monitor U2713H and I have a question (this is my first monitor "expensice" bare in mind). When I select the sRGB preset screen, whites become kind of blue. Is this normal?  This happens to you at all the screens of U2713H? and if so why is it and how can I change it?

Thanks in advance for your time.

sRGB and AdobeRGB are presets factory and precalibre. Return to the factory settings Dell "calls" an AVERAGE error less than a value. AVERAGE by definition could have individual values above and below the AVERAGE value. In your situation is white point value which is off, other units may have other derivatives...

Return to setting factory Dell is nonsense values as 50% OSD brightness, lowering the brightness to 20-30% close of usual values of 120-140cd/m2 could make white point adrift.

> My sRGB mode factory U2413, has a white cooler than D65 (white sRGB).

The range as far as I KNOW and gamma of the modes of calibrated pressure AdobeRGB and sRGB are OK on all models, but drift of white point seems to be very common on thses dells.

Modes of plant in these models of GB - LED are FIXED, no menu service, so white point can ONLY be corrected with the calibration of GPU and lose certain levels of gray. 'S done it smoothly with a graph of AMD or a nvidia Quadro card, otherwise you will get terrible bands.

> Since I have an AMD Radeon I can calibrate sRGB preset to D65 without Visual effects side OSD (dithering done GPU invisible layer blue loss of avaliabble the steps that are required to 'fix' a cooler white point) and without effort (ArgyllCMS).

But these GB - LED models allow the calibration hardware, so if you want a specific mode "sRGB", just buy an i1DisplayPro and calibrate for sRGB CAL1 and CAL2 locations of memory.

> My U2413 is calibrated in CAL2 to gamut sRGB, white D65 and gamma 2.2 (not sRGB gamma since this mode for "Animation"). After the calibration range is OK, shite is OK and gamma (taking into account the inevitable limitations near black with a value of contrast of 800: 1 finished) is OK

  • Some problems with the Dell U2713H monitor profiling

I bought the Dell U2713H monitor.

I can't find a lot of answers for profiling it. Company Dell does not have any instructions on this subject - so I think it's very bad.

For example, I am interested in the following questions:

    I create profiles with ' Solution of Calibration Dell UltraSharp"and i1Display Pro.»

They record the monitor LUT directly, or LUT-video card?

Now I did 4 profiles, but it is not clear what profile using mode CAL1 oder CAL2 my monitor color space?

For example. I made a profile with the color space sRGB, but I did not see it in any mode CAL1, CAL2 oder overall.

Download and install them DA 1.5.3:
    http://www.Dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/DriversDetails?DriverID=VJVPH

Then make sure that yout GPU does not apply "color improvements."

Run DA and select calibration target and slot of calibration HW store. For example:

    -Preset: sRGB, 120cd/m2

ICC - version 2 (a MUST to validate it with 3rd party applications), Bradford or CIECAT02 chromatic adaptation, table function, 400 patches, "calibration 1" profile = CAL1 slot

Once completed, it will ask for a file name, for example, you choose "U2713H_CAL1.icm" and click OK. The profile will be created and set as the default profile for the screen of your operating system Wndows.

Lunge CAL1 has been stored in a LUT3D of calibration of the "sRGB" @ 120cd/m2. In "U2713_CAL1.icm", it is stored:

-a linear LUT (output = input), clealing all calibration in GPU

-actual behavior of range and gamma of OSD CAL1 predefined after calibration.

It goes the same for CAL2.

Don't forget that most applications like Photoshop need color management real mode the monitor OSD to have their good active ICM as a 'default' before opening this color managed application.
For example, if you calibrated CAL2 = AdobeRGB and have a U2713_CAL2.icm, and you want use CAL2 in Photoshop, this profile must be defined as a default value in the OS color management prior to Photoshop.

  • DELL U2713H and MBP mouse/keyboard

Hi all, I have a DELL U2713H monitor connected to my MBP via an HDMI cable. I would like to connect an external keyboard and mouse on the monitor and have these devices to be picked up in the MBP via the HDMI cable. Is this possible?

