Derivatives of cursor on screen

After you have moved the cursor with the trackpoint she often then derives a few cms on the screen.  I can do about it, please?

Your trackpoint is normally. What you saw is a part of his process of automatic calibration.

I hope this helps.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - cursor black screen flashing

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite Pro L300 Vista.

The customer earned him in because when it starts it goes to home Toshiba screen then goes to a black screen with cursor flashing at the top left. I connected external monitor with the same result. Swapped RAM as well.

Have run Memtest (spent), Seagate HDD long test (past), Ultimate boot CD and Winternals without success.
    * F8 does not work * and no more than the resumption of the plant.

Can enter the BIOS F2 and F12 no problems and the HARD drive is listed.

I reinstalled Vista on CD and on reboot it goes back to blinking cursor. I tried booting from the Vista CD repair and system restore. FixBoot commands and FixMbr prompt as well as with the same result.
I feel that it may be a corrupt CMOS sensor? It's like the OS installs correctly, but the computer loses his memory on reboot where the operating system?

Is the battery CMOS easily accessible and removable on this model?

Has anyone experienced these symptoms? Is - fixable at lower cost?

    Hello

If you have clients, I guess you're a technician and hope you have a few pieces of equipment in your store.
Have you tried to set the BIOS to default settings and check again?
If possible try to exchange the HARD drive and test the functionality again.
You can use laptop with Linux live CD (HARD drive not required)?

To be honest that I think n problem t is ORGANIC and, in my opinion, the exchange of the CMOS battery is not necessary.

Please test it with the new HARD drive and post comments.

  • Windows Vista no longer starts after re-installation (cursor black screen, white after installation)

A few days ago I decided that I wanted to start my Dell Inspiron 1720, back to square one. I knew that there are a few options, so I tried to restore. I realized it let me only a month back in time and my computer was slow for about a year now. I looked through my manual that came with my laptop and decided to unstack reinstall drive in and all re - install Windows Vista. I realized after I put the disk in and from the installation, I forgot to disable my anti-virus (trend pro microphone). I don't know if this is causing the problem, but after the installation, I get a black screen with a white cursor. I let it sit for about 4 hours before I decided to restart my laptop. Once I rebooted, it wouldn't let me normally, start in safe mode, or start from the last successful boot. I then tried to fix with my Vista DVD and who do not have too much work. I also tried the restore and it tells me that I am running in a low state of diagnosis and it cannot be done. I tried to reinstall vista twice since then and I'm out of ideas. Help, please! I forgot to add, when I try to start in safe mode, it stops at the ckcdisk.sys (I think it's called).

    millsx89,

When you install Windows Vista on the 1720 Insp, you need to install the SATA drivers during installation. That's why your system stops at this point. You can also boot into the bios by pressing F2 and changing the Sata in ATA instead of AHCI operation. And then install windows. You will need to change it back once you have installed windows and loaded the drivers.

    Thank you

    Jesse

  • Boots Vista 64 Ultimate SP2 (with domain) to the mouse cursor black screen white after that several failure system restores

Who can help me to WHO:

Sorry for fast hiking, misspellings, it's late and I do not use my normal computer to this problem I have.

I am currently sympthym to start the black screen with a white cursor (furniture, put in construction in the middle) with my laptop Dell Studio 15 (model 1537) that running Vista Ultimate 64 bit SP2.  He started tonight after repeatively, I tried to restore to a date prior to the System Restore tool.  I wanted to get back to Monday due to some software installations.  However, each attempt to restore failed and then after the 3rd or 4th attempt, when I tried to restart, I was faced with a window very long stop, and I was impacient and pressed and held the power button to stop it.  Subsequent starts, I've known this problem with no solution having been found for the moment.

I tried several things at first, such that I tried Ctrl-alt-del, control-shift-esc, blindly connect with my fingerprint.  I tried windows key combos, but no luck.  Still stuck with screen black mouse cursor

I have my vista ultimate 64 bit installation disc, and I started with the dvd and tried to fix it.  Automatic repair tool says he finds a problem with my start and had a difficulty to which I applied and rebooted.  But it did not work.

Then, I tried to boot from the dvd again and did the repair option again, this time, Autostart reparir tool see nothing wrong with my start and I tried a system restore, but alas, it failed after having worked for a bit.  Telling something about restoration being corrupted.  I tried command prompt (X:\Source) and make chkdsk c: /p (which btw, implies / f as well) and it found some errors and repaired them or what not was wrong to write to newspapers, even if and then after long waiting, returns to the c: prompt.  No effect.

On subsquent dvd boots, I tried the option to command line renaming a "Logs" directory and create a directory "Logs" empty (which was mentioned in some research online and even in a few posts here), but that has not solved the problem for me either.

Dvd later boots, I have tried regedit solution method, where you will load a SYSTEM key and set some sort of AUTHORITY NT set... but when I checked key, she was already the correct setting.

