Deployment of E-SRST

Dear friends,

For E-SRST, must I use UMG (Unified Messaging Gateway) or SRST Manager. Somehow, I get confused between these 2 products. Fact sheet and Q & A of the SRST says again we need of UMG, but in Manager SRST Admin guide: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/srst_mgr/rel9_0/admin_gd/config_esrst.html

Somehow I feel little as these 2 having the same use?

Thanks for the help,

Hasan

SRST Manager replaces UMG which is now EOL.

    The way I did is to apply a transformation on the ephone-dn model profile or call-manager-rescue as well as the inbound POTS dial-peer. This has the advantage of consuming less dial-peers similar to how CUCM has only the real DN in E.164 format.

  • The unit & SRST

    UM - unit 4,0000 sr1 CCM 4.0.x Exchange 2003

    Using the distributed model of central call processing mail to reflect the existing Exchange environment, our goal is to deploy SRST to some of our most small (sites<500 users).="" ccms="" will="" be="" accessable="" across="" a="" good="" mpls="">

    In a worst scenario the WAN links go down & phones switch to SRST, I understand that the unity server cannot register with the gateway SRST.

    In this case the server of the unit always answer voicemails & store locally or if it stops completely until the CCM is available again?

    See you soon,.

    NJ.

    Once the WAN link goes down, the unit will soon determine CallManager is unavailable and he's going to cancel all its ports with CallManager. The unit remains running, however you will have no way of contacting the system using a phone. As soon as the WAN link back to the top, the unit will determine CallManager became available and will record all its ports. At this point, you are back where you started, everything should work normally.

  • License pooling in SRST mode?

    Hey people.

    I know there are few features in unity SRST mode, but out of curiosity what is happening to the pooling of the license when a site is in SRST mode?

    See you soon,.

    NJ.

    The unit does not use the aggregated real-time license. Each server writes licenses they have users of FIR and Cisco Unity Inbox and the number they use to their location in the directory object. They all replicate in licenses that other servers contribute to the pool, and their application, then each compute what they believe that the use of licenses to be. That data is all stored in the table systemstate in SQL.

    If for any reason, the license on the purpose of the location data has not been last updated in 60 days that unit it will go the pool. So unless the Wan is down 60 days or if your pool is super tight on user licenses to the point where you are trying to release a license then the Wan is down, you never will probably notice.

    Make sense? My lovely diagram in Chapter 12 of the Solutions Guide and deployment of Cisco Unity could help to give a sense of sharing license. :-)

    Thank you

  • Question on the deployment model

    We have a seat WITH 2 servers UCS. For the moment, it is a centralized call processing. CUCM Pub/Sub and UnityConn Pub/Sub. We bring a branch of NYC and have a few options open to us. (currently we have 1 Server UCS in NYC, but its not used for anything else)

    Considering best practices for deployment, which is better deployment?

    Option # 1: Put THE CUCM subscribed to New York which phones NYC will use to register too, but calls are going out of the gateway to NYC by the PRI. This option will also include a UnityConn PUB in New York and a subscriber of UnityConn in THE sort if the UCS in NYC server goes down, voicemail will be in quantity.

    Option # 2: Complete treatment distributed call, it is its own Site. NYC is its own site with its own CUCM Pub and Pub in unit. Gateway will have SRST for failover and there will be NYC UnityConn Sub in for failover of voicemail

    What are the pros and cons of these options?

    much appreciated, thanks

    How big are the sites, i.e. how many users?

    If you can limit the number of cluster which is still preferred because you don't have to keep 2 separate systems, worry about separate upgrade, parity functionality between users, etc.

    Cluster geographically split as shown in option 1 is always a good idea as long as you can meet the stringent requirements listed SRND, i.e. a latency of less than 80 ms, sufficient bandwidth to DB replication and traffic of ICCS (pretty important), DB bandwidth for UCXN (7 Mbit/s by 50 ports0. It also comes with considerations for your building of CUCM group for redundancy, you local model of 1:1, 2:1, is the backup server to another place, etc, etc.

  • Deploy the Standard Configuration to multiple PCs question

    Currently a problem setting to several Firefox installations deployment. After trying a few methods, it seems that user.js or similar js files is the way to go.

    The user.js file is copied successfully for user profiles, but the settings do not take effect.

    site list = "internaldomain.com,sctwsgateway.internaldomain.com:8080, door of entry: 8080, gateway: 8080.

    Pref ("network.negotiate - auth.delegation - uris", list of sites);

    Pref ("network.automatic - ntlm - auth.allow - no - name FQDN", true);
    Pref ("network.automatic - ntlm - auth.allow - proxies", true);
    Pref ("browser.shell.checkDefaultBrowser", false);

    InternalDomain.com is a substitution for our real estate

    Sorry, I'm not a developer, just a tip Firefox user from 2002 with Phoenix 0.3. I have always used user_pref in user.js. And the original 'bible' for advanced users of Firefox - http://kb.mozillazine.org/User.js_file - shows user_pref as the syntax to use.

