DeskJet 6980 do not print

Recently, I tried to print an envelope, it stuck, I pulled the envelope out of the feeder. Since then, my printer does not print. I get the error message 'on the printer door is open' there is no open door on the printer. However, not print. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the software still does not. Anyone able to help me with that?

Ok. Finally figured it out when I've sorted by HP Web site and found doc 01065334 titled 'Top cover open' Message is displayed on the computer. Removed from the right side panel, noted that the fragile piece of plastic that is supposed to go up on the ledge gear is no longer will do it, won't slide up on the ledge to tell printer that the lid is closed. Must be done manually from now on. So my 6980 HP, with all its sophisticated software depends on the design jury rigged cheap plastic. It was after that I talked to scientists of HP who said that this problem was not repairable, or should have been maintenance cost more than the original cost of the printer. It is a design flaw in the printer.

  • HP Deskjet 6980 will not install via USB or network

    I've recently updated my PC with a new mother/case/CPU card, etc. and trying to set up my Deskjet 6980 he tries to install two separate drivers.  One is named HP Deskjet 6980 DOT4USB and the other just HP Deskjet 6980.  Dot4USB installation is complete, however the drivers for "Hp deskjet 6980" fail.  The printer indicates only in my "devices and printers" as "HP Deskjet 6980" with an icon of troubleshooting.  whenever I run troubleshoot it tells me I need to install the drivers.  He's trying to install the drivers through troubleshooting or Windows Update every time, she fails.

    I tried to uninstall all instances of the name Deskjet from my computer, turn off the printer, restarted my computer and then turn on the printer/plug again for the same results.

    I plugged my printer on the network and while my laptop has no connection/printing problem, when I try to add it as a network printer in "Devices and printers" it gives me an error message saying "unable to install.  "Double check the name of the printer and make sure that the printer is connected to the network.  I tried both options "Use the driver is installed" and "replace the driver" and both give me the cannot install message.

    Some tips on what might be the problem or how to fix?  I downloaded each item including HP Deskjet 6980 on site without success.

    Windows 7.  As mentioned, the printer works perfectly when connected to my laptop via USB or wireless connection, my PC just does not want to connect via either.

    HP Print & Scan doctor tells me that I must not get the installer of your website, however there is no installer for Deskjet 6980.  The "Printer Install Wizard" & "Hardware diagnostic utility" mean that the printer is not supported by the software.   When I plug in the printer it goes through the process of installing driver as follows:

    I tried the update through troubleshooting, Windows Update and even to get the file on the Microsoft Web site (pg no longer exists). I thought about trying to find the driver on my laptop, but I'm not sure the actual name of the file what.

    Looks like I solved the problem myself.  I don't know why, but my printer has appeared only at random in my Uniblue DriverScanner program (it would not be displayed when I looked before).  I was able to download & install from program Driverscanner and my printer works perfectly.  A strange question, but at least it was an easy fix.

    My HP Deskjet 9800 is not printing.   It was printing fine until I replaced the cartridges.  I tried to implement everything in the manual, etc... and nothing works.  Any help would be greatly apreciated!  I use Windows 8.

    I plugged into the wall and bought the HP cartridges!  It is now printing!  Thanks a lot for your help!  Patricia

    Please use the following document to solve the problem. Printer cannot print black ink or color ink, or prints blank Pages.

    My DEskjet 3520 does not print envelopes.  I tried all the solutions, and none of them work.  My operating system is Windows XP Professional SP 3.  The computer is a Dell inspiron 530.   There is noe error messages.  When the envelope comes out of the printer, it is empty.  When an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper is in the printer, the address information prints on the right edge of the paper in landscape format.

    My conclusion is that there is a serious error in the software.

    If there is any workaround I would be grateful to receive them.

    I simply "duped" the copier and formatted the envelope to print in the center of an 8 1/2 X 11 inch paper landscape page.  It took a few violins, but I've got envelopes printing.

    No error message flashing.

    I read on how your Deskjet F350 will not print once you have replaced most paper during a print job. What comes to mind, is that the printer can think it's even more paper.

    Try to reset the printer and restart the computer and try again to print.

    Reset instructions:

    • Press the power button to turn the product on.
    • With the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
    • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    • Wait at least 15 seconds.
    • Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
    • Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
    • If the product does not light by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

    Let me know what happens!

    I have a HP deskjet printer 3510 and I use a HP with Windows 7 desktop computer. My printer cannot print from the computer, and he repeats to me than "ink cartrides are missing" tri color and black. I replaced the cartridges and and clean. When iIcheck the ink levels via the printer it self he is saying they are full, and the pritner will make copies of photo, used still print from the computer.

