Dell XPS 15z 720 p to 1080 p transition L511z

My situation is Im trying to upgrade my lcd 720 p to 1080 p screen, ive made it work with another computer, an hp without problem, I had to replace the display cable and the lcd screen, now I have a XPS 15z (L511z) it has LCD 720 p with resolution resolution: WXGA and LCD cable which belongs to it (part (: N6MMX). I recently bought an LCD 1080 p which belongs to the 15z (L511z) XPS
Now the reason im post this is because I know that the part of screen 720 p is N6MMX but im hoping someone will give me a link from where can I get good lcd (video cable) to the 1080 p or part number

Finally someone has the part number for the LCD 1080 p for the XPS 15z L511z cable?

This screen appears for a Latitude/precision - not the XPS.

Apparently, there are two different, incompatible screens between them to 1080 p used in this system-

B156HW03 V.0

and

B156XW03 V.0

You should probably ask a seller to Dell parts as parts - People.com you need one - it seems that most places sell a full upper set (display, bezel, hinges, cable) for this model - not only the Panel.

  • Dell XPS 15z: "your battery is temporarily disabled. If please shut down your computer and try again when the unit is in the operating temperature"

    Hello

last night, I was working on my laptop, I realize that my battery is low. so I put for loading... after a while, I realized that the battery is 75% charged so that I disconnect it. and my laptop turns off.

the laptop refused more late start... therefore I reconnected it the charger and the laptop turned on with the light that displays the State of charge (white light near the intersection of the keyboard screen) starts to blink in a cycle of 5 times... 4 times orange and 1 white time... and this cycle continues until I use the laptop.

and this message when I go to THE BATTERY option "your battery is temporarily disabled. Please shut down your computer and try again when the unit is in the operating temperature"my cell phone is outta warranty... what should I do? kindly help

    hchentanshankar,

    Welcome to the community.

I am sorry to read that you are experiencing this issue.  The battery is likely guilty, but you should check to see if there are any problems with the laptop or AC adapter / CC before you rush out and replace the battery.

I would start by checking the bios, boot the system by pressing F2 to enter the bios, you can also press F12 and select the bios menu.  Once in the bios look for the option for AC adapter warnings, if they are disabled they can and save the changes. If there is a problem with the adapter, you should start getting errors on the adapter.

If the adapter seems well, disconnect the battery from the system and turn off the laptop.  Wait an hour or two and then replace the battery and restart the system and see if you continue to get the message.   If you can run the laptop on battery only to leave the battery completely and then load it again and see if the problem returns.

I know that this may not be possible before you buy a new battery but if possible try a power adapter and the battery and see if the problem persists.  In this way, you can know if the problem follows the laptop battery or the AC adapter.

Please let me know what you find.

  • XPS 15Z Windows 8 unknown device on PCI Express Root Complex

Hi, I have a Dell XPS 15Z, which I bought off a friend. They have recently updated to Windows 8 and now, that's what I have. But when I go into my sound drivers telling me I have an unknown driver. some online solutions responded to my questions even though some came close. So, here's what I know:

    Unknown device

    Type of device: other devices

    Manufacturer: unknown

Location: on PCI Express Root Complex

    Hardware ID:

    ACPI\VEN_SMO & DEV_8800

    ACPI\SMO8800

    * SMO8800

I don't know if it's related, but my laptop also does not load. I just bought a new AC adapter to replace the one I had, and it is not yet supported. The light flashes red 4 - 5 times and blue/green once. Ive looked online to see what the problem is, but I can't do some of the patches that the computer is at 0% battery.

The hardware ID, it is the free fall sensor:

Buy a Dell XPS 720 H2C with XP in 2008. Last week made a new installation to upgrade to Windows 7 (made by Micro Center). Have tried to get help through Dell... a lost... cause the last time I buy Dell. The audio card is a card OEM, "Driver Creative Labs Sound Blaster X - Fi XtremeMusic (D). Everything else seems to work very well. Diagnosis of device driver shows that everything is OK.

Any ideas where to go from here?

Answer was not helpful, but I appreciate the effort. Found the second site was a bit Advanced for me but looked interesting enough to sue later. Finally chased the problem to map its; called Dell and ordered a replacement. Let's see if that fixes the problem.

  • How can I install my printer model Dell 720 on my new Dell XPS 8500 with windows 7

I have the software for my Dell 720 printer, but it will not install on my new Dell XPS 8500 with windows 7.  It works fine on my Dell Dimension 3000 with windows XP.  I would use this printer with my new system

Dell is not a Windows 7 driver for this printer.  The closest thing they have is a driver for Vista 32 bit.  So your options are to (1) Download 32-bit Vista driver and try to install in compatibility mode, (2) use XP Mode if you have the professional or Enterprise version of Windows 7 Ultimate, (3) buy another printer.