I want to make sure that I have the fewer things to unplug it when you take my cell phone with me and have the less things to plug in when I get back.

    Thank you!

No! I'm sorry. HDMI is Audio and video. Understand what you're trying to do. A complete Apple wired keyboard would cooperate with a Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad. Or keyboard and mouse/Trackpad Magic.

    Bravo!

  • DELL U2713H Notification sound?

When I pass the monitor/disable Windows gives a recent sound, the same sound notification when a USB device is unplugged. I don't have the USB3.0 cable attached to the monitor, only the cable of the RFP. I have a problem with that is that when I turn off the monitor, it blocks instantly one of my programs running in the background.

What is this notification? and can be turned off somehow?

The DP is using the audio driver from the computer. When you turn off the monitor, the operating system detects that a sound equipment is being switched off and thus you get the notification. This isn't a question of monitor. You must republish the issue on the Forum operating system Council to ask how to get the operating system to not warn you.

  • Dell U2713H - revision A04, which is different from A03?

    Hello

I'm back an A03 monitor to the retailer because of the problem of delivery of the horrible gas with content of high contrast. I'm just curious to know if there was anything done to solve this problem in the A04 because I can't find the revision information about it.

    Thank you.

    BruceKing,

I'm not aware of an A04? A03 corrected a problem with the card/USB port drive. The go-around, do you mean the RTC (response time Compensation) OD (Overdrive)? If Yes, then no. He didn't intend to give the user the option to disable OD.

  • Dell Ultrasharp U2413, adobe and sRGB coverage with geforce classic

    Hello

This monitor has a 99% adobe rgb and 100% Srgb coverage, and is 30 bits.

However, to achieve this 30 bit (3 x 10) mode, you must use a graphics card that allows him, as a quadro. I don't have a Nvidia GTX 760, which is 24 Bits (3 x 8) I guess.

I would like to know how much coverage percentages are down when the monitor is plugged into a card. I would like a precise answer in percent.

Who will help me to know if it is worth for me to invest in such a screen, that I am not able also to change my graphics card in time.

    (1) the same coverage. The number of bits is to locate the 'points' within the gamut.
Put as an example: you have a sheet of A4 paper. It is the range. Then you can draw lines horizontally and vertically every 2 cm (~ 10 bits) and you get a set of intersections (colors) of the line. If you draw lines separated by 3 cm (~ 8-bit), you get less intersection on the same surface.

    (2) the coverage is for the native range (custom or standard OSD mode). Actual coverage for modes of calibrated pressure (sRGB and AdobeRGB) will depend on the quality of factory calibration. Expect the same from any manufacturer of the monitor with the same GBLED panels.

It is the same for the user in LUT3D calibration CAL1 and CAL2. If bought i1DisplayPro and use LUT3D calibration software presets "sRGB" or "AdobeRGB", wait for 99, 9-100% sRGB coverage and 96-99% AdobeRGB for each case.

    (3) with a nvidia gamer will not calibrate correctly in GPU, but LUT3D calibration will work fine. For a proper calibration GOU you need to a gamer AMD (8 bits) or a pro like nv Quadro or AMD over-pants (10-bit) card

  • U2713H desturated adobeRGB color

    Hello Dell Community,

I bought a U2713H monitor, I'm actually using predefined AdobeRGB monitor mode (did not buy colorimeter yet), but in color color managed applications are a quite desaturated, especially in the red channel.

How it is set up: WIN8.1 64, Nvidia 560Ti, cable port DVI, Dell U2713H 6500K.icm color profile for a monitor of windows controls. Monitor Dell defined in "Preset" AdobeRGB OSD.

What it does: Managed as LR, PS color applications and color desaturation shows managed browsers especially in the red channel. In unmanaged applications sRGB, colors look right (compared to other devices of sRGB, that I own), no Supersaturation is present.

If I change a GPU (windows icm profile) in sRGB, all colors managed / nonmanaged match, but I guess there is no shown range only.

If I understand what I have "searched" on the internet, the wide screens gamut should accurate display of color only in managed applications and over-saturating unmanaged ones. It appears the behavior of my monitor is exactly the opposite, specific to nonmanaged, desaturation in managed colors.