    I noticed that your HP Deskjet 3510 will not print and the computer says that the ink cartridges are missing. I'm happy to help you with this printing problem!

    Please have a look through this general printing guide, your HP printer print jobs are stuck in the print queue.

    Also, I'd take a glance through this guide, a "cartridge problem," "Ink cartridge failed", not "compatible ink cartridges", or "Cartridge missing or damaged" Error Message is displayed on the control panel.

    My printer displays the message "the selected printer is not available or is installed correctly. The printer is installed and will print documents.  Not Adobe print there either. I went through the troubleshooting, I deleted and reinstalled, I unplugged and replugged in.  Any ideas? It is connected via a USB port. It was working fine before. No changes this. Thank you

    Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! I understand that you are not able to print from your E-mail or your HP Deskjet 6980 Adobe program. I want to you to start with the steps below:

    1. disconnect the USB key if you use a direct connection.

    2. remove the software HP DJ 6980 uninstall from the control panel of your computers an option of the program.

    3. restart the computer.

    4. make sure that all the software DJ 6980 disappeared from the list programs, but also your HP folder listed under all programs in your Start Menu.

    5. now you need to install the DJ 6980 in pilot using the, click on the link below to get installed (do not connect USB until invited by the document below):

  • HP Deskjet 990cxi does not print color

    HP Deskjet 990cxi had for many years with no problems.  Once the color has begun to come out in pink, I replaced the cartridge from the printer and now it does not print in black and faded rose.  I replaced the cartridge with an another new and still the same results.

    Can someone help and let me know what I need to do?

  • HP Deskjet 1112: HP Deskjet 1112 does not print

    Recently, I bought a HP Deskjet 1112. It prints very irregular and I can't seem to understand the problem.

    Here's what I've tried so far:

    (1) turning and turn on the printer
    (2) turn the system off and on again spooler (using Windows + R, typing in services.msc, turn off the spooler, then by disabling the that and turn it back on)
    (3) uninstall and reinstall the software (this is what the printer Troubleshooter told me to do)

    The convenience store told me that is missing a driver, and he also says that the printer and the computer communicate well. I wonder if it is a question of rope? In addition, I do not know what a driver is so I don't know how to check if it is operational.

    Help, please. I'm running out of ideas for now thanks in advance!

    I bought my printer a while ago and implemented so I could print wireless from my Mac. The other day I had to print some PDF documents and printed first, but the other two never printed. In the queue, it says "ready to print" and the two buttons wireless to the printer are turned on. It also does not print when I connect it to the USB port.     I see that you have some problems with your machine printing Mac OSX 10.11 for the all-in-one printer Deskjet 2540. I can help you with that.

    To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

    1. Disconnect the USB cable if it is connected.
    2. Turn the printer off.
    3. While the printer is turned off, disconnect the power cable from the back of the router.
    4. When the lights come back on the router, turn on the printer.
    5. Close any programs you have open.
    6. On your Mac, click on your Apple icon, system preferences and printers and Scanners.
    7. Hold down the CTRL key and click on an icon of your printer on the left.
    8. Click on reset printing system.
    9. Click the 'more' in the lower left corner.
    10. Select your printer from the list.
    11. Click in the box next to and select your printer from the list.
    12. Click on Add.

    Recently I bought HP Deskjet 1510, but it will not be printed.

    When I click on print a word document, it goes into the queue but then disappears after a few seconds - and the printer does nothing.

    I tried troubleshooting, but it is said that there is no problem. I've loaded everything that was on the CD that came with the printer and bought the right USB cable, so have no idea why it does not print... Everything works fine (scan, copy)...

    Any help would be much appreciated!

    I discovered that it was nothing wrong with the printer, just with my computer. Has had enough of trying to solve problem so abandoned my computer windows7 and bought a new printer and windows 8.1 works perfectly. see you soon

    I have a Deskjet 3520 printer.  I installed a new HP ink cartridges, color printing works fine, but the black does not print.  Even if I force black only in the preferences to print gray nothing comes out.  The print head moves back and looks like it's printing, but the page is empty.  I also ran the cycle of cleaning heads.

    Have you tried with another Usb cable? DC said that "usb not recognized it. You should check also Device Manager for universal serial bus drivers. Finally, you can try to connect both usb cable to check the work of regular printer usb socket or not. you don't need to install the driver. Simply connect the usb cable between the printer and PC. If both USB works with off problem that should not see the unrecognized Usb device message.