    I suspect that pref is appropriate for a single file - https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Enterprise_deployment - as indicated under Configuration mozilla.cfg in this article.

    What I've learned through experience with user.js years is
    With user.js when it is defective or invalid pref Firefox won't read the user.js file possible. above the defective prefs prefs will be read only. Usually you can figure out where Firefox stopped reading the user.js in displaying the prefs.js file in the profile folder. above the defective prefs prefs it will bring to prefs.js, but the faulty pref and those below will not be in the prefs.js file. I ran into that several times over the years where user.js doesn't seem to work or stopped work partially through the file. usually due to typo, I did. but also when there was a major change in Firefox that invalidated or disapproved a pref I used in a previous version.

    Also, what's up?
    site list = "internaldomain.com,sctwsgateway.internaldomain.com:8080, door of entry: 8080, gateway: 8080";

    If it's in your user.js file, in the top - which resembles the defective pref, anything below that would be read.

  • Java Deployment Toolkit

    FF has blocked Flash Player and Java. I've updated all of the two latest versions BUT Java Deployment Toolkit 8.0.510.16 11.51.2.16 is still blocked and may not be active (or apparently being updated). The option 'request to enable' is selected, but does nothing.
    "You cannot UNINSTALL this program because:
    Why I am not able to run the uninstalling of Java and the verification of the Java applet?
    The tool uninstalling of Java and the check Java applet uses the Java DT to make detection of Java version on the user's system. If Java DT is blocked by the browser (such as Firefox) that these applets will not run. In order to run these applets must allow Java DT for run in browsers. »
    https://www.Java.com/en/download/FAQ/deployment_toolkit.XML

    So, there is a Catch 22. He must run himself to uninstall, but it may not. How this can be solved?

    As an additional comment - flash and Java in MS IE - which is considered less safe. Mozilla require people to use a lower quality product.
    Best regards
    Chris

    Thanks for the suggestions theshine and jscher2000.
    Not sure I should just mark this as RESOLVED, given my reluctant IE solution.
    Respectively...
    As noted above, I don't have to uninstall/reinstall Java (confirmed two rural businesses are up-to-date). And my record was recently revised by Ccleaner.
    The FF for Java DT module is set on 'request to activate' but on the page, there is just a circle with a cross and "this plug-in is disabled. Manage to take me plug-ins add-ons "Always enable" page where is grayed out.
    Make a right click on the page does not produce a menu 'page '. But it is visible via, tools, Page Info, permissions - where everything is set by default.
    HOWEVER, with a Oh! While the initial question is always sound/valid, I was be fooled into thinking that the problem (with a page in particular) was Java DT - which, as I can not activate to uninstall. Plug-ins management always seemed to take me to this app that has been highlighted. BUT the real problem with the Flash plug-ins web page disabled. Page once this feature is enabled. Hey ho.

  • Deployment of the CA certificate

    Hello
    I have about 100 jobs and 100 users. I use the SSL certificate to our internal portal (intranet, ecc). The questions of whether SSL certificate by our CA internal. With IE and chrome is very simple to trust the certification authority because IE and chrome use the certificate file Windows CA key thai is very by GPO. Firefox uses its own certificate repository. I read something about cert8.db and on the copy of sorts the file in the user's profile or the Mozilla installation folder... I tried to create a cert8.db and stare it between users, but without success. How can I trust the certification authority in Firefox and deploy easy-to all my users/workstation?
    Thank you very much

  • How to configure firefox for deployment without group policy

    So my search resulted in my understanding there is no group policy for FF. I don't know FrontMotion Firefox, but I want to leave that as a last resort for now.

    I need to find a solution to add a location of CIP to the proxy but also to set the home page. I guess there is a preferences file in a location that I can modify and put all those who have the FF, but I was not able to find it.

    Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thank you!

    Hi JHBPJF, you may refer to the following article to deploy a central settings for your firefox installations file: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences

  • Why Firefox always tell me that it blocks Java Deployment Toolkit after that I did the update?

    On the page Web 'Mozilla - check your Plugins', I was told that the 'Java Deployment Toolkit' was vulnerable. So I did the update. But then, I got the same problem still. Why? And should I care?

    Please see the attached screenshot.

    The most funny thing is... I visited two sites that use Java, being Java.com, but I haven't seen the black banner of the blocking message.

    The Java Deployment Toolkit can be the most recent version, but Oracle has not yet fixed the vulnerabilities with this plugin; so Mozilla still there on the red list and point require the user to use "Request enable" to deactivate it. A 'soft-block' - can be used if needed, but needs user by implementing action.

    More specifically, do you have a program on your PC that is really needed as Deployment Toolkit?
    Or is your concern that simply that it is disabled after update of Java?