Any ideas what could possibly go wrong?

"Dell U2713H 6500K.icm" is a profile for your screen of GB - LED native range. Native range has "spread/saturated red" (OSD modes standard or custom, but they do not have white D65, custom mode maybe with R100 G91, B97).

If you want to use and calibrated modes OSD in the environment of color without a good calibration and measurement management, you must use the standard profile that describes this preset. In your case, it's "AdobeRGB1998.icm" of mode AdobeRGB "sRGB Color Space Profile.icm" (or similar name) os sRGB mode.

If you do not AdobeRGB1998.icm in your system, you can get a free clone in the calibration package ArgyllCMS ("ref" directory):

  • U2713H monitor shows different colors in different applications on my PC

    Hello

I have three monitors U2713H. One is connected to my MAC and poster colours accurately in all applications (photoshop, lightroom, safari, preview browser cs6, iphoto) I open the same photo in all applications.

    THE PROBLEM:
The other two monitors are connected to my PC (windows 8.1) and the colors are the same in photoshop lightroom, the cc and the windows of Viewer photos, but are very different for office, internet Explorer, paint, infinview). It drives me crazy to work with images, then post it on FB for example and they are very different. I put the monitor setting to the same on MAC and PC, why they colors see the correctly on MAC but different on the PC. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Hi yumichan, I read all your documents and answers

Please correct me on each point if I'm wrong and explain why, but to summarize, it is my understanding of all the links and what you said

    1. I get x-rite i1 display pro to my monitor profile

    2. it is year in LUT3D with x-rite

    3. I have to run a calibratoin and set it to Cal1 for cal2 for adobe rgb or srgb

4 use the icc profile of cal 1 srgb to 8.1 windows default device profile and view the profile of conditions, not by default there now which is srgb that accompanies the computer > This will result in IE 11 and office colors better (is IE 11 color chip still like firefox?)

5 define the profile of Dell U2713H name1 to new cust 1, calibrated profile, in the list of icc profiles if I want srgb or cal2 if I want to adobe RGB

You mentioned using adobe rgb, srgb working under adobe RGB?

(6 IN PHOTOSHOP in the color settings, choose sRGB or adobe RGB in the drop-down menu in the workspace (not the profile of the created monitor called cal 1 and cal 2))

Photoshop uses the monitor profile from put me windows under the icc - is that correct profiles in the color management

Once all of this is what makes the setting suitable for dell monitors? :

Manual mode cal1 or cal 2 or do I use the Auto mode and set the cal 1 for photoshop and other image editing software, and what should I put for IE cal 1 srgb or something else?

What is your recommendation in photoshop, to work in adobe RGB and convert to sRGB for the clients and the web? or you just would remain in srgb all the time.

I have these fantasies monitors and to use them to the best of their opportunities and create my workflow just

Your help is very much valued and appreciated, thanks for all your replies until now, and I really hope that my understanding is now more accurate

  • Calibration of the U2713H

Trying to solve the problems of print photo so I decided to get the calibrator Xrite. Run through the calibration process, created a profile. While everything seems to work fine. However, what happens next. I can't find the profile that I created anywhere so I don't see what has changed etc. Looked in the Dell display manager - can we see.  So I'm a little confused as to how this calibration process works and how we apply the new profile. Where can you see which profile is active.

Display of Dell (DDM) Manager has only switch between modes of OSD. Likes to touch the buttons in the monitor physical but easy.

Once a profile is created and activated (in each canibration & profiling program I know) it is stored in the folder of the system color management.
In your case, with Windows, it is stored in:

    C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color\.icm

To switch between profiles of boards (for windows 7, in W8 I think it would be easy for you to search for "Color management"):
    Control Panel-> color management-> devices (tab)-> look for your Dell U2713H ()
The profile marked as the default value is a hace you applied.