You can download the Vista 32-bit driver

  • How to connect an external monitor to a new Dell XPS 13?

We had two new Dell XPS 13 for users and there seems not to be any video ports as on previous models.  It runs Windows 10 Professional and has a resolution of the internal display of 1920 x 1080.  Looks like there are 2 super speed USB 3.0 ports and possibly a (thunderbolt)? the port?

I've heard of USB - C, so I don't know if it's that this port a port on the left side, or if his crush.  I googled thunderbolt to hdmi adapter and all the images that I find it always shows a port mini display on one end despite descriptions saying Thunderbolt.

So what is the best way to get HDMI out on this laptop?

I just bought an XPS 2016 13 9350 and now know that the only way to connect no matter what monitor what so ever needs a dell docking station or an adapter.  IT HAS NO CABLE THAT CAN BE USED ONLY TO CONNECT THIS LAPTOP TO A MONITOR.

I am working in three offices and the adapter, I had lasted 2 weeks before burning and it was the second.  20% of the forum posters have the same problem using a doc $200 now.  It is $600 for 3 offices, I have been working in if I don't want to carry a doc that is heavier than the laptop!

Who, in their right mind to product management Dell would do a lightweight laptop that had no option to connect a monitor with just a cable.  Why they could not also include a DP or HDMI port or stay until there was a cable is nuts.  It STINKS for us but ideal for Dell they can now sell docs a lot more than ever before.

I asked to return the laptop and get a surface or a lenovo and our IT group is frantically looking at them with more new employees coming on board. No cases were going docs $ 200 dozen. We have been dedicated company dell, but not anymore.

  • What GTX 960 should I use to upgrade my Dell XPS 8900

I recently purchased the following Dell 8900

X 8900-3756BLK Dell XPS desktop (6th generation Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, 2 TB HARD + SSD of 32 GB drive) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745 with 4 GB DDR3

I would like to replace the graphics card (I flight sim a lot) with a GTX 960 4 GB of DDR5 memory card, either myself or have a computer repair place do it.

What are specific cards would be easier to install in my machine - if I get 960 GTX, I see all sorts of cards of different lengths, 1 and 2 fans, etc.

I want to buy the next card, if it must be installed easily...

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 4 GB GDDR5 PCiE graphics cards GV-N960OC-4GD

A new graphics card would be difficult to install myself?   What is involved?

    Thank you

    Steve

The 8900 XPS and 8700 share the same case so if you look in this thread, you will see the cards that match and cut cards requiring a certain case.

    en.Community.Dell.com/.../19611037

I can personally attest to the MSI GTX 970 games 4 GB fits so check the size (length and height) and less it should fit without a problem.

If you can wait a few weeks or perhaps a month, the GTX 1080 seems to be a surprising card to the prize draw and power. It's going to be a little more expensive, but much more capable.

The installation is easy. search for youtube videos and you should find one.

Edit: and you can sell your GTX 745 on ebay and recoup some of the cost.

  • XPS 15z, 10 Windows drivers?

Will there be a Windows 10 for XPS 15z driver support? If this isn't the case, think of it. And please do good, because the drivers for Windows 8 were incomplete and some of them, like Intel HD Graphics, poorly written (blinking at the top of the screen, slow initialization start up screen...), I had to roll back to Windows 7. As the rumors, Windows 7 and 8 users will get free upgrade to Windows 10, so please release Windows 10 drivers. I don't want to miss this opportunity.

Well the warranty service technician Dell phone told me that the odds were 90% that Dell could not be updated drivers for XPS 15z.

  • Dell XPS 13 2015

What happened to the Dell XPS 13, 2013 Core i5-5200U, 128 GB SSD, 8 GB of Ram, not 1920 x 1080 Full HD touchscreen? Why he was pulled off the shelves?

    Hi sinner_93,

Periodic changes of Dell and pc upgrade. This is what is available at this time.

  • Dell XPS 8300 GPU issues

    I had a Dell XPS 8300 since 2011.

    The specifications are:

    Image Intel i7-2600 3.4ghz processor

    460W POWER supply

    8 GB RAM

Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 5670 1 GB GDDR5

My problem is that my video card is dead after 4 years and I need a replacement as good, or better, for less than $100. At first, I thought it was easy. Ordered a GT 730, a card nice entrance a little better than the 5670 range and more efficient power and he went through the installation process. The AMD drivers, uninstalled, change video card and it fits perfectly. The problem is that I just get a black screen on startup or, sometimes, the Dell splash screen.

