DeskJet 2544: 2544 Deskjet doesn't scan

I recently bought and installed a Deskjet 2544 and used to print correctly.

Today happened to be analyzed and it will not do - come with a message of:

Tried to search for a missing driver but no joy. Help please.

Hello @mark1066and welcome to the Forums of HP!

I see that you are searching in the analysis questions.  I would like to help!

I would recommend starting with a power reset.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I recommend also to download and run the HP print and Scan doctor.

In addition, you have the same problem trying to make a copy?

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • DeskJet 2540: 2540 Deskjet doesn't scan - using Yosemite! 0.10

Bought a printer from "all in one" 2540 yesterday - are unable to scan (Using Yosemite). Printing software uninstalled and reinstalled - no error just won't give any access to a facility to scan. Really angry against all printed HP suggestions and quite happy to return immediately and get a good printer/copier/scanner. Very, very angry that in 2015 stuff still just simply does not work, but they still sell. If there is a solution can someone tell me where it is printed?

    Hey there @Silvester1984!

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I see that you are unable to scan.  I would be happy to provide you with some suggestions that may fix the problem.  The first thing I suggest is to test the Capture of IMage scanning.  Image capture is an application that is integrated into the Mac operating system that should allow you to scan.

To open Image Capture, click the spot light (in the shape of magnifying glass on the right)

    Type 'Image Capture '.

It should appear as the first option

    Open Image capture

Once you open the Image Capture, select your scanner from the left column of the window.  The scanner will be probably under "shared".  Once the selected scanner you should have options for the scan on the right side.  If you do not see many options then click on "View details" at the bottom of the window.  Scan using the Image Capture test to see if there is communication between the Mac and the scanner.

If please after back and let me know how it goes

  • DeskJet 3050 has: Scan Options window

    Hello

I have the DeskJet 3050 a printer and when I scan something it automatically scans in JPEG format. As I want to change my scans, I downloaded and installed the OCR software (I followed the instructions posted on the support forum HP, installation of the software for the HP Pro 8500 printer A910n JO). After you install this software, however, I can't find a scan window that allows me to choose the format for the scan options I'm about to do -: in other words, I don't have a window which now allows me to choose the RTF rather than JPEG. Do you know where I can find it?

(the instructions given on the Support forum for this step are: 4) now open the HP Deskjet 3050 scan window. Select "Scan" everyday and in the dropdown for "Type", select "Rich TEXT" or «indexable PDF»

(My problem is that I can't find the window of scanning HP DeskJet 3050 - and constantly scans automatically to JPEG format)

    Thank you

First of all, you must have the drivers and software HP Deskjet full functionality installed.  The scanning software provided with the HP Deskjet 3050 does NOT include OCR capabilities.  However, the HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 a A910n printer come with OCR capabilities.  Thus, the installation of the software and driver for the OfficeJet included installing the OCR package that can be used by the HP Deskjet 3050 HP scanning software and the product HP OfficeJet.

The HP scanning software are accessible in several ways:

    • #1 method - the Windows 7 Desktop: start-> all programs-> HP-> HP Deskjet 3050...-> HP Scan
    • #2 method - the Windows 7 Desktop: start-> all programs-> HP-> HP Deskjet 3050...-> HP Deskjet 3050...
    • Method #3 - Windws 7 Office: find HP Deskjet 3050 desktop icon; If it is present, run (double-click on).

Method #2 and #3 will launch the Desktop Client software. Under the analysis section, choose 'Analyze a photo document' to launch the HP scanning software.

    • Method #4: Navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \HP\HP Deskjet 3050\bin; Run Scan.exe HP (double click).  (Note: the C: drive is the default installation drive, change accordingly if you have installed the software on a drive by default.)

In the HP scanning software, you should see a number of shortcuts named Scan on the left panel of the dialog box.  Select the Scan shortcut named 'Scan' every day and change type of file to RTF settings in the right pane of the dialog box.  You can also create your own Scan shortcuts and configure the settings for scanning for this Scan shortcut to your liking, including the file type.

Click on 'accept as Solution' if it has solved your problem, while others may find it.

    Hello

I am to buy HP DeskJet advantage 3835.

It is possible to scan legal size paper / Folio is using this printer, especially using the ADF?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Printer scanner supports a legal paper from the ADF, the size can be selected by the HP scanning software.

You can find the sheet of paper output > supported paper sizes section below as a reference, legal size is supported by ADF top of the page:

  • DeskJet 3250: Deskjet 3250 only scans via Scan Doctor

    It prints well

    Rob_F1

    Hi @Rob_F1,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I'd love to help you to scan from your Deskjet 3250. I understand that you can scan print and Scan doctor, but not with the HP scanning software. You set the scan from the HP scanning software or the front panel of the printer?

I found a document that could help. This paper focuses on a type of wireless connection, but I think that the solutions presented may help you solve the problem: HP - printers Scanner card WLAN is lost (Windows).

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance. If this does not resolve the problem, please click Accept button Solution below to report your post as solved.

My deskjet all in a single 3545e has stopped scanning.  I get the following error page when you try to scan:

    Hi @bhjat,

    It may be a good idea to test the ability of computers to analyze. Try using one of the following methods to scan;

Fax and scanning the Windows Instructions

    1. Place the item you want to scan on the scanner glass, or load in the ADF (ADF) documents, if your printer has one.

  • HP Deskjet HP 2540: scan to jpeg or e-mail file is broken down into blocks on hp2540

as above, I have an all in one printer scanner Deskjet 2540, 81-32-bit windows-based, using the chrome browser.

I've never printed successly JPEG at the request of file or email.

Whenever I try to use it, it transfer itself on my pc in the form of small blocks lying each containing a few letters of the page that has been scanned, it distributes itself a new scan for each block number, IE when I click to see, a single block presents itself with a few letters in in.

It does not have the pdf or tif, so I oviously use that!

I've tried the settings for each attempt of all sizes to scan, complete scan down, as well as point resolution and file tye...

It seems unnecessary given jpeg there.

Now the question arises, what is my fault or the fault of machines, or is it just a matter of hitting a few buttons? It is still under warranty as well!

Easy on the techy answers please, I was born in 1942, the war was still on and we had to run to the nearest phonebox to call 999, I saw an orange until 1946, and the BBC was still trust, outside the propaganda that they spread. • DeskJet 2050 J510 - Scan and printserver

    Hello!

I can't use the scan function, if I connect to my printer via a shared printer on my other PC.

Can I use the function of scan on all computers in the network if the printer is connected to a print server?

All PC using Windows 7 64 bit.

As the name suggests "print server, it can only be used for printing when the printer is shared. Scanning is not possible because this HP Deskjet 2050 printer does not support network. It is for the USB connection only.

    Hello!

I'm unable to scan using the scan on the printer via Wifi button. I get the message not found computer. Ensure that the HP software has been installed on the computer.

I was printing fine, but I just downloaded the latest version of the software and I have now installed the following:

(One more thing if anyone knows - is in any way the software will be incremently save the file name of the analysis - whenever I touched except that I have to give it a new name, and it would be easier if it automatically names the files Doc1, Doc2...)
