• BlackBerry Smartphones deletion mystery icon on the home screen

  An icon appeared over one that shows the number of e-mails.  It's the #2 and one icon I don't know - maybe a small globe.  I can't get rid of this.  It may have something to do with a search I tried yesterday, was not successful and clicked on save the query.  I called the Blackberry line at T-Mobile, but the representative could not help.

  I would like to know what it is and how to get rid of.

  Weird that they are unable to help you.

  Open your main Messages folder > Menu > view folder > look in your file browser push or WAP Push and delete these messaages.

• Lock owner HP 600 of screen icon

  I started to see an icon of orange color on my Smart 600 touch screen which is titled, "locking of the owner. Below, it is another icon named 'Switch users'.  I have never seen this before a few days ago.  I know that if I click on the "Lock owner" icon orange it brings back me to what I look one until the icon appeared against a dark screen. My question is: "why this thing suddenly begin to appear?  Do I need?  I can do without it? How can I go back to where I was before that began to appear without messing something up? • HP Smart Web Printing installed but not symbol in the browser

  I just download HP Smart Web Printing and seemingly installed himself (if I try to install it still has once told me that it is already installed). When I try to use it I just can't find any appropriate symbol anywhere on the browser.

  QUESTION: Is there another way to start the HP Smart Web printing if the symbol does not appear after installation (button quick access, menu option), list of programs?

  OK, I found out where the mysterious icon is hidden, with a response to Bonnie on January 19, 2010.

  In my case (IE8 in German), I found that it is necessary to click on the > button at the end of the toolbar and which reveals additional icons, including a door marked "HP Smart Web Printing:

  Maybe not so much a mystery, more an "Easter egg". I ran across this in CS3 Illy (maybe even earlier) while assigning a keyboard shortcut "find fonts.

  This appears when you hold down the Alt key on a Windows - likely Option on your Mac machine.

  It seems to be an explanatory diagram think programmers of the illustrator of various formats of police: instead of the usual 'Type 1', 'The Foundation' and other icons, it displays these. Look what it says on your 'mail '!

  Very funny... until you realize you can not turn it off, and so using a keyboard shortcut, which includes Alt is impossible.

• Mystery status icon

  I have a status icon I do not recognize and have not been able to find through system preferences.  Is there a kind of directory of images somewhere?  When I hove top, I get the rotation beach ball.  It looks like a cloud on the side.

  It turned out to be Skype, in need of an update.

  some of my icons disappeared, leaving icons like this one generic where you normally select the program.  I can still use the programs but want icons back! Help?

  Right-click on an empty area of the desktop, and then click "arrange icons" (WXP) or 'view' (W7), then check "show desktop icons".

• "Globe / icon" mysteriously takes the place of internet shortcut icons.

  I guess this question is an ongoing thing with other users of IE 8.  Whenever I have create a shortcut on my desktop from a Web site, either more personal websites shortcut icon or I get that I guess being an icon by default, for example a white dog-eared page with an 'E' blue in the Center.  Which should, however, after a short time or even a day or two, the icon changes in this 'blue and green globe' or an icon of the "Earth-like" of the same color or nature.

  In terms laymans, how can it be corrected, get rid of the blue and green globe icon, without having to personally go to change the files in the operating system of my computer.  I'm not and I guess a great many other users, are not a computer expert or a technician and we have enough trouble with this problem of "icon" without adding to our grief by changing orders that we do not know how to correct if something goes wrong.  Microsoft offers a download or maybe a fix for the problem of this icon of switching for those of us who are not so clever programming or to modify these commands?

  Loving Windows 7, but do not love shortcut icons that have a spirit that is clean!

  This problem occurs only on internet icons, although when you click it, you get the web page you wanted the shortcut to bring up, it's just that 'gawd awful' blue and green globe of the Earth that is the issue.

  In the meantime, I found a solution much simpler which does not require a lot of time and patience.  For those who still have the same problem that I once had, read on...

  • Right-click on the offending icon (globe blue and green, etc.)
  • When the window opens click on "Properties".
  • Left click on "change icon".
  • In the upper right corner of the left window click 'Browse '.
  • Scroll down until you see "url.dll.
  • Left click twice on "url.dll," then...
  • Left click on 'Apply' and then left click on 'OK' in the next or the next window and you should have all familiar white dog-eared page with the 'E' blue in the Center where the times "awful gawd" globe once.  I took care of all my blue and geen 'globe icons' last night (27/07/10) and they have yet to return.  Simple, clean and... effective now.

  I have the 8320, and today, Handango inHand icon appeared on my dekstop phones. Why should I download the * beep * app to delete? Specifically, why RIM puts it on my machine without my permission?

  RIM is not and does not. RIM has its own App App World and is not ' t others pushing on your device.

  The only way I know to install the app from Handango is to visit their site where you register for InHand and install it yourself, either through a purchase on their site or for purchase on their website via the BB.

  This is a first for me...

  My screen I have an e-mail (the small icon of e-mail on the upper left corner).  Yet, I have not.  If I get an email it shows two, but there is only one.  I've deleted all the email on the phone.  It checks a single address.

  I bet you have a missed call.

  Since the update - it's a new way to inform that you have missed a call.  Go through your phone call log and open all the calls and I'd be willing to bet there is one with a tiny red 'x'.

  My new 8900 began by displaying a small icon (which looks like two small circles connected by underscore) to the right of my icons of message notification at the top left of my screen area.  Anyone know what this means?

  It is absolutely a voice mail waiting notification. Instead of your corporate voice mail, can you check voicemail on behalf for your cell phone number, if it is different.

  There is no separate BlackBerry voicemail location. The BlackBerry does not have voicemail, does your carrier.

• Mystery on my status bar icon

  I have an icon that keep appearing on my status bar that looks like a spinning disck. It's a circle with 2 arrows, it contains the effect of rotation. I can't ID it. It has not listed n the manual .pdf. The only way I can kill this is to restart the phone. Advanced Task Killer shows nothing running. Can someone ID this?

  I get the same icon when my Droid is synchronization of the Contacts.  If you turn off your Sync Contacts with your Gmail account, although it is in the notifications bar, I bet, it will go away.  It could also be related to synchronization of calendar or Gmail.  I hope this helps.

  Hi Lindaw66,

  It is an invitation to download, I think it's a Ram optimizer. Try to open your App World and the output or looking at your posts. Find Ram Optimizer, open and exit. A yellow/gold star should disappear.

• Invisible icon in the State without a Menu bar

  In my status bar, there is an invisible icon that I want to delete. If I click on the icon ' ' there is no menu, and I can't understand what program the thing could come.

  I am now on macOS Sierra, but it was there before I upgraded too.

  Click the Apple logo in the upper left corner of the screen, choose force quit which should list all running requests... you should be able to choose the mysterious application from there. Otherwise, start by smoking one by one

• I upgraded to FF 39.0.3 40.0.2 and the toolbar icons became tiny and/or weird

  Before, everything was fine. Through many improvements my customizations and settings 'Classic theme restaurateur' survived and I was happy.

  However, after the 40.0.2 of 39.0.3 the icons of the toolbar becomes strange.

  I have attached a screenshot that shows this.

  NONE of the installed modules and plugins have been installed AFTER the upgrade.

  I thought the downgrade to the version 39.0.3 but feared that it might cause other problems or that I could not downgrade properly

  I don't have to try your suggestions because I was away for a few weeks and also been busy. I would not waste your time and apologize if it was how it seemed to me.

  I was 'boast' nor rejecting the various suggestions made, but expressed my surprise to find when I return my problem seems to be solved as mysteriously that he had appeared in the original and the problem seems to be based in the CTR update.
