DeskJet 3700: DeskJet 3700 prints very slow

Hey everybody,

I just installed my 3700 DesktJet on my 10 Windows PC and it seems to print really slow. Any idea?

Thank you

Bill

Hello

I have experienced this problem myself.

There are a few things you can try

  1. Check the type of default paper for the printer, go to settings, click on the print properties and make sure the paper type is plain paper
  2. Run windows update to ensure that you have the latest version of the printer driver.
  3. Take a look at this document (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05272556)

I hope this helps

  • DeskJet 2544: hp deskjet 2544 suddenly prints very slow but quickly copies

I have had this printer for about 6 months.  Things were very good.  Recently, it started very slow printing.  I read it could be weak cartridges so even if they had both ink, I replaced the.  I have nothing but HP used since the beginning. I noticed that she copy quickly, but print very, very slowly.  Any suggestions? It has been connected wireless but I stopped that and we hung usb thinking that was the issue.  But no. I should add it is connected to a Dell AIO

    Hello @sues2015!

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I should be able to provide suggestions!  I can see that over time your printer running slowly when printing from the computer wireless or USB connected.  If the printer is capable of performing a photo copy at normal speeds and then indicating that the equipment is working correctly and you are probably looking to a software problem in the computer.  Also if the printer is having the same problem USB or wireless connected pointing more fingers to the software.

The first thing I recommend is to uninstall the HP software. Once the uninstall is complete, it would be wise to perform a cleanup of the computer disk. A disk cleanup will improve the performance of the computer and remove the temporary files that may cause problems during the installation of the software. Once disk cleanup you must restart the computer and reinstall the HP software.

To uninstall the HP software, click here: uninstall the HP software

To perform a disk cleanup, click here: perform a disk cleanup

To download the HP software, click here: HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-One Printer series full feature software and drivers

If please, after back and let me know how everything goes.

  • My printer prints very slow

I have a Deskjet 6940. It had been printing very quickly, but is now barely mobile. I don't know if something has changed in my system or what. I even rebooted the SW. I have it configured for Fast project but it chugs along. Not at all as if it were before.

I need help because I print every day a lot and need to print quickly.

    Thank you.

The printer print a Windrow, then wait 10 to 15 seconds before the next swath?  If so, then one of the cartridges may have failed.  To troubleshoot this remove cartridges and try to print reserve mode.  If this prints to the near normal speeds then the cartridge you removed must be replaced.  If the printer is still very slow, and then replace the original cartridge and remove the cartridge on the other.  If it prints at a normal speed, then the cartridge that you deleted now is at fault.

(Note: when printing text in view of reserve with a cartridge installed color printing will be a little slower than normal, but not very slow.)

  • LaserJet Pro M201dw: Laserjet Pro M201dw - print very slow or not at all

Hello - I bought a M201dw Pro Laserjet is approximately 3 months.  I just change the original cartridge as an idea of how much/little it has been used. It has worked well for 3 months but started printing very slowly, or not at all with in the last few days.  It is not a network printer, it is directly connected to my PC.

    Thanks for any help,

    Jim

    Hello

Try going into the service of the printer menu and changing the USB high speed to full

The printer will restart and will have the best speed for the connection

So, make sure the USB under 6 ft s and s a direct connection print and PC (without REPEATER MULTIPORT USB or something similar)

  • HP Deskjet F380 print really slow and ejects incomplete pages

Hi, I have a HP Deskjet F380 all-in-one. It worked perfectly for months until this one day he started to have problems when printing. When I hit the button "print" the printer take too long to print and it is extremely slow, it prints a little then stops (20 seconds or more) then print more. Also my printer ejects often empty or incomplete pages. I tried different solutions. (1) uninstall/reinstall the driver for the printer 2) disable my firewall and antivirus
4 reset the printer (unplug the printer power cord ecc..) 3) open the printer to check if there is something blocking the internal components 4) remove and reinstall the cartridges, clean the contacts of the cartridge and check the ink level 5) try using a different power supply from another HP printer. Nothing has fixed the problem. I ran HP print and Scan doctor but the test found no errors. I also tried to unplug the usb cord and print a self test page (press the button cancel + copy color button), but it won't work, so I have deduced that there is a problem with the printer and the questions were not related to my pc.
    I am running Windows 7 64 bit

    Any help is very appreciated!

I solved the problem myself. The black ink cartridge was defective, I replaced it, and now my printer works perfectly!

  • DeskJet 1010: Prints very light and apparently only in gray

I use a deskjet 1010 with magnetic ink to print checks.  For some reason, it is only printing in very light gray.  I cleaned the print head, which did not work.   I then reinstalled the printer still does not work.  Help, please!  Thank you.