After hours of research I discovered that this won't work because the motherboard, 0y2mrg and it's bios, A06, are incompatible with the new GPU. Seriously? Rarely have I never heard of this problem. The last update is in 2011, the same year that I got this PC when it was new. What the hell with the lack of support?

Whether it is, I'll find something which is compatible, but unnecessarily difficult. Those who have asked the same question to be taken from a few years ago and expired or no response. I've seen the Dell has approved the cards and they are ridiculously overpriced for what they are. The 5670 is a super card low-end and was again released as a back then, but Dell wants to sell for more than $200? If I try to look for it on other sites, like Amazon or Newegg, it is almost impossible to find or too expensive.

My question is this, what is a good video card that costs more than $100 - $110 that works with the card mother Dell XPS 8300 and requires no other parts to change?

Yes, I actually. The variant 750 GTX & it worked perfectly. I guess that something more old than they would be too much like GTX 780 if you wanted something strong, but you would probably need a bigger power supply. The GT 720 and 730 WON'T WORK if you wanted a less expensive solution. The GTX 750 TI is perfect as a modest solution however.

  • XPS 15z Cypress Trackpad drivers on Windows 10

    Hi all

even if my XPS Dell 15z has not officially tested for Windows 10 and probably never will be tested, I've upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday.

Everything seems pretty fine, with the exception of the (still horrible) Cypress Touchpad.
    This is what happened:

    1. after the upgrade is complete, I found that Windows has installed the Synaptics Touchpad drivers.
    2. my trackpad has worked, with the exception of no multi touch gestures.
    3. I uninstalled all drivers, cleaned the files + registry via CCleaner and restarted every time as needed
    4. I installed the drivers that I learned from this post: en.community.dell.com/.../19579806
    5. I checked if two-finger-scroll has been enabled in the driver configuration utility, checked and unchecked the boxes several times
    6. I tried all kinds of other bug fixes for the infamous Cypress Trackpad in Windows 8 pilot and so on

Overall, nothing is done - in addition to the basic features that the generic driver provides also, I have absolutely no gestures of support. Just the driver doesn't seem to work at all, despite running in the background.

There seems to be similar problems with the Synaptics drivers, just that there seems to be some bugs for her.

I have absolutely no hope that Dell will come out a driver halfway decent for this piece of junk they call a trackpad, but perhaps that other users have an idea on how to solve this problem.

    Greetings

    Chris

PS: I didn't forget, support and usability of this missing trackpad is the main reason stopping me to buy any product Dell anytime soon. It's the kind of thing, what makes people buy MacBooks.

  • Driver Windows 8 downloads XPS 15z (L511z)

I have a XPS 15z. I found drivers for windows8 was released the next day at the Dell driver download center. It's been a few days since drivers are available for download, but download never arrives. I used the provided Download Manager [Akamai] in the support site as well as Internet Download manager but the download does not work.

In the Akamai Download manager, "File not found" error. I am really frustrated to this topic because I intend to switch to Windows8.

This problem is related to the 'Amazon Web Service' recently. What will be the drivers available for download? Their links to spare is available?

All other files seem to be the same for the L511z, the L502x and the L702x

  • Dell XPS 17 702 X flicker of the screen

I read everything I could the varrious formums and installed the drivers as much as I could, Nvida dell old and new, ancient and new, video intel old and new.  Nothing prevents the screen flickering on the battery power.

I had the screen replaced by a dell technician, continues to blink.  The entire computer replaced and it still flashes!

Someone at - it suggestions?  Seems that the pilots have no effect.  The only thing that works is to plug in the power adapter.  On battery, it sparkles.  I also have Nvidia to be all the time as well as the intel integrated video card without change. Technicians dell always change the power setting.  They seem obsessed with setting the screen for maximum performance on the intel integrated and the nvidea with no effect.

Dell wants to send a new motherboard and screen.  I'm getting sick this.  The screen cannot be bad because it works on the current!  When you demand a refund?

I like to keep it if it gets fixed I like it.

I had the same problem of flickering on battery with my Dell XPS 702 X. After installing a new copy of Windows 7 on a new SDS drive with AG Full-HD 1080 p screen, I've updated all my drivers and use the bios A06.  That's when I saw the same problem you are having.  Since I don't see it on the old version, I searched the difference. My solution was to do a right click on the desktop and go to graphic properties and select the Advanced Mode. Click on the power tab, and then select Maximum Performance for both sector and battery.     Given that you have tried this and it did not fix the problem, you can have a bad screen.