Please note that these profiles of Dell-xrite store only the features of the display mode CAL1 and CAL2. If you want to create a traditional profile (calibration in GPU) in Custom, sRGB, AdobeRGB, standard OSD modes with another tool (i1Profiler, ArgyllCMS/DispcalGUI), it would be stored in the same place. However, calibrations of GPU (stored in the tag VCGT in ICM file) may be not properly loaded when enabled in this way: If you change your profile in the control panel and the launch of DispcalGUI and select from the first drop-down list box, VCGT will be loaded correctly in the lut GPU for sure.

  • Windows U2713H, DUCCS, 10

I have a Dell U2713H for which I also bought the calibration tool X-Rite I1-color display for use with the display of Dell and the Dell UltraSharp color calibration Solution Manager.

  • U2713H 'blue box '.

Hi, I recently got the Dell U2713H monitor as a replacement for my 2711 (warranty). For the most part, the U2713H is a great monitor. However, I noticed that when I play a video (be it of "you tube" or one of my personal videos), a pale blue box appears (it is almost always the same size as video.). It varies in size depending on the video, EXCEPT when he's played a video with Windows media player. Then, it covers the entire screen!

A few times the blue box remained even when the video is finished. The only way to get rid of it is to turn on the monitor power on and off. I am running windows 8.

Everyone knows this? If so, is there a solution?

    Thank you.

I had the problem and fixed it by using the menu on the monitor.

Menu > display settings > improve the intelligent video > off

    Hope this works for you.

  • Problem of monitor calibration

It's really more a matter of Dell, but I guess that I have a better chance of getting an answer here I have to do with Dell technical support.

I used an X-Rite i1Display Pro to calibrate my screen XPS1645 laptop, my Dell U2713H and my Cintiq 21UX, using a D65 white point. I want to create a second profile for each display, using a D50 white point. However, the Dell UltraSharp (latest version 1.5.10, in advanced mode) calibration Solution no longer displays a white point with the U2713H option. With the XPS and the Cintiq, no problem, but with the U2713H, the software display settings show primary RGB and Luminance, but no White Point. X-Rite support could not explain it. (Thanks, X-Rite). They suggested that I ask the support of level 3 of Dell. I thought I'd try this first forum. A someone that has met and solved this problem?

You do not have the monitor in a fixed point-to-point white preset, such as sRGB or Adobe RGB? They are the two D65.

When you use a calibrator that the monitor must be in native mode, no emulation. It is usually the predefined 'custom' or something similar.

  • Convert to color profile change

Can someone help me with a problem affecting some AdobeRGB files when I convert it to SRGB? In a very small number of cases when I convert to profile (srgb IEC61966 - 2.1) there is a noticeable change in some vivid reds and Greens; they become much more dull and in some cases, the color actually changes. When this happens it is usually evident in clothes colored like Indian saris. I speak no limits in the srgb color space. After that I worked on Adobe Photoshop (CS6) files in the middle of wide range that I discovered their with my monitor (Dell U2713H) set to emulate the srgb color space, then make any adjustments to Hue/Saturation before converting in profile and save as JPG files with the profiles included for download on the web. In most cases the converted file is the same as the previously converted file, but sometimes there is this color change marked somewhere in the picture. For example, in one case, a turquoise shawl has become a dull blue; in another, a bright green band on a dress became a pale greenish yellow. In the first case when I checked the color data I found that all the Red had been emptied of the stole, making it impossible to do in any still tweaking with mixer or color balance tools to recover the original color. The change is visible in Photoshop, so it has nothing to do with my Viewer. As soon as I click on "convert to profile" is the color.

Is it possible to deal with this problem?

    Bloatt wrote:

Example 1: a sample of a turquoise shawl in a JPG Adobe image has RGB values of 52, 173, 204. If I find the evidence with evidence of the display, option srgb standard Internet, these values do not change (even if the fact of appearance). But when I convert to profile in the Edit menu with defined standard srgb as the Red value destination space goes to 0, while green and blue values remain the same; If I drag the eyedropper across the value in red shawl is 0.

Example 2 is very similar: a green stripe on a dress.  Pre-conversion values 54, 157, 107. After the conversion, the Red value is 0.

In both cases, it's normal. Both these very saturated colors of cyanish are well outside of gamut sRGB and clips of the Red layer to 0.