    Hi @FedeL,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are unable to get a magenta print on your printer HP Deskjet 1010. I would be glad to help and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution" if I helped successfully will solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I see that you have cleaned the print head, which did not work. There could be a problem with the ink cartridge, printing or distribution of ink system.

    Check the print settings:

How to print in color, black ink only or grayscale

Depending on your job printing, color printing, black ink only or grayscale. The following color options may be available for your printer:
  • HP Deskjet F4180 prints very, very slowly. -one line about every 15 seconds.

Product name & number: HP Deskjet F4180

    Operating system: Windows 7 64-bit

    no error message

No changes were made to the system

    No problem.

  • All of a sudden my deskjet 5690 prints very slowly on my laptop Windows 7 2009

Even the print project it takes 5 minutes to print a single page.  I have downloaded the software of the printer doctor, says that everything is installed properly.  Any ideas?

This is caused by the failure of one of your cartridges.  Remove the black print cartridge and print a test page.  The printer prints at a normal speed?  Is therefore the black cartridge was the issue and needs to be replaced.  If it isn't then, put the black back cartridge in and remove the color cartridge and the test page printed.  If the printer now prints speed the color cartridge is responsible and must be replaced.

  • PSC 2110 all-in-one now prints VERY SLOW

Maybe I just need to bury it, but my psc 2110 started extremely slow printing - 15 minutes for the align cartridges page, 17 minutes for the 'self-assessment report.  So, it has nothing to do with the connection between the printer and the computer (these prints are of the printer itself).  I tried unplugging everything, wait, and plug it in; Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges; align the print cartridges; Download the HP printer utility (who reported "No problems found"); looking for an update (it says I have the latest).  Any ideas?

If the printer prints a swath, and then pauses for 15 seconds before the next broke then probably the issue is one of the ink cartridges has failed.  If the PSC 2110 is capable of printing mode reserve (with one of the removed cartridges), then you can remove a cartridge, print something, then replace the cartridge, remove the cartridge else and print something.

Whatever that cauese cartridge the printer to print slowly is the culprit and should be replaced.  If the PSC 2110 does not support the mode of the reserve, then you will have to use trial and error to find out what cartridge is at fault.  I would like to start with the black cartridge.

  • My 7410 faithful had staarted printing VERY slow

My HP 7410 faithful began unusually slow printing.  It seems to be printing line with 10 seconds between the lines.

I "think" there was a recent update from HP... but I'm not sure.

It doesn't matter if I'm printing from the PC... or using the Panel configuration or by using the copy on the 7410 feature... still print line-by-line with 10 second pause between the lines?

    Thank you... TR

This is usually caused by one of the default cartridges.  Try to remove the black cartridge and printing (do not copy) a test page.  If this prints to the near normal speed the black cartridge is faulty and must be replaced.  If the printer still prints slowly then put the back black cartridge in and remove the color cartridge, and then print a page.  Replacement of the cartridge that causes slow printing with a new cartridge, the problem will be solved.

Assuming that the cartridges are original HP (neither remans or refilled) you can check the status of the guarantee as stated here.

  • p1102W: Google print very slow clouds on HP P1102W

I use a Chomebox with Google Cloud Print to print to HP laser printers several.   It works very well on all of them except P1102W printer.  On P1102W printer, it takes about 3 to 5 minutes between the moment where a page is sent to the printer until it actually starts to print.   Each print job sent to a P1102W takes at least 3 minutes to start printing.

Please note that the only way to print from a Chromebox with Cloud Print.

When I print to a printer P1102W directly from a Windows PC, either using the Wi - Fi connection or via the USB interface, pages always start printing within seconds.   Also, if I print on the printer using HP ePrint service (without using Google Cloud Print), starts in a few seconds.   Therefore, I must conclude that there is some kind of incompatibility between the P1102W and Google Cloud Print.

I saw several other reports of this problem with this HP printer.    Is there a solution?   If a delay of at least 3 minutes is normal when you use Google Cloud Print to this printer, it is not 'Google Cloud Print ready'.

Just to close this issue.    An Executive Assistant to a VP of HP called me about the problem.   The final resolution was to send me a credit of $200 for another HP printer.   I used credit to buy a HP Laserjet color that works very well with cloudprint.

  • Reference Dell V715W is printing very slow

I recently installed the Dell V715W printer it installed ok and print ok, unless you want to print anything that has all the graphics on it... He takes seriously until 5 minutes to print one or two pages.  If you want to print just a word with text document, it prints quickly.  Any ideas on why printing is so slow?  I am running Windows 7 64 bit

    A few thoughts more...
-would be good if you could test it with another wireless router in exclude
-with certain printers, there is an option to basically 'print as image' (makes a huge difference when we had a similar problem with PDF - totally different Scenario however).