    Very few applications consumer even uses this Deployment Toolkit, aimed at people who develop Java applications or applications such as the various Oracle programs in the workplace.

    Back to before Oracle acquired Sun Java systems in 2010, this Deployment Toolkit has not been installed with the runtime environment Java for users. Java developers needed to install a separate developers Toolbox for this Plugin - had the SDK program.

  • I am deploying Firefox ESR and need to know if plugins read the registry can be activated by the force on all computers.

    I'm deploying Firefox ESR 31.X to all the computers in my company. We have plugins for security that I need to have forcibly running on each computer so that users cannot turn it off. The main example is McAfee SiteAdvisor. Firefox detects the plugin based on the HKLM\Software\MozillaPlugins registry key. The plugin provides a path to the location of the DLL in the McAfee program folder. Is it possible that I can put this plugin to always be activated?

    You can use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock the prefs or specify new values (default).

    Put a local file - settings.js in the folder defaults\pref also the file prefs.js - channel where to specify using mozilla.cfg.

    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);

    These functions can be used in the mozilla.cfg file:

    defaultPref();	// set new default value
    pref(); // set pref, allow changes in current session
    lockPref();	// lock pref, disallow changes

    See:

    You must set the pref (s) of plugin.state related to 2 always activate a plugin.

    • lockPref ("plugin.state.npmcffplg", 2);
    • plugin. State (0: never activate; 1: ask to activate; 2: always activate)
  • How to deploy the blocker allowed parameters of sites on multiple computers?

    We run on Win 7 platform with ESR Firefox version 31.4.0. We want to disable the blocker for popups for specific sites. I tried to use FirefoxADM_0.5.9.4 to apply the Group Policy settings, but it does not work. When I look at the file firefox_login.vbs, there is a line mentioning registry parameter FirefoxPopupsWhitelistKey = WshShell.regread("HKCU\Software\Policies\Firefox\FirefoxPopupWhitelist") but I can not find this key on the computer.

    Is that what anyone has experience deploy this type of settings? If this isn't the case, I'm also open to hearing about how to disable the blocker for popups completely.

    If this can be done via Group Policy, please let me know another way I can do this. I read the topic: configuration config, but I found all the settings to disable the context menu.

    Thanks for your help.

    Firefox saves all exceptions to the permissions.sqlite file, so you need to use a SQLite Manager extension or program to modify this database.

    Disable the popup blocker in Firefox would be easier, as it would need only to switch a pref and can be done via a mozilla.cfg file.

    You can use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock the prefs or specify new values (default).

    Put a local file - settings.js in the folder defaults\pref also the file prefs.js - channel where to specify using mozilla.cfg.

    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);

    defaultPref();	// set new default value

  • FireFox | Error / vulnerable. Shockwave Flash 9.0.45.0 and problem Java Deployment Toolkit!

    Intro | Hello I am new to this support Web site for fire fox, never thought I already needed to sign up because most of the time things are going well and if I run into a problem, I can take care of it most of the time by myself.

    If I need a hand I ask some co-working/colleagues/friends or family. But this situation has stunned me. I can't understand what is the problem, at least not exactly.

    Problem | This only happened for a few days and I kinda ignored initially because I was a little busier than usual because of the holidays.

    However I finally had the time to check these errors and I can usually figure things out myself and make things happen in a day, but my mind is hazy right now begin to understand what is happening here.

    Now, according to my research, I have two 2 vulnerable plugins. The Java and Adobe flash. Two of them appear as red alerts.

    • Shockwave Flash 9.0 r45
    • Deploy Script NPRuntime plugin Library for Java (TM)

    ^ These are the culprits who have caused me problems with my recent adobe flash related tasks crashing or getting strange errors.

    The thing I find strange about this is that I also have the latest version and updated to adobe flash installed next to this outdated relic of a forger.

    • Shockwave Flash 16.0 r0

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Type of topic: plugins in the address bar and press ENTER.

    Watch it Path: for Flash 9.0 see exactly where this NPSWF32.dll is sitting on your hard drive. Delete this file manually.

  • Configurator can deploy more apps?

    Hello

    You can use configurator to deploy applications more once you have all your iPads travel configurator to prepare them for the students? I know that you can add that app and re deal throughout the Configurator, but since its manual and we 100...  I can't find a Yes or no answer. But I guess we use CASPER, which is fine, but I want to just make sure I understand all the steps and where to draw the line between the 2 packs.

    Thank you

    Stuart

    With that many iPads, you need to use something like Casper. You can push individual applications, update individual applications (or block them until this that tested), control updates to iOS, install restrictions and have even an internal "app store", which allows users to install only applications that you trust. For the best, you must be enrolled in the program entry Device (PED) and be a customer of the purchase Volume (VPP) program. Then, you can buy but many copies of an application you need with a single Apple ID and assign to individual devices or make them accessible to all devices. You can also use systems such as Casper to give access to enterprise applications that built your organization.
