  First, you will need to take a snapshot of the virtual machine.

  • Select your virtual machine

  • Click on "take a snapshot" on the right-hand side of the web interface

  Then you must configure the virtual machine to go back to the snapshot when it is turned off.

  • Click on "configure the VM.

  • Click the "snapshot".

  • Select "back to overview" under when you feed off option

I then downloaded and installed Windows XP SP2 and SP3, but wasn't sure whether SP2 and SP3 removed the MSJVM in any point. However, research on the question, I discovered the site "FAQ of Transition MSJVM" (updated May 7, 2004), who answered the question: ' if I install Windows XP SP1a or later, it will remove my current MSJVM? " with "No, the operating system upgrade will not remove a MSJVM existing on the computer" (http://www.microsoft.com/about/legal/en/us/interoperability/java/faq.aspx). However, I can't find any instance of it on my computer.

  So my questions are:

  1. Windows XP Home (Version 2002) Edition include SP1?
  2. The MSJVM is installed on this version?
  3. SP2 or SP3 removes the MSJVM in any point to?

  You can try that... but there might be a problem of synchronization on the creation of an entity.

  I'm not aware of any limitations with VMS Exchange migration. Anyway, you can consider running the migration during the low workload.

  If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.

  Use the following steps:

  (1) right click on the program

  2) click Properties

  3) click on the Compatibility tab

  (4) select run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or other operating system, the program has been run successfully.

  If compatibility is not successful, then try and self-test program compatibility issues:

  1. open the program compatibility problems theStart button.

You can find the virtualization software free that will run on Windows 7 Home Premium.

  I get an error message "connection to the server timed out" while I'm trying to download the files from the virtual computer from the data store.

  I think that hard & .vsmp be used & locked is why you are unable to download it. Try to download the file, whereas the VMs system is turned off

  You can always use a supervision-process inside the virtual machine for this tool (perhaps more followed VM). It acts independently and allows much finer control, i.e. it can try first (re) start vm-tools before restarting. Same BSOD /-kernel panic can be dealt with by VM itself. It can actually be even more robust, not dependent on VMware infrastructure.

  VMware ESX 4.0 HA cluster on Server Blade IBM 3. VCenter machine resides

  on a virtual machine on the same cluster. When we tried to recharge a physical switch (in the)

  IBM Blade Center), all our virtual machines on the cluster have been turned off automatically.

  If the vCenter VM is turned off, then everything is fine - the reloading of the

  Switch is not turning off the virtual machines (and the net is ok - start machines

  work through another switch in IBM bladecenter). If the machine vCenter

  powers (manually), all the other machines, which have been put off, are powered

  on too (automatically, of course, with the help of the machine of vCenter). How

  is that what I can adjust the machine vCenter, so it could not power power machines by

  itself automatically?

  Hello

  Right-click in your cluster, change the settings. Select 'Virtual Machine Options' under 'Vmware HA' and choose the host response of insulation desired for the entire cluster or individual VM. If you do not have network connections redundant between your ESX machines, you probably want the virtual machine for when you need to do maintenance or your network switch died. You should probably also disable HA while doing maintenance. You should consider to build network redundancy in the case of a production environment.

  HI - so I haven't read hot air balloon, shared, private and everthing on the vmware RAM allocation.

  However I still do not get the 'mem % comments' column in the tab of the virtual machine for a given cluster.

  For example, I have a machine that shows:

  -in windows Task Manager, total physical: 4 GB, available: 1 GB. Incur costs: 7 GB

  -in the "allocation of resources" tab vmware: private: 3.9 GB, ball 0, 5 MB compress, shared 95 MB. Consumption: 4 GB.

  BUT in the tab of the virtual machine to the host, I see: host mem 4 GB (ok) and guest mem %: 18%

  IT makes no sense as a guest mem % is supposed to represent the percent of GUEST memory usage - which in this case should be 75% or 100% depending on how you look at it, but certainly not 18 percent.

  As I understood the mem % calculated using something comments are called "active memory". Active memory is memory that has been actively used "currently" (I don't know what "currently" means in time quantified tho). What you see inside windows, in the Task Manager, is allocated in memory from the point of view of windows, but windows is seen only (depending on the setting of mem comments) using 18% of 4 GB or 720 MB. A nice information to have if you plan to make a reservation for this virtual machine and that you really want to know what to set the reserve at since the rest of the memory could be balooned (toggled) without any noticeable decrease in performance of the virtual machine.

• AutoSave is slow when the virtual machine is not active

  When I actively use a Windows 2000 Server VM and AutoSave is triggered, it's very fast.  But if I did not use the virtual machine for a while, it takes some minutes and minutes.  If I'm trying to go back to the virtual machine, I have to wait indefinitely for the automatic backup complete.

  Is it possible to set the priority for the automatic backup feature?

  Are you talking about VMware Fusion AutoProtect feature, or something else (perhaps in the comments)? Offhand, it seems that when you have not used within a certain time, Fusion got paged out. Taking the automatic snapshot requires paging backward, which can take some time. You can test this theory by looking at activity monitor and looking at the pageout/publication numbers when you see an automatic preview slow.

  Pageouts and pageins are controlled by OS X and not something we have control over. Adding RAM to the Mac, it is more likely merger will stay in memory and avoid this situation.

• Clone the virtual machine between two ESX 3.5.0 servers (low connection)

  I have two ESX 3.5.0 servers that are managed by a vCenter servers one have just the connection of 32 KB.

  I need to clone one of my virtual machines from one to the other ESX is W2k8 created with 40 GB HARD drive. I tried to start it clone trough my low connection, but the task is about 86% for 4 days :|

  Is it possible to clone virtualmachine on one of my ESX for its local storage and after that, get it by vCenter for example an external HARD drive and then copy them all to my second ESX? How to run copied virtual machine on my second ESX? Maybe I can do it with another way - ideas?

  Two ESX are the same versions and machines, only the names and the ip addresses are different.

  I don't think it is possible since the virtual disk will be 40 GB in size - I was suggesting using a laptop as a server NFS ESX sees and access the virtual machine for this storage clone - it take the first vessel of ESX host it to secondary site attach NFS datastore on the second ESX Server and using the browser of data store you navigate to the cloned VMX of VM file and to him the second ESX host - you can cold migrate leaving the second host and then move the cursor above for the storage you want.