Then I learned that I could press the "Shift" key repeatedly while mode cursor screen black/white/and try the propmpt for keys pop-up to sticky.  But he said no 'link' as many instructions in this message box.  When I click 'Yes' to sticky keys, nothing is displayed and the pop-up closes.  Ditto for the 'no '.  There is no mention of accessibility settings.

I tried all modes of security, but just a white cursor plu experience.  I have tried to use "last known configuration', 'debug mode', 'start logging mode', mode"disable driver signing"and again, the same thing, the cursor of the black and white screen.  I'm really at my wit's end, and I don't want REALLY to re - install everything (operating system, programs, settings, etc.) ... I did not back upward, and I use this machine without problem for more than a year.

I remember once XP has a "repair install" mode which was really obvious to end users, since it looked almost identical to a clean install.  I have also heard (but can't really confirm) Vista has no such a fashion, that, by clicking on install, he repaired to the simular OS to XP disks how would repair their facilities.  I can't risk my data/programs/settings for accidental clean installation.  Help, please!

    Sincerely,
    Robert Eckman

According to me, put it back in place, is the only solution to your problem!

Satellite L350-D 215 black with cursor flashing screen - it worked fine said he had to restart and that's what happened, I can't in windows allows any single me in bios and Boot Manager.

I am looking for help to solve this problem. I don't know what went wrong, my warranty runs out on December 26, 2010 so if I can't fix it myself can I have return to toshiba to fix. I'm at a loss as to how to solve this problem, I have no disk for laptop recovery.

I tried the fix when you remove the battery and press the power button to 30 seconds doesn't not work, also tried leaving a few hours without battery and tried plugging in to power same, toshiba screen and only boot in the bios etc usually let HDD boot in windows only in black screen and blinking cursor.

Any help much appreciated. I saw the restoration of disks for £9.95 on a Web site for the machine so don't know what to do... totally empty.

    Hello

    I agree with Akuma.
Blinking cursor means that the Windows OS can not be loaded / booted up.
You need to reinstall new OS.

If you have a Microsoft windows CD you can use this disk to reinstall the operating system. The necessary drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba page.
Otherwise, you would need order a recovery disc Toshiba from here:

  • Disc Read Error black screen with the mouse cursor

    Hello world.

I'll apologize in advance if this was picked up elsewhere, however, I've been unsuccessful with validated solutions, I found.

I am trying to reinstall windows 7 on my laptop. I used to have win8 but got fed up with the thing of 100% of the disk. I reformatted my drive and installed win7. Everything was ok for a few days, and then he started getting lag. I decided to do a chkdsk (c:/f/r/x). He asked for a reboot in order to complete the process. After the reboot, chkdsk found a couple of bad sectors (I don't remember what files should be moved) and restarted again. This has happened 3 times in total.

The last restart led me to the «a read disk error occurred press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart» It comes as I can get without the disc...

Then I tried an official win7 installation disc which gets a little further. After lingering on the 'Starting Windows' screen for a few minutes, the screen turns black with only the white slider.

I changed my BIOS settings also so:

    * SysInfo *.

    -No change

    * Advanced *.

-CPU - disabled power saving mode

-EDB (Execute Disable Bit) - active

People with disabilities - Mode BIOS fast-

    -AHCI Mode Control - Manual

-Set the AHCI mode - people with disabilities

    -USB S3 Wake-Up - disabled

    * Security *.

    -No change

    * Start *.

    -Boot Device Priority

    1 SATA CD (DVD player)

    2 SATA HARD DRIVE

-Touch Mouse Pad - people with disabilities

-Secure Boot - people with disabilities

-Selection of the Mode of OS - OS CSM

    -Internal LAN - enabled

    -PXE OPROM - disabled

[Please note that I used setting 'UEFI and CSM the OS' aswell in the Mode of the OS but kept a CSM OS as long as there is no point using both with win7]

I have used most of the F8 options and get the w/cursor black screen.

Start in safe mode always seems to stall on "... \drivers\disk.sys" what "loading Windows Files". After 5-10 minutes on this, it would eventually return to the screen Black w/cursor...

Jacky help would be really appreciated, soon.

There is no point in trying to reinstall Windows. If your drive is faulty, then a new installation will not fix it. To get a reliable report on the status, you must download and run the web page of the Disk Manager Diagnostics tool.

  • iMac 8.1 White Screen of Death

Before I launch into history, here are some of the relevant features of my computer. I have an iMac 8.1 (2008 model) with a processor clocked at 2.66 DC2, 2 GB of RAM and a hard disk of 1 TB with three partitions. The main (about 640 GB) ran 10.11, the second a (32) snow leopard and the rest it has been implemented with Windows 7. This configuration worked well enough (if a little cludgily) for some time, but the other day, things came to a head.

It has a bit of history history, please bear with me.

Monday, after the computer has been awkwardly slow with no application, I thought to reinstall El Capitan to see if that would help. After the installation failed, I ran disk utility on the main partition to see what he would say. After a brief inspection, he said that it was a problem he couldn't solve, recommended making sure that my data has been backed up and clear. The Snow Leopard partition, however, seemed fine. Somewhere along the line I also gave Techtool Pro 8 a spin; It seems to indicate that most of the things associated with non-partition were very well, but found that the hard drive (in general) has failed to test temperature.

In any case, I boot in Snow Leopard, I guess to see if the old version of disk utility would have a bit more luck (this may sound stupid, but I confess I have a lingering distrust of the latest iteration of this software). As expected, he did not progress. I even ran DiskWarrior 4, and he says that the partition was shot. Somewhere along the way, I had disassembled the main partition for a reason, and after not being able to get him back for some time (and getting only ReadOnly when she didn't come back), I myself resigned and the likelihood that the partition was shot. We ran by Best Buy and picked up a 1 TB external drive (which I never had before, as stupid as it sounds; "I guess I never realized to cheap ways they had obtained). I spend a night using carbon copy to backup my important data and when I'm done moving things on the next day morning, delete this partition. So far so good. I reinstall El Capitan without any hitch and spend a day or two, transfer of information on the 'new '. I also make sure to configure the new disk as a time Machine, get all my data saved on it.

Things seem to be fine, and I'm starting to get back to my daily routine. However, this morning, after the connection and use it for a little while, the entire screen changes abruptly a very light grey/white color and no unresponsive. I understand that nothing is happening, stop and restart the power. The screen remains white. The slider appears, but nothing big happens else. At some point (I'm afraid I don't remember if it's on this first boot or one of the few later), a folder with a flashing question mark appears (this never appeared, however, on one or two startups). I try different things: reset PRAM (which at least brought the sound chime, who had kept silent, back), reset the SMC and boot into safe mode, a disc hard my choice with the Option key pressed, or since the Snow Leopard DVD. When he answered the optionkey down initially, it would shoot the cursor and screen as if he was going to offer me different drives, but nothing ever came, not even the external drive. After further start attempts, he stopped to show anything, even the cursor.

I have the external drive disconnected right now. When you start the computer, a white screen comes up and then nothing else seems to happen, no matter what key combos are pressed.

It was for some time ago, but I thought it would be useful to mention that we sometimes have blackouts here. After such an event, old computer power supply burned and had to be replaced. Since that time, however, everything seemed to work pretty well.

I looked around, discussions and others to try to see if I could find a similar experience, but as it is I'm quite puzzled. The only thing I have not tried is opened and unplug the hard drive as suggested by an intern, to see if she might try to find other media to boot from.

I thought I would ask here to see if he has any advice this community had to offer before doing something drastic. Thanks for reading and your review.

If you have the original install disc provided with the computer, run Apple Hardware Test Mode Extended 2 - 3 times back to back. If errors appear when you have confirmed a significant hardware problem the computer has to go repair. The reason to run AHT in Extended Mode what is complete, but it can miss errors during the first and even the second pass.

However my guess is have some other hardware problem and you really takes them to a CENTER in your area to be diagnosed professionally.

    THX... Tom

    Hi Tom,

Restart your computer and boot into safe mode and reduce the display settings.

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

Refer to this article to start in safe mode:

A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode

Follow these steps to reduce display settings:

    a. Click Start, point to settings and then click Control Panel.
    b. double-click on display.
    c. click on the settings tab, and then note the settings area of the screen and the colors.
    d. in the colors or Color Palette box, click colors (16 bit).
    e. move a cursor or screen area to 800 by 600 pixels screen area and then click OK.
    f. If you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.

This should help you solve the problem.

Keyboard strokes are nothing. Help! Katydidtoo

    Hi Katydidtoo,

    1. do you have the Windows XP installation CD?

    Method 1

It is possible that the hard disk has errors that need to be repaired by using the Windows XP CD.

If you have the Windows XP CD then I suggest that you run chkdsk on the computer to analyze and repair corrupt errors on the hard drive.

CHKDSK is available in the Windows Recovery Console and can be a very valuable tool in the treatment of a system that will not start correctly. The use of the Recovery Console is discussed elsewhere, but note that many systems have been rescued by the command chkdsk C: /R Recovery Console there are only two: / p: performs a comprehensive check of the drive and corrects any errors. Does not check if bad sectors / a: locates bad sectors and recovers readable information

See the Microsoft article below to find out how to start into the recovery console and try the steps above.

Description of the Windows XP Recovery Console for advanced users

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then check out the Microsoft article and try the steps mentioned below.

Conducted a successful training cloning with Acronis. Road exchanged USB enclosure to primary disk bay and started the machine. Booted automatic updates and office pilot came down to a new drive, I did not understand since I already had the drivers on the source disk. In any case, I was prompted to restart for the changes to take effect. I chose Yes and the restart process began. My screen turned white and my fan map punt in top and does not stop.
